“I’m–I’m so sorry,” she croaked.

“S’okay, no harm done.” He liked blondes, and this one was curvy, too, in all the right places. He tried a smile. She looked more scared. Christ, when had he become such a social pariah?

“I’m not going to eat you,” he mumbled as she turned around and ran to the ladies’ bathroom.

He glanced around and by force of habit checked the room for trouble.
Fuck, I need to chill out. It’s a wedding for God’s sake.
He saw Sean Bruce brooding at a table in the corner of the room, staring into his beer.
Well, I’m not only one with issues.
Bruce had been acting very strange since the full-moon run. He had apparently chased a large stag and lost track of time and distance, or that was his story anyway. Kil knew the man to be a good hunter and was surprised he’d made such a rookie mistake. As luck would have it, or so his story went, he turned up near Brad’s home and got a lift back to The Den. Since then Bruce had been uncharacteristically quiet.

Kil put the worries of others from his mind. He needed a holiday. Perhaps he could do a bit of travelling and look for his mate at the same time. Things were fairly quiet at the moment, and there were no major rogue problems. He looked at his watch. It was time to relieve the guards who were currently on duty at The Den. They were pulling short shifts so that everyone had a chance to spend some time at the party. None of his men on duty would be drinking tonight, and Kil never drank anyway. He rounded up the guys who had drawn a short straw and drove them quickly but carefully to the estate. The guys at the front gate were very happy to see them, and they swapped places with two men in the vehicle.

As he pulled up in front of the main house he saw a guard, Alan, walk into sight from around the corner of the building. Good, he was doing his half-hourly walk around. Kil got out of the car, walked to the main front door, and had a few words with the man. The other guard, Peter, had just finished a sweep inside the house and, as expected, all was quite. They cheerfully exchanged places with the fresh guards.

He walked down the steps at the front of the house to get back into the car when something in the corner of his eye caught his attention. A ladies’ scarf was caught low in a bush, struggling to get free and fluttering in the breeze. He walked over and carefully unhooked the scrap of girly pink material and took a sniff to see if he could identify the owner. Joanna Akara’s delicious pre-mated scent was detectable, but underneath it was…he staggered a step back as
her
scent hit him hard.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I was born and brought up in the northwest of England and spent most of my time either messing about on my grandparents’ farm, or reading. I went to college in Scotland, where I also met my husband. We were married in a hot air balloon over Florida and our feet haven’t really touched the ground since. We have lived in several countries, and I have met many lovely people with interesting stories to tell.

I decided to write because it is something I can do from home, wherever I happen to be living. Erotic romance is fun to write and I love to create characters that I can relate to and give them romance, love, hot sex and a happy ending.

I hope that you enjoy reading my stories.
