Sarah and the girls followed Jim as he got on
the main street and drove for several miles. He pulled up to a
beautiful house with a circular drive. There were children playing
on the block and everything looked so normal.
Sarah got out of the van and stood there
staring at the house. “It is beautiful, Jim.” Jim picked Suzanne up
and Riley picked up Cooper and they walked towards the front
door.
“I bought some chairs and a table for out
back he said as they walked through the large living room and
kitchen and went out the sliding glass doors that lead to the pool.
Jim walked back into the house and brought them out a couple of
bottles of pop and then asked Sarah to tell him what had happened
today.
Even before she could finish her story about
the letter from Dawn and the shaking of the floor, the moving men
were carrying in furniture and asking them where they would like
the pieces placed. Riley and Suzanne begged their dad to show them
their new bedrooms. Jim took a long look at his wife, kissed her
and told her to relax and catch her breath that he would take care
of everything.
Sarah looked around her and smiled. Was the
nightmare finally over? She heard Cooper growling at a bunny rabbit
near the fence, “grrrrrrr, momma” She took off her shoes and walked
right into the pool, clothes and all, laughing.

Mrs. Brice walked into her office at the
management company after her lunch hour. “Moving vans at the house
on Brunel Street!”
“O.K. I just had a call this morning from a
widow with two sons looking for a house to rent.” Her co-worker
answered.
