Products containing yeast, as they are high in prurines.

Alcohol. It increases the levels of uric acid in the body and can predispose you to crystal formation.

Fried foods and saturated fats may increase inflammation and pain.

Salt, sugar, and refined carbohydrates. Gout is caused by sodium urate crystals building up in the joints, so it is very important to avoid salt.

Anchovies, herring, mussels, and sardines are high in prurines.

Tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, potatoes, mushrooms, and chiles.

Tobacco. Its solanine content can increase inflammation.

HERBS AND SUPPLEMENTS

Every morning, drink

glass of aloe vera juice.

The herb devil’s claw, taken three times daily for six months will help to dissolve compounds that trigger gout symptoms.

Nettle tea, which can help to improve kidney function.

Take the green supplement spirulina.

Fish oils can help to reduce inflammation because of their essential fat content.

Supplement with vitamin C and bioflavanoids. Vitamin C has anti-inflammatory properties and can reduce uric acid levels.

Take digestive enzymes with meals to aid proper digestion and absorption of nutrients.
