She sighed and wriggled closer against Gavin’s side. Eagle
had done them an amazing service but she was glad he’d gone. He’d left behind
this brand-new, precious closeness she felt with Gavin. For the first time in
forever, no ghosts haunted her.
“No going back,” she murmured.
“Or holding back.”
She giggled. “I’m not sure I’d know how anymore.”
He leaned close and brushed his lips against hers. They
tasted like salt and man and love. They tasted like the future.
