Harry had to laugh. âI want to see that,' he said.
He looked over at his son. Bob and Patrick were both talking, hands animated, a slight flush on his son's face. âIt's all going to be all right,' Harry said.
His son had survived; the future was still possible. The child had been rescued and although he could only imagine what the mother must still be going through, she'd be all right too. She had a second chance.
âThey'll talk forever,' Annie said. âHow about you and I take the dogs for a walk? The woods are glorious this time of year.'
Harry nodded and the two of them slowly crossed the lawn, dogs scampering at Annie's side.
