“I believe it’s been well-established to be my lifestyle now, as well. Tell me the truth. Weren’t you curious at my age?” I asked, lifting my head to look at him, still wiggling my bottom to invite more attention.

“I spanked my first girlfriend when I was fifteen,” he confessed. “I’ve always hated weak men, like your sperm donor, so I was bound and determined never to be like him. I just wonder how much you need to know, and how much can wait until you’re a bit older.”

“Jace, be real. With the internet, nothing is hidden anymore. Plus, you took me to that Subspace thing. I want to learn more and you know it. You said it’s natural for me, so we might as well not fight it. Now, what’s the surprise?” I asked, changing the subject.

“I forgot.”

“I hate when you do that,” I grumbled.

He laughed again and told me that when I was done with my room, I could do his, than we’d go out for dinner. With a sigh, I obeyed. He rewarded me with a seafood dinner, frozen yogurt, and a quiet walk along the public beach.

I loved these special times with Jace and felt as though I had known him forever. We all noticed that he spent less time away from home and much more time alone with me. Our relationship was changing, and we shared things about ourselves that we both normally would have kept silent about. One of which was the Subspace thing. I broached the subject, admitting it was becoming an obsession.

He sat me on the sand to watch the waves, holding my hand warmly against his thigh. “I know you want that, Baby. I’m just not sure it’s right to give it to you yet. I honestly didn’t think you would fall into the zone so quickly.”

“But I did and I
have
experienced it. Why are you afraid to take me there again? I don’t understand. It’s not like… like I’m asking you to have sex with me.”

“For me, the ability to take my sub there is as intimate as sex. She has to trust me completely and allow me to guide her through the experience. It also tends to produce… inappropriate feelings… between a noncommitted sub and her Dom. I don’t want you to feel I’m leading you on. Just in case…” he sounded uncomfortable as he searched for his words.

“I’m committed to you, Jace. I told you that. It appears you're the one who's not committed,” I argued.

“Sweetheart, you don’t know what you are asking for yet. Please, give me time. If and when it becomes right for me, you will be the first to know. And it’s not because I don’t want it, either. I need to work out some personal conflicts before I can take another step. Please try to understand.”

With a frustrated sigh, I nodded. He was clearly uncomfortable with the discussion and eager to change the subject. Out of respect, I complied.

On Sunday, Jace called me up from the dock to tell me my surprise was being delivered. The puppies followed me happily and sat on the front porch while a limo pulled into the driveway. It was Cara! Black and white crashed as my girls excitedly greeted Torque, barking in a frenzy of joy while racing around their happy friend and chasing him wildly over the grounds. I hugged Cara tightly. It had been almost a year since I had seen her last.

“Jace, how did you pull this off?” I hugged him gratefully.

“Mr. Jordon called my daddy and asked him if he could borrow me for a couple of weeks to spend time with you while Ma was out of town,” Cara said with a giggle. “Daddy couldn’t wait to get rid of me. He doesn’t know how to entertain me anymore.”

“Two weeks? You’ll be here for two weeks?” I looked at Jace, who nodded, obviously well-pleased with himself as he picked up Cara’s luggage and walked into the house. He gave her the room next to mine and told us to get cleaned up and he’d take us out for lunch.

Cara was overwhelmed. She had never seen the ocean before and could only stare out her picture window in awe. I showed her the door to the adjoining balcony, and took her outside.

She leaned over the railing, closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. “It smells so good. It’s no wonder you didn’t wanna be stuck at the lake. I’m moving in for good. And Jace is HOT. Do you have any plans with him? Like jumping his bones?” she asked with a twinkle, elbowing me.

“Yeah, he’s hot and believe me, I have lots of plans. He’s just not biting yet, but that isn’t due to my lack of trying,” I confessed with a sigh, “Get changed into some shorts so we can go. I can tell he’s hungry.”

After lunch, we took Cara on a little sightseeing trip around Carmel and then headed home. After quickly introducing her to Mark and Gayle, I took my friend down to the dock to catch up and make plans for my unexpected extended vacation.

The five of us went whale watching, visited Hearst castle, and went to Disney and Six Flags. I almost felt sorry for Jace because having Mark and Gayle around was like having two other kids, and he railed on them about their behavior more than he did about Cara and mine. He finally gave up with the admission of fighting a losing battle. After that, he became as uncontrolled as his friends and Cara and I began to question who the ‘adults’ in our little group were.

I don’t think either of us had ever laughed so hard in our lives as we did that week. When Jace and Mark got into a wrestling match on the living room floor, trying to decide who was more ‘manly’. Cara announced her intention to move in permanently.

The following Sunday, I took Cara to the stables to go from a beach ride and was confronted by this tubby, thirteen-year-old, monkey-faced little creep who was known as the Terror of the Corral. When he demanded we take different horses than the ones I had reserved, I blatantly refused and received a kick to the shin.

Before I had a chance to respond, Cara dove onto him, pommeling him with her fists and grinding his face in horse manure. He was reduced to tears in a matter of seconds and blubbered pathetically as the stable-hands pulled her off his back.

The brat’s mother screamed in our faces, ignoring the stable-hands as they tried to explain that her son had provoked the fight, and then immediately called Jace to order him to pick us up.

I was livid! When he arrived, I promptly told him everything that had happened as he inspected Cara for damages. Relieved that she was okay, he left to talk with the stable manager.

Cara looked at me. “Jace looked mad. Am I in trouble?” she whispered. She looked scared. “I only wanted to protect you.”

“Hey, I know and so does Jace. He loathes bullies. He’s probably threatening the manager that he will not stable our horses here if this type of stuff goes on. Here he comes.”

“Okay, ladies, let’s get out of here. You aren’t going to have any more problems with that Smithers kid or his beastly mother again, and I have you scheduled for another ride tomorrow if you want,” Jace promised.

My hero! He looked at Cara in the rear view mirror. “Cara, honey, I need to call your dad about this.”

“Do you have to? He’ll make me come right home then ground me for six months. Do you have any idea how miserable Wyoming is when you’re stuck in a little room with no TV or computer?”

“Sorry, Kiddo, but I have to. That fight was totally unnecessary and you know it.”

“Please, Jace,” I added, “I don’t want her to leave.”

“I‘ll talk to her father about letting her stay the rest of the week. Don’t worry.”

“Jace?” Cara said timidly, “Can’t you just take care of this?”

Jace glanced at her and I elbowed her sharply, shaking my head with a warning that she really did not want to go there, no matter how curious she was.

“Only if I had your father’s permission,” Jace said firmly. “You can ask him when I call him.”

Cara paled.

“Told you,” I whispered, feeling very sorry for my friend.

Jace sat Cara down in the office as he picked up the phone and dialed her father.

“Charlie Monroe here, how can I help you?”

“Hey, Charlie, Jace Jordon. We had a little incident today.” He briefly told Mr. Monroe what had occurred.

“You get that little girl on this telephone now!”

“Hi Daddy,” Cara said quietly.

“Don’t you ‘Hi Daddy’ me, Young Lady. I am booking the next flight home and you are grounded until the end of the year! I will not tolerate you fighting! You are eighteen, for crying out loud! Act like an adult!”

“But Daddy…”

“Give me the phone, Cara,” Jace said. “Charlie, listen; she’s been a good kid and the girls are really having fun. Would you consider another option?”

“Whatcha got in mind, Jace?”

“I will let Cara tell you. It was her suggestion.” Jace handed the phone back to my poor friend.

“Umm, Daddy, I was wondering if, well, maybe if you would let Jace punish me. This way I can stay,” she gulped visibly.

“Punish you? And what would that consist of?”

“Um, well…” Her face was beet red as humiliation set in. “He could, well, um, he could spank me. Like he does to Celeste.”

“He could what?! Let me talk to him. Jace, what’s this?”

“She wants a spanking, Charlie. A good, old fashioned spanking.”

“Really? I thought she was too old for that now. You still spank Celeste? Isn’t she nineteen now?”

“Celeste would have found herself bare-bottomed over my knee with an added dose of the hairbrush in this circumstance. I don’t put up with this type of behavior for a moment and my girl knows it. And she knows I will continue to spank that bare bottom as long as I feel she needs it. I don’t care how old she is. “

I hung my head as Cara’s eyes widened as she discovered the embarrassing fact that Jace exposed my bottom for view when I was punished.

“You go ahead and do what you think is best and please let me know how it goes,” Mr. Monroe said. “And tell my daughter that if it happens again, I will
also
blister that back-end.”

“Shall do, Charlie. Sorry about having to bother you.”

“Nah, I appreciate the call. Give me a holler later when you get the chance, okay?”

Jace looked at Cara after hanging up. “Are you sure you want to do this? I can get you on the next flight out.”

“Yes, Sir,” Cara nodded, eyes downcast. “But, do you have to, well…”

“Oh, yes, Ma’am. Those panties will be down and you will be across my knee. You will also taste the hairbrush. I want to make sure you know you were punished and also that the slate is clean,” Jace said, his voice very, very firm.

He sent Cara up to her room and asked me to retrieve the brush from his dresser drawer. Silently, I ascended the stairs with my friend and she followed me into Jace’s room while I picked up that nasty, menacing wooden hairbrush. We returned to her room where she sat down on her bed, nervously wringing her hands on her blouse.

“I warned you. Be careful what you wish for,” I said sympathetically.

“Is it gonna hurt that bad?” She was really scared now.

I nodded honestly. “Yeah, and you are going to want to run like the wind. And he’s way too strong to let you. But, after it’s over, he’ll make it better. He always makes it better. I gotta go before he comes up here. Good luck.” I kissed her cheek and scurried back downstairs where Jace was pacing the floor.

He finally stopped and looked at me. “Since when have
I
become the Dom for wayward teenage girls? Please tell me.” He looked upset.

I patted the couch and wrapped my arm around his, leaning my head against his shoulder.

“Didn’t you tell me that the need for structure and boundaries doesn’t stop once you turn eighteen?” I asked, kissing his shoulder. “She’s really scared, but she’s also curious. I told you that she has been asking questions since the moment she found out that you spanked me. I don’t think this was her exact plan on finding out what it was like, though,” I chuckled.

“Hopefully it will discourage her from further curiosity,” Jace sighed. “Do all the girls in my life end up subbys? Is that
my
doing?”

“No, I think they are drawn to you because, deep inside, that’s what they are. I mean, that’s how I feel. I’m just discovering how right you were about women with strong personalities needing to have a partner who is just as strong, and even more confident and decisive. I can’t respect an inconsistent or vacillating man, thanks to you and Mark. Not if I really want balance.”

“You are becoming so wise, my sweet, little submissive,” he praised, touching my lower lip with his thumb. “I hope you’re right. Okay. Would you please stay down here while I take care of this?”

“Yes, Sir. Jace?”

“What is it, Baby?”

“Don’t be too harsh. It’s her first time.”

“Yes, Ma’am.” Jace smiled, kissing my lips briefly. I grabbed his head and pressed his mouth against mine.

He slowly drew back, touched my cheek with a smile, and turned to leave.

My heart ached as I clearly heard the event taking place. Her muffled crying… Jace’s low firm tone… the sounds of his hand slapping against bare flesh… her pleas to stop punctuated with promises to be good and never fight again. I heard the crack of the hairbrush and her squawks of pain mingled with more begging, pleading and apologies.

It was over in less than five minutes of actual punishment, but I was willing to bet that it felt like a lifetime to her.

The sound of her sobbing and Jace’s gentle cooing traveled to my ears. I knew he was now comforting her and freeing her of guilt, and easily pictured her being held tightly in his strong arms and having her hair tenderly stroked by his heavy hands. I wondered if she felt the same amazement that I did by those hands and arms, a contrast of a tool and a weapon to be both loved and feared. They were capable of giving so much pain, yet able to soothe away any pain or hurt of the body or mind.

When Jace came down, I asked him how he was. He squeezed my hand. “I’m fine, Baby. This is my gig and you’re my primary sub, so I know you understand it. Did you hear anything?”

“Almost everything, sorry.”

He kissed my forehead and walked to the kitchen. I beamed. He truly named me as his
primary
for the first time! I trotted up to find Cara on her stomach, still crying softly.

“Hey, how're you doing?” I touched her shoulder.

“It HURT! It was nothing like I thought it would be. I never want to go through that again,” she began sobbing again.
