Axel turns his head as he brings his beer to his lips and nods. “I know you don’t need a babysitter, Samantha, but I enjoy our conversations,” he says, before he gives me the sexiest smile I have ever seen.

“It’s Sam and what conversations? We’ve sat here in silence most of the night! Go. Really, that girl is a hottie. You don’t have to give that up for silence with me.”

He looks at me and shakes his head and chuckles. What is with this guy always chuckling at me?

“I hear more in your silence than I would in an hour of conversation with her.”

I don’t know what to say. What do you say to something like that? Camaron finally comes back, a little sweaty from dancing, and wraps his arm around me. Axel grabs his beer and walks towards the hottie who was just here a few minutes ago, but stops next to my chair and bends down and whispers.

“She may be a little hottie, Samantha, but you . . . you are incredibly sexy,” he says before he walks away.

“You feel okay, Sam?”

“What? Of course why?”

“You just look flushed; what did he just say?” Camaron has a disturbed look on his face.

“What? Nothing, just said he would see me tomorrow at work.”

“Oh, okay,” Camaron says as he pulls me closer to him. “Well, beautiful, let’s finish our drinks and head home.”

After downing our drinks, Camaron grabs my hand, we say our goodbyes, and head home.

What the fuck am I doing? Damn, when I left Camaron’s place I told myself that I needed to keep my distance from Samantha. My plan was to head to Kester's, have a drink or two and then get my ass out of there. I needed to remember that not only was she my new employee, but she was Camaron’s best friend. This girl may be sexy as hell with her beautiful ivory skin, her long dark hair and curves I would love to grab a hold of. Yeah, but all signs say
Keep Away
, when it comes to her.

By the time I get to the bar, the guys and Carrie already have our table in the back. I motion to Gina to bring us a round. We have been coming here for years. Gina has hooked up with Camaron a few times and I wonder how this will go over. Gina has always warmed his bed whenever Camaron needed a lay, but she has always been a little jealous of any attention given to him by any other girls. Camaron doesn’t do emotions. The first time she became clingy, he booted her to the door. For a while, he stopped coming with us to Kester’s due to the awkward situation, but eventually Gina came in to the shop, got some ink, and all smoothed itself out. Yet, seeing Sam with Camaron, yeah, there may be some drama tonight. I take my seat just as I notice Camaron and Samantha making their way to the table.
Fuck, I have to turn away before I make a fool out of myself. She is rocking it with a pair of tight dark jeans and a sweater that shows how perfect her breasts are. Damn, look away Axel. Think of an old smelly vagina. Yeah, that does it.

After the introductions, I just sit back and watch. I could watch people all day. Seriously, people are so entertaining if you just relax and observe. I notice that Camaron is off playing pool with Paul, leaving Samantha sitting here by herself. What a fucking douchebag. He even heads off and dances with one of the local chicken heads. Yeah, what can I say, it doesn’t shock me that he is off looking to get laid and he leaves his best friend sitting here alone at table on her first night. The silence between us isn’t actually bad, it’s comfortable. Samantha is obviously not one of those chicks that talk nonstop, speaking of that . . . damn, I see Molly heading my way.  Molly makes her way to the table and actually sits right on my lap. I look up and see the shocked face that Samantha has right now. Molly starts to run her fingers up and down my arms, talking about my ink or some shit. I really ain’t paying attention, I just can’t take my eyes off of the brown haired beauty sitting across from me. Molly whispers in my ear that she is a bit hungry and wants to be fed. I shake my head and tell her I am busy and that I’ll catch up with her later.

“You don’t have to babysit me, you know,” Samantha says to me in her quiet little voice.

I turn my head and look at her, really look at her, as I bring the beer to my lips and nod. “I know you don’t need a babysitter, Samantha, but I enjoy our conversations,” I say.

The look on her face makes me smile. “It’s Sam and what conversations? We have sat here in silence most of the night! Go. Really, that girl is a hottie. You don’t have to give that up for silence with me.”

Is she being serious? I can’t believe that she would think that Molly would be better company. She is so blind it’s funny and I can’t help but shake my head and laugh. “I hear more in your silence than I would in an hour of conversation with her.”

I think I shocked the shit out of her, she is just staring at me, and I notice that Camaron is back and grabbed the seat next to her . I grab my beer and walk toward Molly, but stop next to Samantha's chair and bend down and whisper, “She may be a little hottie, Samantha, but you . . . you are incredibly sexy.”

I don’t wait for a response and can’t see her face for a reaction, I just walk toward Molly and hope that she is still hungry, as I really need to give relief to the blue balls I have going on here.

What the hell is that buzzing? I am surrounded by warmth and I don't want to move, but that damn buzzing won't stop. I open my eyes. I’m in Camaron's room, in his bed. Oh, it’s all coming back to me. We started to watch a movie and I must have fallen asleep. Yet, where else was I going to sleep? My stuff hasn’t arrived yet and sleeping next to Cam, well, it just feels right. We are spooning right now and I can’t help wanting to moan as I feel him against me. He starts to stir so I quickly close my eyes. He reaches over me and shuts off the buzzing noise I assume is coming from his alarm clock. I’m as still as a board and feel him above me as he slowly glides his hand up and down my arm. I start to move my butt against him and, immediately, I’m alone.

Camaron stops and gets up from the bed. I hear the shower turn on. Damn, for just a moment, life was perfect. I get up, make the bed, and shuffle off to my empty room. I need to get ready for my first day of work. I really don’t know why it takes so long for me to decide what to wear, since I always wear dark jeans and a conservative top. Being a size fourteen, I’ve learned that I need to wear clothing that slims my curves.

After picking out my dark, boot cut jeans, along with a white tunic top, I hear the shower shut off and shuffling at my door. The door opens and I turn to see Camaron standing in my doorway, wearing nothing but a towel.
Damn, it’s hanging low.

“Morning, Beautiful, I love the fact that I can actually say good morning to you rather than text it to you.” He grins at me with that perfect smile.

“I know, right, it is pretty awesome,” I say, my face is not giving the emotions that I am feeling away.

Dear Lord, I can’t take my eyes off him. His body has always been fit, but damn, he’s been working out. His pecks are delicious and he has a few more tattoos since I last saw him. He has a green dragon covering his left peck and, is that an anchor on his right? I stand up from my suitcase and position myself right in front of him because I need to see this up close.

“So, Cam, what do we have here?” I point to his anchor. It is gorgeous. It takes up the whole right peck. It’s black and grey and has a banner that starts at the top and goes around the anchor it reads:
My Constant, My Sam

Holy Shit, he inked my name on him!
I can feel him looking at me as I’m staring at his tattoo. I bring my hand up and trace the banner ever so gently. I look up and he is smiling at me.

“When did you get this?”

“I actually got that the week I moved here”

“Really?”

“Yeah, I couldn't stand the fact that you weren't here with me—this way, you always were.” I’m speechless and I have tears in my eyes. “Enough of the sappy emotions, we have ten minutes to get to work”

“Isn't work just down stairs?”

“Yep, so hurry your beautiful ass up, babe.”

I stand there for a moment, still shocked that Camaron has an anchor tattooed to his body and the best part is he has my name across it. I grab my makeup bag and head to the bathroom to finish getting ready for work. I look at myself in the mirror as I apply my face, which is only some powder and Chap Stick, and I can’t stop from smiling. I feel it deep down in my soul that this was the right move and Camaron and I’ll be living our dreams.

We head downstairs to the already open shop. I realize it’s been open for the past hour and I feel absolutely horrible that I’m late. When we walk in, I see that the shop is gorgeous and packed for a Monday afternoon. To the right is the seating area. There are five people sitting on the black leather couches, some are filling out forms and the others are looking through, what I would assume are, the portfolio binders. Straight ahead is Carrie sitting behind the glass check out desk. She looks positively adorable. She is wearing a hot pink sundress that has black polka dots all over it, her brown hair is pulled into pigtails, and she has a black choker on with a huge pendant that reads AWESOME.

She turns and lowers the music that is playing over the speakers and screams, “Hey, Pricks, our new Rice Cake is here!”

I turn and look and hear all the guys and some of the clients, say, “Hi, Rice Cake!”

I look at Carrie completely confused. “Rice Cake?” I ask her.

She is smiling ear to ear. “Yeah, Sam, I gave you a new nickname, Rice Cake.”

“Oh, okay . . . why Rice Cake?”

She comes around the desk and wraps her arm around me. “Because they are so plain and healthy for you and, babe, you have no ink. Compared to all the junk food you’re surrounded by in here, with these pricks, you’re a breath of fresh air.” I can’t help but giggle at her explanation. She looks at Camaron and nods toward the seating area. “I’ll take Rice Cake to her office, you go get your station ready, your first appointment is already here, you prick.”

Camaron just laughs her off. “Have a great day, beautiful. If you need anything just let me know,” he says as he walks off towards the back.

“Let’s go, Rice Cake. I’ll show you your office and then I’ll show you around the shop.” I follow Carrie down a hallway to the left. As we pass the first two rooms, she tells me that those are the piercing rooms and continues on. We pass another room on the right, which would appear to be the stock room, and come to the end where there are two rooms left: one on the right and one on the left. Carrie opens the right door and I see a desk, along with a brown and yellow couch. “Voila, here is your new office, the couch was Camaron’s idea. He said you would love it.”

“Wow.” Yeah, that is all I can say—the couch is hideous. I don’t even think a homeless man would want to put this in his box. Yeah, it’s that bad. I hear Carrie laughing as she sees the scared expression I have while I am looking at this thing.

“I know, right, he was adamant about putting the couch in here.”

I just look up at her and smile. “It’s beautiful and I love it.” She keeps laughing.

“How can you say that with a serious face? It is the ugliest couch I have ever seen. You keep telling yourself it’s beautiful. Okay, here is your desk and the computer and I went ahead and put the receipt files and purchase orders, as well as the passcodes to all the accounts right here next to your keyboard. Just make sure to hide them, not that anyone ever comes back here, for safety.”

“Absolutely, I will.”

“Cool beans, RC. I better head back out there before those pricks mess up my system.” She laughs as she leaves my office and heads back to the front.

I open up my desk drawer and put my bag inside. I look around, it’s a cute space with two shelves and a nice brown desk to match my hideous couch. I turn on the computer and start looking through the files that Carrie left for me this morning. Damn, there is no real system here. I am looking at a file of receipts, they are all mixed together, and the purchase orders are the exact same way. I start to organize them by date when I hear a knock on the door. I look up to see Axel standing in the doorway.
