"Roydon, she's over here!" shouted Brand's voice.
I took a fucking deep breath.
*
And indeed, sprawled on the ground of these insalubrious Catacombs, here was Gioia. Roydon picked her up and she fell against his torso, her chest weaving with unrestrained tears. He embraced her fiercely, let her lose herself in the comfort of his arms.
"Gioia, it's allright. Hush."
He held her. That was the only important thing.
"I can't move my leg" she said between sobs.
"You must have been shot with paralyzing serum." said Brand.
"Isn't that almost a witch confession?" asked Roydon.
Brand's stare was focused on something behind them.
"We have more than that here" he said "just read the writing on the wall."
Roydon and Gioia turned their heads to see the handwritten graffiti:
Roydon Thamesian,
I shall expect to see you tomorrow. Camberwell College.
"We're going back to the hotel" said Roydon.
Brand quickly took a picture of the graffiti with his Iphone.
I just wanted to leave the whole place. I tried to stop my crying.
Huddled against Roydon's chest, I could feel the burning of his flesh, he was unbound in his rage.
"I've been toyed with since the beginning. Now let's see if they can do better." he said.
"Camberwell College of Arts seems almost juvenile for a business like that." said Brand.
"Well, we have an appointment tomorrow. I intent on being there."
I had been targeted God only knows why besides leaving this dramatic message.
My head pounded and as Roydon carried me out of the underground passage, I was discombobulated. An extraordinary amount of energy was being spent into luring Roydon to the auction sale.
I closed my eyes as we went through the crowd. Let them believe I had passed out from too much drinking.
I breathed in Roydon's perfume. Intoxicating myself into solace for my currently out of order leg.
Roydon carefully wrapped me in my jacket and Brand hailed a cab. I could have found myself in worse company.
A thick fog had fallen over the Underwold.
"When will it wear off?" I finally asked.
"Probably before morning. Depends on the dosage."
I was sitting askew, my leg astride Roydon. Brand ostentatiously adverted his eyes.
Strange display of decency from him.
Roydon touched my leg and I knew that if it hadn't been paralysed, it would have jerked in an uncontrollable shiver of excitement.
"It is still completely numb?"
I watched his well manicured fingers, his handsome hands against my insensitive flesh.
"Completely." I said distractedly.
"I will take care of the one who did that" he whispered into my ear, even though I was sure Brand had heard him for he smiled a little too inconspicuously.
*
The attackers knew something true about him, once he was out of, he did never stepped back. Even more if provocated. He touched Gioia's calf from the tips of his fingers. No harm could befall her without retribution.
The auction sale would be full of deceits. He rarely attended art auction sales in person, sending an intermediate.
Few collections attracted his interest. He tried to imagine who could want to exhibit the Lancasters as pieces of art.
Vampires, who for their slumbering ways were still very much alive.
Hendry was whimsical yet powerful.
And he'd rather not think about the three others.
One must be out of their mind to covet them. Or knowing exactly how to make them harmless.
*
When Roydon took me out of the cab, I thought I was beginning to feel some tingles in my leg. Brand had left us to go back to Soho, with a last lazy smile he had gone into the night.
"I kind of like your brother.Women must fall in hate with him." I said.
Roydon catlike eyes gave me a heavy stare.
"Did you?"
"What do you think?"
The possibility of the tiniest touch of jealousy in him had me hysterical with need.
Roydon settled me on the couch.
His unruffled appearance was bursting at the seams. Bearded face I would beg to have him scratch me, neck corded muscles, eyes aglow.
For once, he had let go of his suit and wore a white T-shirt and leather jacket. I never thought I could use these words to describe holy Roydon Thamesian but he was one scruffy mess. Regardless of my feeless leg, my whole body was on fire, only waiting for a cue from Roydon.
I was trying to let him know with my great telepathic skills. He didn't get the message, as he stood fiddling with his phone.
Because I was in London, the suite living room sizzled, the City lights shoved in my face, swaying within the limits of fantasy and joyful drunkenness I stood up.
I stood up. Raw need was a miracle maker.
And I launched myself, assaulting Roydon's big body, my trembling hands searching blindly for his skin. He caught me by the waist ''Should I file for harassment, Ms. Di Terzi?" he whispered.
He slided his hand on my leg and this time, the reborn thing felt too much and I went weak in the knees. "Seems like that leg is working just fine again."
His thumb brushed my ankle.
*
This was it. Time to stop with the internal battle. Yes it went against its principles to want a human. Too much, too deep.
But Gioia was the flaw in his system.
Roydon kissed to learn her skin, the inside of her knee. He felt her pulse against his lips, impossible to resist. Alive and shuddering, Gioia's sigh was moist with unsaid desire.
*
He was making the Gangsta writhe and the scoundrel whimper.
I fell backward into the couch again, Roydon's lips latched on mine. I couldn't take my tongue off him. He ran his hands over my hips and I felt as if the fabric of my dress was an evil thing trying to thwart his caresses.
"Lie down" he said
taking complete control of me.
I didn't protest at all, brains extinction, he rolled on top of me.
This was the sexiest thing ever.
"I don't do vampires." I told to the crook of his strong neck.
"I'm not into humans."
Yet he seemed quite eager to sink into me, and I'm not speaking about fangs.
I took off his jacket, nostrils filled with the scent of leather.
His golden beard rasped my skin, leaving a burning trail.
Our kissing reached an uneven rhythm, as if we were fighting against each other's mouth. Throwing all caution to the wind, I guided his hands under my dress.
"Roydon Thamesian" I whispered with a shaky voice, just in case he had forgotten his own name. He had turned me into a human vamp groupie. Fuck.
He had lost the gentleman and tumbled me to straddle him. I felt naked before him and it made me feel good, not ashamed in the slightest. Heady experience, he stripped my naked of all of my inhibitions.
With some kind of inhuman animalistic instinct, he had ripped the upper part of my black dress, ''Can I?" he asked nonetheless.
I kissed him yes.
His phone rang in his pocket.
Talk about anticlimatic.
Roydon savage hands reluctantly tore off from my hair. Inches from my mouth, he answered.
I was so mesmerized by him I didn't listen. Which says a lot.
"Okay, thanks."
He pressed his face against my cheek.
"Sorry to have to say it now but we have a password." he finally said.
*
He ached from this torture almost there feeling with Gioia.
She was flawless. He wanted to paw her black bra and bite at her chest.
She rolled off him, her whole face disappearing under the weight of her blond hair.
"Come on tell, me' she said with a huff ''What is it?"
"Guildhall Guardian."
"Quite groundbreaking. And we needed a hacker for that."
He slowly rose from the couch, trying to deflect his dolorous arousal.
He turned his back on Gioia and entered into the auction website with:
Roydecoeur
Guildhall Guardian

Roydon handed his phone to Gioia.
"I expected something more...
mysterious
." she said.
"Well we are British, our mystery side can't merely run free from practicality."
I didn't want to let something colder settle between us. Not like that.
We got everything for tomorrow, that was great but I was sitting there with my ripped dress dangling over my cleavage like a scarecrow.
I caught Roydon's stare straight on my breasts. Game on. Unfairly he had reduced me to a needy thing, who how matter hard she tried couldn't shake off the want.
"Come here, scoundrel'' he said.
He drew me to his beautiful lips again.
"I think our team has something to celebrate' he said.
Our team. Roydon Thamesian and I.
I could live on this sentence for the rest of my life. I could build a house from these two words and dwell in it for ever.
"Does this mean you want to sleep with me?" I asked.
"Bloody Hell Gioia, can't this gangsta let me do the wooing?"
I laughed.
"Very well, my Lord Thamesian, woo away."
Into his own bedroom. No lights except the city's electric glimmer coming from the balcony.
So this was really going to happen. It felt as if I was living someone's else life.
Restrained against the bay window of a London luxury hotel while a hybrid vampire stood behind me in all his male glory.
Roydon kissed my shoulders. "Take off your dress."
I felt the coldness of his watch run down my spine.
He cracked a condom open.
"You've been planning this" I whispered. "From when?"
Roydon stubble gently prickled my shoulder blades.
"The Underworld's dance floor."
" This one definitely gave me away' I said grinding against him.
Roydon had trapped me with his hands on the glass.
I was seized by vertigo.
"I've never wanted someone more than I want you."
There was no other way to say it.
Roydon's hard on twitched against my back.
"Turn around, Ms. Di Terzi.' he said.
And now it turned me on when he was being formal.
It was unendurable to look at him.
Not for mere aesthetic beauty. Every inch of his face, his eyes reflecting back the shine of London cityscape, the gorgeous stubbornness of his lips, the tamed masculinity breaking loose. As if he was almost truly mine.
His tongue invaded my lips, I gave in immediately.
He opened my inner thighs with his leg. I was breathless, my heart playing a mad drum.
"Close your eyes "he said.
*
Roydon's recognize some effect of the Stonehenge in his frantic need to have her. He wanted to wreck havoc in Gioia's body. He tried to subdue it as much as he could.
But she was naked against the windowglass, the penumbra of the room coupled with the exterior light and shadows painting her curves.
He took one of her nipples in his mouth, ravenously.
