~Melia~

I sat completely dumbfounded by the words he’d uttered. The sincere way they rolled off his tongue like they weren’t coming from his head but his heart. He didn’t have to think about them, they just were. I had gone and gotten my hair done, bought the sexiest dress and heels I could find and called Monk to see if there were any parties going on. There was always a party being planned. To my surprise there’d been one happening that night, so I’d rushed back to my hotel room and gotten ready and Monk picked me up. When we arrived, the last thing I had expected was to see Wrench charging through the room like a bull racing after a red flag.

Seeing him pull Monk’s arm back like he had, I couldn’t handle it. I didn’t want to watch Monk get beat up because of me again. The last thing I had expected was what had happened. I had hoped, prayed, he’d missed me, thought of me as much as I had thought of him. When we’d stood there staring at each other, I saw more in his eyes than he could possibly know. It was clear to me at that moment that I loved him and he loved me. Over bearing, assholish and sexy as fuck, and he was all mine.

However, when he brought me up to his room, I had expected sweaty sex, not him on his knees pouring his heart out to me. Like I was any better at the heart to heart shit. It took me a few minutes to gather my response. Running my fingers through his silk-like hair, made me smile. I loved his hair, I loved everything about him and he had no idea. Apparently I was better at hiding my emotions than I knew.

Dragging my thumb over his scratchy day old beard, I hooked it under his chin and made him look at me. As I put more pressure under his chin he stood, I followed, looking up into his eyes. Resting both palms on his chest, I slid them under his cut, pushing it slowly off his shoulders.

“Patrick,” I sighed, still trying to put my thoughts together. “You are more than I could ever ask for. Maybe too much at times, but it will definitely keep things interesting. As much patience as I’ll need for you, you’ll need to have for me as well. I, too, am a mess and have no idea how to make this thing between us work. If you are willing to try, then so am I.” Sliding my hands under his shirt, I pulled it over his head. “One day, one fight, one sarcastic remark at a time. The only thing that matters is we both want to be together. Fuck the rest. Well, let me take that back. Fuck another woman and I’ll cut your dick off. I will not share you and I don’t want you to share me.” Grabbing his cock through his jeans, I smiled. “This? This beast is mine. All mine. Got it?”

Wrench chuckled deep in his chest, but nodded.

“I’m not fucking kidding.” I squeezed him a little harder. It was my one hard line that would not move.

“Little one, I get it. I’m not dipping my wick in any other candle. I haven’t since I was last with you. The only woman I want is you.” He kissed me softly. I released my hold on him and started unbuckling his belt.

“With everything all cleared up, are you going to fuck me? I’ve been waiting for a good, hard fuck since I first showed up here and heard about you.” Tugging apart the button on his jeans, I shoved my hand in his boxer briefs to cup his cock.

“All you have to do is ask.” Wrench shoved his pants and briefs to the floor and stepped out of them, my hand sliding up and down his shaft the whole time. “Impatient much?”

“I’m hungry.” I slowly licked my lips. Pulling me into his arms, Wrench reached behind me and in the blink of an eye, my dress was on the floor.

“Fuck,” Wrench groaned seeing me stand naked before him while I was still caressing his cock. Sliding his hands from my shoulders over my breasts to my waist and around to cup my ass, he took in my whole body in one fluid move. He stepped us backwards to the bed as he kissed the side of my neck. I tried to turn around and bend over the bed, but he stopped me. Lifting my hips, he sat me on the edge of the bed then reached between us and glided his cock through my slit. Teasing me, he slapped it against my clit a few times making my head drop back and a moan slipped out. “No. Look, Melia. Watch.”

Pushing up farther on my arms, I looked down to watch as he slowly disappeared into me. It was hard to keep my eyes open at the sweet feeling of being filled, stretched. Biting down hard on my bottom lip, I managed to keep watching until he was fully seated in me. Pulling back, I watched as his slick cock slid back out. One slow, erotic thrust in and an almost painfully slow withdrawal and I was ready to come.

Wrench groaned and leaned forward to drop a kiss on my lips. “I wanted to do it slow and show you just how good it fucking feels, but its killing me.”

Cupping both his cheeks in my palms, I grinned. “Fuck me hard, Patrick.”

Throwing caution to the wind, his hips bucked and thrust, shoving his length into me hard and deep. Over and over he sank into me, making me moan with the intensity of it. Watching the muscles in his chest and abdomen flex with each thrust only pushed me that much faster toward the edge. When he reached behind me, pulling my hair back so he could bite my neck, I fell over the cliff as waves of searing hot pleasure crashed over me. Moments later, he followed me, filling me with his release.

Falling back on the bed, I breathed hard. Wrench arms kept him from collapsing on top of me.

“Fuck, that’s what I needed.” I moaned, running a hand softly over his shoulder and down his arm.

Wrench slowly blinked open his eyes. “Yeah,” he sighed.

Something was off though. I picked up on it instantly. “What?” We hadn’t even caught out breath after sex and already we were into an issue.

“You’re not pregnant anymore.”

I nearly laughed at his response. “Really? You just noticed?” I screwed up my face knowing I was missing what he was really trying to say.

“I didn’t use a rubber.” He sighed again, pulling out of my body.

“I’m on birth control.” I shook my head. “No worries.”

“Guess I can let you in on a secret no one else knows. You don’t need to be. I had a vasectomy years ago.” Wrench lay on the bed next to me, moving me so we were both on the pillows at the top.

“Why would that be a secret?” I didn’t understand why it even mattered. He rubbed a hand over his face before turning on his side.

“I don’t want to tell you. I just got you back. My dirty laundry might be the stick that breaks everything again.” Wrench frowned.

“Patrick, you can tell me. Let it out.” I caressed the side of his face, letting my hand trail down the top of his chest.

“Long, long time ago, I had a girlfriend,” he started. I already had a feeling I knew where it was headed with that one word, but I stayed quiet. “We were fairly serious. I thought I loved her, I guess you could say. Well, even though I always used a rubber, one day she turned up pregnant. Not that she told me. She never once said a word to me about it. I only found out later what had happened. She waited a few weeks while she debated on what she was going to do, then went to one of those clinics. Without ever talking to me about what I might want her to do, she had an abortion.”

“If she did it without talking to you about it, how’d you find out?” I asked when he stayed silent for a few moments.

“When she broke up with me for her new boyfriend, the bastard she’d been cheating on me with, she said, ‘Oh and by the way, you were going to be a daddy, but I knew you wouldn’t be able to handle it so I got rid of the baby.’ Just like that. As if it was no big thing.” Wrench shook his head as he again ran his hand over his face. “I wouldn’t have. Not at that time, but it wasn’t even an option. Just because she was the one that carried the baby, she only worried about what she wanted to do. I never told anyone about it. A couple weeks later I got a vasectomy. I didn’t want any other woman having that over me again. Ryan had just moved into my house. Taking care of her and seeing everything she needed, even though she was a teenager, that turned me off from ever wanting kids anyway. I just made sure of it. Rubbers were for protection and so no broad could try to say I got her knocked up.”

“You were just a kid. Ryan moved in when you were nineteen. I’m surprised they let you have one so young.” I couldn’t believe at that age he’d already made up his mind that he didn’t want kids.

“I know what you’re thinking, but kids just aren’t part of my lifestyle. Not once have I regretted the decision in all the years since I had it done. Ryan’s kids are the first ones I’ve ever been around and they’re so tiny they scared the crap out of me at first.” He shrugged. “And money talks. Pay enough and you’ll be able to find a doctor to do whatever you want.”

As if on cue, the distinct wail of a baby could be heard in the distance.

“Is that the babies? They’re home already? Can I see them?” I asked sitting up, forgetting the conversation we’d been having.

“Sure. You’ll have to get dressed first though. They have a nurse in there.” Wrench gave me a crooked smile as he climbed out of the bed. I jumped up and pulled on the shirt he’d been wearing. “As much as I’d love to have you walk around in just that, it’s not quite long enough.” Wrench laughed and threw a pair of shorts at me from a drawer in his dresser. Sliding on the soft shorts and rolling up the waist until they’d stay on by themselves, I walked to the door.

Wrench reached out and pulled me to his chest, sinking a hand into my hair.

“Hey. I have one more thing to tell you before we leave this room,” Wrench murmured before laying a light kiss on my cheek.

“What’s that?” I asked, trying to suppress my excitement at seeing the babies.

“I love you,” Wrench whispered into my ear as his hands slid up my back, holding me tightly to him. I returned the tight embrace and put my lips against his ear.

“I love you more,” I whispered just as softly.

“I’d like to challenge you on that, but let’s go see the little ones before they go back to sleep.” Wrench wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me close to him as he walked across the hall.

With a soft rap, he pushed open the door to my old bedroom, although it was completely changed. There was no longer a bed, but two large cribs, numerous toys and baby stuff along with some medical equipment that I had to assume was for the babies.

There was a woman in scrubs sitting in a rocking chair with a bottle in one hand and a baby in the other. She smiled when she saw Wrench and stood.

“Mia is looking for you,” the nurse said, handing the baby over to Wrench. “I’ll leave you two. Let me know if you need anything. Once you feed Mia the bottle just leave it on the counter so I can document how much she ate.”

“Okay.” Wrench smiled at me. I stared at the tiny baby in his arm that he was obviously used to holding. “Come meet the girls. Mia and Leah.”

I snapped my eyes up to him at the names. He winked at me.

“Named after someone very important to them. Would you like to hold her? Well, Leah is the calmer of the two. Mia is fussy over who she likes.” Wrench’s eyes twinkled when he talked about them. I couldn’t believe he thought he’d make a bad father.

“I’d love to hold either of them. I’m afraid I don’t know what to do with them though.” I’d never held a baby before.

“Sit down, I’ll bring her to you.” He scooped the other baby out of her crib and brought her over to me, setting her gently in my arm. “Perfect. You’re a natural.”

“Funny. I never really thought I wanted kids. They are so damn precious though.” I ran my finger over her chubby cheek.

“I think you’d make a wonderful mother. You are everything a mother should be.” Wrench was dead serious as he sat on the footstool facing me.

“I think you’d make a pretty damn good father,” I said, without thinking what I was implying.

“Maybe one day.”

“Maybe one day,” I repeated.

Six Months Later

~Patrick~

Today was the big day. Dirty and Ryan were getting married. The so-called ‘big event’. I was ready for it to be over already. I didn’t get what the fuss was all about. It was a clearly a woman thing. I was walking Ryan down the aisle to Dirty. Beautiful Melia was walking down with both babies as long as they were cooperating. The little buggers were such a handful, but so sweet at the same time.

Sometimes I’d think about Melia being pregnant again, with my child. Sometimes I’d swear I was never having kids. Funny how being around kids could make you want them and not want them at the same time.

Checking on Ryan one final time to make sure she was almost ready, I went down to make sure Dirty and everyone else were set. At Ryan’s insistence all the men were in suits. She said she didn’t care if everyone hated them, it was her day and it was only for an hour so everyone had to suck it up. All the men were still bitching in the meeting room where they were congregating. Walking out of the room, I was assaulted by a pair of lips on mine.
