"Good idea but no," he said before heading back to the bathroom. "I'll be right back."

He disappeared from view for a couple of seconds before reappearing. He had with him a box of condoms and he slapped them down on the bedside table. "This time, I'm prepared."

Christina looked at the box and quirked an eyebrow at him, "That's ambitious; a whole box?"

"With you, I think I'm going to need them all," he announced as he proudly stood naked at the foot of the bed, looking down on her, still wrapped in that oversized towel.

"So, what's my punishment going to be?" she prodded him with her foot, giving him a challenging look.

"This," he said, then grabbed each of her ankles and suddenly dragged her to the foot of the bed where he was standing. Christina screamed with laughter as her towel twisted off.

He had such a wicked gleam in his eyes and Christina was already hot for whatever he was planning. She tried squirming out of his grip but he was holding on tight. She could feel the heat and strength emanating from his steely fingers.

"You're not getting away so easily, Miss Christina," he threatened. "You're going to take your licks… and like it."

"What do you mean… my licks?" she questioned.

"I mean that I'm hungry and I'm going to eat you up," he announced, as he yanked her forward even more so that her derriere was resting on the edge of the bed. Christina squealed again and he parted her legs.

"If this a punishment, then what's a reward?" Christina saucily threw at him, still giggling.

"You'll have to wait to find that one out. In the meantime, I've been fantasizing about doing this to you for weeks."

He went down on bended knee in front of her and parting her thighs even more, lowered his head between her legs. At the instant his hot mouth touched her delicate parts, Christina let out a gasp and threw her head back. What he was doing to her felt so good and her mind could focus on nothing else but the exquisite pleasure he was giving her.

And he was doing it all ever so slowly and expertly.

Every lick and flick was tattooing itself on her brain, and when she felt his hot, wet tongue dip inside her, she lost it.

Christina began to moan and she couldn't stop. Wow, he really was good at—farming! Those college credits had been well earned.

Christina arched her back against him and she could feel herself on the verge of exploding. Her breathing quickened and she suddenly felt herself reach the point of no return.

She came in his mouth and she spasmed against him.

Returning back to reality, she looked down at him. He had lifted his head and was studying her with a smoldering expression. He came up to her face then and she saw his mouth was wet with her juices.

"Kiss me and taste yourself," he ordered.

And with another low moan, Christina did just that. She just couldn't get enough of him—and he couldn't get enough of her.

For the rest of the night, they made love and when they were finished, he wrapped his arms around her and they spooned together, falling asleep in that position. His body was telling her that now that he had found her, he wasn't letting her go.

And he held her tight to him even in his deepest sleep.

Chapter 58

The next morning, Christina awoke first. She was still being held tightly in his arms and she had her back to him. She turned her head to get a good look at his sleeping face. He looked so rested and peaceful—and happy.

Christina bit her lip nervously and turned her head away. Her little voice was nagging her again to tell him everything now. Confess it all—this morning—in this bed—with his strong arms wrapped around her. Tell him who you are and what you did. He'll forgive you and you can move forward, and you can marry him with total honesty between the two of you. No more lies. No more games. No more deceptions. Clean the slate. He'll understand—but you have to tell him now.

Christina was so scared.

Last night had been amazing and wonderful and perfect. They had loved each other in body and soul, and she didn't want the memory of that to be marred in any way. This had been their first night together—and maybe—this morning was not a good time to spill secrets. They should get to know each other first, spend more time together as a couple, make love more—and then the right moment would present itself and she would tell him everything then. She'd definitely tell him everything before the wedding—or maybe after the wedding. He might be mad but he'd forgive her, wouldn't he?

But the little voice kept droning on in Christina's mind. The moment is now, it said. Tell him now and he'll forgive you.

A deep frown crossed Christina's brow and she bit her lip even more at her undecided thoughts.

Bill had been intently studying her worried face for the past minute. He had awoken a few minutes before and for a split second, before he'd opened his eyes, he'd thought that last night had all been a dream—that they hadn't made love, or told each other how they felt—that she still hated him.

But then he'd felt her warm, soft, naked body wrapped in his arms and knew it had been real. He'd opened his eyes then, ready to tell her how much he loved her when he'd seen the sour, worried expression on her beautiful face. She was staring up at the ceiling, biting her lip and clearly distressed about something.

Bill felt as if someone had punched him in the stomach. Was she regretting last night? Did it seem a mistake in the morning when everything came back down to reality? Did she maybe not love him after all? Had she changed her mind about that—about him? Maybe she wanted her freedom and didn't want to marry him? Maybe—? The 'maybes' swirled in his brain until he couldn't stand it anymore.

"What are you thinking about?" he whispered, desperate to know her thoughts.

He felt her flinch in his arms, obviously surprised at having been caught out; and Bill didn't like that response one bit. It boded ill for him.

She turned to him and smiled—that beautiful, sweet smile of hers that melted his heart every time he saw it.

"I was thinking about that large food stain we made on the rug last night. Do you think it's going to come out?" she laughed.

It wasn't what she had been thinking about—and Bill knew it. "Are you sure that's all you were thinking about?" Bill asked, now scared out of his wits to know the answer; and his arms tightened around her even more.

Christina anxiously looked at him. 'Tell him' her little voice was now screaming in her head, 'tell him everything—he'll understand and he'll forgive you.'

"I was thinking about… how much I love you… and what I'd do if I ever lost you."

Christina had chickened out. She couldn't tell him today, she just couldn't. Maybe she'd tell him tomorrow. The right moment would present itself and she would know. She'd tell him everything then but not today, not right now.

What Christina didn't know was that today—right now—had been the right moment and she had let it slip away forever. There would never be another right moment again.

At her words of love, Bill breathed a huge sigh of relief. "You're not going to lose me, Christina. I love you and nothing's going to change that. What I said to you last night, and what we did together, that was the truth…and in a couple of week's, we're going to be married and nothing and no one is going to come between us, I promise you."

Christina turned around in his arms then so that she was facing him and smiled, relieved at not having had to tell him about her duplicity.

"Got time for a quickie?" she winked at him.

Bill laughed, relieved that she still loved him. "You are insatiable," he exclaimed.

Christina grabbed a lock of his hair and started to play with it. "But you're so good at it, my darling, that you're addictive."

"Well, I do have to get to the office early this morning since I've got an appointment with my old man… actually it's more of a summons really… but…" He let the word linger… "I think I could squeeze you in."

"Squeeze all you like," Christina giggled, as he reached for her again.

It was still early morning and Christina had gone back to her own bedroom after Bill had left for the office. The morning had been wonderful. They had made mad, passionate love again and then Christina had helped Bill pick out his suit and get ready for the office even to the point of knotting his tie for him.

He'd given her a deep kiss before he'd left—wanting to make sure she remembered how much he loved her and he'd told her again how much 'in love' he was with her. Nothing—and no one was going to come between them—ever—she could bank on that, he'd said.

After he'd left, Christina went back to her own bedroom and telephoned Jenny. Her friend was still at home and hadn't left for work yet.

On hearing Christina's voice at that time of morning, Jenny was immediately worried. "Chrissy, is something wrong?" Jenny instantly asked.

"No, Jenny; everything's right for a change," Christina dreamily announced. "He told me he loves me and wants to marry me for real."

"Really? And did you tell him how you feel?"

"Yes. I told him I love him too and we spent all night making love," Christina sighed. She still couldn't believe how well things had turned out for her.

"And is he hot in bed?" Jenny squeaked out.

"Raging inferno hot! Remember all those stories we used to hear in school about how good he was?"

"Yeah…"

"He's even better."

Jenny giggled. "Oh Chrissy, I'm so happy for you. You do really love him, don't you? Truly?"

"Yes, I do, with all my heart. He's not the same person he was back then and I've come to know him better and I'm crazy about him. And he loves me too."

"This is fantastic! I had a feeling you two would end up together. Too much karma between you and all. And I suspected you always had a crush on him in high school even though you'd never admitted it to me."

Christina laughed. "You know me better than I know myself! I always did think he was kind of cute back then, even if he was a big, drunken rat."

Jenny laughed too. "And what did he say when you told him about what happened back then between you two? And about your little plan to get even with him?" There was silence on the other end of the phone, as Christina kept quiet. "Chrissy…?"

"What?"

"What did he say?"

Christina remained silent again.

"Chrissy… I'm getting a bad vibe here."

"What vibe?" Christina was evasive.

"Christina Matteo, you didn't tell him, did you?"

Christina's response was slow in coming out. "Nooooo…

not exactly."

"Oh, Chrissy!" Jenny let out an exasperated sigh.

"I'll tell him everything, I will."

"When?"

"Soon. Before the wedding. I will. I just couldn't tell him today. He was so happy… and this was our first night together and I want him to get to know me better first."

"Chrissy, tell him now. Today. Don't wait. Please."

"I will tell him… soon. I promise. I know what I'm doing, Jenny. Trust me."

Jenny let out another sigh. "Okay, it's your life. But make sure you tell him. Don't wait!"

"I will, I promise." Christina quickly changed the subject. "Jenny, could you do me a favor? Could you just go in and make sure everything's okay at my apartment? I don't think I'll be coming back there for a while. Just keep an eye on things?"

"Sure, no problem; and Chrissy, I really am happy for you! But tell him soon. I want to meet the rat bastard again and be a real maid of honor at your wedding and I can't do that until he knows the truth."

Christina laughed again. "I promise you, Jenny. I'll take care of everything before the wedding."

After she hung up, Jenny shook her head. She had a bad feeling about this and her 'feelings' seemed to be right lately.

Chrissy should have told him everything right away. The longer she waited, the angrier he might be when he did eventually find out what she had really been up to. Jenny had learnt from her own ill-fated marriage that mistrust and lies could kill love faster than even another woman.

Before heading off to work, Jenny let herself into Christina's apartment. She took a quick look around.

Everything seemed to be in order. As she made her way to the kitchen, Jenny spotted the manila envelope addressed to William that Christina had unintentionally left propped up against a drinking glass on the table.

It was the 'blackmail' envelope that Christina had prepared for William with the pictures of Bill associating with the GME group. It also contained her pasted note with the message, 'Every Caesar has a Brutus – Look to the Son', clearly spelling out Bill's betrayal of his father.

Thinking it was just outgoing mail that Christina had left for her to post, Jenny grabbed it and dropped it into a mailbox on her way to work.

Bill walked into his father's office. William was already sitting behind his desk, controlling his business empire. He looked up when he heard his son walk in.

"You're on time for a change," he quipped, in his British accent.

"You barked, I crawled," Bill smirked.

"Still the wise ass? Something you got from your mother, no doubt."

"Oh, I don't know, dad. You can be quite the wise ass yourself."

William shot him a dirty look but didn't respond to the crack. Instead, he reached for a legal document in front of him and handed it to his son. "Here."

Taking it, Bill looked at the paper. "What's this?"

"Your pre-nuptial agreement, for Christina to sign."

"What?" Astounded, Bill gasped.

"It's very generous, I assure you. In case of a divorce, she'll get a lump sum of two million dollars plus one million for every year you two are married."

Bill's blood pressure shot up. "How dare you draw up this piece of crap!"

"Of course, I dare. It's my money and one day it'll all be yours, and your children's. We have to protect ourselves."

"You can keep your goddamn money. I never asked for it."

"No but you've got it anyway. And I want you and me protected. You never know how these things work out. We have to be sensible."

"I will not ask Christina to sign a pre-nup. Whatever's mine is hers and that's final." Bill was adamant and he wasn't budging.

"Oh, don't be daft. Everybody in our circle does this. She'll understand."

"My answer is no," Bill forcefully shouted, as he ripped the pre-nup in half. "I love her and she loves me. I'm going to share everything with her. That's what love means. And you can take this goddamn agreement and shove it up your rich, billionaire ass." Bill threw the torn pieces down on his dad's desk.

"Watch how you bloody hell speak to me. I'm still your father!" Angry, William shot out of his chair.

"Well, start acting like it then," Bill shouted back, before stalking out.

As the door slammed behind him, a stunned William plopped down in his chair.

"My god, he really loves her! The boy really loves her!" he mumbled to himself.

He suddenly broke out into a wide smile. Not only had his plan to get those two married off worked but his son was truly in love with the girl. And maybe she felt the same way about him? And if that was the case, he, William, had a shot at getting those grandbabies he desperately wanted. Well, well, well, his schemes had worked once again. What a clever genius he was!

And as for the pre-nup? Well, he, William, controlled all the purse strings anyway and he could get around all that in his will, so that really wasn't a problem. So, his son was in love with the girl for real? It was about bloody time. He wickedly smiled to himself, proud of the part he'd played in forcing those two stubborn kids together.
