“So you brought them into my garden,” My father moaned bringing my attention back on to him.
“Well I couldn’t leave them there, and I also couldn’t have taken them to the Bales now could I,” I replied.
“Good point.” Taking a look around all the magical creatures were watching us intently.
“Well then, we will see to it that you all be returned to your realms or if you wish to stay in this realm. That would be lovely. Katelyn!” He called Katelyn, and she appeared next to him in a ball of light. Giving me a once over look, she turned towards my father.
“I will order them immediately,” She grunted making a clipboard appear in her hands.
“Is there anyone who wishes to stay here,” She shouted above the chatter.
“I would like to take residence in this realm. As I have no family in Ambeushania, it would be an honour to be part of your home,” Tamtun bellowed over the gasps of some of the elves. I was glad he wanted to stay here. I think others should learn that the centaur breed isn’t what they seem to be. The books in the library need to be updated as this centaur seemed to be the opposite of the facts that were written in our books.
“That’s marvellous. Leo could use one of your kind in our army, if that is of your choosing,” He beamed. Tamtun nodded his head and then stepped back behind everybody else.
“Elle you best go back to The Bales. I’ll take over here, you did well,” Kissing me on the forehead my father gave me a hug.
“Thanks,” I replied. I think I best go pick up my car before it gets towed. All in a day’s work for me.
Chapter seventeen
My plan to spend the whole weekend in bed wasn’t going according to plan, as usual. How am I supposed to be fit enough to fight evil beings, when I don’t get any sleep. Brushing my hair with my fingers, I tied it up into a messy ponytail. Come on Elle pull it together.
“What was I doing again?” I asked Tamtun as he galloped over a hedge towards me.
“Training your horse,” He replied heading towards me. Oh yes, I was trying to train Peggy to fly after something without me guiding her. It was very complex training as I had to send a light ball into the clear sky. Making it barely visible and Peggy had to follow it.
“Peggy I need you to follow the light beam. Can you do that?” I asked, forming a light ball in the palm of my hand. Shaking her head, she backed away from me. She wasn’t stupid, she knew what I was trying to make her do.
“Come on Pegs. It’s not that hard, we can do a couple of test runs. See if you can keep track of this one.”
Patting her on the nose, I sent the light beam soaring into the sky. Peggy squealed and backed further away from me.
“This isn’t really going so well. She normally does what I ask her,” I sighed making my way towards Peggy and stroking her silvery mane.
“You are not teaching her properly,” Tamtun replied. Trotting over towards us, he placed one hand on Peggy’s mane on the opposite side to where I was standing.
“You need to talk calmer to her. She won’t learn if you force her,” He explained. Bending so that his face was inches from the side of Peggy’s eye, he stared intently at her.
“Now Peggy I am going to run further down the field. Adabelle is going to send a light towards me. I want you to follow that. Can you do that?” He asked calmly. Peggy neighed and lowered her head, which usually meant, she would participate. Well I’m a little hurt that she would listen to Tamtun instead of me. Screwing up my face I watched as Tamtun galloped a mile away from us, across the field. He waved at me when he was in place.
“Right come on then Peggy. Follow the light to your new best friend,” I grunted. She neighed at me and pushed me with her nose. Giving her a smile, I lifted my palm and raised the light ball into the air. Blowing on the light ball it floated towards the direction of Tamtun. Using my finger to direct the ball of light, I sent it flying towards Tamtun. It took Peggy a couple more seconds than it should have for her to set off. She galloped following the light and spread out her wings to take to the sky. Continuing to follow the light, she flew higher into the sky as I moved the light beam higher up and then lowered it. The light evaporated as Peggy landed next to Tamtun.
“Woo!” I cheered as they both galloped back towards me.
“Well done Peggy, I’m so proud of you!” I praised hugging her neck as she reached me.
“See I told you if you were calmer she would do it,” Tamtun gloated.
“Ok, you were right I was wrong, stop gloating” I laughed.
“Shall we try that again,” He asked.
Just before I could answer him, my heart skipped a beat as I saw Logan standing between the trees of the forest behind them. Standing for a couple of seconds biting my lip, I turned back to Tamtun.
“Err, I have to go do something. I think,” I stammered. Do I go to the attractive Demon guy, or do I stay and try and pretend he isn’t there and ignore him. If I stay away from him then I will be bombarded with thoughts about what he could have wanted, and I also have to ask him about the portals. Well I honestly don’t need that much persuading.
“Your highness,” Tamtun voice broke through my thought babbling and cleared my head.
“Sorry Tamtun. There is some business I have to attend to. Could we schedule this for another time,” I asked taking my eyes off the trees behind them.
“Of course your majesty, would you like me to take Peggy back to the castle?” He replied.
“Err… No, I’ll take her with me,” At least then I could have some sort of support with me and Peggy wouldn’t let me be dragged into another kiss. She would defiantly flip a lid if I did that with her around.
“Very well,” He replied taking off across the field and through the fence towards the castle. Turning back towards the forest, Logan shimmered in front of me, making me jump.
“Shit! Logan! Are you trying to give me a heart attack,” I snapped smacking him over the head. Peggy squealed and pushed Logan to the ground with her nose.
“Peggy!” I exclaimed trying to pull her away from Logan. She wouldn’t budge and stood in front of me, not allowing me to be near him. Even though, this fixes the problem of not being tempted to pounce on him, it doesn’t really help with the getting information from him part.
“It’s ok Peggy. He won’t hurt me,” I whispered to her. Reluctantly she moved away from Logan, allowing him to stand. Caressing her mane, I kissed her face.
“Have you been bitching to your horse about me?” He asked sounding amused. Rolling my eyes, I leant against Peggy as she began to eat the grass we were standing on.
“She’s not a horse. She’s a direct descendent from Pegasus, which you should know as you have one of your own. Anyway If, you didn’t give me reason to bitch, I wouldn’t,” I replied biting the inside of my cheek. Other than Alex, Peggy was the person well in her case animal that I told all my secrets and feelings to. She was easier to talk to than Alex as she couldn’t talk back and to be honest sometimes I just needed someone to listen.
“I wasn’t aware I was such a pain” He chuckled.
“What is it that you want exactly Logan,” I asked stubbornly running my fingers through Peggy’s mane.
“To apologise for what happened between us,” He muttered scratching his head as he spoke. So he was apologising for kissing me now. Great that’s not going to mess my head up any more than usual. Fine if he wanted it to be like it never happened then I could do that.
“Don’t do that,” He groaned.
“Do what?” I asked pursing my lips together.
“That look. I’m only apologising because you have been avoiding me for nearly a week. I’m not a genius but in my book that means you are pissed with me,” He spoke whilst taking a step towards me. Peggy snorted in his face making him take a step back. Patting Peggy reassuringly I smirked at him as he ruffled his hair in annoyance.
“It’s no use apologising if you don’t really mean it,” I sighed.
“So you want me to be sorry for kissing you?” He asked making me doubt my own thoughts. Do I want him to be sorry. What am I thinking, of course I do. He can’t just go around kissing people, especially me who is meant to be his arch enemy. Arch enemies are meant to stay far away from each other, or like in comics. Come up with plans to kill one another. Now that’s a reassuring thought.
“Logan It’s not my fault if you can’t resist me but for future referencing keep these,” I paused pointing at his lips. “Away from mine, ok?” I smirked. He laughed loudly making the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.
“Well it’s a good job your guard dog is here with you. Otherwise I don’t think I would be able to control myself,” He chuckled. Raising her head from the grass Peggy snorted at the remark of being called a dog and went back to grazing.
“In that case I may have to bring her to all of our meetings,” I mocked.
My mobile vibrated in my pocket and brought me back to reality. Taking it from my pocket I put it to my ear.
“Hello,” I answered.
“Bonjour my beautiful friend. I see that you’re busy with your lover...”
“Alex behave yourself,” I interrupted rolling my eyes. “Are you spying on me?” I asked searching the field for her prying eyes.
“Not spying. I was looking for you and Tamtun told me you were on the field, but he didn’t say you were with someone. So I thought I’d leave you to it,” she giggled down the phone.
“You are so annoying,” I sighed rubbing one of my temples.
“You love it. Any chance you could ask Logan about the portals that have been forming in and around your human realm. It has turned into a major problem,” She babbled.
“Sure, I’ll catch you later Freako!”
“Later Douche.” Hanging up the phone I turned back to Logan. If I was going to talk to Logan then I had to send Peggy home, as she wouldn’t let me get anywhere near enough to him to have an actual conversation. Stepping away from Peggy I looked back over my shoulder. Why do I feel like I’m being watched and not by Alex. Turning around I searched the empty field. Seeing nothing I walked a few steps away from Logan and Peggy.
“Are you ok?” Logan asked from behind me. Ignoring him I continued to search field. Before I began to think I was losing it, Peggy stopped grazing and raised her head. She snorted at Logan and walked to my side. She felt it to, I could tell as her tense body stood tall beside me with spread out wings. She nudged me with her nose urging me to get on her back.
“What’s going…?” Before he could finish, he was struck down by a bolt of light. Turning back to him I checked to see if he was breathing. His blue eyes were gone and replaced with jet black ones. That should have alarmed me and made me stand away from him, but it didn’t. I knew he wouldn’t hurt me even if he should.
“What the Fuck was that!” He yelled springing back to life pulling himself from the ground.
“I’m guessing it was him,” I snarled as Lorias crossed the field with several other demons behind him. This is so not good. Glancing at the bag that was hanging around Peggy’s neck, I looked straight back at Lorias. Hoping he wouldn’t notice it. Why is it that when it was my turn to look after the last crystal, he turned up to steal it.
“Get the hell out of here Lorias,” Logan commanded stepping in front of me and Peggy.
“I don’t take orders from you,” Lorias smirked with a click of his fingers Logan vanished, leaving me and Peggy alone.
“Oh and don’t think about orbing anywhere,” He smiled. Quickly placing one hand on Peggy I tried to orb away from them. Opening my eyes, the castle was half in sight, but something was pulling me back into the field mid orb. Falling to the floor my hand slipped from Peggy’s side. She reared and kicked her hoofs as two vampires grabbed her.
“NO! Let her go!” I yelled running towards her as a demon held me back. Punching him in the face and kicking him in the stomach I ran towards her. Inches from her nose I was pulled away by two more demons. Lorias stood laughing, his fingers resting on his cheek.
“You son of a bitch if you hurt her!” I screamed kicking my legs, trying to escape the demons grip.
“I won’t hurt her if you give me the last crystal,” He smiled.
“I don’t make deals with demons! You’re not exactly the honest type!” I spat as Peggy continued to snort and rear at the two vampires trying to hold her down.
“Be quiet you vile creature,” He yelled throwing a dark orb towards her. Yelling at him to stop, he didn’t listen, and Peggy fell to the ground slowly as the orb surrounded her.
“What have you done to her?” I screamed trying my hardest to escape. Anger boiled inside me as Lorias snickered.
“Relax it’s just a sleeping spell. Well what’s this then,” He asked taking the white satchel from a round Peggy’s neck.
“That’s not yours,” I exclaimed kicking one of the demons holding me in the crotch. He crumbled to the ground. Grabbing the other at the arm, I pulled her over my head and threw a fire ball at her. She disintegrated into ashes on the floor as two vampires ran towards me. Levitating to stand on ones shoulders, I broke his neck in between my feet. Leaping from his dead body, I broke the next of another whilst throwing a fly kick at a demon. Throwing a ball of fire towards him he burned down to ashes.
