“Good to be back.”

“Eyes off my old lady, bro,” Striker said, in a low voice.

JD said nothing, knowing better than to press his luck. He knew Striker was a jealous fucker. He lit up a Marlboro cigarette and took a drag.

Looking back at Striker, JD thought he had aged some since the last time he’d seen him.
Probably club business wearing on him.
He still wore his dark wavy, shoulder-length hair loosely combed straight back behind his head. Now it had thin streaks of gray running through it, along with some gray streaks in his short beard.

Striker threw his arm around Holly’s neck and gave her a kiss while patting her ass. JD figured that was her signal to get lost. Club business time. Yelling for the prospect to get them another round, Striker got right down to business.

“Was waiting for you to get some down time in before I hit you with this. Need you to do some checking up on things for me. We got a new bar that opened up outside of town, called The Den. The club has a forty-five percent interest in the place. Owner needed some backing and came to us—big fucking mistake on his part. Not too smart, that fucking little dipshit. Wanted to give us twenty-five percent. Took a little persuading on our part, but he finally saw reason.”

JD knew just what kind of persuading was involved. Hell, he did enough ‘persuading’ himself on other business owners where the club held an interest. It usually involved bloody knuckles on his part. JD didn’t mind fighting. He enjoyed busting up a few faces now and then.

“What’s the problem?” JD asked.

“Not sure, yet. Our profits are down and that little shit’s insisting business is getting slower.”

“Who ya got on it so far?”

“We had to put Big Daddy in there working as a bouncer. Damn, you shoulda seen him when I told him I had a job for him in that titty bar. I thought that big fucker was gonna bend over and kiss my dick,” Striker snorted. “I told him to keep an eye on things, but so far nothing. I figure that eye of his is glued to the dancers and nothing else. Probably thinks he died and he’s in Heaven.”

Laughing now, JD asked, “What do ya want me to do?”

“No one knows your face. I want you to get in there and keep an eye open. See what’s goin’ on. That fat fucker better not be skimming or he’s going to ground. Check out the dancers, too. They usually know what’s going on inside a club. We might have to plant one of our smarter ones in there, to keep tabs.”

“Now, speaking of Heaven, Holly! Get your ass over here. We’re leaving.” When Holly came right over, he gave her a lusty kiss, and swung his arm around her neck as they were leaving.

Striker was one lucky son of a bitch
, JD thought as he watched Holly’s tight little ass wiggle while she walked out the door.

Looking around the clubhouse, JD saw some members he knew. The bros’ greeted him with slaps on the back and filled him in on some of the club news. One of the club girls—Sherry, he thought was her name—put some money in the juke box. ‘Midnight Rider’ by Gregg Allman started to play. Sherry started dancing and a few other bitches joined in.

Slamming down a few more shots and beers, all JD could think about was getting a ride himself. All those tight fucking jeans were calling his name. He looked over to the couch and saw Roach and Drifter were feeling the same way.

Roach had some girl sitting on his lap and was slowly moving his hand down into her opened up jeans.

Drifter was standing against the wall with another one of the girl’s. Her top was off and he was kissing her small tits.

Feeling his own jeans getting tight and not seeing Lila around, he walked over, bent down and threw Sherry over his shoulder. She squealed with delight as he carried her up the stairs. When he threw Sherry down on the bed, she started giggling as JD just about ripped her clothes off. Quickly grabbing a condom from his back pocket, he took off his clothes and flipped her over. Raising her ass up high, he slid into her slick pussy from behind. With a satisfied smirk on his face, JD thought this is as close to Heaven as you could get.

Lila had just come out from the bathroom in time to catch JD carrying Sherry upstairs. Fueled with liquid courage from drinking, instant rage filled her mind. What the fuck! JD was her man as far as she was concerned. No one was having him but her. She flew up the stairs and burst into his room.

“You fucking dizzy bitch,” she yelled. “Get out of here, now!”

Sherry sobered up fast and tried to get up but JD held her down.

“Not goin’ anywhere, babe.” He started fucking Sherry nice and slow now, to put Lila in her place. Sherry started panting fast and moaned out her release with JD following right behind her. Sherry looked over at Lila, smiling now to rub it in. Giving JD a kiss on his cheek, Sherry grabbed her clothes and walked out.

By this time, Lila had come to her senses and was backing up slowly towards the door.

“Come here, Lila,” JD said in a menacing voice. She walked towards JD, a little fearful now. Looking down into Lila’s frightened face, JD knew it was a good time to lay down the rules.

“Listen and listen good—you are not my old lady and never will be. You have no say in anything I do or who I fuck. Do you understand me?” He asked, raising his voice.

Too scared to talk, Lila nodded her head. She knew JD could be a cold-hearted bastard, but she wouldn’t give up hoping to be his old lady.

“Now get over on that bed and take off your clothes or get the fuck out.”

Lila walked slowly over to the bed.

The following evening, Jaz went over to Sam and Sara’s apartment (at exactly five o’clock) to eat dinner with them. She was looking forward to finally meeting Sara and the chance to thank her personally for their hospitality.

Sara opened the door just as Jaz was raising her hand to knock. “I was waiting for you, dear. Come in, come in,” Sara said happily. “I’m so glad you’ll be joining us nightly for our meals. With just Sam for company—well, you get my point. I made chicken and dumplings, one of Sam’s favorites and yours too, I hope. Nothing like a good old home-cooked meal.”

Jaz just nodded her head as it was impossible to get a word in. Sara seemed to love to talk. She was a charming, older woman with gray hair. Jaz liked her immediately. Her smiling, friendly face and sparkling, green eyes showed Jaz how much she enjoyed having company.

“Come sit down and make yourself comfortable while I go get Sam. He probably fell asleep at that desk again.” Sara tsk’d as she practically danced out of the room.

Jaz sat there giggling. It seemed Sara’s mood was catchy. She couldn’t help but notice how large their apartment was, thinking they must have converted three regular-sized motel rooms together to make this one.

There was a kitchen off to one side from what she could see through the swinging doors and a parlor on the other side of the room. They even had a separate, private room that must be their bedroom, she thought. There was a beautiful handmade afghan of purple, pink and white colors, thrown over the back of the couch. Jasmine was amazed to see dainty, little crocheted doilies adorning the antique end tables. She fell in love with their apartment. Its homey atmosphere felt so welcoming.

Sam came in a few minutes later, yawning. “Sorry, I must’ve fallen asleep.”

Jaz couldn’t help but laugh now. “That’s okay, Sam. Your Sara is delightful.”

Sara called out supper was ready and they sat down to eat. “Wow, this is really good,” Jasmine commented, after having tasted a few mouthfuls.

“Told you my Sara could cook, didn’t I?” Sam said proudly.

“So where are you from Jasmine—if I’m not being too nosy,” Sara asked.

Jaz told them both about her parents and about getting expelled from college. Leaning over to pat her hand, Sara looked so sympathetic that Jaz started to cry.

“Listen, dear…college isn’t the right path for everyone to follow. Why, I’ll bet Sam and I can find a nice little job for you, right her in Fulton. And if money is a problem, you can stay here for free as long as you need to. Heck, Sam and I only run this motel for something to do. We could live quite comfortably without running it, isn’t that right, Sam?”

“Right as rain, it is. You know Sara and I were never blessed with children of our own. We would really enjoy having you around here.”

Jaz was beyond speechless. Not knowing what else to do, she got up and hugged Sam and his wife. “Thank you both. I’ve never in my life met people as generous and kind.” Now it was Sara and Sam who were misty eyed. “On the brighter side,” Jaz commented, “I already have a job.”

“You do? That’s wonderful, where dear?” Sara wanted to know.

“At The Den, I start work at seven tonight.”

“Oh my, Jasmine. I’ve heard about that place and nothing good, I assure you.”

“It’ll be all right.”
I hope
, she thought to herself. “I’m thinking the money will be good, at least.”

Sam was frowning again, but kept silent. He figured Jasmine would have to learn about life herself, hopefully not the hard way.

After Jaz wished them a good night, she walked back to her room thinking how lucky she was.

Driving to work, later that night, Jaz had butterflies in her stomach. She hated the skimpy outfit she had to wear—plus, it fit a little too snug on top. Pulling into the parking lot, she was glad to see it didn’t look too crowded yet. Walking up to the entrance, Jaz took a few deep breaths and walked in. There were only a handful of customers seated at the bar and a few guys that were shooting pool. Seeing Danny behind the bar, she walked on over.

“Hey, Jaz! You ready for tonight?” Danny’s eyes roamed up and down her body and he let out a low whistle. “You sure look hot, girl!”

“As ready as I’ll ever be, I guess.” Jaz answered, while trying to tug her top up to cover her boobs more.

“Here.” Smiling, he handed her a shot of Jack Daniels. “This will help calm your nerves.”

“I figure it’ll take about five more of these, if you want calm nerves.”

Dan laughed. “You’ll do fine, don’t worry.” Just then a petite, red-haired girl walked over to place an order.

“Hey, Jackie—this here’s Jaz. It’s her first night. How about showing her the ropes?”

“Hi, Jaz! Welcome aboard! Don’t look so nervous. Once this place gets rockin’ nobody will even notice any mistakes you make,” Jackie said with a chuckle. “I’ll stick close by and help you, till you get the hang of it. Here’s some advice—for starters; first thing is don’t act too friendly to these guys or they’ll take it as an invite. Just smile, take their orders and more importantly, lean over a little. Great for tips!” Jackie said with a grin.

Jaz burst out laughing. “If I lean over a little, the girls will be hanging out for sure.” She liked Jackie’s sense of humor and hoped they would be friends.

“Now for the scary part, come with me. I want you to meet Big Daddy. He’s here to protect us. Once you see him, you’ll feel completely safe.”

Jasmine got the
Big
part, but
Daddy?
Really?
He stood well over six feet tall and had muscles on top of muscles. He was completely bald with a short, black beard and had a nasty, looking scar near the corner of his left eye. His neck had some kind of tattoo on it with writing below, as well as multiple tattoos on his arms. His white t-shirt and black jeans were molded to his frame and he wore some type of black engineer boots. Jasmine thought all he was missing was a black patch over his eye. She guessed he wasn’t bad looking, if you liked em’ big.

Big Daddy was standing near the door, turned a little sideways, making sure he could see the stage.

“Hey, Big D. This here’s Jaz and it’s her first night of work. How about keeping a special eye on her until she gets used to the place?”

Big D glanced down at Jaz. “I got your back, babe—no worries. Any guy gets out of line, you come to me.”

“Uh… thanks,” Jaz replied as Jackie was dragging her away.

“Okay, Jaz. Time to wiggle those hips and make those tips,” Jackie teased.

A little while later, the place became crowded. Jasmine had a hard time remembering all the different beers and liquors and she messed up some orders—big time. There were mostly men in the place, but some had brought their girlfriends or wives. Jasmine thought she was doing fairly well for her first night, but she couldn’t bring herself to do the ‘leaning over’ trick.

Jackie came by to check on her throughout the night and Jaz would see Big Daddy frequently glance her way. The male customers weren’t too bold towards her. At least no one pulled her onto their lap as they had another waitress named Sheila that she’d met earlier. Big D was making his way over to Sheila, when she was suddenly let up by the raucous, drunken customer. She seemed okay with it so Big D returned to his post.

By midnight, Jasmine’s feet felt like they were on fire and her back ached from carrying trays, loaded down with drinks.
Definitely need new shoes
, she thought.

The music suddenly cut out. Jasmine watched as a girl walked over to the juke box and put in blue painted quarters. She guessed that was so the bar got their money back for the songs that the dancers danced to. The place got pretty quiet now. When the dancer walked up on the stage, the men’s whoops and whistles were deafening. Jasmine had never seen anything like it. The disco ball started turning slowly and was changing to different colors. When the dancer started undressing slowly, the men were getting wilder, yelling, “Take it off!” Dollar bills were piling up all over the stage floor. By then, the dancer was wearing nothing but a tiny, red sequined bra and skimpy, thong-like panties. When one dancer was done, another would come on.

By this time, Jasmine was thoroughly exhausted and her feet felt numb.

Danny motioned her over to the bar. “How did you like your first night?”

“It was eye opening, that’s for sure.” Jaz replied with a little chuckle.

“You look like you’ve had enough for your first night. Here’s your night’s pay, go on home.”

Jasmine was only too happy to comply. Back in her motel room, she kicked off her shoes and massaged her aching feet. She couldn’t wait to count her money. She hoped she had made enough to compensate for her poor feet, at least. She was disappointed to see that she only made seventy dollars in tips, plus the thirty the bar paid her. She guessed the men saved their money for the dancers. Yawning non-stop, she crawled into bed and promptly fell asleep.
