Holly sighed as she sat on
the couch and turned the TV off. She had to be smart; she needed
this job, and she couldn’t afford to not hear her alarm clock and
end up late for work. She got into bed and turned off the lights,
but she wasn’t able to fall asleep. She kept thinking of Don Juan
and their almost night together, and the last email she got was
still weighing on her mind.
She grabbed her phone and
pressed reply on the email and started typing away
furiously.

Re: 6:00am
Dear King
Giovanni,
I’m pretty sure the HR
department would understand my need to file a complaint against you
and your crazy demands. However, I’m not one of those people that
like to complain before they even start the job. I’ll be in the
office at 6 am tomorrow, but I want to let you know how
inconsiderate it was of you to send me a request this late at
night. What if I had missed it?
Your
maid/secretary/assistant Holly
Holly placed the phone down
next to her with only a little gnawing in her gut. She closed her
eyes and was just about to drift to sleep when she heard the beep
of her phone. She had a new email. She lay there, knowing it wasn’t
going to be a good idea to check the email. She knew it had to be
from Giovanni, and she knew that it wasn’t going to be good. Bur
she couldn’t stop herself from looking. She grabbed it from the
dresser and opened it quickly, her stomach sinking at the words on
the screen.

Re: Fired
Dear Ms. Craven,
I don’t take well to
insubordination, especially before the person has even started
work. Feel free to complain to HR, but you’re fired. Have a nice
life cleaning rooms.
Spencer Giovanni
“
Oh, hell no.” Holly sat up
infuriated. “There is no way that that little twerp is firing me
before I even start.” She grabbed the phone and was about to email
him back when she got another email from him.

Re: Fired
Dear Ms. Craven,
I’m sure my last email made
your heart jump. I’d be very careful from here-on out. I expect to
see you at 6 am tomorrow, rain or shine.
Spencer Giovanni
Holly sagged back into the
sheets, grateful that she hadn’t lost her job but annoyed that he
had thought that was a funny joke. “Be real.” She muttered to
herself. “He didn’t think it was funny. I bet he just pretended it
was a joke because he has so much work he needs me to do tomorrow.
Ass.” She closed her eyes, and before she knew it, Holly was
dreaming of Don Juan and his lips all over her body.
***
“
Frigging 6am.” Holly
muttered as she made her way to the office. She had about 5 minutes
to park and walk into the building, or she would be late. She
hadn’t even had time to get a cup of coffee, and she knew her
clothes looked rather drab. It was the only suit she could find
that didn’t need ironing. She should have checked the evening
before, but she had forgotten. She glanced at her watch as she
parked. She had two minutes left, so she grabbed her bag and ran
into the office as quickly as possible. The doorman smiled at her
and opened the door, and she thanked him gratefully as she huffed
and puffed.
“
Hi,” she was surprised to
see a receptionist already sitting at a desk, working. “I’m here
for my first day.”
“
Hi,” the girl smiled at
her. “What’s your name?”
“
Holly,” she gave the girl
a smile. “Like Molly but with an H, or folly, or jolly, though I’m
not too jolly right now. Do you always have to get into work this
early?”
The girl looked at her with
a patient expression and nodded. “Mr. Giovanni is upstairs waiting
for you with 2 other top executives. He said to send you right
up.”
“
Two other executives?”
Holly gasped. “Are you joking? I need a cup of coffee and a
doughnut, not to be put to work right away.”
“
I suppose that’s because
you don’t enjoy working much, Ms. Craven.” She heard the familiar
deep voice behind her and froze.
Oh shit.
Oh shit
. She thought to herself as she
turned around slowly. She wanted to run out of the building and
scream, but her legs wouldn’t move.
“
I love working Mr.
Giovanni.” Her voice was snide as she looked up at him, and he
froze as he saw her face and they made eye contact.
“
This has got to be a
joke.” He stared at her and ran his fingers through his hair.
“Please tell me you are not Holly Craven.”
“
If you tell me you’re not
Spencer Giovanni.” She stared at his tailored Italian suit and too
handsome face and sighed. Of course he would be her new boss. It
only made sense that the man she had a one-night stand and then
cursed out would be her new boss. A boss she already disliked. A
boss she had come to work for with one purpose in mind. Could her
life get any worse? “Well, I’m leaving.” She spun around and walked
quickly to the front entrance. She couldn’t go through with this
any longer. It was all too crazy. She walked a little too quickly
and her heel caught in something and she went flying to the
ground.
Spencer ran up to her and
helped her up. His eyes mocked her as he pulled her up, and she
stumbled into his arms for a brief second, enjoying the warmth of
his body, before pulling away quickly. “Get your hands off of me.”
She hissed. He let go of her quickly and gave her a derisive
look.
“
Honey, I’ve been there and
done that, and trust me, it wasn’t all that.”
“
I beg your pardon?” Her
jaw dropped, and her face went red. “How dare you?”
“
How dare I?” He leaned
forward and traced the edges of her lips with his hands. “I dare
very much, Vixen. I dare very much.”
“
Don’t call me that.” She
hissed, mad that she was starting to feel turned on.
“
Or what?”
“
Or I’ll tell everyone what
you did, Don Juan!”
“
You mean banging a
beautiful brunette?” He laughed. “That wouldn’t even make my staff
bat an eyelid.”
“
You’re a
bastard.”
“
Now that’s not nice, Ms.
Craven, I hardly go around calling you a slut.”
She slapped him across the
face and stood there aghast as she saw the faint marks of her hand
on his cheek. “Sorry.” She muttered and made to turn around
again.
“
Wait.” He grabbed her arm
and stopped her. “Look, I don’t like this situation either, but I
have a room full of clients ready for a meeting. I need you to come
upstairs with me and take notes.”
“
You can’t just expect me
to play secretary on my first day.”
“
Why not? You’re pretty
good with your fingers.” He winked at her and walked towards the
elevator with out another word. She looked at his retreating back
and the front entrance and followed him with a sigh. She had no
idea why she was staying to work for him, but she knew she couldn’t
just walk away. She hadn’t been able to get him out of her mind
since Friday night, and she wasn’t going to say no to a possible
repeat.
Chapter 6
“
We’ll get those papers
signed and have them faxed over to you this afternoon, Mr. Nagano.”
Spencer shook hands with the businessmen as they left the office,
and Holly stood next to him, faking a smile. While the meeting had
gone well, Holly had been so aware of Spencer’s presence that she
had made many typing errors. She knew she had to go back through
her notes before she gave them to him, or he would really think she
was a good for nothing.
“
So, how was that?” Spencer
turned to face her as the businessmen left the office and raised an
eyebrow. “Not too hard?”
“
No.” She yawned and
quickly covered her mouth.
“
Late night?” He stared at
her pointedly.
“
No.” She shook her head.
“But I had an early morning and no coffee.”
“
You mean you didn’t make
your coffee run? I thought you were going to bring me a cup to
impress me?”
“
I changed my mind, Mr.
Giovanni.”
“
Likely story, Ms. Craven.”
He looked her up and down and smirked. “I have to say you look a
lot different from Friday night.”
“
What’s that supposed to
mean?” She frowned at him self-consciously.
“
You look like someone’s
dowdy aunt, not some hot but clumsy stripper.”
“
You’re so rude.” She
rolled her eyes at him. “We don’t all have hundreds of dollars to
spend on an outfit.”
“
Obviously.”
“
So what’s next?” She
looked at her watch and saw that it was barely 9am. She sighed as
she thought about spending the rest of the day with him.
“
I thought we could go to
breakfast.”
“
No thanks.” She muttered
as her stomach growled.
“
Let’s get one thing
straight.” He looked at her dismissively. “What happened in Vegas
meant nothing to me.”
“
It meant nothing to me
either.” Holly glared at him.
“
I don’t think you’re a
slut. I don’t think you’re crazy.” He smirked.
“
Whatever.” Holly sat down
at the table. “I’m going to tidy up these notes. I’ll be here when
you get back from breakfast.”
“
I’m not going without
you.”
“
I’m not going.”
“
So we’re going to do
this?” Spencer walked to the door, and Holly felt herself relaxing
as he walked away and she heard the door close. She tensed as soon
as she realized Spencer had locked the door and not actually left.
He walked over to her, and she felt his hands on her
shoulders.
“
What, what are you doing?”
She tensed at his touch.
“
Giving you a massage. You
feel tense.”
“
I don’t need you massaging
me.” She jumped up. “Go to breakfast.”
“
I’m not hungry for food.”
His eyes issued a challenge.
“
Well, I’m not up for
grabs.”
“
No?” He cocked his head.
“That’s a shame.”
“
Yes, it is.” She stared at
him, daring him to make a move towards her.
“What would you do if I
took your jacket off?”
“Nothing!”
“And if I unbuttoned your
shirt?”
“You wouldn’t dare.” She
said breathlessly and excitedly.
“You dare me?” He reached
over to her and unbuttoned the top two buttons of her shirt. He
stared into her eyes as he undid them, and she gasped as he hand
casually fell to her breast. He let it linger for a few seconds
before brushing over her hardening nipple and grinning down at her.
“Shall I go further?”
She shook her head, unable
to talk. She wanted to rip the buttons off of his shirt and feel
his chest against hers. She wasn’t sure why she was so attracted to
him. He was a jerk. But he was a sexy, handsome jerk, and she
already knew he was dynamite in bed. The insides of her legs
tingled just thinking about him.
“Are you sure?” He moved
closer to her and undid the rest of her buttons and pushed his hand
into her shirt before slipping his fingers into her bra and
squeezing her nipple. She stood there, loving the feel of his rough
fingers on her smooth skin and closed her eyes and moaned as he
popped her right breast out of the bra and bent down and sucked on
it. She grabbed the top of his head and ran her fingers through his
hair, tugging his silky wisps as he nibbled on her
nipple.
“Ow.” She squealed as he
bit down on her hard.
“Take off your shirt.” He
ordered her as he withdrew his mouth. “Take off your shirt and
bra.”
“What are you taking
off?”
“What do you want me to
take off?” He winked at her.
“Take off your shirt as
well.” Her voice purred at him, and he watched as she peeled off
her shirt and dropped her bra on the table. He unbuttoned his shirt
and swallowed hard as he saw her reach up under her skirt and pull
her panties down.
“Didn’t get enough of me in
Vegas, huh?” He laughed, and she shook her head.
“What can I say? I’m
feeling horny.” She pushed her breasts into his naked chest. “My
last boyfriend was a lousy lay, and you were good.”
“But you just left the
room.”
“Shhh.” She grinned at him
and took control of the situation. She grabbed his belt and undid
it before unzipping his pants. She reached into his pants and
grabbed his cock, squeezed it and grinned when she felt it growing
in her hands. “Excited to see me?”
