THE FESTIVAL OF THE MOON (Girls Wearing Black: Book
Two)
Still reeling from the events of the Homecoming
Masquerade, Nicky Bloom must prepare for the second event of the Coronation
contest: The Festival of the Moon.
A week-long celebration of the immortals and the girls
vying to become one, the Festival of the Moon begins with a wild party in the
woods and ends with a date auction, where all the boys of the Thorndike senior
class bid for the right to wine and dine one of the girls wearing black.
With help from Jill Wentworth and the rest of the
Network, Nicky dives headfirst into the world of lust, gossip, and intrigue
that is Thorndike Academy. And as she and the other girls wearing black
struggle for position, Nicky must keep her true identity a secret, not only
from the other students at school, but from the vampire who is watching her
every move.

A
uthor’s Note
Thank you for reading The Homecoming Masquerade. This
book began as a short story that demanded a larger canvas, and oh, what a large
canvas it has become!
As I write this note, I am editing the manuscript for
book 3 in the series, The Rose Ransom, and I am so thrilled with how the
characters and story have grown. What started out as a crazy night at the
homecoming dance has turned into a worldwide adventure with humanity in the balance.
I am incredibly grateful for all the emails and messages of support from
readers. I am pleased that the series has had such an impact on people’s lives
and can’t wait to write through to the finish of the series!
I always enjoy getting emails from readers, and encourage
you to contact me at

.
Communicating with readers has become a daily activity for me, and I can say
without question it is my favorite part of being a writer.
Thank you again, and I’ll see you at the end of Book 2!

My cover designer, Chris
Stenger, outdid himself with this one. Thank you, Chris.
As he has done for all my books,
Rob Eigenbrod provided valuable feedback on the story as it was developing, and
the manuscript when it was ready to read. Thanks dude.
Thank you Becca Taylor,
Christina Grant, and Callie Kourniotis for seeking out those little things in
the manuscript that are so easy for an author to miss.
The community at Kindleboards
has kept me up to date on the latest trends in publishing and also provided
inspiration whenever I needed it. Good luck, everyone.
I feel like every author who is
making a go of it in the digital age owes some thanks to Joe Konrath, who has
been our advocate and champion from the early days. Same goes for Amanda
Hocking, who showed us all that nice girls can in fact finish first.
Kira, Rowan, and Connor – I love
you guys.
And of course the biggest thanks
goes to my wife, Julie, whose name should appear on the front cover for all the
help she provided with this one.
