Once Paz had reached them, she sent the mental command for it to follow Nolan, then went over and gave the man a hug.

"Be careful out there."

"You be careful here. You're the one taking the real risk. I'm just going for a walk."

"We can both agree to be careful. Now get going."

"Whatever you say, boss." He flashed her a grin and then started on his way, Paz a few steps behind him.

"Excuse me," Iacane said, rubbing his hands together. "I'm curious why you need me, besides the obvious fact that I'm the best Saniteal in the land."

"Well, for one, we might need you to go into the inn to get our things if it's being watched."

"I don't think I should be getting involved with--"

"Listen, Iacane. You're the only one I've found that has met Ean in person, so I need to keep you around for a while. Besides, if helping me isn't reason enough, think about this. About the Author

James R. Verno
n
was born and lives on the planet Earth. He holds a degree in teaching mathematics in junior and high schools, which has zero influence on his writing. Instead he has spent as much time as possible, from a time when he could handle somewhat complicated words, reading and enjoying fantasy novels.

Often stuck in long commutes for his job, James's imagination was free to create new worlds and stories. Through the assistance of family, friends, and some generous backers, James has been able to pursue his dream of sharing his stories with more then just the characters he has created.

When not writing, he can usually be found with those he holds most dear, teaching those that put more white in his hair every year, losing money playing poker, losing time in a good book or song, or completely lost in his own mind.

Oh, and obviously he tries to enjoy life as much as he can.
