“Yes, yes it does,” I whimper.

“I was suspicious about two weeks after you came home,” he hisses in my ear.

“Really,” I gasp. “Why didn’t you say anything?”

“I wanted to see how far you would take this,” he replies and he walks me forward to the kitchen island.

With the hand that is not in my hair, he slides his fingers down my arm and places my hand on the countertop. I reach out with my other hand to balance myself as my knees grow weak.

“Luca, I don’t know what I was thinking I was so mad at you,” I rush to explain.

“See that is the problem, Shannon. We don’t communicate enough. You should have told me how you felt like I should have done before running off,” he replies in my ear huskily. “I can’t have this, Shannon. I can’t have my wife lying to me.”

“I’m not your wife,” I moan as his hand cups my breast and his lips fasten to my neck.

“You will be, but first, I need to teach you a little lesson, Baby,” he whispers in my ear.

“What,” I choke out.

“Spread your legs wider,” he commands.

I wrinkle my brows in confusion. Surely he is not going to try anything in his mother’s kitchen. I soon find out that Luca is indeed insane. He gently kicks my legs apart with his foot, causing my backside to nudge into his hard cock that is straining against his pants.

His long fingers slip under the hem of my romper and he pushes my thong aside. I bite back a whimper as his fingers brush my sex. He finds my nub and pinches it.

“For a whole month, you have been lying to me. For a whole month, I have spent every night in another bed, instead of our bed. For a whole month I have kept my hands to myself,” he rasps. “Now you are going to learn what that type of frustration feels like.”

My blood boils as I remember him leaving me for almost a year. He has some freaking nerve. I curse my body for reacting to him as my pussy starts to weep for him.

“Fuck you, Luca,” I snap as the tears spill over. “You left me. I loved you and you left me.”

“I love you too, Baby,” he says tenderly. “That’s why I’m going to fix this.”

With those words, he shoves two fingers into my fist tight core. I cry out and my knees buckle. He releases my hair to band his arm around my chest and hold me to him.

“Luca please,” I moan.

“Please what, Shannon,” he growls in my ear as he continues to thrust his fingers inside me. “Please not here, please make you come, please stop, please give you more? What are you asking for, Baby?”

“I…I don’t know,” I squeal as I wiggle my ass into his erection.

Shannon,
” he growls, “You're so wet. I can’t wait to taste you again. Do you want that? Do you want me on my knees tasting you?”

“Yes, yes, Luca yes,” I say mindlessly.

I know this is so wrong, but that is turning me on even more. Knowing that we could be caught is exciting me in ways I’ve never even thought about. Luca turns his fingers and starts a hooking motion as he pushes into me. His hand shoots over my mouth in just the nick of time.

He thrusts his hips into my behind letting me feel how hard he is for me. I am so close. I close my eyes tight as I start to tighten around his fingers. Right when I feel the ball of fire inside me ready to explode Luca removes the fingers he has inside me and pops them in his mouth.

I weakly turn in his arms and look up at him in disbelief. He gives me a cocky grin and lifts a brow. He pulls his wet fingers from his mouth move in closer to me, tracing my lips with his soak fingers.

“We wouldn’t want my mother to walk in on us now would we,” he purrs.

“Seriously? You weren’t worried about that just a minute ago,” I hiss.

“Neither were you, my dirty little girl,” he chuckles. He leans into my ear. “Don’t worry, Shannon. I intend to fuck the shit out of you. I’m so tired of waiting. Times up Caprisi. You’re mine now.”

chapter Twenty-four

The Wrong One

Cassidy Black

California

“Joe these children will be the death of me, you hear,” I say into the phone. I am so sick of these little shits I have raised. “Wyatt won’t let Nellie and Nora out of his sight for them to come visit me. I told Toby and Kamara that I would babysit, but they go and put the wee ones in daycare. What good is being a grandmother if these little fuckers won’t let me spend time with my little babes.”

Joe roars with laughter on the other end of the phone. He is lucky I don’t shove his big ass in a blender. I carried all seven of his too big boys. It’s a wonder my vag didn’t fall out. My smallest boy was 8 pound 10 ounces. A big stubborn bunch.

“Cass, Wyatt has a good reason for watching his family the way he is and Toby and Kamara feel like they have taken enough from us. Let them do this on their own,” Joe chuckles.

“You are no help. You’ve been letting them get away with murder,” I huff.

“What would you like me to do, Sweetheart,” Joe purrs silkily. I blush even to this day from that voice. It’s the way he talked my panties off in the first place. Wyatt was popping out not long after.

“I want you to make them all bring their asses to Sunday breakfast. If Braxton or Johnathan skip one more Sunday, I’ll tan their hides myself,” I retort.

“I’ll handle it, my love,” Joe says with a smile in his voice. “Listen, I’m at the store. I’ll get the things you wanted for the twins and I’ll be right home.”

“Fine, Kamara and the twins should be arriving soon,” I sigh. “I love you, Joe.”

“I love you too, Cass. We’ll have them all together soon enough. I promise.”

I end the call and walk to the front of the house where I can watch and wait for Kamara and the wee ones. I love my little grandchildren. Lulu and TJ are just as smart as their father and uncles. They remind me of just how curious the boys used to be. They are both tall for their age, which is no surprise with Toby’s height and Kamara not being so short herself. That TJ and Lulu have worn out the terrible twos, but I spoil them none the less. I spoil my little Nora as well when she is around.

That is probably why Wyatt is keeping her away from me. I’m proud of that little whore son of mine. He has really turned his life around and Nellie is the perfect match for him. I smile at the thought, but my smile fades as I squint out the window.

“What in the holy fuck,” escapes my lips as I leap to my feet and run to the front door.

I step onto the step stool at the front door and grab both pump shotguns from the holders over the door. Holding one and cradling the other across my arm I fling the door open and stand in the doorway. I take my stance and lift the shotguns jerking my arms to pump them both.

“You’ll be wanting to get your hands off my daughter-in-law and back away from the babes,” I snarl aiming at the two tussling with Kamara and the twins. They look like they could be high on something.

“Get off my mommy,” TJ yells and kicks at one of their legs.

“No, like this, Uncle Noah said do it like this,” Lulu tells her brother before chopping at the back the other’s knees. The guy’s knees actually give and then Lulu throws her little fist at his nuts.

I swear I would laugh if this weren't so serious. The one holding Kamara has a knife to her throat as his hand moves shakily. The kids start to kick at his accomplice that is now groaning on the ground.

“Leave our mommy alone,” Lulu starts to scream.

“Enough, you two come to Nanna, now,” I call to the twins. “You with the knife, you’ll want to know I’m an excellent shot. I’ll blow your brains all over the sidewalk without batting a lash. Let the lass go and get off my property before I change my mind and shoot you for fun.”

I lift a brow daring him to try me. I would hate to dress Kamara in brains for the second time in her life, but I will. The only thing that has kept me from pulling the trigger already are my grans.

“In the house with you,” I order the twins when they finally come running up the steps.

They obey and I step further out of the doorway. “Ye sure ye want to be testing me,” I can hear my Irish lilt getting stronger with my anger.

The one on the ground climbs to his feet, cupping himself. “Come on man, this ain’t worth it. Let’s get out of here,” he whines to his friend.

“You should listen to your friend,” I hear my husband’s voice growl as he appears out of thin air.

I have to say I feel much more relieved. Not that I am afraid. Nope, not at all, I just know that Joe Black will handle this with finesse as opposed to my temper taking over and me pulling the trigger as I rain my fury all over this street.

I drop my guns to my sides as Kamara comes running to embrace me. She is shaking like a leaf, poor thing. She always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“Come on dear, we’ll get you sorted out inside. We’ll let Joe handle this,” I coo softly.

I’m a small woman, but my Toby picked himself a tall lass. Kamara hovers over me by quite a few inches as she clings to me.

“Hush now lass, you’re a Black now. We handle things like this.”

chapter Twenty-Five

Too Close to Home

Wyatt

California

Loud laughter rumbles through the office as we all sit in the main area. The office is full today as everyone is in. Dad took off for home early, but the girls and my brothers are all here. Even Rob has joined the gang.

Nellie needed to work from the office today so we brought our little Nora along. She is being spoiled by her Uncles as well as Heather and Bean. I don’t think that little girl’s butt has touched her carrier or the playpen once since we arrived this morning.

Right now she is cooing up at Noah as if she understands what we are all laughing at. Her little gums on full display as she looks at her Uncle Noah like he can hang the moon for her. My baby girl has all eight of us Black men wrapped around her finger. I think Dad has fallen the hardest, after me.

“Bro, I’m telling you I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I mean here I am ready to get evidence for her husband to divorce her and she could care less. The things she whispered in my ear would make any grown man blush,” Felix roars with laughter as we all share about the crazy cases we have been taking lately.

“You should have taken her up on her offer. Kill two birds with one stone,” Braxton laughs.

“Dude she said she wanted to take me to her car so I could,” Felix looks over to Nora, who is giggling and drooling up at Noah. “F-U-C-K her brains out while she stuck her finger up my A-S-S.”

We all roar with laughter again. “You do know she has no idea what you are saying. You don’t have to spell it out,” Ryan shakes his head.

“I think it is cute that he thinks about what he says around Nora,” Nellie beams. “It means that when she does start to talk, Fuck won’t be her first word because it is all of your favorite word.”

“So I guess you don’t plan on having her around mom much,” Braxton snorts.

“I was just about to say the same thing,” Bean giggles. “Now that woman can make a sailor repent.”

We all fall into more laughter. “Cass didn’t change for the lot of you and she sure isn’t about to start now,” Rob shakes his head. The office phone starts to rings as we all laugh some more.

“Hello, Black and Lock,” Heather chirps into the phone. The color drains from her face and she puts the phone on speaker. “Okay Joe, you are on speaker.”

“Close that motherfucker up and you all come to the house, now! Toby, you get your ass here to your woman,” my father bellows through the line.

I sit up right away. My dad never has outbursts like this. He has to be really pissed to even lose his cool. I am instantly on alert.

“Dad, what’s going on,” I ask.

“I want to talk to Toby,” I hear Kamara demand in the background. Her usually soft demeanor nowhere in sight.

Dad grumbles something and shifting can be heard on the other end as Kamara demands to speak to Toby again. More rustling comes before Kamara’s voice comes through the line.

“Toby, this is ridiculous. I want to learn to protect myself. Even my children can protect themselves better than I can. I won’t be a victim that needs rescuing, not one more time do you hear me?

“I want to learn to shoot and fight. I am a part of a family full of badasses and I can’t do shit to protect myself,” a few of us choke back laughs. This is so out of character for the soft-spoken Kamara. When she and Toby do get into little tiffs, it is always comical to watch, but this is far from the norm. “Your mother pulled two shotguns for crying out loud, at the same time. What the hell Toby? You promised, now I have almost been snatched a third time.”

“What the fuck,” Toby growls.

“Wait, what,” I stop her as the humor drains from the room. I knew something serious had to be going on with the way my father called, but hearing Kamara’s words just put the reality in the situation.

“Two guys tried to snatch me when the twins and I reached the house,” Kamara says shakily. “I’m tired of this, Toby. It’s like everyone knows I’m the family punk and they come after me.”

“Kamara, I’m on my way,” Toby says flying out of his seat.

That kid has to learn to stop trying to take everything into his own hands. I let him take off for now, though. Kamara is right we should have started training her months ago. She is the only woman around us that is unable to defend herself if needed.

I know in his head it is his job to take care of Kamara, but he can’t be with her twenty-four seven. I had to learn that the hard away and I am glad my wife was able to handle herself.

Noah has taken it upon himself to start teaching the twins self-defense. Kamara has been at school during their lessons, otherwise I am sure Noah would have started her training already. I shake my head and focus back on the call.

“We’ll start teaching you to protect yourself this weekend,” Noah reassures Kamara.

“Can we get back to mom pulling her chrome twins and why the hell she had to,” Braxton says with a scowl on his face.

“We have a problem,” Dad’s voice comes through the line. “I’m calling a lockdown when you all get here. That means I want everyone and I mean everyone here. We need Donati, Briggs, and Mairettie on the phone, NOW!”

My lips draw tight. He doesn’t need to say anymore. I am starting to hate hearing those names. Never before, but lately, I really hate hearing those names.

Once we shut the office down everyone made their way over to Mom and Dad’s. I have no clue why Heather thought this didn’t include her. Once Rob and Braxton laid into her pretty good she ended up sitting in the back of my car sulking, refusing to ride with either her dad or anyone else and not allowed to drive on her own.

The vibe at Mom and Dad’s is tense from the moment we walk in the door, despite my mother moving about as if nothing happened at all. As soon as we walked in the door with Nora she had my daughter in her arms. Spoiled I tell you, rotten.

The women head into the dining room. Not too far away, but close enough to keep an eye on. My father fills us all in on what happened. To say we are fuming is an understatement.

“They didn’t know much. Only what they were told to do and what they were told to say if they were caught,” my father explains.

“So this Vanessa came up again,” I ask as I cock my head to the side already pulling my phone out to dial Thomas Briggs.

“It seems so,” Dad grumbles.

Nellie has been cleared of those trumped up charges for over a month now. All though I have been keeping a watchful eye I had brushed this shit off. Not anymore. I hate cowards and whoever is behind this is nothing but.

“Briggs, what can I do for you, Wyatt?” Thomas picks up the line sounding tired.

“My sister in law and the twins were attacked. This Vanessa has come up again. The message was and I quote, ‘You can’t hide her forever. It’s time for Donati and the Mairetties to pay. All of you will suffer until she is revealed, one woman at a time,’” I reiterate the message my father told me.

Thomas sighs and remains quiet for a few. “Okay, I was going to call and suggest this anyway. I am stretching my team thin right now. Otherwise, I would have sent a few of my squads out there to help out. I know it has been quiet, but I also know this problem is still lurking and causing trouble in other ways.

“I think you all should come to New York. I have plenty of room and the two Estates are as tight as we are going to get security wise. I could actually call in some favors to cover for Black and Lock if that’s a problem,” Thomas offers.

“I like the way that sounds, but don’t worry about Black and Lock. Are you sure you can handle the whole family coming along,” my father says.

“Bring anyone near and dear to you. We have room for everyone,” Thomas says.

“It’s settled. We’ll be there in the morning,” dad replies.

I look at him with a raised brow, but I know he is making the call for the family’s safety. I nod my head when he gives me a glare that dares me to challenge the unspoken order,
yeah, not going to happen
.

“Cars will be waiting when you arrive. My home is now your home. Hopefully, we will get a handle on this sooner rather than later,” Thomas says.

“Thanks, Thomas,” I say, and then the steel creeps into my voice. “And Briggs, I’m going to need that answer on who the fuck this Vanessa is real soon.”

“As soon as you get here, Son,” Thomas chuckles then hangs the phone up.

“I’m not leaving,” Heather hisses from the doorway of the dining room. I had no doubt that the women were listening in as best they could.

“We’re all going,” Rob says sternly.

“I’m not,” Heather rolls her eyes.

“Don’t let
us
put you in danger,” Braxton growls, pointing a finger between the two of them. “I’ll back off, for now. Your safety is more important. So get over it. You’re going.”

“You’re not the boss of me, you overgrown brat. I said I’m not going,” Heather yells stomping her foot.

I swear these two give me a fucking headache sometimes. Braxton jumps from his seat and flies across the room, until he is bent over nose to nose with Heather, cupping the back of her head. I lift a brow looking between Rob and the two bulls locking horns. Rob has a sly smirk on his face as he sits back in his seat.

“That’s what I thought,” Braxton says when Heather melts into him and his touch. He releases Heather and steps away with a scowl. He points a finger at her. “Only for now.”

Anyone in the room can read the millions of things Braxton just promised in those few words. I look to my wife who is shaking her head laughing at the two. I shake my head at her and laugh myself.

“You two need to find a room and have a good fuck,” my mother snorts. “Heather, let yourself have at what you want. No use in fighting it. He won’t stop until he gets what he wants. He is just like his father. The man wore me down.”

We all burst into much-needed laughter. Everything is a mess right now, but we still have each other. We’ll get over this. I’ve wanted to take Nelly to the East Coast anyway.
