Chapter Fifteen

Felicia didn’t know what to say into the silence as he drove them to the grocery store.

“Does this type of stuff happen often with him?” Harrison asked breaking the silence for her. Raising her hand to her bottom lip, Felicia began to nervously pick at it.

“Not as much as it used to. But yeah, it’s definitely not an uncommon occurrence.”

Boys who play at being men irritated Harrison beyond words. Especially when the men happen to be involved with friends and loved ones.

“So where do things exactly stand with you and David?” Harrison asked as he put his truck in park. He turned to Felicia and gave her his full his undivided attention.

“Honestly?”

“Nothing but.”

“There hasn’t been a David and I in quite a while. Like three – four years while…” This stuck out to Harrison. Was Felicia saying that she hadn’t had sexual intercourse in over three years...?

“Once I realized that he wasn’t going to change, had no desire to, I accepted that we weren’t meant to be. It was easy to pull back physically. I doubt he’s ever been faithful to me a day in his life. So that aspect of it was easy. It’s been breaking the emotional ties that’s been more of an issue than anything.”

“Even though he runs around with his women, he still depends on me for every little thing. And I mean every fucking thing Harrison. I know if I hadn’t done those things for him in the first place we wouldn’t be here. Well at least not at this point. We simply exist in the same house. I ask him over and over again when his tenants lease is up. I never get an answer. I honestly don’t know how much longer he expects us to live like this.”

Harrison let out a light chuckle. Much lighter than what he was really feeling especially towards that piece of shit scum. But Felicia had enough people who were telling her to end it. That she deserved better. What she needed was someone just to be in her corner without unloading their opinions on her about her life.

“That’s simple Beautiful. As long as you allow him to. Ahh, let me finish,” he admonished as she was about to interrupt him. “Why would he leave? He has a home, not a house to come to every night. Yes you and he may not be together intimately, but if what you’ve said is correct, he has a gorgeous ass woman and two precious daughters awaiting him every night.

“Although though he doesn’t appreciate it, he still has it in his possession. Then he’s allowed to disappear on the weekends to chill and spend time with his girlfriend on the side. Felicia’s he’s living the Scumbag’s ultimate dream. He has the best of both worlds. He’s committed to no one but himself and has two women catering to him.”

Felicia sat quietly and pondered on those words. She’s heard the speech time and time again that she needed to leave David. But never this bluntly from a man’s perspective. Turning to look at Harrison, she found herself moving closer as if a magnet was drawing her. She planted a soft kiss on his full and plush mouth.

“I hear you H.” Harrison raised his hand and ran it tenderly along the side of her face.

“Come on, it is way past your bedtime Miss Montgomery.”

“Please tell me you’re not opening tomorrow?” Felicia asked feeling guilty enough as it was.

“Okay I won’t tell you,” he replied flashing her a dimple in his right cheek.

“Hello, how may I help you?” the customer service clerk asked.

“Yes we need to send two hundred western union,” he answered.

Felicia began filling out the form the clerk handed them. She handed them over when she finished and went to remove her debit card when the clerk gave them the confirmation slip.
What the hell just happened?

“Harrison I know you did not just send that money!”

Grabbing her elbow, Harrison gently tugged causing Felicia to follow his lead.

“Harrison I know I told David I didn’t have five hundred but I do. I just know the twisted game he’s trying to play. I can afford to send him the money.” Harrison opened the pickup truck’s passenger side door for her and assisted her climb inside.

Getting in behind the wheel, he started the car. Harrison turned back towards her instead of putting it in drive.

“Felicia, I know you are okay financially. I didn’t send the money because I thought you couldn’t afford it. Your dad has given mine and myself a lot of advice on investments. A lot of them have paid off quite well. So of course he’d make sure his daughter and granddaughters are taken care of. That goes without saying.

“I sent the money because nothing gets to a man more than to know another man played a role in supporting him. But even more than that, I did it because it’s long overdue that someone take care of you. Look after you and have your best interests at heart. Bear some of your burdens.

“I know it’s a sticky situation at the moment. With you two still living together and all. But I want to date you Felicia. Now. I don’t want to wait for shit to hit the fan for you to reach the boiling point where you’ll finally throw his sorry ass out. Life is too short. And if what you’re saying is true, which judging by his actions they are. I get it. We can start to see where this thing between us goes.”

Felicia just sat staring speechlessly at Harrison. That was the last thing she expected him to say. It’s everything she’s dreamed of and thought about for all these years… She never truly believed she would ever have it. The opportunity to live life, date and be happy. Maybe eventually in like five years or so from now, when David finally decided to get out of her place. The fact that Harrison was willing to get involved with her before her mess was resolved, made her want to get it done that much more. Quick. Fast! And in a hurry.

But Harrison didn’t deserve to have David embedded into his life. Shit no one deserved that! Including herself.

“Wow, talk about the element of surprise. You have completely taken me off guard,” Harrison could tell that Felicia was having trouble forming words. Her clear uncertainty started to make him perspire just a bit. “Everything you said sounds great, but I would feel as if I were short changing you. Dating while David is still living in my house.”

Breathing out a sigh of relief, Harrison reached out grasping Felicia about the hips and turning them in the seat bench, until she was fully facing him.

“Are you and David still intimate?”

Felicia blinked her surprise. “No. I’m not having sex with David Harrison. I’ve told you that.”

“Are you sleeping with him?”

“The last time you could say I,” Felicia paused to give air quotes, “slept with David was when we were out of town visiting his family three years ago.” She could feel Harrison immediately tense up. “All four of us stayed in a hotel room together. David had his own bed and the girls slept with me.”

“Are you still in love with David?” Harrison ran the tip of his finger down the side of her face. Crossing over until his finger lightly skimmed her full bottom lip.

Felicia pulled her bottom lip in until it rested between her teeth. Only letting go to relieve herself from the intense and questioning gaze he levied on her. She repeatedly licked her lips. Her mouth had suddenly gone extremely dry.

“No. I am not in love or even in like for that matter with him. Tolerate him for my children is more,”

Felicia was cut short by the thick strong tongue that was thrust into her mouth. Said tongue was now slowly stroking her tongue. Harrison sucked her tongue into his mouth, deepening their kiss even more. He held her to him by the grip of hair he had in the palm of his hand. The kiss was so strong and forcefully overwhelming. Nothing like anything she’s ever experienced in her life.

Harrison’s lips left hers travelling down the side of Felicia’s neck. She fought the overpowering tickling sensation that made her want to pull away from the attention he was showering on her neck. But that tickling feeling was also causing fireworks to ignite and moisture to rain from her pussy lips. Harrison gave another tug at her tongue and that was the last straw for Felicia.

She pulled away from Harrison trying to gather her wits about her. Felicia gave into her basic instinct and thrust her body into his. The sudden shift in Felicia’s position caught Harrison off guard causing him to make contact with the window. Not that he’d noticed. He was too busy assisting Felicia with straddling his lap without breaking the connection their tongues held.

Felicia was not a twig by any standards. What turned her on most about Harrison, was that he wasn’t timid when it came to stroking and rubbing her. His hands and fingers were embedded in her flesh. She would be able to feel their presence hours from now. If she were lucky a bruise or two to better remind her. His fingers played her flesh like the fingers of a blind man reading his favorite novel.

Gripping the back of Felicia’s neck, Harrison pulled her back interrupting their kiss. If looks could kill he’d either be cuming or dead right now. Someone wasn’t happy that he interrupted the flow.

“Are you attracted to me?”

Felicia let out a snort before she could stop herself. “Really? Ummm, yeah. I think that goes without saying…Son,” she responded with a smirk.

“And are you interested in seeing where this thing between us is going smart ass?” Harrison asked as he gave her ass a firm slap and squeeze to emphasize his point.

“Ow,” reaching back behind her, Felicia attempted to rub the sting away. Harrison beat her to it. “If I’m being perfectly honest,” she paused and gave a roll of her eyes, “I’ve been interested in seeing what this thing was between us for quite some time. Life just always seemed to get in the way.”

“Good I’m glad we’re on the same page.” Glancing at the digital clock on the dash, Harrison let out a low long whistle at seeing it was a quarter till four. “Let me get you locked up safely in the house and head on home.” Harrison opened his door and sat Felicia to the side so he could exit first. He then pulled her out behind him, keeping hold of her hand he walked her to the door.

Harrison took the keys from her hand and unlocked her door. Stepping in, he gave a cursory glance to make sure things were as they had left them.

“You are going to be so tired tomorrow, H. I’m sorry our night didn’t go as planned.” Felicia mumbled the last part as she looked down at her hands. Harrison pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly.

“There’s nothing for you to apologize for. There were no plans, so nothing was ruined. I’m great. I was with you Beautiful.” Placing his finger under her chin he lifted her face up until her lips were in place and dropped a sweet succulent close mouthed kiss on her.

“Lock up and sweet dreams. I’ll call you tomorrow.”

Chapter Sixteen

“Arrrrgh, who the hell is calling so damn early!” Felicia grumbled as her cell phone rang for what had to be the fifth time in a row. Looking at her alarm clock, she saw it was only six thirty. Picking up her cell phone she saw that it was Jenna.

“What!” Felicia answered.

“Well good morning to you too sunshine! You sound as if you’re still sleep. I know you are not still in the bed. No. No. Noooo. We’ll have none of that ladybug. The girls are on vacation. No moping about. Get up and meet me at the gym in thirty.”

“Jenna trust me, this is not me moping because I miss my babies. This is me when I’ve only just gotten to sleep two hours ago.”

“Look at you, you naughty girl. What were you doing all night long? It wouldn’t happen to involve a certain fine ass mechanic would it?”

If Felicia thought convincing Jenna she wasn’t depressed by telling her the truth about last night was a good idea, she’d lied to herself.

“Jennaaaaaa, I’m tired…” Felicia whined. She was really beginning to feel sick to her stomach from lack of sleep. She could only imagine what Harrison was feeling like right about now.

“Okay you big baby! But you better call me first thing when you get up. I’ll give you until eleven.”

“TWO!” Felicia yelled and hung up the phone. She should really text H to see how he was handling a sleepless day at work. Felicia thought to herself as she snuggled deeper into her comforter. Burrowing her head underneath her pillow.

“Ok Felicia. I’ve given you more than the agreed upon allotted time. Spill!” Jenna demanded as Felicia tried to concentrate on getting her squats done. Felicia rolled her eyes at what most times seemed like her own little personal energizer bunny.

“Jenna, for real. Nothing happened along the lines you’re thinking. Trust me.” As she looked at Jenna through the mirror, she knew it was going to be one of
those
conversations. The kind that sucked you dry until you had nothing left.

“H came over after he closed up shop and we ate takeout while watching this show called…Sons... Sons of Anarchy. And just chilled.”
“Oh my gawd I love that show!” Jenna exclaimed suddenly looking around to make sure she wasn’t overheard. “Tonio thinks I hate it and only watch it to make him happy. Granted it started out that way, but that damn Jax Teller is fine!”

Felicia wasted precious air laughing at Jenna’s theatrics. “I couldn’t agree more girl! He is sexy as sin. But that damn Gemma though!”

“Nice try chickadee. We can talk about SOA later over margaritas. Right now we were discussing your own personal, live and in living color Jax Teller. So did anything exciting happen between you two while you were,
chilling
?”

“No not for real. David called needing me to wire him money as Jax, I mean H was about to leave.” Felicia couldn’t stop her laugh from bubbling up and joining Jenna who was damn near on the floor from laughing so hard. “Whatever Jenna. That was your fault. Anywho…H being the gentleman he is, took me to the store so I could wire the money.”

“So he was over late as hell then David called around what? I mean I called at 6:30am and you said you’d only been sleep two hours… so 4:30ish Son left? It takes that long to get confirmation on wire transfers now?” Jenna asked with a perfectly straight face.

“Well after the money was sent we sat in his truck and had a little talk. But that was all. Time just got away from us.”
