It was the sun that finally woke her. It shone in through the kitchen window of the cabin, illuminating all the space. It took her a few minutes to adjust to the sounds and light, but when she did, there was one thing that became crystal clear.

Okay, maybe two things.

She was a hot mess, and the men in her life were missing.

Rolling to her back, she stretched, hoping that she would be able to bounce back from a night of pure, unadulterated debauchery.

She had to laugh. “Damn you, men,” she muttered, grinning smugly.

When she rolled over, her hand came in contact with a note. It got her attention. Sitting up, Elizabeth clutched the blanket to her naked body. When she opened the letter
, it was hard not to smile.

‘Dearest Elizabeth,

Happy Anniversary from us. We hope that we made all your wildest fantasies come true. We know it was ‘ravage the savage’ but we couldn’t help ourselves. You know how out of control your Native arm candy can get.

We left you coffee, a change of clothes, and your SUV outside. Callen and I will see you at the office. It’s going to be hard to not smile like an idiot all day long. Last night was pretty spectacular.

Thank you for humoring your men.

Love always,

Your savages.

She laid back on the mattress and grinned. Oh, they made some fantasies come true, but this wasn’t over quite yet. As far as she was concerned, the men had thrown down a challenge.

“Oh, I still have to ravage my savages, boys,” she said to no one in particular. “It’s far from over.”

They had no idea….

Emma & Greyson Croft ~~

It was rare that they got to head back east, but for Emma’s high school reunion, Greyson was more than willing to accommodate.

He couldn’t help it.

Deep down, he wished he was only being a good husband, but he wasn’t. Truth be told, he was curious as hell.

While unpacking
their condo, he found her yearbook and secretly stole it away. When she was working late, or he was home alone, Greyson would flip through the pages, trying to get any information he could on his wife.

Maybe it was the Army sniper in him, wanting to study his subject, or the Fed who wanted to see what he was up against. Either way, it was no holds barred to find out any juicy little Emma tidbit.

It wasn’t like she was keeping secrets, but he was driven crazy by not knowing everything about her. When he found out that she was in an art club, he studied all the men who surrounded her, wondering if they had loved his wife. As she smiled in the pictures with her brother and his buddies, Greyson didn't miss the men staring at her like she was a tasty snack.

After all, he did the same damn thing.

The only thing all this snooping had done was to make him absolutely crazed.

When he
first found the book, with messages from her old friends in the back, he took the time to read them all. There were the typical ones from girls, some from boys, and then two in particular which caught his attention.

One was from a ‘friend’ who signed his message with love. The other was a boyfriend who looked a little too smug in his class picture. He’d be lying if he didn't own the fact he ran them
both. Yeah, he did full background checks on both of them. What he hoped to find was that they had both fallen off the face of the earth.

Yeah, no such luck.

In fact, one was a judge in a district court. The guy, who had been her boyfriend, had worked his way up the law ladder. There was no such luck with the other man either. He still looked like a jock and was now some athlete for a local team.

Oh, that didn't please him at all.

When his wife got the invite in the mail to her high school reunion, Greyson jumped at the chance. He wanted to see the men who loved his wife when she was some angel faced girl.

Was it caveman like?

Yes.

But he wasn’t denying he was one. In fact,
Greyson was pretty much over the edge.

He couldn’t help it.

His Emma had stolen his heart. From the second he saw her with copper hair blowing in the wind, emerald eyes sparkling, and beautiful smile, he was lost.

Now, he wanted to sneak a peek into her past.
Greyson Croft needed to see the men who let his beloved Emma escape their grasp.

One thing was for sure.

They were big idiots.

“Grey?”
Emma asked, touching his arm.

He turned his head from staring out the limo window
to face her. At some point, Croft must have slipped off into his thoughts. “Yeah, honey?” he asked, dropping his arm around her shoulders.

“Are you okay? You’ve been quiet all night. We can bail on the reunion if you want and head to your parents
’ house. I don’t mind,” she offered. “You know that reunions are all about seeing how time crucified the mean girls and jocks,” she added, laughing.

NO FREAKING WAY!
If he didn't get to see her in this element, there’d be no rest for the wicked. It would slowly eat away at him until he went insane from jealousy.

“No,
that’s okay, honey. I was just tying up some loose ends in my head. You know how busy it was at work before we left.”

She didn't believe him
for a single second. The man who never lied, just committed his own cardinal sin. She was pretty sure of it. Tucking her red hair behind her ear, she opted to let him get away with it.

For now…

“Okay, babe. Hey, there’s my old school,” she said, running her fingers through the gray which peppered Greyson’s hair above his ears. When he smiled warmly, Emma opted to relax. Greyson deserved a few minutes of privacy, even if it drove her crazy.

Staring over at the large building, he was ready to get this night started
. “Wow, it’s pretty big,” he said, as their limo pulled to a stop.

When the driver came around, Greyson helped his wife out
.

“Yeah, most of the city kids came here,” she offered, linking her hand through his. He looked so handsome tonight in his dark suit
with the black shirt beneath, open at his throat. It gave Emma chills, making her want to climb all over him. If anything, being married to the Director of the FBI in Vegas had its rewards. In all honesty, the perk was the sexy scenery. He was one hell of an adult playground, and she owned the property.

As they approached the door, a bunch of people stared over at them, whispering and pointing.

“What?” he asked her, lowering his voice.

“I guess they heard that Emma Starling hitched up with a powerful, sexy man,” she offered
, winking.

Croft
laughed. If anything, she was the alluring one. His wife had picked a simple black wrap dress that clung to every curve of her body. The sparkly heels made her legs look super long. So desirable in fact, that he wanted to spend an hour licking his way up them.

Okay, maybe two.

“Yeah, well we better get inside before they mob us,” he said, grinning.

That was a pretty good idea, sin
ce a few of the women appeared to be checking out her husband.

Yeah, let them try. She may look little but truth be told
, Emma would kick anyone’s ass if they made a pass at her man.

After checking in, they found name tags, and other people who Emma
had once called friends. There were hugs, laughter, and introductions all around. Everyone already knew her husband, because he was always all over the news.

In fact, so was she.

They were the ‘King and Queen of Vegas’, and a power couple. There wasn’t a day that went by where someone didn't want to know something new about their lives. From his suit, to her shoes, nothing was off limits. They’d even been asked when they were going to start a family. It was more proof that the newspapers and reporters were a bunch of rabid dogs.

It still boggled their minds. They were just Emma and Greyson.
They got dressed the same exact way everyone else did.

Who would have known it would explode like this?

Certainly not them.

After finding a table, getting some wine, and mingling
with the other alumni, Greyson Croft spotted one of the men from Emma’s past.

Well, well, well, here came the jock
from the pictures, and he was smiling a little too brightly for his own well-being. Yeah, this should be fun.

“Emma?” he
inquired, waiting for her to turn.

When she did, she started laughing. “Trey Montgomery. How are you?”

When he spun her in a circle and placed her back on her feet, Greyson didn't look amused.

“I’m good! You look
as gorgeous as ever,” he said, grinning. “I think you got even more stunning with age.”

She slapped him. “You’re a nut.”

Greyson cleared his throat.

Emma grinned at her husband, recognizing the look on his face. Her Neanderthal was about to go all caveman on someone. “Trey Montgomery, this is my husband, Greyson Croft.”

It took a second, but the name and face registered. “Seriously? The Fed?” he asked, offering a hand.

He took it. “Yes,
I’m the Fed.”

“I saw you on the news. It must be exciting to be a cop,” he offered. “I’m just in the minors, but I do enjoy playing ball,” Trey said, winking at Emma.
“Remember the fun we used to have, Emmy?”

Croft wanted to pluck out his eyeballs
at the use of that nickname.

She laughed, hoping Greyson would stay calm. “Yeah, we had some interesting times.

“You could say that! Do you remember that time we went to the library and snuck into the upper stacks to make out? Do you still kiss like that, Emma?”

Before she could comment, her husband
interjected. All it took was to hear her name and the phrase
‘make out’
in one sentence.

“Excuse me?
I don’t recall this story.”

Trey laughed, but Emma didn't. She
knew her husband and the telling look plastered across his face. Her husband was digging for information, and that wasn’t going to go well for Trey.

There was about to be a caveman apocalypse.

“Yeah, we used to have random places we’d hook up during the day, but Emma liked the library. It was very private, and we could get busy.”

He stared at his wife
, and she laughed. “By hook up, he means passing notes and a quick kiss. We were dating, not having some torrid sex romp.”

Trey grinned. “I wish. Although, that one time in the library, you did…”

She kicked him.

It was for his own good.

“Oh, I think I’d like to get a drink now. How about you, Emma, my sweet?” Greyson asked, leading her away from the gawking ball player.

“Uh, sure,” she said. “What’s wrong?” Emma asked, taking his hand.

“Nothing is wrong. I’m thirsty and want a tour. I’m curious to see where my wife went to school. Will you show me around?”

Croft prayed his face was remaining blank on the outside. Deep down, he wanted to rage around like a lunatic. Just the fact the man said ‘get busy’ drew up horrible pictures in his mind. This was his kitten, and no hormonal jock needed to be picturing her naked.

Once more, Emma didn't buy it but let it go. With Greyson, one never knew what would get him stirred up. While being the most gentle and loving man she’d ever known, there was also a darker side to him. Her Fed was possessive and dangerous.

Maybe a chilly beverage would be a good idea. It would give him time to calm down.
After getting their drinks, they strolled around the building.

“What’s upstairs?”
