He started pounding and thrusting, pushing hard into her as she clenched and gripped at him with the muscles of her sheath. She tried to keep her teeth in him, but it was no use, and as she cried out loudly, she let loose her grip on his neck. He smiled his most perfect seductive smile as he jolted her forward with a swift powerful penetration, and he used his free hand to pull her face to his, attacking her mouth and thrusting his tongue between her lips. His other hand stayed on her hip as he slammed into her, bringing her to orgasm with that one powerful stroke. She convulsed and clutched his shoulders as her muscles trembled and spasmed while the release worked through her.

The moment her peak had passed, he rolled their bodies swiftly over, and he pushed a deep stroke into her body. He started his nearly violent and perfect pace all over again. She stared up at him as he pushed her relentlessly forward, and he grunted, and his face contorted as he came close to losing control with every thrust. He pulled from her swiftly, leaning back to sit on his feet. He was watching her, gasping, and he looked nearly animalistic. His fangs glinted between his parted teeth, and she watched his hand reach to his hard cock and gently stroke over the glistening surface. His eyes fluttered, and he let them close as his head dropped back. He was trying to calm himself, and it was only as he dropped down to lay between her legs she understood why. He was nowhere near finished with her.

He pushed her thighs up toward her chest with a strong hand to the back of both, and his mouth moved to her bottom. She caught her own eyes fluttering as she felt his tongue pass gently over the puckered skin of her anus. He licked and delved as she relaxed her muscles and let his tongue slip past the tight ring. She was moaning, and he was too against the sensitive skin. When his finger pressed slowly into her wet hole, she cried out, but then she met his eyes, and she started to relax. He thrust and pulled, letting his eyes travel between his finger and what he was doing to her bottom up to her eyes and back down again.

When she felt another finger push in with the first, she groaned a deep loud sound from the pit of her gut. His strokes were deep but slow, and he scissored his fingers gently as he moved within her. His eyes continued to alternate between watching what he was doing and watching her reaction to his touch. His face was serious but relaxed as he pushed her.

He kneeled back up between her legs, and as he kept his fingers in place, he reached his other hand to her pussy, pushing two fingers into her wetness and pulling it down to her anus. He kept thrusting into her bottom, massaging the wetness into her, and his other hand moved to his cock, stroking slowly up and down along his length. His eyes looked nearly crazed with desire as they remained glued to what he was doing, and by the time he pulled from her, his jaw was tight.

“All of you.” He uttered the words as he slowly stroked the head of his cock against her most sensitive entry. He was holding her knee pushed up toward her thigh, and she was holding her other in the same place. She watched. She wanted to relax, but she was far too in heat for this man to keep her muscles loose. Just the sight of his need left her clenching and desperate for his touch. He pushed, nudged and then quickly pulled back as his eyes moved to hers, studying her reaction. He pushed again, sinking slightly deeper but retreating quickly. It was an incredible tease as he slipped just past her barrier only to pull back out. She knew it would hurt, but she wanted it.

The next time, the head popped past the tight ring of muscles and pain shot up her back, and she groaned. “Relax.” His voice soothed her as he maintained his place within her body. He didn’t withdraw but waited for her to release the tension. When she did, he pushed farther, deeper, and she hissed, but her body accepted him. He pulled back slightly, stirring the wetness before he pushed farther again. Her muscles were relaxing and letting go as he pushed deeper into her, and the sensation was incredible.

The feeling was everything it had never been before. This had been torture to her once upon a time, but he was showing her perfectly that it didn’t have to be. The feeling was amazing—invasive and consuming, distending and aching, but incredible and completely theirs. He inched deeper and deeper into her as his eyes watched, and he didn’t stop until he was fully embedded into her with his balls seated against her bottom. He leaned down to her mouth, kissing her lips gently, and when he pulled back, he pushed her thighs back to her chest. He pulled out, plunging slowly back in. Her body accepted him as he slid through the wetness, and she could feel the fullness against her tail bone as he reached her depths again.

He started a slow pace that built with every stroke until he was thrusting. “Touch your pussy for me.” He looked like he was barely hanging on, and she certainly wasn’t. As she touched her clit, and her muscles started trembling, she started whimpering, and he started groaning. She was running her finger over her sensitive nub, and she was fighting to keep her hips calm. She fought it as long as she could, but as her orgasm tore through her, her hips thrust upward, and her muscles tightened down on him. He cried out at the pressure, pushing one more deep penetration into her bottom as his own release left him spasming deep insider her and groaning loudly from deep within his chest. He released her knees, collapsing down over her, and his forehead found hers as they panted and waited for their bodies to quiet and calm.

He held her gaze as he relaxed into her. “God, Abby. I thought I’d never see you again.” He looked so desperately relieved to have her with him, and she knew he was.

“You can’t kill me that easily.” She smirked, reaching for his cheek and caressing his skin.

“Thank God for that, because I sure as hell tried.”

He pulled gently from her, watching his length leave her before he lowered himself between her legs, and his head found her belly as he collapsed. She stroked his hair as he rested his cheek to her skin. She was in heaven. Every last need and appetite had been so perfectly satisfied and fed, and she needed nothing else in the world but the man lying protectively over her who seemed intent on giving her everything.

She knew for the first time in more years than she could recall that she was going to be okay.

Epilogue

Early Fall

“Hard to believe you two beat us to the altar … or beach.” Angus had flopped down beside him on one of the two large blankets they’d laid out by the fire pit. Abigail’s head was in Quentin’s lap, and she angled her head back to look at Angus as he spoke, smiling at him.

“You’re getting married in literally one week. We’re not beating you by much.” He chuckled at Angus as Brit kneeled down between his legs and curled up next to him. It was breezy but warm on their little slice of Nantucket beach, and the western sky still showed just a hint of pink dusk. Truman and Ember were sitting next to the fire while Ember poked at the fire with a stick, complaining about something that had to do with a s’more, whatever the hell a s’more was.

“You’ll survive, Em. I swear.” Truman was humoring his wife’s quirkiness.

“I just don’t see why Quentin couldn’t devote some of his research time to figuring out a way for vampires to eat food!” She was hollering in Quentin’s direction, and he felt a small pebble hit the back of his head.

“Bigger fish to fry and all that.” He hollered over his shoulder as Abigail’s body shook with laughter. He looked down to her, his cock hardening by the second.

The official they’d hired to marry them had left less than thirty minutes before, and she officially belonged to him now. Since he most definitely belonged to her, it seemed appropriate. It was easy for them to marry quickly. No venue, no food, they weren’t bothering with pictures, and she was wearing nothing more than a gauzy white sundress that had left his heart stalled when he’d first seen her in it.

The others were heading back to Boston that night, but he and Abby were staying. At least for a week. She would be starting her first semester back to school in little more than a week, and she’d only just finished the outpatient treatment program. The judge fortunately hadn’t started the six week probation over but rather sentenced her to three weeks of Monday through Friday outpatient treatment in the same program. But regardless of the treatment program and just as she’d promised, she was seeing a counselor on her own. Medication was no longer an option, and he’d been terrified she’d end up killing someone in treatment. So much so, he sat in the parking lot all day on her first two days there. He was fortunate the days had been overcast, or he might have been in trouble. But she’d done well.

Being immortal seemed to agree with her. She told him she felt safer and much of the anxiety seemed to have been set aside in her new found security. She looked far healthier than she did when she was alive as well. The cancer had been killing her for some time before they’d discovered it, but when he expressed guilt at having missed it, she silenced him with a finger to his lips.

“Would I be here with you right now if you’d discovered it earlier, or would I be a human going through chemo or in remission even? I’m happy with this life. I’m more than happy with you. All is absolutely right in the world for me, and I’ve never been so at peace.” Her hands were on his cheeks when she said the words, and she’d kissed him sweetly. She was right, and he’d have her no other way than immortal and by his side for eternity. All was absolutely right in his world as well.

Angus stood, pulling Brit up to her feet, and as Angus glanced to Truman and Ember, they took the hint and stood to leave as well. Ember approached him, pulling him into one of her world famous hugs.

“Didn’t I say something about you immortal men falling for your mortal women?” Yes, she had. “I’m so happy for you both.” She said it quietly as she pulled away from him to take her husband’s hand, and within minutes, Quentin was finally alone with his wife and her lovely gauzy white dress he couldn’t wait to get her out of.

“I owe you an apology.” He spoke as he pulled her into his lap to straddle him. He pushed the skirt of her dress up to her waist, pulling her body snug to his. She cocked her head, and he kissed the tip of her nose. “I never should have left you in jail alone. Not coming to visit you was cruel.”

“It’s okay. I’m not upset…”

“I know you’re not, but it was wrong of me.”

She studied him. “Why didn’t you come for so long?” She nibbled on her lip. She had far more emotion bottled up about this than she had let on.

“I was hurt. It felt as though we’d crossed so many hurdles and then you just threw it away—you threw us away. I know that’s not true, but that’s what it felt like. I felt like I wasn’t enough for you to control yourself.”

“You’re the man I choose over all else in this world. Over the anger, over the fear, over the nightmares, over every last bit of my ugly past. I choose you. I will
always
choose you.”

“That was damn poetic, dearest. Why in God’s name did we go with the scripted vows?”

He kissed her, but she wasn’t done talking, and as her head tilted to the side, and she sucked her lip back between her teeth, she continued. “When I hit him…”

“Punched him.”

“Punched him. It was a blur, but the moment after…” She shook her head as her eyes moved off to some distant place over his shoulder. When she looked back at him, she took a deep breath and let it out. “I sank to the ground and started crying like a child. I knew what I’d done, and I knew what was going to happen. It was my fault.”

“Well, I’m sorry. You deserved better from me. I wanted to apologize to you the night I brought you home, and I intended to, but then … things got complicated.” He smirked, and she smiled at him.

“Yes, they did. But I need you to know, I’m okay now. I know there’s no easy answer for getting past all the garbage in my past, but…” She was measuring her words. “But I’m okay. I feel safer than I ever have, happier than I ever thought I could be, and I don’t know why I feel like I can say it with such certainty, but you don’t have to worry about me. I’m in control now. I’d rather you spend your time loving me than worrying about me.”

“But I’m so good at worrying about you.”

She chuckled. “Yes, you are. I just want you to understand that my perspective has changed. Nearly dying…”

“Dying, sweetie. You were just plain dead.”

“Dying helped me see things differently. Not that it took away the bad things. It just helped me put them in perspective. It helped me give them only the thought they deserved and not an ounce more. That fear used to consume me, and my reaction to it was so grossly exaggerated. But it’s not anymore. I just wanted you to understand that. I guess I just want you to trust that I can handle this, and I’m worried that’s asking a lot.”

“There’s a reason I wanted to marry you right away.” She cocked her head as she waited for him to finish. “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t worry about you. But I love you, and whatever struggles you do or don’t experience have nothing to do with that. I didn’t need to wait for some sign that you were the picture of emotional health, because I’m going to love you for eternity regardless of that. There are no restrictions to that love, no caveats, no strings.”

A tear ran down her cheek as she choked on the emotion. “Talk about poetic. I love you too.” And then she kissed him quickly on the lips. “Now can you please get me out of this dress?”

“For some sex on the beach fun?”

“It’s not just a good drink, ya know.”
