No
one spoke for a few seconds making it seem like time stood still. “Oh my god
what are you to doing?” Laura squealed as soon as she snapped out of her
stunned silence.

Eric
stood quickly. “Laura I can explain,” he said softly like he was trying to calm
her down.

“Are
you sleeping with her?” Laura’s horrified tone had gone up another octave and I
was sure everyone in the house was going to hear her.

“It
is more complicated than that,” Eric growled. He was starting to get an annoyed
tone as he spoke.

“She
is my best friend!” she yelled. She was getting hysterical and he was making it
worse.

“Laura
please calm down and talk to us rationally,” I said as I stood. “I understand
you are upset, but yelling and screaming won’t change anything.” I was trying
to reason with and trying to get her not to alert the entire house.

She
turned her angry gaze on me and I knew she wasn’t going to just stop. “You are
my best friend! How could you do this to me! I trusted you!”

I
was sorry that she had to find out like this, but I wasn’t sorry I did it. I
liked Eric and he liked me. I was a little worried that he liked me because of
my resemblance to his dead wife, but I tried to avoid thinking about that. I
also had the small issue of telling Eric about Nathan, but I tried to avoid
that issue as well. I took a deep breath and tried to remain calm. “Laura I am
sorry you had to find out like this, but I am not going to apologize for liking
your father.”

My
words seemed to infuriate her more. “Get out! I want you out! I don’t ever want
to talk to you ever again!” She was screaming at the top of her lungs now.

“That
is not your decision Laura! This is my house and my rules,” Eric yelled back at
her.

She
looked like this was the first time he had ever yelled at her. She actually
looked hurt. “Fine, then I will leave!” she cried and ran out of the room
slamming the door behind her.

Eric
was looking at the door and I could see he was upset. I could knew he never
talked to Laura like he just did, and he was worried because he hurt her feelings.

“I
can leave. It is no big deal. I understand how she feels. I was expecting this
to happen if our relationship ever got out,” I said softly as I sat back down
on the bed. The last thing I wanted to do was leave, but I would if I had to. I
didn’t want to make Eric’s life any harder, and I was supposed to leave in a
week anyway.

He
scowled. “You aren’t leaving. I will talk to her.” He walked out of the room
leaving me alone.

I
groaned and flopped back down on the bed. This was going to be a disaster.
There was too much complication here and I knew it would be better just to
leave. The thought of leaving Eric made my chest ache, and that ache was what
was keeping me anchored to the bed. I couldn’t just leave even though it would
be the easiest route.

After
a few minutes the door flew open and bounced off the wall startling me. Laura
came marching in looking like she was ready for a fight. She shut the door
behind her then glared at me. “I can’t believe you did this! I never thought
you would betray me like this! He is my father!”

I
sighed. “Laura I know. I didn’t think it would go this far. I am sorry.”

She
scoffed. “I know you better than that. You aren’t sorry and I think you knew
what you were doing. So what is the plan? Are you just going to leave next week
and break his heart? He can’t handle any more heartbreak Emma.”

I
was getting annoyed with her tone. She was talking to me like I was an idiot.
“Laura he and I both knew what this was when it started. We have no plans to
take it any further than it has gone. We are both adults and he knew I had no
plans to stay here after the summer. I did not trick him or lie to him.”

She
crossed her arms defiantly like what I was saying wasn’t what she wanted to
hear. “If you break his heart I swear I will never talk to you again,” she
growled and marched back out of the room.

I
was annoyed and upset. I decided to wait it out and hope that Eric would come
back and talk to me. I grabbed a book and sat in the window bench. I was
attempting to read, but my mind was racing and I could barely make out the
words. There was so much going on, and I hadn’t even told Eric about Nathan.
The thought was haunting me. I knew he wasn’t going to take it well.

A
light knock on the door distracted me from my thought. “Come in,” I said hoping
it was Eric.

 Lily
peeked her head in. “Hey; I heard, can I come in?” she asked looking slightly
amused.

“Yes,
you can,” I said quietly as I laid the book in my lap. “Are you going to yell
at me to?” I asked softly as she shut the door behind her.

“Nah,
I kind of knew something was up. He looked at you like you were dinner all the
time,” she said waving her hand like it was no big deal. She sat down on the
bed and smiled at me. I was a little relieved everyone didn’t hate me.

“Where
is Eric now?” I asked wondering why he hadn’t come back yet. It had been close
to an hour and I was going insane. We needed to talk and decide what we were
going to do now that everyone knew about us. There was also still the issue of
Nathan that I had yet to break to him. Our relationship just seemed doomed no
matter how I looked at it.

She
grinned. “Granny is downstairs reading him the riot act. You know how it goes,”
she said amused.

I
had forgotten about Granny. I liked Granny and I was pretty sure she wasn’t
going to like me any longer. “This is getting out of hand,” I muttered.

“It
will blow over, you just have to give it time,” she said making an attempt to
sound encouraging.

“I
am leaving next week anyway. They will hopefully forget about it once I am
gone,” I said quietly. The prospect of leaving was getting less and less
appealing as every day passed. Even though everyone found out, it was one less
secret I was keeping which made me feel a little bit better.

She
nodded. “Well I should go run interference. I will talk to you later,” she said
amused. She left and I was back to being alone with my thoughts.

I
couldn’t sit and wait in my room anymore. I decided to go to the library and
hope Eric would show up soon. He knew my favorite place was the library, so I
knew he would find me eventually.

After
almost another hour the library door opened prompting me to set my book aside.
Eric came in and he looked a little haggard, but he smiled anyway.

“Is
everything ok?” I asked a little worried.

He
nodded. “They are all a little upset, but I think they will get over it.”

I
stood watching him and he made no attempt to come any closer to me. “So is this
it then?” I asked softly. I didn’t have to say what I was thinking. I knew he
was already thinking the same thing.

He
shifted nervously and ran his fingers through his hair. “I don’t know what to
do. Right now it seems like it would be best to just quit seeing each other.”
He sounded like he was saying it, but he didn’t really mean it.

“Maybe
I should leave. I need to get settled before school starts anyway,” I said
trying not to sound hurt.

“No,
you don’t have to leave. I don’t want you to leave. You can enjoy the rest of
the summer here like you were meant to,” he said sounding worried. I knew he
didn’t want me to leave, but I couldn’t imagine staying here and not being with
him.

“I
will think about it, I have until next week to decide for sure,” I said
quietly.

He
nodded. “I should get back down there. I am sorry for all this,” he said
softly.

I
smiled and nodded. I didn’t want him to see how hurt I was. The ache in my
chest was getting worse. The fear that the secrets would tear us apart had come
true. He opened the door to leave and looked at me one last time. He looked
like he wanted to say something, but he didn’t speak. He shook his head like he
thought better of speaking and walked out leaving me alone.

As
soon as he was gone tears rolled down my cheeks. I couldn’t be strong when he
wasn’t in front of me. He broke up with me and it hurt. The ache in my chest
was so intense it felt like I couldn’t breathe.

The
door opened and Nathan came in. I scowled and quickly wiped my tears away. I
didn’t want him seeing me weak. “I just wanted to check on you,” he said
quietly as he came in the room.

“I’m
fine,” I said sounding more confident then I felt.

“Emma
you don’t always have to be fine. I know you are hurt. Any normal person would
be hurt,” he said softly.

I
stood up annoyed. I didn’t need him trying to act like my father right now. I
had always been on my own and I did well on my own. He refused to help me when
I needed him; now I didn’t need him and he was trying to help. “I am fine, shit
happens,” I growled and went to walk past him.

“You
can’t keep running Emma,” he said sounding as annoyed as I did.

“I
am not running,” I snapped, glaring at him.

“I
know what running looks like. I ran for years and now look at me. I am dying
because I do not have a family member that can or will donate to me because I
was too selfish. Now I have absolutely nothing because of my arrogance,” he
said trying to make a point.

He
actually had the nerve to say he didn’t have a family. He didn’t know what not
having a family meant. “You are right. You are arrogant and selfish because if
you weren’t you would see that you have everything. Eric and Laura love you and
would do anything for you. You have a family, I don’t because you wouldn’t give
me one! At least when you die someone will care!” I was so angry I couldn’t
stay in the room with him any longer. I had to leave. I had to get away from
him.

I
hurried to my room and retrieved my purse. I had to get out of the house. I was
going to go insane if I had to speak to anyone else about Eric and me.

I
walked outside into the fresh air. I walked along the sidewalk. I was glad the
house was so close to everything because I didn’t want to wait on a cab. I
walked down the sidewalk until I found a small bar. It was a little busy
because it was summertime, but I went in anyway and ordered a drink.

By
my third drink I was feeling pretty good. The bartender was a decent looking
guy and he was giving me my drinks on the house. It was getting later in the
evening so the bar was getting more crowded.

I
was standing near the bar when someone pressed up against my back. I got
alarmed at first, but when I caught the scent of his cologne I relaxed.

“You
shouldn’t drink alone,” Eric whispered in my ear. I hated to admit it, but the
sound of his voice and his breath on my neck made my skin tingle in
anticipation.

“I’m
not, there are people everywhere,” I said playfully.

His
hands went to my hips and he laid a gentle kiss on my neck. I could smell
alcohol on his breath and I was wondering how long he had been here. “I can’t
stop thinking about you,” he said softly as he gently rubbed his face against
my cheek.

“Ya
well that’s why breakups suck,” I said quietly and took the shot the bartender
set in front of me.

Eric
turned me around and I looked up at him. I knew what he was thinking. He wanted
sex and I was surprised when I realized I wasn’t opposed.

“They
say break up sex is really fun,” he said playfully; then he kissed my lips
gently. I felt a surge of excitement rush through me as soon as his lips touched
mine. I wanted him. Part of me loved it, and another part of me hated it
because I knew in the morning we would be back to being broken up.

“Oh?
I have never had it. I have never broken up before,” I said dryly.

He
smiled. “Come home with me,” he whispered softly.

“Mmm,
people in your home are a little hostile toward me right now,” I said amused.

He
laughed. “Said people are out at bingo and club hopping.” He wasn’t going to
let it go and his mouth on my skin was driving me insane.

I
groaned against his lips as he went to kiss me again. “You are making it hard
for me to forget about you,” I pouted.

He
looked at me and his eyes were glittering with amusement. He knew the effect he
had on me and he was enjoying himself. He shifted so his erection pressed
against my thigh making my mouth go dry. I wanted him so bad and he knew it. I
had a hard time saying no to him when I was sober. I definitely wasn’t going to
say no when I was slightly drunk.

I
sighed and grabbed my purse. “Fine take me home, but tomorrow we are back to
being broken up.”

He
nodded and tossed money at the bartender, then took my hand and pulled me toward
the exit. He looped his arm around my waist as we walked down the sidewalk
toward his house. The place was alive with activity. It was the middle of
summer at the beach. People were up all night.

Once
we were on the porch of his house he pushed me up against the door and pressed
his mouth to mine. He kissed me aggressively as he fumbled with the key to
unlock the door. I quickly undid the button of his jeans and exposed his hard cock.
He groaned as I grasped his shaft and squeezed gently. I slowly massaged him
enjoying how he felt in my hand. The door finally opened and I giggled as we
stumbled inside. He shut the door and then pinned me to it. His hands slid up
my thighs and under my dress. His mouth was on me as he grasp my panties and
slid them down going to his knees in front of me as he did.

 He
put his head under my dress and I moaned as he ran his tongue over the
delicate, heated skin between my thighs. At that moment I really couldn’t
figure out why I ever even thought about leaving him. I tangled my fingers in
his hair and pressed my hips against his mouth. His creative tongue found every
tender spot and teased until I was crying out and begging for more. He quickly
stood and pressed his mouth to mine. I could taste my release on his lips and
it only excited me more. I quickly unbuttoned his shirt and kissed his chest
inhaling his scent. I went to my knees in front of him and covered his hard
cock with my mouth. He groaned and began to move his hips encouraging me. I
sucked and teased him enjoying how I made him twitch and moan in ecstasy. I was
close to making him release when he pulled me to my feet and kissed me.

“I
wasn’t done teasing you,” I pouted in-between his frantic kisses.

“You
can tease me more later; right now I want to fuck you,” he whispered
seductively. I loved how he could make talking dirty sexy. He pulled me across
the room then pushed me over the foyer table. I was on my belly and he was
behind me. He pushed my dress up and grasped my hips. I gasped in surprise when
he slid his hard cock inside me. I was a little worried about being caught, but
that thought was quickly lost as soon as he started moving. He hit every tender
spot inside me. I pushed against him encouraging him as he thrust. Pleasure
coursed through and I felt my nipples harden in anticipation of my release. I
cried out when the pleasure became intense. The feeling washed over me and my
body sagged under him as I relaxed and let the pleasure take over. He pulled
out of me and pulled me to him. His mouth covered mine and he kissed me
hungrily.

I
tangled my fingers in his hair as her lifted me, then carried me to the living
room. He sat on the couch so I was straddling him. I kissed him aggressively
enjoying how his body felt under me. I shifted and he slid back inside me filling
me completely. I moaned against his lips as I began to move. I had complete
control over him and I loved it. I ground into him and pulled back when the
feeling got too intense. He growled in excitement and rolled so he was pinning
me to the couch. He kissed my neck aggressively making me giggle. He moved over
me and I ran my hands over his perfect chest. He smiled at me and pressed his
mouth to mine. I tangled my fingers in his hair and groaned in excitement
bucking against him. I cried out as an orgasm tore through me again; this one
more intense than the last. I writhed under him in pleasure and he lost it crying
out as he released. He buried his face in my hair as he slowed his thrusts and
relaxed allowing the feeling to course through him.

I
laid under him completely content and relaxed. I wasn’t sure how we were going
to manage to stay broken up if we continued to have sex like this. It was too
hard for me to say no to him especially when his mouth and hands started
wandering my body.
