“Thank you,” she says, and then
kisses me. Our lips clash for around a minute before Mercedes pulls apart.

“Thank you, thank you for that trip
to the spa! It felt like heaven.”

“I knew you’d love it,” I say. “And
prepare yourself. That was just the first phase of my self-imposed mission for
today.”

Mercedes curves her eyebrow.

“And what is that?”

“Pamper you. Today, exactly a month
ago, is the first day we met,” I say, embracing her. Mercedes sobs.

“Love, you remember.”

I laugh softly.

“Of course. I’ll never forget that
day for as long as I live. It was the day I met the love of my life.”

Mercedes leans away and looks up at
me. Her eyes are filled with wonder.

“You consider me…the love of your
life?”

I smile, and then plant a quick kiss
on her lips. Then I do the same to her nose. She giggles.

“Yes, Mercedes. I know it hasn’t been
long since we met, but I’m sure about what I feel. I love you.”

A tear falls down Mercedes’s cheek. I
raise my hand and wipe it.

“I love you, too.”

Mercedes’s robe falls. She looks at
me with such love that it makes me feel happier than I’d ever felt. I run my
hand down Mercedes’s arm, caressing softly.

Without a word, I kneel in front of
Mercedes until my eyes are level with her sweet spot. I look up at her, and she
looks back. With a mischievous, sexy grin, I lean forward and lick her pussy
lips. She groans, closing her eyes. I start eating her out. My tongue caresses
her soft, wet folds. I reach with my fingers and gently pry her folds away,
looking for her clit. I see it and begin lashing my tongue against it.

Mercedes’s moans grow louder. I
continue licking her until she shatters into sweet oblivion. Mercedes falls to
her knees. I grab hold of her waist. Then I press my lips to her mouth. She
puts her arms around me.

Moments later, we walk out of the
shower. I’m taking Mercedes out.

“Where are we going?” Mercedes asks
me while I drive. I smile, keeping my eyes on the road.

“You’ll find out soon enough.”

Mercedes looks around, as if it might
help her figure out where I was taking her.

Not long after, I turn left at an
intersection and Mercedes looks to her right. She turns to me.

“We’re going to the Golden Gate
Park?”

“We’ve
come
to the Golden Gate
Park,” I clarify as I turn into another intersection. I search for a place to
park. Afterward, I kill the engine. I get out of the car and walk around to
Mercedes’s side, opening her door.

“This is one of my favorite places in
the city.”

I raise an eyebrow.

“Yeah? Then I made a good choice.”

“What are we doing? Having a picnic?”

“You read my mind, angel.”

I open the back passenger door and
grab a basket and a blanket from behind Mercedes’s seat. With my free hand, I
hold one of hers and we walk together.

I find a nice, shady spot under a
tree and open the blanket. After laying it on the grass, Mercedes helps me
straighten it. Then we both sit on the blanket. I pass the basket to Mercedes.

“You first, if you’re hungry,” I say.
Mercedes opens the basket.

“I
am
hungry. I only had a
bite between my martial arts lesson and the spa appointment. Not that I
complain,” she adds, grabbing a bologna and cheese sandwich. “I loved that
gift.”

“Thanks. I would have loved to
massage you myself, but unfortunately I had work.”

“Trust me, I know you’d like to keep
exploring my body. As if you didn’t know it by heart already.”

“I’ll never get tired of the feel of
your skin, or what you smell and taste like. I’ll always want you.”

Mercedes goes partially red.

“And you’re getting that massage from
me soon. Mark my words.”

“I anxiously look forward to it.”

Mercedes looks so beautiful, so
carefree. I’m glad that I make her happy. Nothing fulfills me more than that.

I open the basket and grab a zip bag
with chocolate chip and nut cookies inside. I show it to Mercedes and then hand
it to her. She looks at the bag with wide eyes.

“Chocolate chip cookies!” Mercedes
says after she swallows her bite of sandwich. “With nuts. I love these.”

“I made them,” I admit. Mercedes
opens her mouth.

“Seriously? They look yummy,” she
says, opening the bag. Mercedes grabs a cookie and takes a bite. She closes her
eyes, making a big show of enjoying the cookie. I grin at her in amusement.

Mercedes opens her eyes. She looks at
me and then swallows, bursting into laughter. I join her.

“Did you—did you truly make them?”
she asks.

“It’s one of my secret talents,” I
tell her. “I can bake tasty cookies and brownies.”

Mercedes raises her eyebrows.

“Mmm, brownies. You better start
putting their jar on the topmost shelf.”

I laugh at that. Mercedes breaks the
cookie into two and pops a piece into her mouth. I reach into the basket and
grab a sandwich for myself.

“I’m serious,” Mercedes says. “Keep
the brownie jar out of my reach if you want to keep me svelte.”

I scoff.

“As if I’d love you less.”

“That’s sweet. But it’s not as much
for you as for me. I’m serious about fitness.”

“Anorexic?” I ask, teasing.

“Hell no. I’d rather you fatten me
than make myself look like a beanpole.”

I take a
bite of my sandwich. This woman amazes me more every day. She’s everything I
didn’t know I was looking for.

Mercedes

The cookie tastes so, so yummy. I
wonder how long Gabriel’s been baking cookies. I would never have guessed that
baking pastries would be a hidden talent of his. And brownies? I’d have married
him on the spot if he’d told me he bakes brownies the first time we met.

Gabriel and I quickly finish the
sandwiches and all the cookies. I feel a little full, so I stand up and stretch
my arms. Gabriel stands up too.

“Feel like taking a walk?” he asks. I
consider it for a few seconds, and nod.

Gabriel takes the blanket and folds
it into a square. After he leaves with the basket back in the car, Gabriel
returns to me and takes my hand. We start walking around the park.

A light breeze starts blowing. I
close my eyes and open my arms as we walk.

“Ah, this wind feels great. I was
getting warm.”

“Yeah,” Gabriel says. I look at him,
grinning. He takes my hand again. We continue walking.

“You know,” I say. “We’ve gotten
serious about our relationship, and we only met a month ago. I think we should
start knowing each other better.”

Gabriel looks at me in confusion.

“What do you have in mind?”

The corner of my lip turns up.

“What’s your favorite movie?”

Gabriel blinks, and then it dawns on
him.

“We’re playing the questions game,
huh? I’m in.”

We keep walking as Gabriel thinks
about his answer for a few seconds.

“Favorite movie is
The Negotiator.
The one with Kevin Spacey and Samuel L. Jackson.”

I know that movie.

“So you like action, police
procedurals?”

“Yeah. I was a big fan of eighties
action movies when I was younger.”

“You don’t look that old.”

Gabriel laughs.

“No, but my dad is a big fan of
action movies as well. I guess it rubbed off on me.”

After a few seconds, Gabriel looks at
me.

“What’s
your
favorite movie?”

I blush a little.

“Family-friendly? I would say
Upside
Down
. I like sci-fi and fantasy.”

Gabriel grins at me.

“Do you have a non-family-friendly
favorite movie?”

I turn redder.

“Yes. It’s
Killing Me Softly.

I turn to look at Gabriel. His jaw
falls.

“The one with the hot blonde?”
Gabriel asks. He laughs, and I grin.

“What? What’s so funny?”

“Not funny. I just…wasn’t expecting
that.”

I put my arms on my waist.

“What did you expect me to say?
Killing
Me Softly
is one of the hottest movies ever filmed.”

Gabriel says nothing, lost for words.
I get an idea.

“Do
you
have a
non-family-friendly favorite movie?”

Gabriel turns to me, his eyebrows
furrowing.

“Not really. Um…I haven’t seen many
sexually explicit movies, you know.”

I look at him in disbelief.

“Come on!
Every
guy has a
secret list of sexy movies they like to watch. Don’t be coy.”

Gabriel thinks about what to say.

“I won’t get jealous if you have a
celebrity crush.”

Gabriel sighs, relenting.

“Okay. I think…
Love and Other
Drugs
.”

I nod in approval.

“That one’s pretty good.”

“Yeah. It’s got sizzling sex, but
also a solid plot. And I like the title.”

“You think love is a drug?”

“It must be. I’m freakin’ addicted to
you.”

The comment gives me the sensation of
butterflies in my stomach.

We come up with other questions.
Gabriel asks me if I’ve got a celebrity crush.

“Yeah. My crush is Chris Hemsworth.”

“Who’s that?” asks Gabriel. I frown.

“I suppose you’re not into Marvel
superheroes. Chris plays Thor! The powerfully-built god of thunder.”

“Oh, the dude with the big-ass
hammer?”

I bump Gabriel in the arm. He laughs.

“I’m just teasing,” he says.

“Don’t be jealous, though,” I tell
him. “You’ve got serious muscles. I don’t mind you don’t wield a hammer.”

“People wouldn’t stop staring at me
if I did that.”

I laugh.

“Who’s your celeb crush?” I ask next.

“Lizzy Caplan.”

I raise my eyebrows.

“She’s attractive.”

Gabriel grins.

“Favorite color?” he asks me.

“Teal.”

“Mine’s yellow.”

“Ooh. The color of caution.”

Gabriel chuckles, shaking his head.

“Favorite pastime?”

“Um…jogging,” I answer.

“Nice. I like to use Jet Skis.”

“So I figured. Now’s my turn. Your
favorite car?”

“Though question. Let’s
see…Subaru.”

“Good choice. My favorite is
Infiniti.” I follow with another question. “Favorite food?”

“Steak casserole.”

“Macho stud,” I mutter. “Mine’s
salmon.”

Gabriel and I continue with our
questions game on the way back to the car. I’ve totally enjoyed this time with
him. And I learned so much.

“Would you like to see a movie with
me?” Gabriel asks once we’re back on the street. “We still have time to catch
one, if you like.”

“That’ll be fun,” I say. I pull my
smartphone from my purse and check the showtimes.

“Is
Endless Love
okay?” I ask.

“Whatever you like. I told you, my
task today is to spoil you.”

I giggle, putting my phone back.

Endless
Love
it is.”

After the movie—which I didn’t pay
much attention to, as I kept touching Mercedes—I take her back to her apartment.
When I pull up outside, Mercedes looks like she wishes she could stay with me
all night.

“This was a wonderful day, Gabriel,”
Mercedes says. She leans into my hand, which is stroking her hair. “Thank you.”

“Anytime. Whenever you feel like being
treated like a princess, you know where to knock.”

Mercedes laughs softly. That sound
has become my favorite in the world. It sounds a bit cliché, but is true.
Mercedes’s voice is as beautiful as she is.

“I’ll keep that in mind.”

We kiss
each other goodbye, and then Mercedes steps out of the car. I watch her walk to
the building’s entrance. Before she enters, Mercedes waves at me and blows a
kiss. I do the same. Then Mercedes turns and disappears into the building. I drive
forward and to my apartment.

I dream about Mercedes that night. In
the dream, we are on some beach, lying on our backs. We contemplate each other,
both of us crazy in love. I’m also mesmerized by her marvelous body. Those
curves must be the envy of women all around the city.
