“Go back to your husband, Eve,” her mother advised.

“You can’t be serious,” Eve said, staring at her mother as if she were seeing a complete stranger. “After everything that has happened, you want me to go back to him? Mama, I get it; you were right. I should have listened. But telling me to go back to him is ridiculous.”

“That’s the problem. You listened, but you didn’t hear me,” Nadia replied slowly. “What I warned you of was that if you dated an athlete, you should be prepared for him to cheat. Nowhere in your story have you told me that Chase cheated. In fact, what did happen, happened before you ever met him. You may not like his methods, but the reality is that all he tried to do was protect you. You can’t give up at the first sign of adversity,
mija. You don’t stop driving just because you hit a pothole. You owe it to him and yourself to go back and do whatever it takes to make your marriage work. At least talk to him!”

Eve snapped back to reality as the intensity of the stroking increased and she felt her body giving in to the sensation. She writhed seductively in response. She and Chase had always competed to see who could make the other cum first. She usually won, and she wasn’t about to be outdone now. She opened her legs wider and squeezed. Chase had never been able to withstand the sensation that this move created, Eve thought, and from the resulting moan of pleasure, she was sure it was working right now. She squeezed even harder, but suddenly felt the stroking subside as he pulled himself from her.

Eve was caught totally by surprise when he lowered himself to her center and began tonguing back her pubic hair, exposing her clitoris. He licked skillfully up and down her pussy with rapid flicks, each one threatening to send her into a lust-filled frenzy.

“Damn, that feels good,” she moaned, clasping his head with both knees and forcing him deeper into her center.

“Mmmm,” he responded, gently sucking her clitoris as he placed a finger inside her.

Eve opened her eyes. Seeing a man’s head buried between her legs had always been a turn-on, and now was no different. Tiny ripples of delight flitted from her stomach down to her pelvis like the crescendo of a classical music piece. She closed her eyes, hoping to avoid the climax that would surely come if she continued to watch.

Chase had an array of tricks he performed with his tongue that made him a master at eating pussy. Eve kept waiting to feel the familiar nibble on her lips, tug at her clit, or slight nuzzle at her asshole. Instead, he gently turned her over onto her stomach and entered her from behind.

Eve opened her legs to allow him easier entry, and her pussy responded with several unforced pulses. By now she was so wet she
could hear the smack of their sexual juices with every stroke. He was hitting spots she didn’t even know existed, and she found her breath coming in gasps as she struggled to keep up with his intensity. He pushed into her until every inch of him was engulfed, then suddenly, all movement stopped.

“Oh!” The exclamation escaped her lips before she even knew it was coming. She gripped the covers as her body began to tremble.

“Yeah, baby. Damn, your pussy feels good!” He gently pushed in a little more, as if to add punctuation to his statement.

Eve was about to relax and enjoy the sensation when he swiftly pulled himself from her and turned her onto her back. He parted her legs and was inside her before she had a chance to catch her breath. This time he mixed the cadence, using long strokes until only the tip of his dick was inside her, then short pumps until he was completely imbedded again.

Eve bit her lip to prevent the escape of any more unedited exclamations. Her entire body was tingling, and there was a throbbing in her vagina like she had never felt before.

This was not supposed to happen. We were just going to have a drink and talk,
Eve reminded herself . . .
and by talking, I did not mean body language!
She giggled at the thought of how quickly she’d given in to the temptation of him.

As their bodies now moved in syncopated tempo, the passion was so hot that every movement nearly sent her over the edge.

So this is what sexual healing feels like,
she thought, throwing her head back and totally giving in as he made love to every inch of her body.

Her pussy felt like the pad of a doctor, with his dick being the pen that wrote the prescription for everything her body needed. It felt good, and Eve was enjoying every moment. She could hardly wait to feel that sudden rush of completion, but she was not quite ready to end the intimacy and tenderness she was experiencing.

Gently nudging his shoulder with her palm, she indicated that
she wanted him to roll over, and in the shadow of the darkness, she saw the smile on his face as he eagerly acquiesced.

Eve mounted him, slowly lowering herself onto his glistening hard shaft, then reeling him in with adept Kegels. She then began to vaginally write the ABCs, moving her pelvis to draw out each letter . . .
in cursive!
Eve smiled, remembering that Chase rarely made it to the letter N. Her signature dip in the middle of the letter M got him almost every time.

“Damn, girl, you got skills!” he growled huskily as he gripped her waist.

Eve took her time. She could feel his body shudder with the completion of each letter. As she dotted the letter i, she was interrupted by the ringing of her cell phone. She paused, considering her next move. Not answering it would give him the impression that nothing else mattered right now but the two of them and the steamy lovemaking session that had been going on for over an hour. Answering it would be considered tacky. Before Eve could make a decision, he made one for her.

“You need to get that?” he asked, his voice edgy with passion.

Still straddling him, Eve leaned over and retrieved her cell phone from the nightstand. She tried not to react as she read the caller ID. It was Chase! She hesitated, her breath heavy, her mind racing. In an attempt to force any further thoughts from entering into her mind, she pressed the ignore button.

“No,” she replied softly as she tossed the phone to the foot of the bed and continued with the letter J . . .

To be continued . . .

When
I signed on to do
The Basketball Wives,
I never dreamed that that decision would’ve led me to a place where I’d have the opportunity to do all the things I’ve been blessed to now do. From showcasing my Florida shoe store Dulce, establishing my Evelyn Lozada online store, to creating my dream cosmetics line E by Evelyn Cosmetics, and lastly being a part of The Wives Association novel series, it has all been truly amazing! From the bits and pieces in my journals where I detailed the experiences of some of us who have dated, were engaged to, or married athletes, this information has given a voice to characters that make up our novel,
Inner Circle.
I say “our” because my coauthor and friend Courtney Parker took all of my personal stories and created a drama-filled series that is as raw and real as the actual situations themselves. Courtney, you were the angel God brought into my life to make this project a reality. I am forever grateful. Thank you!

In giving thanks, I’d like to thank my publishers Baby and Slim of Cash Money Content and the entire CMC staff. Baby and Slim, you all have taken me in, and I am honored to be a part of the YMCMB family. Always one hundred! To Vernon Brown, Marc Gerald, and Molly Derse—I appreciate all of your hard work and promise to do your absolute best in making it successful. To my legal team: Kenny Meselias, Ed Shapiro, and Johnathan Ehrlich—thank you, guys, so much for always having my back. Not only could I not do this without you, I absolutely wouldn’t want to . . . To Joe Regal and Markus
Hoffman at Regal Literary—thank you for all of your hard work and for helping to make this the best project ever!

To my VH1, Shed Media & BBW’s Family: Shaunie O’Neal, Tami Roman, Suzie Ketchum, Sean Rankine, Angela Castro, Mark Seliga, Stephanie Edmonds—from the bottom of my heart I truly appreciate how you have helped make my life more vivid. Some say you’ve created a monster; I feel you’ve created an aspiring mogul.

To my personal “Team Evelyn”: Nia Crooks, Danika Berry, Martin Almgren, Sheryl Lawrence, and Sandy Lozano—thank you for your endless support and for always helping me stay true to myself.

To my blood-bound Bronx and New York family—my parents, Sylvia Ferrer and Jose Lozada—thank you for giving me life and loving me in spite of myself. To Anthony, Sylvia, Mia, and Nisa Ochoa—you guys will forever be in my heart. I’m thankful that God paired me with such a loving family. We may not be a perfect family, but together, we make a perfect team. I love you guys!

To my “baby-girl” Shaniece—you are the reason I open my eyes every day. Every part of my journey has been for the love, care, and ability to provide for you. I will continue to work hard so that your life can be everything you’ve ever dreamed it could be. I love you with all of my heart, I really do.

Mr. Chad “Pepe” “Ochocinco,” “The Interesting One,” “The Black Guy” Johnson aka Poopie, I honestly don’t know what I would do without you. Never in a million years did I think I’d meet my soul mate on Twitter (the gift and the curse). LOL! This has been one hell of a ride, and I’m so happy we’re on this journey together. I will forever be grateful to God for our union. Thank you, Poopie.

Finally, to my fans! You guys truly make me who I am. I will forever be grateful for your love and support.

Throughout
my fifteen-year career as a writer, I’m always amazed at how emotional I get when I’m nearing the end of a book. It’s kinda like being pregnant and giving birth to a child . . . You’re excited at the beginning, hopeful in the middle, anxious yet prayerful toward the end . . . and scared senseless upon delivery. The only assurance is that you’ve done your absolute best and with God’s perfect grace and guidance, the blessing that lies before you will be both welcomed and loved by all.

My thank-yous are pretty simple because, honestly, those who know me and have helped me along this journey to cocreate and write
The Wives Association: Inner Circle
know that I don’t take their love, trust, encouragement, support, stories, experiences, patience, and most of all, prayers, for granted. You all know who you are! I love and appreciate you so much.

To Vernon Brown, Bryan “Baby” Williams, and Ronald “Slim” Williams—your support of our vision for this book is truly amazing. I don’t know anyone in the game who can do what you do and how you do it! I’m beyond thrilled to be working with you and the entire Cash Money Content team!

To my agents, Joe Regal & Markus Hoffman—WOW! pretty much sums it up. Thank you for seeing me through all of my crazy ideas and for helping me turn each one of them into something amazing. Special thanks to Tracy Christian, Jaimie Roberts, Kenny Meselias, Ed Shapiro, Johnathan Ehrlich, Molly Derse, Marc Gerald, La Shawn Thomas, and my manager/friend Kristel Crews. To my aunt Yolanda McCarty-Taylor: I really couldn’t have finished this book without you. Thank you for every chapter and page that you helped me with. I can’t wait to share center stage with you. To my immediate family—Leonia, Tony, Walter, Camille, and Jay—thank you for always keeping me covered with your love, support, and prayers. To my daughter Caley—everything I am and everything I do is for you. I love you so much, Toot! To the Young Family (Eric, Marlo, Allura,
Erin & Sweets)—thank you for taking such great care of my little one while I’m away.

Lastly, what started as business clearly turned into something very personal, and I am honored to call you my friend, Evelyn. We often joke about becoming our own versions of Oprah and Gayle, and I’m excited to say that I think we’re off to a great start. Thank you for trusting me with the truth of your words and the loyalty of your friendship . . . You are an absolute blessing and definitely a major F’N factor . . . in my life! (LOL)
