“Calm down? I will not calm down! Not when this man is trying to destroy my reputation! You’re crazy if you think I’ll let you get away with this, Ayden! You’re the monster, not me!”

“Calm down, Mrs. King,” the judge demanded.

“I will not calm down! I will fight for my rights!” she yelled.

“I agree with you, Mr. King; she does need to be psychologically evaluated,” the judge said, before deeming Julia King a threat to herself and to society. He sentenced Julia to a maximum-security psychiatric institution in upstate New York for further evaluation.

Julian had decided to spend a few days with Heaven until her health improved. Now she was feeling better, and he knew it was time to get started on security. Even though Sybille’s guards were currently patrolling the grounds, and his family had fixed the immediate problems—there was still a lot of work to be done.

“I need to get some work done, but I can’t leave her,” Julian spoke to Royce over the phone.

“What about walkie-talkies?” Royce suggested.

“That’s a good idea. I like the concept of the walkie-talkies, but I need a little more than just hearing her voice.”

“Cell phones. You can get the new cell phone walkie-talkie app. It has an intercom and a camera. I know where to get the phones; I’ll pick them up on my way. I won’t be long.”

“Perfect, come to my room when you get here.” It seemed like a solution to his problem. He needed to stay far away from Heaven during the day. At least until he got his work done and she was healed. While at the same time, he needed to monitor her closely.

Heaven stretched and smiled, “Good morning.”

“Good morning to you. How do you feel?” he asked as he grabbed her fluffy red robe.

She took a deep breath. “I feel excellent. I’m ready to get back to the world.”

“Royce is on his way over,” he handed her the robe, “put this on.”

She had no more than put on the robe when there was a knock at the door. Julian waited until she was completely covered before he opened it.

“I got your remedy right here, cousin,” Royce chuckled, then gained his composure when he saw Sevigne. “Hello Sevigne, how are you?”

“Hello Royce; I’m doing much better, thank you,” Heaven replied.

“I’m glad to hear that.” He turned to Julian and handed him the phones. “I made the saleswoman show me how to work them. I also had her link the two phones.”

“Here,” Julian handed one of the phones to Heaven.

“What’s it for?” Heaven asked.

“These phones will allow the two of you to keep in constant contact.” Royce began, “There’s the intercom. All you have to do is press this button right here, and you’ll go straight to Julian. And vice versa, of course. When you connect, press this button here, and you’ll be able to see each other as you talk.”

“Great features, but what’s it for?’ Heaven asked again, this time looking at Julian.

“I have a lot of work to do to secure this place, and I don’t want you leaving this room. I want you locked in here, safe,” Julian explained.

“But I’m safe if I’m with you,” she reminded him.

“I want you to stay in this room.”

“No.”

“It’s either this, or I take you away to a secluded area until Gavin is in a maximum-security prison.”

“That’s my cue,” Royce said under his breath as he headed towards the door. He turned back to speak to Julian, “Well, if you have any questions about the phones, feel free to call me.”

“That’s out of the question,” Heaven continued, paying no attention to Royce as he exited the room. She felt safe with Julian, and under no circumstances would she leave. Also, she didn’t want to be too far away from her mother and her aunt.

“Then I want you to stay in this room while I’m gone. I mean it.”

“You’re lucky I’m under the threat of death from a psychotic ex-employee, or I wouldn’t be so compliant.” She didn’t mind putting her safety in his hands. She also didn’t mind following his orders, because she knew they were instilled to keep her safe. Despite her enforced understanding and patience, she was beginning to feel a hint of frustration.

“You’re never compliant” he agreed and kissed the top of her head, “but I wouldn’t have you any other way.”

“I’ll just come with you; I can help too,” Heaven pleaded, not wanting to leave him.

“No, you’d only distract me, and I really need to focus on security.”

“I wouldn’t distract you.”

“You’re a walking distraction to me; you can’t help it.”

“How? If I’m on my best behavior, you won’t even notice I’m there.”

“I always know when you’re near.
Always
. It has nothing to do with your behavior; it’s all about
you
. You could be silent and still, but I would still want to fuck you on the spot. As much as I want to be inside of you, this is a large house, and I need to make sure you’re safe first.”

“I can wear baggy, unflattering clothes that cover me from my neck to my toes.”

“It won’t work; I know what’s under those clothes.” He shook his head. He had already thought about that. Besides, it wasn’t just about the sex…it was about her. She had a way of drawing him in even when he tried to resist.

“Be reasonable, it will go faster if I help,” she attempted to talk him into it.

“Under non-life threatening circumstances I would love to have you help. I’ll never get any work done if you’re near me. It’s bad enough that I know you’re inside of the house. Every time I look at you, I have a compelling need to drop everything and take you to the nearest room. I’d slam my cock into you before that door shut, and I wouldn’t stop until one of us passed out from exhaustion. I can’t be near you for long periods, baby…I don’t trust myself. Even right now, I want to fuck you more than I want to work, but I have to secure this house.”

“I think you should.” She stepped closer to him.

“You think I should do what?”

“Fuck me,” she said in a tone as normal as one discussing coffee.

“I’ll never stop,” he warned her while he reminded himself.

“We don’t have to stop; we can just keep fucking.” Her words hit him like a hand squeezing his cock.

“When you’re fully healed.” He kissed her on the forehead, not wanting to ignite his lust.

“I told you I feel magnificent.”

“I want you to rest while I go work on this.”

“I don’t want to rest; I’d rather talk to you.”

“We have our whole lives for that. Right now, you need to rest, and I need to finish securing this house.” He kissed her one last time before he turned to walk towards the door. “Keep that phone charged; I’ll be calling you very soon.”

“I’m sure you will,” she whispered under her breath as she watched him leave.

Julian stood before the main breaker in his basement with his cousins, reanalyzing the situation. It scared him beyond measure to know that Gavin had gotten into the house so easily. Julian firmly believed that if he’d done a better job on security, Gavin wouldn’t have got in at all. If he’d spent more time on security instead of trying to have sex, he believed that Gavin might not have gotten his hands on Heaven in the first place. He would make sure that never happened again, he would not let his dick control his life. Under the wrong circumstances—sex equaled trouble.

“Like I said, it’s worse than I originally thought,” Royce informed Julian.

“You’ve gotten a lot done, but there is still much to do,” Julian responded with a look of determination.

“I’m getting all the family together to help,” Julius said to Julian.

There was a large clan of Kings; all big, forbidding men who loved to get their hands dirty. It would make things much easier.

“Heaven’s mother wants to keep her guards at the house until Gavin Grant is in prison,” Royce reminded them.

“That’s a good idea; I appreciate those guards. Each and every one of them,” Julius said, smiling smugly.

“We know you do, Julius. You appreciate all women.” Royce shook his head. Julius’s love of the opposite sex was common knowledge to anyone who met him.

“Every single one of them; I love them all the same. From big to small and short to tall, I thoroughly appreciate them all.” Julius smiled with the swag of Casanova.

“I only want family and people we trust working on security,” Julian said.

“I agree. This is too delicate to put in the hands of someone we don’t trust.” Royce opened the box of new security cameras.

“What about Fritz?” Julius asked Julian.

“He’s busy on an assignment. He won’t be back for a while, but his son will be here soon,” Julian answered.

“With our schedules, we should be able to get everything done in a week, two weeks—tops.” Royce estimated.

“Maybe less. I took the next two weeks off, so I am all yours, cousin,” Julius told Julian.

“Good.”

“I’ll be here whenever I’m not at work. I’ll also be spending the nights in your guest wing,” Royce said.

“Me too,” Julius added.

“Thank you. Gavin’s trial is coming up soon; I’d like to have it completed before then.” Julian was thankful for his family. He wouldn’t feel safe until Gavin was in a maximum-security prison. He knew the jail that he was currently in, and he knew how easy it would be to escape.

“We also have other family members coming in shifts at night. That way you can keep a close eye on your fiancée.”

“I’ll work during the days, but I do need to be near Heaven at night,” Julian informed them.

“How is she handling all of his?” Royce asked with concern.

“She wants me to stay close to her. She’s already getting a little antsy about being restricted to the room. It’s just a matter of time before she starts objecting.”

***

When they finished working for the night, Julian’s cousins camped out in the living room with a bottle of liquor and a few of Sybille’s off-duty guards. Julian immediately went upstairs to Heaven. He didn’t see her when he first entered the room, and instantly panicked.

“Heaven?” he roared, as horrific images of Gavin grabbing Heaven bombarded his mind.

“I’m in the bathroom,” she yelled out to him. He was relieved to hear her voice. He wondered if he would ever stop worrying about her. Once again, he regretted not killing Gavin when he had the chance. As long as Gavin was alive, he was a threat. As long as Gavin lived, Julian couldn’t rest.

Heaven walked out of the bathroom wearing a pair of tiny, black shorts that were small enough to pass for panties. Julian’s eyes went directly to the sheer, black tank top she wore.

“Come here.” He sat on the edge of the bed.

“Are you finished working?” She walked over to him, her hips swaying with each step.

“For tonight; first thing in the morning we’re installing more cameras along the gate. I want to be able to see every angle.” His eyes were focused on her swaying hips.

“I thought that maybe we could go out for breakfast tomorrow,” she suggested with a smile.

“No, I’ll bring you breakfast before I go.”

“No, if we’re not going out, then we are eating
together
before you go,” she demanded.

“That sounds good.” He grinned pulling her to stand between his legs, and laid his head against her breasts.

She ran her hands through his shaggy dark hair. His hair was longer than she’d ever seen it; it went to his collar. He also had stubble on his jaw, and his clothes were unkempt. He looked nothing like the impeccably attired lawyer he normally was.

“If I have to stay locked in this room, the least you could do is stay with me for breakfast. I haven’t seen you
all
day.”

“I’m just trying to keep you safe, Princess,” he whispered against her chest. He knew he had to pull away soon as he already felt his member stirring.

“So hire someone to help with the security.”

“No, I’m only using people that I can trust.”

“You don’t think you’re being overly concerned? The chance of Gavin escaping from jail is slim to none,” she asked, and he pulled back to look at her.

“No. We’re lawyers, Heaven; we know the criminal mind and how it works. Gavin was a lawyer, he knows what we know, but he’s also a criminal which gives him an edge. I’m not taking any chances; I’d rather be overly safe than sorry. I want you to trust me on this.”

“I do trust you.” She kissed the top of his head, and he pulled her closer.

He felt like he was in heaven being so close to her. It felt good to have her arms wrapped around him. He wanted to sink into her and stay like that for the rest of the night. He could feel himself begin to lose his will, and he pulled back.

“What’s wrong?” she asked.

“You need to get some rest.”

“I’m not tired.” She moved an inch closer to him.

“It’s been a long day, and you need to relax.” He shifted back a bit.

“I don’t need to relax anymore; that’s all I’ve been doing.”
