Jaci was fit to burst by the middle of the morning. Her dreams were getting hotter. She couldn’t wait to see Michael and David, but wait she must until her normal routine brought her to their cell, lest she bring suspicion upon herself. The crystal Callie had given her was burning a hole in her pocket. She was eager and at the same time hesitant to perform the next test.

She wanted desperately to know she wasn’t alone, but she also wasn’t sure if she was ready for a mate.

Particularly if that mate was being held prisoner by her superiors and there might never be any way to consummate the bond. Still, she had to know. The uncertainty was driving her nuts.

By the time her tasks took her to the cells she was practically squirming in her shoes. She had so much she wanted to tell her men?her friends?she reminded herself. She was already thinking of them in a most scandalous way, but she couldn’t deny the attraction she felt for both of them.

Never before had she wanted so badly to initiate sexual intimacy with a male. She had performed her duties when assigned to sample collection, but never with the kind of enthusiasm she felt now, driving her temperature higher and her excitement level off the charts. She could answer that with a firm no. She’d had a chance to bed Grady Prime, arguably one of the most handsome, fit and highly respected Alvian males in the city, if not on the entire planet, and she’d not felt anything like this spark of desire. She’d enjoyed servicing Grady Prime, but that was more a physical enjoyment, what she believed she’d gain from Michael and/or David was more of an emotional satisfaction. They made her feel alive with just a smile, and their hugs satisfied something deep within her soul she’d never felt before.

Their kisses were like water to a woman dying of thirst and she could only speculate on what taking either one of them inside her body would feel like—not just physically, but on that emotional plane she was just coming to understand. She wanted them with a soul-deep ache that was beginning to consume every one of her waking moments.

She walked into their cell and went straight for the monitor, trying not to let her eagerness show in the last few moments the monitor would follow her movements. She shut it off and turned to face them and suddenly she wanted nothing more than to be in their arms.

She ran to them and Michael caught her in what felt like mid-air, David closing in behind to cocoon her in their warmth and what felt suspiciously to her untried emotions like love. She sobbed as she sought Michael’s mouth with her own. He kissed her long and hard but he kept his wits about him, pulling back after slaking the very beginnings of her thirst to look down into her dazed eyes.

“We had a long conversation with Harry last night. Where’s the crystal, sweetheart?”

She’d almost forgotten! She fumbled in her pocket for a moment and came up with the crystal on her palm. She thought it might be softly glowing, but she couldn’t be sure through the tears in her eyes.

Michael nodded over her shoulder to David and he moved off, taking the crystal with him. He placed it on the table beside them as he leaned back to watch, and then Michael’s lips were on hers again and she was lost to coherent thought as the Hum increased and her skin felt aflame.

She heard David laughing in the background and moved back to see what he was so happy about when the blinding light of the crystal caught her eye. Michael and she had passed the second test! The crystal was glowing fiercely as she disentangled herself to check it, but the light faded as she let go of Michael.

But David was not deterred. With a deft move he took her hand and swung her into his arms, swooping down to capture her lips with his own while Michael watched. He took a long time, seducing her with his firm mouth, his masculine scent and his strong hands, but she came to her senses before too long and opened her eyes to see the bright light spilling about them.

David had passed the second test too! She smiled up into his eyes as
she
began kissing him. She’d never taken the lead before with any male and she felt powerful and seductive as he groaned and took the kiss deeper. “As we are yours.” David fastened his own clothing as they walked toward her. “Harry filled us in on this resonance mate thing last night, but even without the proof of your people, we knew you were meant to be part of our lives almost from the first time we saw you.”

“We’ve been dreaming with you for more than a year, Jaci, but only since your accident have I been able to enter your dreams and make you remember them.”

“Enter my dreams?” She was shocked as she remembered the dreams that had felt so real and made her so hot.

Michael nodded slowly. “It is one of my gifts. I can dreamwalk. I’ve been in your dreams the past few nights, sweetheart, and I brought Dave with me. What you dreamed, we dreamed as well. It was real. Or at least as real as a dream can be. But the words we spoke were real and the feelings were our feelings.”

“We love you,” David said simply and she felt her heart fill near to bursting.

“I love you too.” She sounded as if she were only just realizing what her emotions meant, but it was true.

“We know,” Michael said with a satisfied smile. “We were only waiting for you to realize it.”

“Better get a move on,”Harry’s voice sounded in the men’s minds,
“they just noticed the monitor was
off.”

Mike and Dave sprang into action, moving her to the monitor and giving her one last kiss before settling across the chamber in poses of boredom.

“Time to go, sweetheart, Harry just warned us that they noticed the monitor’s down again.”

“But I want to say so much more—”

“Tonight,” Mike promised, “we’ll walk in our dreams together. Tell us then.”

With one last anguished look, she turned back and switched on the monitor. Dave hated to see their time together end, but it couldn’t be helped. He watched her bustle around the room doing her routine tasks.

She’d given them both an echo of the pleasure they could experience together but he feared, given their situation, they’d never have a chance to make love fully.

“Something’s gotta give, Mike. We need her and she needs us.”

“I hear you, cousin. We’ll find a way.”

“I may have a solution,”Harry said.

“You listening in on us, kid? You must be one helluva telepath to do that when we were talking privately.”

They could actually feel his shrug in their minds, proving the point

keeping an eye on you guys after I realized the monitor was down.”

Dave said with a certain amount of respect,

that, Harry. Get your own girl.”

No, I figured you’d want some privacy for whatever you three got up to when the monitor went
down. I learned fast to vamoose both physically and mentally when my dad

“Thanks for the warning. We
would’ve been toast if they’d come down to check on her. You saved our asses again, Harry. We

“No problem. But I’ve been talking your problem over with my family. You did the tests right? What’s the verdict?”

“Happy to report that she is mate to both of us. Just as we hoped. Damn kid, that crystal shone like I’ve never seen before. Didn’t know quartz could do that.”Mike’s tone was both awed and full of satisfaction.

“Wait ’til you get inside her.”

“Shit, kid. I thought you said you weren’t watching. How do you know we didn’t do the deed already?”

“Not enough time,”Harry answered a bit smugly.
“The monitors were only down for about fifteen
minutes. I don’t think either of you are that quick on the trigger.”

Male laughter all around was the answer to that little observation.

“Plus, judging by my sister’s experience, the crystals in the city would probably have been affected much more profoundly. As it was, there was a mild surge in power and a glow that I saw because I was looking for it, but I doubt the techs caught it.”Harry added after a short pause,
“Which brings me to the
possible solution to your immediate problem.”
