Evan watched with Victoria by his side, his new crew to his left, his old crew to his right. The shifters were all there.
Joel and Courtenay.
Cole and Trestin.
Darren and Kierra.
Corey and Jenny.
Russell and Gwen.
And at the center of attention, a new father’s hands carefully held a small bundle to his chest.
“Hush,” Garrett said, whispering soft, calming words to his child.
His daughter.
“Gentlemen. Ladies,” he said quietly to the assembled crowd. “I’d like you to meet Daniella Marie Hoffman.”
The first child to be born in the Valley since the battle for its salvation.
Evan felt a tug on his arm. He turned to see Victoria looking up at him, her eyes intense and focused.
When she spoke, her voice was level and full of a confidence he hadn’t expected to hear from her.
“Can we have one?”
He swallowed hard.
