Remy cocked his head and a frown twisted his mouth.

“What’s that?” Jayce said, panting.

“Your lucky day,” Remy said. “It’s the Call. Our Alpha’s been defeated. Another will come t’ his place.”

“Marcus,” Jayce said and laughed. “He did it. You shitheads are in trouble.”

“Seems about time for us to make our exit,” Remy said, then turned to Jayce. “This’s been fun. Let’s not run into each other again, ay?”

“Let’s.” Jayce bared his teeth.

The coyotes changed and scrambled out, nearly leaping over each other to make a swift exit. Jayce tried to get up but fumbled.

“Careful—stay still, you big idiot.” Jayce looked up to see Jenny crouching next to him, with Sadie right behind. Jenny reached for him but he shoved her back firmly. “Scared of a girl?” she said, and then sighed. “Relax. No tricks. I’m just going to heal you.”

Jayce knit his eyebrows skeptically, but she unsheathed a blade from her belt and sliced open her palm, bleeding onto his wounds. Slowly, stingingly, they began to heal. “Terribly sorry for the delay, dear,” Sadie said. “We had to go through a cougar to get here.”

Real Housewives
cougar or feline cougar?” Jayce said, wincing as his skin stretched dryly, stitching itself together.

“Where’s Cami?” Jenny asked urgently.

“It’s over,” Jayce said, big grin stamped over his face. “She did it.”

“Camilla, Keeper of Tyburn,” Sadie mused, her voice singsongy as she looked out into the woods, tears brimming her eyes. “Her mother would be proud.”

Chapter 10

And, at last, peace reigned among all the woodland creatures.

At least, that was how every Disney movie Cami watched always ended. Her truth was a little more complicated. Aldric had left a mess to be cleaned up and it seemed every shifter had something that needed fixing. Not to mention, there was the matter of the hunters.

“The woods are under my protection now,” Cami said a couple days after the fight. She was tucked away in a haphazard trailer, sitting on a bed Jayce had probably loaned. “So.”

“Hm,” Pam replied, her lips pressed in a thin, irritated line.

“So. No shifters get killed or hurt so long as they’re under my protection. Follow my rules or face my wrath, I guess.”

“What about Aldric?” Pam said shortly.

“Banished,” Cami told her. “As decreed by their new Alpha. So I guess that makes hunting season open on him or whatever.”

Pam smiled.

All of the animals, slowly, regained their bearings. The bear clan, however, still suffered. They needed a strong, caring leader. That’s where Marcus came in. Reinstated as Alpha, he immediately set to work repairing the damage to his clan. Cami missed her bookend warmth a few nights in a row, but she knew he was doing important work. Besides, she had Jayce to cuddle, loyal, sweet Jayce. Marcus never stayed away long, however, and would often sneak in in the middle of the night and slip under the covers, waking Cami up with a kiss to her back as he squeezed a third into their bed.

Marcus had been gone nearly a week when he finally trudged through the door (Cami threw herself at him, wrapping all arms and legs around him, and Jayce clasped him on the shoulder and handed him a beer). He looked weary but enlivened, like reclaiming the role of Alpha had given him back the use of a limb he’d left for dead. Cami, meanwhile, decided he owed her for being gone so long.

“You’re going to look
great,”
she reiterated for the fourth time in a row as she snipped a couple inches from his head.

“It’s true,” Jayce added, leaning against the kitchen counter, beer in his hand. “I let her cut my hair all the time.”

“You’re not helping,” Marcus growled. He was sitting in hair. Cami had set them up in the kitchen where they could sweep up the hair easier, and now he just looked fussy, clad in sweatpants and pieces of his hair.

“We’re almost done, you big grump,” Cami said as she walked around the chair to stand in front of him. She dragged a comb through his hair—she’d left it long, just cut off the split ends, added some layers, a little finesse. He looked a little less

and a little more…Marcus. “Relax,” she said. “I’m a professional, remember?”

Cami’s Curls
is really taking off,” Jayce said after he killed his beer and rinsed the bottle out in the sink (

was one of his new pet projects, now that he was fully graduated into the ranks of the Sherriff’s department). “You should stop by sometime.”

Marcus reached out and gave Cami’s braid a tug. “And what do you call
this
?”

Cami grinned. “Oh, this old thing? That’s a number twenty-six,
The Lynn
.”

Marcus almost smiled. “Cute.”

She grabbed the scruff on his chin and said, “Now we just have to do something about
this
.”

“Hmm.” Marcus’s hands cupped her rear, and before she knew it he’d pulled her into his lap. She squeaked with surprise as he looked at her and said, voice rumbling, “And what do you plan to do with my beard?”

She giggled, suddenly a little girl, and tapped her finger to her lips. “Put it right here.”

“Do you think you’ve earned that?”

Cami nodded wildly. With his hand still resting on Cami’s ass, Marcus tilted his head up to look at Jayce. “Has she been a good girl for you?”

Jayce shrugged. “She always is.”

“Good.” It wasn’t in question, not really, because even if she’d been a little terror she knew Marcus had gone too long without her to deny her this. But the threat of being denied made her wet and he knew that; he could smell it, couldn’t he? They both could, the way she throbbed in Marcus’s lap, desperate for her two men. Marcus took the scissors from her, let them drop on the kitchen table and closed his mouth around hers, hard. Cami whined into his mouth as he claimed her with a kiss, tasting sandalwood, morning dew, sweet and tangy blueberries.

Marcus took the hem of her dress in his rough hands and lifted it above her head in a single swoop. He never seemed to like clothes on her anyway. She shifted forward to help get it over her head and felt his erection stiff against her tummy. She was lost back in his kiss when she felt Jayce join in, his hands slipping around her sides, the soft fabric of his shirt on her back. Jayce was a sweet lover with her, giving, generous, a perfect gentleman, but Marcus brought out the Beast in him too and she could feel his teeth grace her shoulder possessively, nipping, sucking, kissing.

She shuddered, every nerve inside of her lighting up under their lips, their fingertips, when she felt cold steel against her thigh. Cami gasped sharply, then giggled when she saw Marcus had her panties caught in his scissors. “I should know better than to wear panties around you, shouldn’t I?” she said.

“Jayce will buy you new ones,” Marcus said as he snipped them off of her. Jayce grunted a laugh—it wasn’t untrue.

Marcus tugged the strips of her panties off of her, baring her completely. Cami bit her bottom lip and whimpered when he pushed his own pants down—just enough—and his hard, bobbing cock sprang free.

“What, doesn’t anyone give their Alpha a little sweet loving?” Cami teased, her fingers just gracing the length of his dick. Her mouth watered; she wanted to suck it, stroke it, ride it, never let it go.

His breath caught—incredibly satisfying—but he released it in a growl. “Only you.” With that, he grabbed her hips, lifted them, and eased her onto his cock.

“Oh God…” Cami gasped loudly. She was used to Jayce, used to the slow, teasing way he worked her up, not Marcus’s brute force, and it made her burn, her cheeks flush.

It was Jayce, however, who murmured in the shell of her ear (his voice a soft, deliberate command where Marcus’s was rugged with lust, even when she could feel Jayce straining his pants behind her), “Give me your hands.”

She did, extending them behind her, and she felt Jayce grab her wrists, pinning them back. She saw him grab a hair tie and then felt it wrap around her wrists, securing them in place. He coaxed her fingers to wrap around his cock, now freed of his pants.
God help me
, she thought,
never underestimate the creativity of horny, insatiable men
. Helpless, leaning back against Jayce, Cami could only rock her hips side to side on Marcus’s, mewling with desperation as her fingers played along Jayce’s length like a flute. Marcus guided her body, gripping her hips and slamming them down on his cock. She gasped as she rode him, her breasts jerking. Her nipples felt tight and straining and Marcus sucked them one by one into his mouth with a growl. Just when she thought it couldn’t get more intense, she felt Jayce reach around her thigh. His hand slid up and curved between her legs, and he found her swollen clit and flicked it under the tip of his finger.

“Oh God.” Cami shuddered, her whole body alive, nerves electric. “Oh God, oh God, oh God…” Her thighs tightened around Marcus’s hips as she rode him, squirming to get closer to Jayce’s hand. She felt their lips on her tits, her throat, her back and neck. Covered in kisses. Her men. They would be the end of her. They were greedy, all-consuming, and she needed it. She needed to be at the center of it, the center of their attentions and affections, more than happy for her little red riding hood to be devoured by the big bad wolf and his wicked bear.

Marcus smelled clean, like the shampoo she’d just run through his hair and his own personal, earthy musk. Jayce smelled like beer and old shoe leather, familiar home smells. With her crushed between her two men, they moved as one. Marcus fucked Cami, Cami rocked on Marcus’s cock and Jayce’s finger, and Jayce thrust into Cami’s hands. She could hear Jayce panting in one ear, Marcus in the other, and they tumbled one by one, like dominos. Cami, overwhelmed, overheated, felt her heart going a mile a minute. Her breath came with short gasps in time with the fluid motion of their bodies and she felt everything inside of her contract. When she came, it was with Marcus’s fingers in her hair and a whimper, a sharp release followed by heavy, drumming pulses. She heard Marcus growl underneath her; she felt Jayce spill over wet and warm into her hands.

A moan, a whimper, a growl. A shuddering exhale. They caught their breath, Marcus’s heart thrumming against her chest, Jayce’s against her back. At the end of the day, this was what she wanted. To be caught between these two powerful hearts. She felt Jayce start to pull back but she burnt though her hair tie in a second and grabbed his slim waist, keeping him right against her. It’d been too long. She needed the three of them together just a moment longer.

“I should stay away more often,” Marcus mused.

Cami laughed. “I’d like to see you try.”

Marcus caught her by the chin and pressed a strong, hard kiss to her mouth. Her mate. Her wild man, her Beast. No sooner had he sealed the kiss than Jayce took her chin and tilted her head, kissing her softly over her shoulder. Her love. Her best friend, her protector.

“Never change, Coltrane,” Jayce murmured behind her.

“Keeper of Tyburn,” Marcus added.

“Cami,” Cami sighed against them. “Just Cami.”
