“I missed you today, darlin’. Did you find a dress?”

Breathing heavily, he slipped his cock, still partially erect, from her weeping pussy and leaned his body into hers, his hand covering her clenching fists against the wall. As her fingers unclenched under his, he nuzzled against the back and side of her neck, whispering words of love in her ear. They stood there for several minutes until the water started to cool off. Giving her a kiss on the cheek, Ryan leaned his body away from hers and he shut off the water.

“Yes,” she gasped. “I found the perfect dress. The girls think you’re going to like it, too.”

“I’m sure I’ll enjoy taking it off you even more, darlin’. You’d look beautiful in a feed sack.”

Opening the shower door, he gently led her out onto the bath mat, grabbed a fresh towel, and leisurely dried off her delectable body, wrapping the towel around her when he was finished. Wrapping a second towel around her hair, he led her silently to her vanity and pushed her gently onto the stool. Finding a comb, he combed out her beautiful, blonde hair and dried it with her hair dryer. Their eyes met in the vanity mirror and she smiled at him, letting him know how much she enjoyed his attention.

By the time her hair was dry, his erection tented the towel around his hips. Smiling sweetly up at him she took his hand in hers and led him silently into the bedroom where they made love once again.

Chapter 17

It was December twenty-third and tomorrow was Samantha’s and Ryan’s wedding day. As they finished up with the rehearsal dinner, the couple prepared to go their separate ways until they saw each other at the wedding tomorrow. This was the first time in months that they would sleep apart.

Sleeping apart hadn’t been their idea. It was Cassie Chisholm’s. Cassie insisted, just as she had with Jordan and Taylor, that the bride spend the night at the big house so that the women of the family could give her a bridal shower while the men went out for a bachelor party. Although Samantha commiserated with Ryan about the night apart, she was secretly glad that Cassie had insisted on sticking to tradition. Ryan wouldn’t see Samantha again until she was walking down the aisle to him at the wedding ceremony.

Ryan, on the other hand, was taking the separation badly, acting like a bear with a sore paw as the women and men prepared to separate for the rest of the evening. He held her tightly to him as everyone prepared to leave Michael’s, where the rehearsal dinner had been held. Ryan had put his foot down with Ryder about hiring a stripper for the bachelor party or going to a strip club, so the men were going to spend the evening at Chaps & Spurs playing some pool and having a few drinks. Ryder, taking his best man duties seriously, was doing his best to give his brother and best friend the send-off he thought he deserved.

In the parking lot, Ryan pulled Samantha into his arms as she got ready to get into the car with Cassie, Jessie, Taylor, and Jordan. The rest of the women were following in a couple of other vehicles. As he put his arms around her waist, he bent his head and took her mouth in a kiss designed to whet her appetite. “Remind me why we aren’t sleeping together tonight,” he murmured against her lips.

Wrapping her arms around his neck, Samantha threw herself wholeheartedly into the kiss, feeling her nipples harden against her blouse and bra, even while her pussy began to melt from the heat of his kiss. Feeling his cock growing against her stomach, she gave a small whimper as she attempted to get her raging hormones under control. “You know why, Ryan Chisholm. Be good,” she whispered back against his lips before he took her mouth in a deeper kiss.

Catcalls and whistles broke through the sensual haze that surrounded them and they slowly broke apart. Samantha found herself blushing as Ryan bent back in and gave her a quick, hard kiss before helping her into the backseat of Jessie’s red Escalade. She kept her eyes on him until Jessie drove the SUV out of the parking lot and headed out to the Ranch.

Once all the girls got to the big house, Cassie revealed that they were having a lingerie shower for Samantha. It was another tradition. Both Taylor and Jordan had been given lingerie showers and had enjoyed them immensely. Jessie and Jordan took charge of the drinks. While she sipped on her water with lemon, Jordan manned the bar. Beer and wine were available along with sangria, margaritas, and mojitos. Samantha decided to try something new and asked for a mojito.

After everyone was settled in with the drink of their choice, the presents came out. Everyone oohed and aahed over the silky and filmy confections that were in the gaily wrapped presents Samantha opened. Samantha loved pretty panties and had many pairs already, but she probably never would have bought herself a pair of black, crotchless panties, the slinky, ivory teddy with matching thong, or the red bustier she got from her future sisters-in-law. By the time all of the presents had been opened, it was after 11:00 p.m. and most of the women were at least a little tipsy. Thankfully, nobody had to drive as they were all sleeping at the big house.

Ryan enjoyed the company of his dad, brothers, uncles, and assorted cousins, as well as several friends, as they played pool and drank beer. Xander was acting as Ryan’s designated driver, so he limited himself to two beers and drank ice water for the rest of the night. Each of the vehicles the men had brought to the club had a designated driver assigned to it, so there was no worry about anybody getting too drunk to drive. Around midnight, the older men in the group decided to head home for the night, leaving the young ones to their fun.

Ryan had several beers and let himself enjoy the somewhat ribald jokes and discussions that were going on around the pool tables where the men were playing. He was glad he had put the brakes on Ryder about hiring a stripper. When he and Ryder had planned Xander’s bachelor party they had been gravely disappointed that he wouldn’t let them hire a stripper to come into the club and dance for them. Now, being in the same position as Xander had been, he understood his oldest brother’s reaction. Although he knew Samantha wouldn’t have been threatened by a stripper being at the party, he would have felt uncomfortable watching any other woman but Samantha stripping off her clothes in front of him. The only woman he wanted a strip tease from was Samantha.

“You’re pussy whipped, bro,” said his twin, and Eli nodded his head in agreement.

“No, assholes. He’s in love. There’s a difference,” Xander said, sticking up for his younger brother as Ryan flipped them the bird.

“Yeah, guys. He’s found ‘the one.’ You’re just worried that you’re next. Hell, Dillon’s already done for, and he hasn’t even gone out on a date with his lady,” Levi said with a grin.

“What the hell? How did I get into this conversation?” exclaimed Dillon.

“Tweedledee and Tweedledum think you’re pussy whipped like the rest of us. Does she even have a clue you’re interested in her other than in a professional way?” asked Ryan curiously. He worried that his brother was having such strong feelings for a woman who didn’t even know he was interested in her romantically. What if Abby didn’t return Dillon’s feelings? He could see a whole lot of heartache in his brother’s future if things didn’t work out the way he wanted

“No, and that’s how it has to be for now. There’s hellacious chemistry between us, though. I know she can feel that even if neither of us can act on it right now. Seven more months. God, I’m becoming way more familiar with my hand than I ever wanted to be.”

“Maybe you should find a woman you can date right now and fuck her. You know, take the edge off,” suggested Eli as his brothers looked at him incredulously.

“What the hell?” he exclaimed as Dillon moved in on him menacingly. “What’s your problem? It’s not like you’d be cheating. She doesn’t even know you’re interested in her. You don’t have to live like a monk if you don’t want to. She can’t blame you for being with someone before you even got together.”

“You have an interesting way of looking at love, little brother. All that free pussy on the circuit must be going to your head. I’m in love with Abby. She’s going to be your sister-in-law someday. I’m not going to fuck some anonymous woman just because I have to wait a while for the woman I love. Shit. I have a little more restraint than that.”

Ryan could tell Dillon was royally pissed off at their baby brother. Ryan wasn’t so much pissed as he was worried. He’d been hearing some things about Eli’s behavior on the circuit from some of his old friends who were still on it. Seems little brother was a little more interested in riding the buckle bunnies than the bulls. He knew what the kind of attention Eli was getting on the circuit could do to a man and his ability to stay on his ride for eight seconds. He needed to sit his little brother’s ass down and have a frank conversation with him, but his wedding was tomorrow, so it would have to wait for now.

“Cool down, Dillon. I’m sure Eli meant no disrespect. He’s young and he’s never been in love. Cut him some slack. Hey, why don’t you buy me a beer?” Ryan slapped Dillon on the back, trying to break the tension around them. The argument had garnered the attention of the rest of the Chisholm brothers who were watching the byplay curiously.

“Yeah. I need another beer, too. I’ll be back.” Dillon turned his back on Eli and stalked to the bar.

Most of the men called it quits around 1:30 a.m., not too long before the bar closed. Xander drove Ryan, Dillon, and Ryder back to the Ranch and dropped each one off at his own home. Eli had left with some woman around 1:00 a.m., telling Xander he wouldn’t need a ride home. Ryan knew they wouldn’t see him again until the ceremony. Feeling a pleasant high when he got home, he took a shower before crawling into bed alone. He missed Samantha’s soft, warm body lying next to him and slept fitfully.

Samantha woke up slowly in the strange bed. She hadn’t slept very well last night. She’d missed Ryan’s hard, warm body entwined with hers. Reaching for her cell phone on the night stand, she looked at the time. It was 9:00 a.m. already! The other women must think she was going to sleep all day. She could hear the soft murmuring of voices in the house and lay in the bed quietly as she thought to herself.

Today was her wedding day. In less than nine hours, she would be Mrs. Ryan Chisholm. She wondered what Ryan was doing right now. The cell phone on the night stand began to chirp and she smiled to herself, recognizing Ryan’s ringtone. Grabbing the phone and pushing the button, she answered the phone, “Hello, handsome. What are you doing right now?”

“I just got done in the shower, darlin’. I missed you so much I had to take matters into my own hand this morning. This sleeping apart idea sucks. Remind me who thought of it again?” He was clearly grumpy and not afraid to show it.

“Sorry I couldn’t be there, handsome. I would have taken care of that little problem for you. And you know whose idea it was. It was your mother’s. Don’t be cranky. She means well.”

“Little?”
Figures he’d pick up on that comment.

“Oh, Ryan. You
are
in a bad mood this morning, aren’t you? Stay out too late last night? Hung over? What’s the problem?”

“You weren’t in my arms last night or this morning when I woke up. That’s the problem, darlin’. I miss you. What are you doing right now?”

“I just woke up. I didn’t sleep very well without you either. I need to get up and take a shower then I have an appointment in town to get my hair and nails done.”

“Make sure you eat something for breakfast and lunch. You’re going to need your strength tonight.”

“Did you have a nice time last night at the club?” She decided a change of subject was in order to avoid getting as hot and bothered as he had obviously been earlier.

“It was all right. We played pool and drank beer. Heard a lot of dirty jokes. Talked about women.”

“I’m glad to hear you had such a good male-bonding experience.” She laughed at hearing the slight whine in his voice.

“Yeah. Well, I suppose I should let you go so you can get to your appointment. I have to go and pick up the tuxes in a little while.”

“Okay, handsome. Get some coffee and breakfast. Maybe it will improve your mood. You’d better be in a better mood when I start walking down that aisle.”

“Darlin’, my mood will vastly improve once I see your beautiful face.”

“Ah, aren’t you sweet? I love you, handsome. I’ll talk to you later.” She pushed the disconnect button, ending the call. Giggling to herself at his bad mood and the reasons for it, she got out of bed, grabbed some clothes, and headed into the adjoining bathroom.

After two cups of coffee and some eggs, bacon, and toast that Cassie had warming in the oven, Samantha, Jordan, Jessie, and Taylor headed into town for their hair appointments. When the girls got back around 1:00 p.m., a buffet-style meal of cold meats and cheeses was spread out on the island and everyone ate.

About three o’clock in the afternoon, Cassie shooed Samantha, Jordan, Taylor, and Jessie into the master suite along with their dresses, makeup, and other things they would need to get ready for the ceremony. Cassie was already dressed in a lovely green dress that fit in perfectly with the holiday colors Samantha and Ryan had chosen for the wedding. She was now running interference for when the men showed up at the big house to get ready.

The photographer was milling around taking candid shots as the girls got ready. Her husband and partner was handling the two bedrooms the men would use to get dressed in down the hall. The wedding pictures would be taken in three groups. Samantha and her entourage would go first and get those for which Ryan wasn’t needed before the ceremony. Once the women were done, the pictures of just the men would be taken. All pictures requiring the bride and groom together would be taken immediately following the ceremony.
