As I laid in bed next to my sleeping son I let the tears I had been holding back fall. It was over. I had my son back and he was safe. He was alive and he was home. And for the first time in a long time I could breathe again. There was still things that needed to be done but I wouldn’t stop until I knew he was as safe as possible in this moment. I pressed a light kiss to his forehead as I heard a knock at the door. I slid out of the bed careful not to wake him.

I opened the door to Nitro and the prospect that I had seen bartending the last week. He never said much, was always quietly doing what was asked of him. I never gave him a second thought until now as he stood next to Nitro.

“They found her.” As soon as he said the words a smile spread across my face. Finally it was time to ensure my son’s safety within the club. She was going to die at my hands and I would watch the blood drain from her body as I made sure she died a slow and painful death.

“Where is she?”

“They are bringing her in now.”

“Let me get dressed and is Cheyenne around so she can watch Zaiden?”

“No, I’m going to have the prospect here stand guard.”

“I’m sorry but I don’t know him and personally I would rather have someone I trust watch over him.”

“Trix, don’t argue with me on this one. I trust him and I wouldn’t trust just anyone to watch over my grandson.”

“Fine.” I looked over at the prospect and took a good look at him, and then at Nitro. Same hooded eyes. “I don’t have the energy to get into this right now but I have a feeling there is something you two need to tell me. That can wait, I have a cunt or two I need to kill.” I walked back into the room and dug through my clothes pulling out a pair of black jeans and a red tank top and changed before slipping into my black boots. My tools of the trade were still downstairs waiting for me to put to use.

I walked back out the door after pressing another kiss to my son’s forehead. Nitro and the prospect were still standing outside waiting for me.
”Let’s get this shit finished.” I shut the door behind me and stared straight at the prospect. “If you let anything, and I mean anything, happen to my son while guarding him I will cut your dick off and feed it to you. Do you understand?”

He nodded. Not once have I heard him speak one word. As weird as I thought it was I let it go. I had more important things to take care of.

I walked out to the bar and slid behind it and pulled a beer out of the cooler as I waited for them to arrive. It didn’t take long before I heard the door open. I watched as Nix, Venom, and Red walked in with Zoe and the baby. Zoelle didn’t look at me, she just stared at the floor as they ushered her in. When Nix was trying to hand off his daughter to Cheyenne, Zoe finally spoke. “Just let me hold her, please, just for a little bit.”

Nix nodded as Zoelle picked her daughter up out of her infant carrier and hugged her tight to her body. I didn’t shed a single fucking tear for her knowing that this was the last time she would hold her daughter. She did this herself, she knew what would happen if she got caught and she did it anyways. She knew the fate that awaited her. And I couldn’t wait to introduce her to it.

When Nix took Calissta out of Zoelle’s arms her calm demeanor fell. “No, don’t. Please don’t do this Nix. I’m sorry, I promise I won’t do anything like this again. Please don’t do this.”

I couldn’t help but laugh as Venom and Nix dragged her through the club to the basement. I followed as I laughed to myself. This was going to be fun.

Maybe it was wrong of me to think so, but I didn't care. Any remorse I would have had was gone the moment they spoke her name. Naming her the mastermind behind the kidnapping of my son.

A part of me wanted to believe the bullshit Zoelle was spewing. A part of me wanted all of this to be a misunderstanding. The way she was acting though proved that she was indeed guilty.

"Hold her still," I told Venom as I waited for Trix to make her way into the room. "Wake up our friend, Red."

He nodded and went to the sink and filled a bucket of water before tossing it on Theresa causing her to spit and gasp.

"Hey Theresa. Remember me?" Trix stood in front of her. Her hands on her hips as Theresa stared at her.

"I'll make this quick." She laughed as she pulled a small knife from her back pocket. She turned to Zoelle and smiled as she slammed the knife down into Theresa’s thigh. "Zoelle, your friend here tells me you made her keep my son, and that it was you who put the plan together to take him. Have anything you want to say to your friend while you still can?" Trix smiled as I watched her.

"Zoe do something," Theresa screamed in pain as she pulled the knife from her thigh.

"Yeah Zoe do something," she mocked her. "Sorry Theresa but Zoe is only here to watch." Trix beamed as she once again brought the knife down into Theresa’s other thigh.  I glanced over at Zoe who was struggling in Venom’s tight grip.

I pulled my trusty 45 out of the back of my jeans. "Step away Trix." I walked over to where Trix and Theresa were, then turned back to Zoe. "Have anything you want to admit to Theresa before you trade places with your friend here."

"Fuck you Nix, all you had to do was take your son from her and kick her to the curb. And everything would have been fine. But no, you keep running to her. What is it Nix? Why her? Why did she have to ruin us?"

"She didn't ruin anything Zoelle. You did. It was always Trix. I made a mistake marrying you while I was trying to forget her. But what you did is going to cost you your life." I walked over to where Zoelle was and pulled her from Venom’s grip. She stumbled and landed on her hands and knees.

"We could have made it work. It's not too late," she cried as she turned to look up at me. I didn't hesitate. I lifter my arm and pulled the trigger shooting her right between the eyes before walking over to Theresa and putting a bullet in her head. Everyone stood there staring at me as I looked around the room. Trix was furious. She was glaring at me with her knife tightly gripped in her hand.

"What the fucking shit, you bastard."

"He's my son too. And as much as I like seeing you work, in the end she was my wife and I get to choose how she dies."

She turned and walked out of the room. Leaving the mess for us to clean up.

"Clean this shit up. Venom, help me with the bodies. I need their deaths to be seen. Get Zoelle's car and make sure it looks like an accident. Burn the car." He nodded as I turned to leave the room. It was time to face Trix.

I found her in her room packing her and Zaiden’s stuff. "Going somewhere?"

"Yeah I'm going home."

"Need help?"

"Not from you. Leave me the fuck alone. I don't want to see or talk to you until I fucking decide I want to see your fucking face again. And right now I don't even want to hear your voice." She continued shoving stuff in her bag. "Don't worry, I'm not leaving town so no need to keep a tail on me."

"There will always be a tail on you Trix. Don't matter where you are. I will keep you and Zaiden safe."

"Well so far you have done a real shitty job at that."

I deserved that. I hadn't been able to keep her or our son safe. But this time I knew better then to take chances.

Chapter Thirty One

Days ticked by as I stayed to myself trying to figure out what my next move would be. Every day that passed I slowly came out of the cloud I was living in. It was just Zaiden and I. There was no depending on anyone else. This was my life and I wasn't going to depend on anyone else. Everyone else had their own things to deal with. Nitro had Cheyenne and I

know he wanted to talk to me. But I didn't want to hear it right now. I don't know what it is but I know he and Cheyenne are more than just fuck buddies. I can't say I blame him. He was dealt a shitty hand and made the best of it. I know he wanted us to have more of a father-daughter relationship. I wasn't willing to give that to him. The only father figures I had in my life used me, abused me, and left me. Edge, who had once saved me, used me as if I was nothing more than a pawn in his game. A game I almost lost.

Looking back on my life for the past few years I think about everybody who played a part in it. Nix, who was always there, always by my side, had turned into someone I almost don't recognize. When I left we lost each other. I held onto that thin fraying thread that was falling apart as tight as I could hoping the thread would hold. Cass who died trying to save me. I owe it to her to keep breathing. Keep living each and every day. Disco who hardened me. Brought out the darkness in me that I didn't even know I had. Turned me from fun loving Trix into a haunted, scorned woman. Edge who saved my life and at the same time almost ended it. I haven't spoken to him since I came back. I need to visit him and forgive him. He was only doing what he had to do to save his club. I couldn't blame him for anything anymore. Knowing I would have done the same thing had I been in his position. Venom, who at one time I thought a friend now had nothing but venom in his eyes when he looked at me and I couldn't blame him. I hurt his friend and in turn hurt the club. He didn't trust me anymore but I was hoping to regain that trust. And then we had Payne. I hadn't known him long but I did know I'm not the woman for him. He's too good for me. He doesn't get the darkness I live in. He may be a part of the club but he doesn't get me. Not the way I need someone to. Only Nix does that.

I stared at my son who is playing with his toys in the floor. He turned one a few days ago and I hadn't told anyone. It was just me and him. We didn't do anything special. Today though I needed to do what I had been putting off. Everyone had given me space but today was the day I walked back into the clubhouse. I changed out of my yoga pants and slid on a pair of skinny jeans, slipped my feet into a pair of black leather boots and dressed Zaiden in jeans and a t-shirt. I took a deep breath and walked out to my car. I strapped him into his car seat and got into the passenger seat. No more hiding.

"Listen Serena, I need you to do this. Help me out. I can't do this alone. I don't have it in me."

She stared back at me with anger in her eyes. I knew she was going to fight me on this but I knew she would do it. Before she could answer me someone knocked on the door.

"What."

The door opened. Venom. "She's here."
She.
As in Trix. I knew it by the look in his eyes and the fact that they were not supposed to interrupt me for anything other than if she showed up.

"Fuck."

"Who's here?" Serena looked at me.

"Trix."

"Well, since I am just now hearing about her why don't you introduce me. It's about time you stop hiding your life behind this club and introduce them to your actual family, don't you think?"

"Come on. Hopefully she has your nephew with her."

"Another child. Really Seanix why am I, your freaking sister, just now hearing about your children?" She stood up. I could tell she was pissed.
