"So what do you think man?" Tyson asked Jevon. They were sitting at the bar having drinks at The Drill, a local popular sports bar,when Tyson told him about Nakita's family coming to town.

" Damn Tyson, they're gonna be here tomorrow? What the fuck are they running out of town so goddamn quick for? You sure you don't need me to run a check on they ass? I'll do it just say the word!" Jevon said taking a drink of his Hennessy.

" Nah man!" Tyson said laughing.

" Are you sure? You know Kita's ass is straight hood. Ghetto fabulous even!" Jevon said looking at Tyson sideways. " Man Nakita is not ghetto." Tyson said shaking his head. " Nakita just says what's on her mind!"

" Whatever man! Kitas ass straight ghetto! Pork rinds and red kool-aid. The only one that don't see that shit is you. You've been with her ass what almost two years? It's something about her ass...I don't know about her." Jevon said shaking his head." I don't know Tyson,I'm your boy I just think you can do better."

done nothing to you. I don't even know why you feel that way about her after all this time. Nakita is good to me man. I'm happy with her or I wouldn't be with her." Tyson said.

" God I hope this two weeks goes by fast." Nakita mumbled to herself. " Nakita stop. Now you starting to piss me off with your whole damn attitude." Tyson said looking at Nakita like she'd lost her mind. They were at the Greyhound bus station waiting on her mother and sister to arrive.

" Now look. What's done is done. They're here now. So a negative attitude about the whole situation about them being here aint accomplishing anything. Whether they bought tickets or not Nakita, if you

didn't want to be bothered you should have just told them."Tyson said looking at her like she was losing her mind." You aint gonna let them come here saying you're going to help and treat them like shit when they get here. So you may as well cut that mess out."

" Tyson why are you yelling at me?" Nakita said tears welling up in her eyes." You don't have any idea what they're like!

"Kita baby is this Tyson who I've been talking to on the phone all this time?" she said looking back and forth between Nakita and Tyson. " I mean what is he? Mexican ? Nahh Mexicans aint walking around with those bright ass green eyes...are they? Lawd have mercy ! My Kita down here in Texas laid up with a white man! Son in law you can call me Angela- since we practically family!"

Tyson stood there stunned for half a second but recovered quickly because he could feel three sets of eyes on him." It's nice to meet you Ms. Angela, I'm glad y'all made it here OK. I've been looking forward to meeting you for awhile now." Tyson said looking at Nakita's mother and sister " Nice to meet you too Shantina." Tyson said smiling. Nakita's sister Shantina looked exactly like Nakita in the face but wore her hair in a short relaxed style and had a darker complexion. " I'm going to go and bring the car around and y'all can get the luggage together. I'll be right back." Tyson said walking towards to exit.

Nakita turned to her mother and sister with a scowl on her face." Now what are you two doing here all of a sudden! I know something went down the way y'all ran out of Newport News!" Nakita said suddenly breaking into a wide grin." I can't believe I'm even saying this... but it

"We missed you too!" the three women said embracing each other." Mama you already know you getting out of that wig! It's out of order and Shantina should have already let you know that!" Nakita said rolling her eyes at her younger sister.

" Oh no heffa you need to tell us what you been doing over here in San Antonio, laid up with that fine ass white man! Hell I thought his ass was black every time I talked to him on the phone!DAMN HE'S FIONE!" Shantina practically screamed.

" Baby the man does look good! Look at those dimples. Y'all gonna give me some pretty grandbabies! Did he put a ring on it yet Kita?" Angela asked growing serious all of a sudden and looking down at Nakita's hand.

" No Mama. I think it's headed that way though Mama, we're really in love."Nakita said.

Lies - Month 2

"I need you tonight Nakita."

"Tyson why are you acting like this? You were the one saying that I should show them around. I'm really just hanging out with my sister until she meets some friends of her own." Nakita answered with an attitude.

" Nakita don't come at me like that. Hanging out with your sister doesn't mean going out every single night. All I'm saying is I need some time too. I shouldn't have beg you for it either. I can't even believe you're making me ask." Tyson said walking out of the bedroom.

Nakita sat on the bed and and grabbed her cell to call her sister." Hey Shantina,I can't go tonight."

" What do you mean you can't go! I've been looking forward to this all day Kita."

"Well I know you have but I need to be with my man tonight." Nakita said.

" I know Tyson aint over there talking shit !Why doesn't he just come with us instead of trying to keep you on lock down? Hell doesn't he have any friends he could introduce me to? I mean what kinda slave shit he got you on...just because he

you to stay in tonight doesn't mean you have to!"

"Shantina ,Tyson is not trying to keep me on lock down. We just need to spend some time together is all. I've spent the last six weeks helping you and mom get settled in. Tyson and I haven't spent any quality time together." Kita said.

" Well I've been meaning to tell you this...you've changed."

" Shantina of course I've changed...I needed to!"

" Ummhmm. Well getting bougie should not have been part of the game plan. You and Tyson sitting over there in that big ass condo and put us over here on the Eastside. Don't think it took me long to figure out from a few people at that salon I went to that there's a big difference between where you put us and where you're living!" Shantina said with an attitude.

happening Nakita thought to herself walking into the kitchen to call Tyson's cell phone.

"Tyson you just left without saying anything?"

" Look you already had your mind made up you wanted to be with your sister tonight. I'm not tripping about it. Be safe and have fun." Tyson said trying not to let his voice show just how disappointed he was about her behavior lately.

" Baby I'm not going anywhere. Please come home. I know you're upset with me. Let's talk about this OK? I know I've been hanging out a little too much lately...."

" A little bit Kita ? That's what you think I'm upset with you about ? A little hanging out? Nakita you're sitting your ass in a club four or five nights a week! For the last month. Do you even realize that? Any woman spending that much time in a damn club is out there looking for something...are you out there looking for something Nakita? Is there something you need to tell me?" Tyson said angrily.

" Tyson no! What are you saying? Why would you ever even think something like that!" Nakita said frantic. " Tyson please,please come home. We need to talk about this."
