Chapter 21: Pandora

Eight months later...

In the months that followed Tonya’s attack, everything shifted. There was a lengthy police investigation. The rogue group of ex-Twisted Bastards waged war on their old MC, losing epically. Dorian and Jasper had managed to find trust and, shockingly enough, they were now allies with Lucifer’s Fury.

While I missed the celebration of the merging of the MCs, I did finally get my new Lucifer’s Fury vest. This wild outlaw life was something that had always lived inside of me. I was born into it, embraced it like nothing else. But now I had so much more to live for.

The birth of our son, Leif Braden Stone, changed me, changed Jasper, too. I finally got that house I swore we needed so that our child would have a balanced and safe life.

My heart was full.

My life has meaning.

I has everything I needed.

“Lola, you ready to head to the clubhouse? We’re going to be late for our own wedding.” Jasper grabbed the diaper bag and hoisted the strap over his shoulder with a smile.

“Yep. So ready,” I replied as I settled my beautiful baby boy in my arms. He was perfect in every way. So perfect. “He’s going to break hearts all over this town, you know.”

“I wouldn’t expect anything less from my boy.”

Jasper backed out of the driveway and headed for the clubhouse. We pulled into the clubhouse and the lot was filled with motorcycles and a few othervehicles. People were everywhere.

“Is that Dorian?” I asked, pointing.

“It is. And the rest of his crew is here, too.”

“It’s strange after everything having them around. But they’re nice.”

“He’s really turned that club around. I wasn’t sure he could do it, but he managed. He’s made great strides at repairing the damage done to other clubs too.”

I hopped out of the car and got to work unloading Leif from the back. He was wide-eyed and dressed in his tiny Lucifer’s Fury vest. Below his name patch was another patch that read future President. It was so darn cute.

Like father like son.

We barely made it two steps inside the clubhouse before we were surrounded from all sides. My girls, the old ladies, and even the dang sweet butts were eager to show Leif some love.

I looked up and saw Suicide pushing his way through the crowd of women as they cooed about how adorable my son is. “Back up and let me through,” he grumbled. “May I hold the little prince?”

“Sure.” I handed over the baby and couldn’t help but smile. Seeing these big men holding such a tiny baby was just shockingly cute. I turned and faced my girls. “Do you have everything I asked for?”

Siren and Cherry Pie nodded, pulling me down the hallway towards the room they were sharing here at the clubhouse. We rushed to the rear of the clubhouse where all the private rooms were located. Cherry Pie flung the door open and Siren pushed me in.

The dress I had ordered was hanging on the back of the closet door. It was almost floor-length, and solid white with thin spaghetti straps that crisscrossed in the back. It was longer than the summer dresses I wore all those years ago, but perfect for today. Jasper always loved those dresses I use to wear, so I thought I’d surprise him by wearing something similar.

“It’s perfect, you guys. Just perfect.” I let my hand roam across the soft and airy material.

“Come on and get dressed,” Siren urged as she waved at the dress. “You guys are already running late.”

“Yeah, you’ve waited for this day for over ten years now. It’s well past time. So get moving,” Cherry Pie said between giggles.

I undressed as Siren took the dress off the hanger. Then I slipped it on. It hugged my breasts like a glove. I looked like I was ready for a day at the beach or something.

“This is the first dress I’ve put on since that day at the courthouse. And this dress... it’s so much better. And at least today I’m not alone.”

“We’ll always be here for you,” Cherry Pie said, giving me a hug that damn near strangled me.

“Yeah, what she said. You’re like our sister and all that sappy stuff,” Siren said. “We love you.” She quickly wiped away her tears.

“Let’s do this,” I said as I finished slipping on my leather riding boots. It may have seemed strange but high heels just didn’t seem right. So I went with comfort.

The wedding was to be a small affair with close friends, mainly members of the MC and some of our allies. It was much bigger than I originally thought it would be but other than that, we wanted it simple.

As I walked into the main room, the lights were dimmed. There was an altar at the far end of the room covered in thin white fabric. White lights had been strung up behind the fabric, reminding me of that night at the lake, the way the fireflies danced in the darkness of night as Jasper proposed.

There was no cheesy wedding music, just Jasper standing at the end of the makeshift aisle. My eyes were on him and his on mine, the rest of the room and the world just falling away.

Suicide was standing with Jasper, each wearing the usual denim jeans, tight white t-shirts, and their cuts. As I came to a stop beside Jasper, he took my hand and we stepped into the future together, whatever it may bring.

And that’s how love is.

It’s trusting with everything you have.

It’s giving yourself fully to another person.

It’s placing your heart in the hands of the one person you can’t live without.

Most importantly, it’s putting down roots and creating a family. For me, that’s always been Jasper Stone. And for him, it’s always been me.

Together, we’ll walk through the fires of hell... together.
