Quinn looked at the small entrance to Cian’s body, fascinated by how the muscle contracted and relaxed as Quinn breathed over it. He moved his thumb to rub around it, looking up at Cian’s sharp intake of breath.

“This okay?” Quinn’s voice was quiet but full of need.

“Don’t stop.” Cian might have been willing to beg for Quinn to continue, but fortunately he didn’t have to.

Quinn leaned in and pressed a kiss right into the center and then stuck his tongue out to lick across the tight hole. He remembered how it had felt the night before when Cian had done this to him. He’d felt like he was falling apart under Cian, but that was okay. He’d known Cian could put him back together.

Quinn explored tentatively at first, then became more bold in his movements, trying to push in farther with his tongue. The sounds Cian made drove him to go deeper, harder, faster. Cian pushed his hips farther from the wall, giving Quinn better access, so Quinn slipped one hand between Cian’s legs to roll his balls gently in his palm.

Cian keened, hips snapping shallowly, like his cock was seeking friction it couldn’t find.

Cian gasped for air. “Quinn… fuck… you need to stop.”

Quinn stopped instantly and stood so he could look Cian in the eyes. “Did I do something wrong? I know I don’t know anything….”

Cian turned and pulled Quinn in for a quick, desperate kiss. “You’re doing everything perfectly, love. It’s just… if you keep it up, I’m gonna come before you can get inside me.”

Quinn’s breath caught in his throat as his cock pulsed out a thick blob of precome that was washed away by the warm water.

“Inside? I’ve never….” Quinn blushed like he was ashamed of his own innocence.

Cian brought his hands up to frame Quinn’s face. “Shh, it doesn’t matter, love. We’ll figure it out together, okay?” He waited for Quinn to nod before kissing him again, and then reached out for the water controls and shut off the spray.

Quinn pushed him out of the shower and snagged a towel as he walked by the hanging rod. He dried himself quickly before turning to run the towel over Cian’s skin.

Dropping the towel to the floor, he took Cian’s hand and led him to the bed before his courage failed him. Cian climbed onto the bed, lay on his back, and pulled Quinn down beside him.

“You know what to do, sweetheart. Just do it for me.” He leaned over, grabbed a condom and the lube from the nightstand, and dropped them beside Quinn.

Quinn looked up at Cian, smiling shyly, and then reached for him. He pulled him down, sucked a mark into Cian’s neck just under his ear, and then licked his way into Cian’s mouth.

Cian draped himself over Quinn, using his weight to leverage them into rolling over. “There we are, love. You feel so good on me. But you’re gonna feel better in me.” Cian arched his body up against Quinn’s, their shower-warm skin sliding together to create delicious sparks.

Quinn kissed him fiercely and then opened the bottle of lube and slicked one hand. He used it to prepare Cian as gently and lovingly as he could, needing to hear more of the wanton sounds pouring from Cian’s mouth.

“Now… please, darlin’… need it now.”
And Quinn couldn’t resist.

He positioned himself between Cian’s legs, pushed them up against the other man’s chest, rolled the condom on with one hand, and pressed his cock in slowly. “Fuck, Cian….” The feeling of heat and pressure was overwhelming, and it took everything Quinn had to not come on the first slow glide in.

“I know, love, but you’re not about to break me.” Cian’s voice was ragged. “I need you to move faster.” He curled his hand around Quinn’s neck and pulled him in for a distracting kiss, using the leg he’d hooked around Quinn’s ass to pull him balls deep.

Quinn pulled back in shock, and Cian smiled at him. “That’s better.” He took a few deep breaths to let his body adjust before nodding. “Move, damn you!” Quinn grinned as he pulled out slowly. “Bossy fucking Irishman.”

Whatever Cian was about to say in return was lost when Quinn thrust back in, pushing the breath out of both of them. They found their rhythm, and it was so good all they could manage were encouraging grunts and moans.

The drag of Quinn’s cock over Cian’s prostate had him teetering on the edge quickly, and Quinn wasn’t far behind.

“I’m gonna come.” One hand slipped off Quinn’s neck and between their bodies. Cian fisted his own cock, stripping it quickly.

Quinn watched him, enraptured by Cian falling apart under him. It was the single hottest thing he’d ever seen. “Do it, Cian. Come for me.”

A couple more strokes and the world seemed stop as Cian clenched around him and then painted their stomachs and chests with sticky hot stripes of come. Just seeing that pushed Quinn over the edge, and he came hard, moaning Cian’s name.

As Quinn came down, he slowly relinquished his hold on Cian’s legs and let them fall to the bed. He looked into Cian’s face, seeing flushed skin and red, wet, kiss-swollen lips, and he was sure it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen.

He slipped out of Cian carefully, wincing in sympathy with the small hiss Cian was unable to stop.

After dealing with the condom, he curled into Cian’s side, lying with his ear over Cian’s heart, listening intently as it slowly regained its resting cadence.

“You okay, love?” Cian had one arm wrapped around Quinn’s shoulders and was carding through Quinn’s damp hair. The other hand was tangled with Quinn’s on his stomach.

“Yeah… just a little overwhelmed?” He sounded so unsure, Cian couldn’t help but smile.

“Well, as I’m the one who was just thoroughly fucked, I think I’m the one who should be a little befuddled.”

Quinn snorted. “Thanks… I think.” He took a deep breath and then sighed. “I guess we should go shower again. I have to be in Sallybrook this afternoon.” Cian kissed the top of his head. “Yeah, I know. Separate showers this time, I think. Or we’ll never leave this hotel room.”

Quinn lifted his head to look at him, and Cian gave him an exaggerated leer. Quinn smacked him on the arm and chuckled. “I’m so tired now. Apparently coming my brains out makes me exhausted.” He pressed a kiss to Cian’s chest before continuing. “I think you can drive, so I can sleep.” Quinn’s words come out in a drowsy jumble.

Cian just hugged him closer. “That could be arranged.”

After a couple of minutes snuggling, Cian forced them both to get up, pushing Quinn into a quick shower while Cian packed up the room.

When Quinn was done in the bathroom, they traded places, and soon they were ready to go. Both were reluctant to leave the hotel, but they had to get going. After a few more kisses, they left, casting longing glances over their shoulders as the door closed softly behind them.

Chapter 10
T
HEY
stopped for coffee on the way out of Limerick and then had breakfast in a small town called Ballincolly.

They grabbed some sandwiches and fruit from a little roadside stand and drove until they came to a nice spot to pull over. There was a little meadow sheltered by some trees, and Quinn grabbed a blanket he’d spotted in the trunk earlier and spread it on the grass.

After they’d settled comfortably, they talked as they ate.
Cian glanced at Quinn and smiled at the soft look in his eyes.

“So, young Mr. Donovan, do you have plans for the future? Just going to go into business with your dad? Or is there something else you want to be doing?”

Quinn thought before answering. “I don’t know.” He frowned down at the plum in his hands before continuing. “I love to write, and I was thinking about going back to school and taking some courses.” Quinn blushed. “Sounds kind of lame, I guess.”

“Why lame? If you love to do it, why not take the chance if you can?” Quinn shrugged. “I’m afraid I’ll fail. I hate feeling like a disappointment to my family.”

Cian grinned and moved around behind Quinn. He pulled Quinn back between his legs and smiled when he leaned back into Cian’s chest. “I’m pretty sure that nothing about you is a disappointment to your family, Quinn. Your dad wouldn’t have sent you here alone if he didn’t have faith in you.”

Cian wrapped his arms around Quinn’s trim waist, letting his hand come to rest on his stomach.

Quinn reached down and played with the fingers on one of Cian’s hands. “I know that in my head, but sometimes in my heart, it doesn’t feel that way.”

Cian nuzzled the side of Quinn’s neck, his lips curling into a smile at the little squeak Quinn gave when Cian’s lips touched his skin. “You’re smart and beautiful.” Cian punctuated his words with little kisses to the sensitive skin of Quinn’s neck. “You’re passionate and kind, and I have no doubt that you are capable of writing anything you set your mind to.”

Quinn turned a little so he could press a kiss to Cian’s jaw. “How can you be so sure?”

“I’ve been watching you, listening to you.” Cian pulled him up so Quinn was sitting on one thigh and his legs hung over the other.

“That first day, in the pub, you were alone and probably a little nervous. But you didn’t hesitate to correct my rather rude observation in front of my friends.” Cian chuckled. “Damn, but you were fierce. My mates teased me relentlessly for letting a firecracker like you walk out the door.” He kissed Quinn on the temple. “Kinda glad fate brought you around again.”

Quinn grinned up at him. “It’s not the first time my temper’s gotten the better of me.”

Quinn pushed Cian onto his back and swung his leg around so he was straddling Cian’s hips. He leaned in and kissed him sweetly, no real intent behind it, tasting of coffee and salty ham and strawberries. It was delicious.

He pulled back, reaching out to explore the planes of Cian’s handsome face. Cian just lay there, enjoying the soft touches, his arms flung up over his head, and when Quinn curled his hand around his cheek, Cian turned a little to press a kiss into the palm.

Theysat quietly for a few minutes until Cian noticed a shadow pass over them,
and he glanced up. When his eyes widened, Quinn looked up too.

“Uh-oh!” Quinn scrambled off Cian and got to his feet. “It looks like we’d better get back to the car.”

Cian nodded as he stood. “Yeah, doesn’t take long for the weather to change around here.”

They quickly packed everything up, but it was too late. Just as Quinn was folding the blanket, the first fat drops of rain hit him. It was like someone flicked a switch. The rain came down in sheets as they ran for the car.

Cian pushed the button on the key ring and the trunk popped open. Quinn threw in the soggy blanket and the remains of their picnic and closed the lid. They ran for the doors, slid in, and slammed them shut.

Cian sat behind the wheel, trying to get his breath back, and then looked over at Quinn, who promptly burst out laughing.

Cian’s hair was plastered to his head, water falling out of it, down his face and the back of his neck. His shirt was stuck to his skin and almost see-through, and Quinn shivered as he noticed Cian’s nipples were peaked from the cold.

Cian scowled for a second and then joined in the laughter. “Like you’re any better off?” He raised his eyebrows and looked Quinn up and down.

Quinn looked at himself and realized that his white T-shirt was even more seethrough than Cian’s, and it outlined every muscle in his chest and stomach. The damp fabric also clung obscenely to the bulge in the front of Quinn’s jeans.

He looked up at Cian and blushed at the dark heat in his eyes. Quinn’s gaze caught a drop of rainwater that slipped from Cian’s hair and was snaking its way down Cian’s face and neck.

Quinn couldn’t help it. He curled his hand around Cian’s neck and pulled him in to follow the drop’s path with his tongue, eliciting a pained groan.

“Jesus, Quinn, you really are trying to kill me.”
Quinn pulled back and smiled. “Nope, I’m not into necrophilia.” Cian snorted. “Sometimes the things that come out of your mouth amaze me.”

Quinn gave a wicked smirk. “I thought you liked it better when I put things in my mouth.”

“Quinn, if you don’t let me start driving right now, we aren’t getting to Sallybrook anytime soon, and we might even get arrested for indecent exposure.”

Quinn just sat there looking at him like he was considering something. “Well? Are you gonna let me drive?”

“I’m waiting for you to give me a reason. I’m also deciding if it would be worth it to have to call my dad for bail money.”

The look on Cian’s face was priceless, and Quinn managed to keep a straight face for almost three whole seconds before he fell into fits of laughter that made the car shake. After a shocked second, Cian joined in. It took them a few minutes to collect themselves.

When Quinn finally got his breath back, he gestured toward the keys. “Yeah, I guess we better get going. My appointment at Briarwood is for this afternoon, so we’d better get to the hotel.”

“It’s only an hour or so from here, Quinn. You’ll have plenty of time to get changed and get out there.”

Quinn smiled as Cian pulled onto the highway. “Good thing we have your astounding navigation skills to help us find our way.”

Quinn thought that statement was kind of fitting. Cian had been helping him find his way through more than one problem. It was going to be almost impossible to leave him behind when Quinn had to return to Rockingham.

“So, have you ever met this Kieran Michaels?”

Cian shook his head. “The few times he and Granddad have gotten together have usually been away from the farm, and I always stayed behind to look after things.” Cian grinned. “I’ve heard the stories, though. I have a feeling that until Gran tamed him, Davin O’Reilly was quite the wild one.”

“I bet. My Gramma Anna likes to tell stories about my Grandpa Peter. There must be something about being in the horse business. Makes all the men as highspirited as the animals.”

Cian laughed, glancing over and eyeing Quinn appreciatively. “And it turns them all into studs.”

“Cian O’Reilly! That might be the cheesiest thing anyone has ever said to me.” Quinn chuckled. “Apparently we need to take a side trip from Sallybrook over to Blarney Castle so you can kiss the stone.”

“Hey, I’ve done that trip a time or two already; it’s how I got my skills!” Quinn sighed heavily and shook his head. “Another legend blown all to hell.”
