“Be quiet.” She hit him on his shoulder. “Teagan doesn’t know you snuck into my room last night, so don’t send out the newswire with your laughter.”
He quieted his voice, but his shoulders still shook with his barely controlled laughter.
She shook her head. “Get your pants on and get back to your own room,” she snapped.
“Ah, babe, don’t be angry.”
“Twenty times,” she huffed. “If you get me pregnant twenty times I’m going to find somebody to put a whammy on that thing,” she pointed to his penis.
He fell over on his back; laughing so hard tears were popping out of his eyes.
“You laugh now, but you won’t when you can’t use it.” Her threat was obviously lost on him because his laughter grew.
She pulled her sundress over her body. She was not going to stay in that room with him snickering about something she took very seriously.

Twenty babies? The man was out of his mind crazy. What scared her most was the fact that he probably could get her pregnant that much.
The soft knock on the door told her Sully had definitely awakened somebody with all that boisterous laughing he was doing.
“What’s going on in there,” She heard his mother’s voice on the other side of the door. She opened it.
“Your son is crazy,” she said hurriedly. “He’s talking about me having twenty babies if this one isn’t a boy.”
“This one?” Maureen’s eyes widened as she looked between the two of them. Sully was still too busy laughing to carry on a conversation.
Alaina covered her mouth. Well she had just let the cat out of the bag; she might as well officially announce it. “I just took the test this morning, and it’s positive.”
“Yes,” she slapped her hands together and did a happy dance. “I have been hoping for another child in this house for years. Of course you both know I’ll be going back to my cottage on the outskirts of the property when you get married, but I’ll gladly help you with the children.”
“Thanks,” Alaina smiled.
“So, twenty babies huh…he thinks that’s funny?”
“No, I told him I would have somebody put a whammy on him if he even tried it. That’s what he’s laughing so hard about.”
“Oh. I see. Well if you’re serious about it I do have a friend down in the bayous in Louisiana who will gladly put a whammy on it for you.”
“Will it work?” Alaina cut Sully a look.

“It worked for his father.”
Sully stopped laughing abruptly. “Mom!”
“Hey, I only wanted one child, and after you that was it. I told your father that and then he started talking about six more…well, a woman has to do what a woman has to do. Your father was too good in bed to resist. I wanted him to still be able to use it, but I didn’t want six kids because of it.”
Alaina laughed. “Oh yeah, we are going to be such great friends.” She wrapped her arm in Maureen’s arm. “Now let’s go talk about that friend of yours.”
She heard Sully protest as she closed the door behind them. She couldn’t help but laugh herself. This was going to be her family. Were they all crazy? Yes, but crazy in a good way, crazy fun, crazy in love, crazy loyal…and that was a heck of a lot better than the crazy her family had possessed.
Teagan ran out of her room. “Where’s dad? I thought I heard him.”
“He’s in Alaina’s room.”
“Maureen!”
“Oh please. She’s six, not four. She knew the two of you were making whoopee the moment you pulled up in the driveway. Smart girl that one,” she laughed. “Go brush your teeth and then come down stairs for breakfast, Teagan. Let your father pull himself together a little more.” Alaina blushed as she watched Teagan scurry back to her room.
“Did you know too?”

“I knew before the two of you left here that you’d end up in the sack together. I had a feeling you’d end up married someday too. My feelings are always right.”
“Always?”
“Always. Haven’t missed one yet.”
“Then what’s your feeling about this one?” She placed her hand over her stomach. “Boy or girl?”
Maureen eyed her cautiously. “Girl,” she nodded. “Definitely a girl.”
She smiled. “Well that’s fine too. I hoped we could have a little boy, but who cares as long as the baby is healthy it doesn’t matter what the gender is.”
“Good to know, because I have a feeling the next one will be a girl too.”
“Next one?”
“Third time will be the charm for you.”
“Third?”
“So, do you still want that whammy?”
Alaina laughed. “Third?” She hadn’t envisioned giving birth three times. She could only hope Maureen’s feeling would be wrong for once.
Of course, she and Sully could have a lot of fun making three babies—a lot of fun indeed.
“I’ll have to get back to you on that one,” she laughed. “A little girl…I guess we better start thinking of girl names too…just in case.” Capri Montgomery 191

“Just in case,” Maureen smiled. “I’m going to put in my vote for Windsor. It’s perfect for a girl or a boy.” She wasn’t so sure Sully would be happy about that, but it surely would be a fun suggestion to make. “Windsor,” she smiled. “I’ll mention it to Sully,” she giggled. She could just see his reaction now.
“You’ll mention what to me?” Sully walked into the kitchen, took a coffee cup down and then poured himself a cup of coffee. Neither of them had heard him come down the stairs.
“Your mother just thought of a great name for the baby if it’s a girl.”
“It will be,” she confirmed.
“Mother’s always right about these things,” he nodded. “So what’s the name?”
“Windsor,” Alaina let the excitement come across in her tone.
“Oh, hell,” he moaned and both women started laughing just as hard as he had been earlier. One of these days Alaina was sure she would find out what the issue with the name Windsor was. Why did his mother like it so much, and why did he hate it so much? For now, she was just going to settle on having a little fun with his mom at his expense.
