She mouthed something that looked a hell of a lot like, “Ready?”

Was he ever.

He nodded then whispered, “If you are.”

She touched the slick tip of her index finger to her clit and drew wet circles over the swollen bundle of nerves while she ground on the cock buried inside her.

A rush of exhilaration and pleasure flowed over Jeremy.

He couldn’t swear who surrendered first. In the end, it didn’t matter. Cries of completion filled the space as many of the members exploded with them. Lily fucked David hard enough to shake the table he laid on. The full length of his cock plunged in and out of her as she increased the amplitude of her strokes.

Come boiled from Jeremy’s balls while Lily quaked on top of David. The man bellowed her name and emptied himself into the condom sheathing his cock. Jeremy tried to withdraw from the mouth of the woman sucking him off, but she knocked his hand away and slid down his length until the head of his dick slipped into her throat. She swallowed again and again as he overflowed her orifice.

Still, he couldn’t peel his stare from Lily, who gazed at him in return.

Time suspended. The distance between them shrank. Jeremy swore he could hear her pleas, begging him to make her his.

Or maybe that was just wishful thinking.

Lily smiled. He sighed.

A ragged groan snapped Jeremy’s attention to his right, to Morselli. A hired thug, the dude who’d led in the new slave, pinned his captive’s thrashing legs to the concrete floor beneath their cushy seats at the base of the bleachers. Tony’s knuckles went white as he anchored the girl’s head to his groin and shot his load down her opened throat.

Tony tarnished what could have been a sublime moment—one Jeremy had ached for. Lusted after. Gone half-mad abstaining from.

The bastard reminded him of how easily this lifestyle could spiral out of control.

Satisfied, Morselli released his prisoner. She crumpled onto the floor. Tears streaked her cheeks. Jeremy had to sit on his hands to keep from comforting her or annihilating her abuser. Honor screamed for him to act. Immediately.

Before he could finish battling the urges, the slave wrenched from the goon’s hands and clambered to her feet with a strength and resilience that awed Jeremy. Morselli must have been equally surprised because he didn’t manage to cover his face fast enough. The young girl spit the remnants of his come through the open-mouthed gag, into his eyes. Sticky globs landed on his cheeks and in his hair.

No!

Jeremy lunged for her. Too late. Tony’s bodyguard backhanded her, knocking her unconscious. A trickle of blood dibbled from her cut lip as the dirtbag tossed her over his shoulder.

“You’ll pay for that, Bruno.” Morselli snarled as he mopped his face with a silk handkerchief. “After I throw her to the rest of my men, maybe I’ll let them have a go at you too. With a drop or two of our
medicine
they won’t stop until you’re begging to die.”

Holy fuck.
The drug. Tony had some. And he wasn’t lying. Jeremy had suffered its effects himself a few months earlier. One spritz into the enclosed space of a van had knocked him, Lily, fellow cop Razor and the rookie’s girl, Izzy, for a loop and a half.

Despite a trip to the hospital, the effects had lingered for days.

Jeremy had nearly rubbed himself raw searching for satisfaction.

Before he could process all that had happened, or figure out how to rescue the woman being carted from the dungeon, Morselli stood. He sneered. “Enjoy my leftovers.”

“I will, Tony. Don’t worry. I’ll repay you. Someday
very
soon.” The slave between Jeremy’s legs refastened his pants. She broke protocol as she rose of her own volition, interrupting his line of sight with the monster, who pivoted to leave.

They’d come too far for rash wrath to ruin the plan. He accepted the leather loop the woman held between her teeth then guided her from the room in the opposite direction, pausing to shoot a backward glance at Lily. Her slaves tended to her—cleaned her, straightened her hair, daubed sweat from what little flesh she bared.

Abandoning her in a hedonistic den where foxes lurked—corrupting her pure pursuit of fantasy—didn’t sit well, though she could fend for herself. She’d battled The Scientist and the human traffickers from inside their network for so long, she had to be pushing her luck.

Be careful. Watch your back. I’m coming for you. Soon.

She blew him a kiss.

Chapter Three

Jeremy paced the hardwood floor outside the guest bedroom in Mason, Tyler and Lacey’s new house. He didn’t pause to admire the soothing color Lacey had bribed the men in blue—with pizza and beer—to paint the walls.

“JRad.” Razor climbed the stairs. “Give it a rest. That squeak in the floor you’re nailing at the end of your run is driving us bananas down there.”

“James!” Isabella slapped the rookie’s ass as she trailed him. She squeezed past her boyfriend on the landing and trotted toward Jeremy.

Without thought he opened his arms, welcoming her into his gentle embrace. Despite recent events, she remained innocent, affectionate and sweet. Everything he wasn’t.

“Don’t pay attention to him, Jeremy.”

“When did you two show up?” He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, reluctant to release her. For so long he’d relied on the happiness of his friends to banish his loneliness. Their bliss acted like balm on his open wounds.

“About five minutes ago. Clint and Matt are in the living room too.” She rubbed his lower back, which sat at the right height for the sprite, as she filled him in.

Jeremy closed his eyes. His breathing slowed. He bundled her close then pretended the diminutive woman he held wasn’t Izzy, but instead, her half-sister. Lily.

When his cock inflated, he rejected Isabella’s comfort, separating them a little more forcefully than he intended. Razor caught her, shooting Jeremy a glare over her platinum-blond hair. The women were so much the same and yet so different. Even if
his
midnight beauty hadn’t admitted it yet, fate or some other force of nature kept drawing them together—circumstances and their incompatible sexual preferences be damned.

“You saw her.” Izzy chewed her bottom lip.

“What makes you so sure?” No use in pretending he didn’t understand who
her
was.

“Your eyes. Your restlessness. Your…” She peeked at his crotch. A blush heated her cheeks despite the months she’d spent discovering intimacy with Razor.

“You can say cock.” He chuckled. “Hell, it’s not like I haven’t watched you suck one before, sweetheart.”

Damn.
Another tick in the Cons column for a relationship with Lily. Coached her sister through her first BJ. Check. Followed closely by manually-inspected-her-sister’s-virginity. Double check.

Razor growled and tugged Izzy beneath his arm.

“Is Lily okay?” Isabella glanced up from her spot against her lover’s chest. She fit so well with him. Not like Lily, whom Jeremy would tower over.

Lost in thought, he didn’t answer immediately.

“Oh no. She’s not?”

Razor stroked her hair. “He didn’t say that, Izzy. Don’t jump to conclusions.”

“Shit. Sorry.” Jeremy spun on his heel and strode to the end of the hallway, dodging the loose floorboard, before returning once more. He scrubbed his hand through his hair, sure it stuck out on end after repeated passes. “Lily’s fine. Great, actually. She was fucking
amazing
.”

Razor’s lifted brows asked for details he wasn’t about to get. Not with Izzy in the room. She probably wouldn’t care to hear the gritty details about her sister. The photographs they’d uncovered last winter had freaked her out enough.

They’d turned Jeremy on.

He might have appropriated copies off the station’s evidence storage server.

Oops.

“So what has you this upset?” Isabella reached out and snagged his wrist. She prevented him from spinning off for another circuit of the passageway with the softest of touches.

“It’s confirmed. There’s another auction on Sunday. I’m afraid she’ll risk too much. Eventually someone will realize she’s smuggling women out of that hellhole. We have to shut it down before they do. Otherwise…” He couldn’t finish.

“We’ll figure something out, JRad.”

“Last time I looked you guys weren’t all on the DEA team.” He didn’t intend to insult the kid. Facts were facts. “Besides, I’m likely to be canned or arrested—maybe both—as soon as Agent Sterns discovers I went to Black Lily. Then I’ll be no help to her at all.”

“We may not be part of your fancy task force, but we’re still your friends. Asshole.” Razor settled when Isabella murmured his name. She nuzzled the rookie’s jaw then rested her cheek over the scars on his chest.

Jeremy would be lying if he said the sight of her utter trust and devotion didn’t propagate envy in his soul. He suspected constant exposure to the radiation emitted by Mason, Tyler, Lacey, Razor and Izzy’s scorching love had caused a malignant lesion to start festering on his heart. Could he ever have something as brilliant? Would Lily grant him the right to protect her? To lean on her?

He shook his head to clear the bitterness.

“Razor, after the stunt you pulled with Izzy at the clean side of the club last year, you would blow my cover in a flash. Mason and Tyler too.” Jeremy cursed. He could use some backup that didn’t mind bending a rule or two. The DEA guys had a real stick up their ass about protocol. Something he’d never succeeded at enforcing.

“Matt and Clint kept their distance.” Razor sowed the seed of a plan in his mind.

“That’s true—”

The door to the guest bedroom cracked open before Lacey slipped into the hall. Tyler shadowed her. Figured her men would refuse to leave their soul mate alone with a stranger. Still, it was probably best they hadn’t assigned Mason to watchdog duty. His hulking frame would remind the woman Jeremy had rescued too much of the muscle-bound bullies Morselli employed.

“How is she?”

The woman hadn’t uttered a peep during the entire ride to his friends’ home. Jeremy couldn’t risk admitting her to a hospital in case Morselli found out. But she hadn’t seemed to believe him when he assured her he’d brought her to a nurse. That Lacey would help.

He guessed she’d been too scared to hope for the impossible—terrified the prospect of escape might be another cruel deception used to break her spirit. God only knew what she had endured.

“She’s hanging in there.” Lacey ran her hand down his arm, lending him strength. He loved how unafraid of him she was. Same as Izzy. If they had learned his secrets, they never would have relaxed like this around him. “Dehydrated, malnourished, exhausted, exhibiting shock symptoms and bruised all over. Somehow, still optimistic. And so very grateful for your help.”

His disbelief must have shown through his attempted mask.

“Truly. You saved her life, Jeremy.”

He would have objected but Ty cut him off. “She asked to speak to you. After her shower and dinner, Lacey gave her some strong shit. She’s checking out quick. Go ahead before she’s asleep. We can settle stuff afterward. Meet us in the living room when you’re done.”

Jeremy nodded then strode past his friends.

Lacey had plugged a nightlight in the outlet near the bed. In the dim glow, the shadows beneath the woman’s eyes seemed enormous. He approached her cautiously, unwilling to wake her if she’d conked out or frighten her if she hadn’t.

“You really took me away from there?” She winced. “It’s over? I never have to serve
him
or his friends again?”

“Christ. I’m so sorry. Please forgive—”

“Not necessary.” She waved her fingers at his apology as if she lacked the energy to move her entire hand.

“The hell it isn’t. I used you. I had no right.”

“You did what you had to. Same as I have.” She grimaced. “Better actually, since you tried to stop me.”

“I didn’t fight very hard.” He sank into the chair beside her bed, ridiculously pleased when she reached out to touch his knee.

“You get off on BDSM.” She sighed. “So do I.”

“How’d you end up…”

“A slave? I chose to submit.” She huffed then sniffled when her eyes filled for what he’d bet was the first time in months.

Jeremy scooted closer, rocking her against his chest. Once the flow began it didn’t stop for long minutes. Eventually her sobs quieted to soft hiccups. He didn’t ask for more, but she elected to give it.

“My M-master used to be kind—stern though attentive. Like you…”

He cringed.

She enfolded his hand between her chilled fingers and kissed his knuckles. “That was a compliment.”

“If he’s so damn great, how could he abandon you? Why didn’t he protect you?” Jeremy sneered as he considered his own failures.

“He got s-sick.” She shook her head slowly. “No. Hooked on drugs. I had to remind myself it was a disease, something killing my Master as surely as if he’d contracted AIDS or had cancer. The chemical ate him from the inside. It attacked the man I loved and destroyed him cell by cell. There’s a substance. If it has an official name, I’ve never heard it. Morselli’s staff and his prisoners call it Sex Offender. It’s supposed to be some kind of libido-enhancer. It’s potent. Unimaginably addictive. I think it makes you crazy if you do too much.”

“I know.” Jeremy winced.

“You’ve taken it?” She would have scooted to the opposite edge of the bed—or hobbled from the room—if he hadn’t stopped her.

“Not willingly.” He cursed. “It’s a long story. I got dosed by accident.”

“Did you hurt anyone?” Her lips trembled. “It wouldn’t have been your fault under the influence. My Master didn’t mean the things he did to me. I
have
to believe that.”

“We were in the middle of a big case. When it wrapped, I locked myself in my apartment for a few days. Called in sick to work until I felt normal again.” He rubbed his temples as he remembered the dreams, the voices urging him to find a partner, any woman, to slake his desire with. He’d like to believe he could have controlled himself. Like Razor and Izzy must have. But he couldn’t be sure.

“You’re strong. A good man. A good Master.” The woman linked her fingers with his. He met her gaze when she squeezed his knuckles lightly. “Mine was too. Except for his weakness. He couldn’t fight it. In the end, he traded me to Morselli for a stash of Sex Offender he could never have afforded. He overdosed the same night, within hours. I never said goodbye. Morselli confiscated the rest of the drugs and refused to let me leave.”
