“Catchy title, huh?” said Mrs. Bunny.

“But we were the heroes! We saved the day and it doesn't even mention us by name!”

“Not important, it's a wonderful title.”

“It's a pooey title. What you want to call it is
Mr. and Mrs. Bunny—Detectives Extraordinaire!

“I do not,” said Mrs. Bunny as they got into the Smart car and started for town. “I want to call it
Madeline and the Detectives
.”

Mr. and Mrs. Bunny—Detectives Extraordinaire!
What a bestseller ring that has about it!”

“Madeline and the Detectives,”
said Mrs. Bunny, crossing her arms. “And might I say what a tin ear you have, Mr. Bunny.”

Back and forth they went all the way to the hat shoppe. When Mrs. Bunny got out, she put the manuscript back in the envelope and carefully sealed it. “There,” she said, “the deed is done. I'll see you at four.”

“As you like,” said Mr. Bunny with dignity, and drove to the post office. He got in line and was just about to hand the envelope to the postmistress for weighing when he spied some manila envelopes for sale. He bought one and addressed it. He opened the envelope Mrs. Bunny had sealed and took out the manuscript. He looked at the first page, did a little scribbling and then put it in the new envelope for the postmistress to mail.

“In time Mrs. Bunny will see I am right,” he said to himself. Then he hopped happily back into the warm summer air.
