I don’t say anything back. This is too much for me to handle. My sister is giving me her blessing to love her friend, but how can I return after what I did? Wayne can’t miss me. He should hate me. I clear my throat and wipe the corners of my eyes; a couple tears drip onto my shirt. “Look, I need to clean up the house before I go to work later. I promise to call you tomorrow, okay?”

“Sure,” she quietly, replies. I can tell she feels defeated and I don’t blame her.

“Love you, Sister.”

“I love you too.”

I’VE BEEN OFF MY GAME
. The last two months since Melody left have been fucking mental. I went from an easy going, happy go lucky guy, to an asshole overnight. I snap at my buddies, which I never used to do, I don’t joke as much or show any emotions. I am trying to go along with the flow of things. However that flow is a now a river full of shit.

What could have been the one of the best birthday’s of my life, turned into a night of me getting hammered and waking up to my own vomit. Once the party at my parents’ was over, I went home and had another party of one. Slim crashed early and all the others went their separate ways. I never knew just how important Melody was to me, until the day she vanished. It’s like I am now a different person; she yanked my heart out of my chest and went running with it. I haven’t been the same since. Drinking is not usually my way of dealing with bad times, but hell, I am destroyed from the inside out. Going on tour there is no place to workout. I live for the gym, so with no gym in sight I have been turning to the booze. It’s not a good thing and I need to get back into lifting. Getting drunk and becoming a drunk is not me. I won’t become that person. Yet, having sex with other women just may be the only way that will help ease the pain. Drowning inside another woman is what will get me back to feeling like my old self - I just fucking hope it will.

A few weeks into the tour and I still couldn’t go all the way with anyone. Pleasing the other woman was not in my cards, but trying was a distraction.

We’re now in Alabama, and getting ready to go on stage after
Ashes and Embers
finish their gig. I have taken the time to scope out some groupie to get a good long head. I need to get pumped up and ready for the crowd.

I found the lonely, small blonde, in a corner with her friends. She had a look that was nothing like Melody. I needed someone who didn’t remind me of her, but I wanted to pretend her mouth and pussy were. I didn’t say hi, just took her by the hand and had her follow me to an empty bathroom. She squealed the second her hand collided with mine; I knew she would be a good way to get me hyped.

I am in the middle of getting head from this chick. Her mouth is a pretty good size for my thick cock, but I am getting annoyed by her moaning.
It’s not Melody. This girl doesn’t care about me.
“God, you taste so good. Mmm, so fine.” I can’t stand it. She takes her mouth away. “Now it’s my turn. Hurry and fuck me, please,” she huffs as she starts to pull up her skirt and slide her panties down. “Wait till my friends find out I’ve had sex with Wayne Priest, and given him head. I’ll make them so jealous,” she laughs. My dick becomes limp. After her mouth left it and she started yapping, my dick no longer wanted her. “What’s the hold up! Come on! I gave you some head, now it’s my turn!” she whines and yells.

“Get the fuck out,” I seethe through my teeth.

“What?”

I push her body away, disgusted. “I’m done with you. Leave!”

“You fucking jerk!” She pulls up her panties and marches out of the tiny bathroom.

I swipe a hand through my hair, zip up my jeans and take a deep breath. Slim comes knocking on the door as soon as the chick leaves. “Hey, we’re up in ten, you ready?”

“Yeah. Give me a sec.” I turn on the faucet and splash some water on my face, before I walk out.

“You okay bro?”

“Almost banged that chick.”

“Almost? You mean you didn’t?”

“Couldn’t. She didn’t feel crap for me.”

“Isn’t that the whole point?”

People are walking fast all around us as we head back into the green room. It’s loud, chaotic and fucking reeks of sweat. We hear the crowd from outside, screaming for more, but it gets even louder when they hear that we are up next.

“Used to. Fuck! What the hell is wrong with me?”

“You found love,” Slim simply states.

“Yeah, where the fuck is she now, huh? Gone. Outta my life!” I throw my hands up, frustrated.

He puts a hand on my shoulder and sympathizes with me. “You’ll get your junk back on track. Takes time. Come on, we’ve got a show to put on.”

“Maybe you’re right.” I shake my head back and forth, pretending I am going inside a boxing ring. “Okay, I’m ready! Let’s go!” I slap my hands together and make it on stage with the others. The show is about to begin.

The arena is outside. It’s fucking scorching, and I am already dripping from the humidity and sun. It’s beating it’s rays on my face, so I put on my shades and get my bass ready. The crowd is going wild for us. It’s making me feel a whole lot better. Can’t wait to get started.

“What’s up Alabama! I’m Lucky Jones!” Lucky shouts and the fans go wildly insane. I am totally pumped! “You havin’ a good time?!” he shouts again. I look out across the arena. There is nothing like it in the world. Screaming fans, the anticipation, the excitement - it’s fucking wild. Lucky continues, “My boys here are ready to show you what they got! Danny-boy!” Danny does a little groove with his guitar. The girls are waving their hands in the air, screaming for him. Lucky then shouts my name, “Wayne!” I walk up to the edge of the stage, where there are a clump of girls crying for me. I take off my shades and wink at them. The reaction never gets old. I strum a note on my bass and walk back by Slim. I get a slap on the chest by him. We both laugh. It’s awesome up here. Lucky shouts, “Slim!” He turns around and takes a selfie with the crowd behind him. You can see it on the big screen behind us on stage. Slim never misses a Kodak moment. The fans can’t get over it. “And Jason!” He beats his drums a few times. The screaming never dies down. “Let’s get this summer rockin’!” Lucky shouts again, then says, “Hit it Jason!” And so it begins. The music, singing, and the never ending surreal feeling of being able to show the world how we love entertaining them.

After the fourth song, I can’t take it anymore. I have to yank off my white tank and throw it in the crowd. I put down my bass, step up to the mic and seductively tell the mosh pit of chicks, “Ladies, this one’s for you!” I pull it up over my head and throw it in the pit. The chicks are like caged dogs fighting for a bone. I’ve never seen anything like it. Hell, this just might become my new trademark; nothing like putting on a good show with no shirt on.

By then end of our segment, the sun is going down, showing off the most insane sunset; pinks, oranges and yellows paint the sky. I make Slim use his phone to capture the arena with the fans and that stunning sunset.

Lucky has a few last words before we take off. “It’s been a fucking blast traveling around with all these amazing people and seeing you all out there! Thank you! We love you!” The crowd chants our band’s name over and over again, but before they know it, the next band is ready to take their spot. We run back into the green room shaking off our sweat and guzzle down another bottle of water.

“You guys knocked it out of the park again! The crowd went wild for you,” Lyric exclaims.

“Hell yes!” I shout. “Damn, I got fucking drenched out there!”

“Yeah, we could tell,” Slim chuckles.

“What? I got hot! Had to take the shirt off.”

“Is that going to be your new thing?” Jason asks, smirking.

I shrug. “Doesn’t hurt to get the ladies involved.”

Lucky sits on a battered couch with an exhale. “Whatever works, right?”

I feel energized and almost back to my old self, but something generates my mood. “Ahhhhh, Wayne!” Another groupie chick…I quickly change back to wanting to erase Melody from my head and body.

The tall, lanky chick, with short dark hair and blue eyes comes crashing into my chest. I catch her and hug her back. “Hey there, Babe,” I murmur.

“Sign me, please!” she happily squeals in my ear.

I’ll go with the flow, like I have done several times on this tour, and give her what she wants. “You fucking got it.” She hands me a sharpie, lifts her top - no bra - tits hang out; fake, most likely, and I fucking sign each tit. I used to love signing a woman’s bared chest. Now I see nothing but a desperate floozy. I’ll take it though.

She jumps up and down while her friends gawk at us with their mouths wide open. “Eek! Thank you!” She wraps her arms around my neck, forcing me to stay connected.

I squeeze her tiny waist and say, “No prob.”

She then quietly murmurs in my ear, “Would you like to…you know?”

Fuck. Not sure I can do this again, but my cock needs to blow. I’ll take anyone for a distraction. “Chill somewhere?” I suggest.

“Yes!”

“Come. I’ve got a good place to chill.” I take her by the hand then start to lead her to the bus. No one is going to go on there. They know what my intentions are with this girl. The other groupies stay behind and mingle with the other bands while I take the lanky chick away.

“Wayne!” Slim shouts my name.

“Hold on, Baby,” I tell the lanky chick. I leave her standing and walk back over to Slim. “What?”

“Dude…you couldn’t get it up with the other girl, so what makes you think this time will be any different?”

He’s right. I have a bad feeling it’s not going to end well, but I’m an asshole and ignore him. I slap my hand on his shoulder and say, “Love you bro, but mind your own business.” I turn around without waiting for a response and go back to the girl. “Let’s go.”

We end up on the couch inside the bus. Her top is off, our naked chests smacked together, my mouth wandering over each tit and my dick hardening in between her covered pussy. So far so good. I am ready to undo my zipper when she opens her big fucking mouth. “Wow, you’re really good at this.” Her voice is breathy. I really hate the sound of it. Reminds me of nails on a chalkboard.

I tell her, “Shhh.”

For a moment I think she gets the message, however when I begin to undo my zipper again, and suck on one of her nipples she yelps out, “Yes, I love it right there!”

I unsuck my mouth from her tit. “Stop talking,” I grit through my teeth, irritated.

“Why?”

“Cuz I said.”

The lanky chick shuts up and wraps her legs around my torso. She grooves her pussy against my stiff cock and yelps for the very last time. “Oh, Wayne!”

“Fuck! Can’t do this.” I shove myself away from her, then throw her skanky top at her face.

“Hey, what the fuck?” she squeals at me.
Nails on a chalkboard
.

I open the bus door and demand her to leave. “Get out.”

“You can’t just hustle me out!”

“Yeah I can. I’m Wayne Priest. I can do the fuck I want. Now get the fuck out.”

Lanky chick pulls her top back over her head, huffs out, “Asshole!” and storms off.

All I wanted to do was fuck someone and pretend she’s Melody. Why can’t these chicks just shut the hell up and do what I tell them to do? If they want me to fuck them, they need to listen. Strike two - another attempt gone to hell.

I get another tee from my bunk and walk back to the arena. I find Slim heading in my direction.

“That was quick. We’ve got signings to do.”

“Didn’t fuck her. Show me the way.”

“I knew it, man. You’re just not ready.”

“Whatever.”

“Wayne,” he pulls me aside. “Shut the fuck up and listen to me. You are so out there right now, your head is loose. You’re not going to find anyone like Melody, you know that. Taking a break from these groupies seems like a good idea, because trying to fuck every girl that walks in your path isn’t going to help.” His lecture is pissing me off, but I hear him out anyway. “The bitch really messed you up and it kills me to see you like this.”

Did he just call Melody a bitch?
I close in on Slim, deadbolting a glare into his eyes. “She is not a bitch,” I state. “Get that shit out of your head.” Not once did I ever think Melody was a bitch, and I never will. I may be fucked up and mad as hell at her, but she is nothing close to a bitch.
