As I near the front of the pack I notice more and more
eyes on me from women in the crowd. Expressions seem to range from curiosity to
respect, to jealousy. I discovered a while back that being an old lady has its
perks, especially when you’re the president’s or ex-presidents, in my case, old
lady. I never fully realized just how important this pecking order was for old
ladies until today. I’m nearly to the front of the Disciples when trouble in
the form of a dumb blond with gravity defying tits ten years my junior steps up
and blocks my way.

“Hey lady, biker whores and wannabes form a line in the
back.”

I look at her for a couple seconds waiting for the laugh,
like it’s all a joke or something until I see the nasty expression on her
skanky face. Behind her are three other girls wearing identical looks.

“And which one of those are you?” I ask her.

“She’s riding with Eddie today, bitch!” Says one of the
girls.

I look at the little group’s apparent leader. “Wow…with
your looks…you must be really good at sucking dick because I can’t see him
wanting anything else to do with you.”

“She’s the best!” Proclaims another girl without
thinking.

I look pointedly down at Ms. Dick Sucker’s legs and as
luck would have it she’s got holes in one knee and the other is threatening to
tear open.

“Yeah I think you’d better invest in a set of knee pads
ho, cause those jeans ain’t gonna last the weekend.”

Her nasty expression suddenly turns very dark and ugly
and right away I know I’m gonna be slapped. She draws her hand back and is just
about in forward motion when a strong hand grabs her wrist and spins her
around; it’s Shooter.

“You fucking bitch!” He shouts. “Do you have any idea who
this woman is?”

I revel in her terrified expression as she shakes her
head from side to side.

“She is Cade’s old lady you stupid whore! Now get your
ass out of here.”

“Wait a second, you can’t-” She starts to protest, but
Shooter cuts her off.

“You’re right I can’t.” He turns to me. “You wanna do the
honors Morgan?”

I draw my fist back, fully intending on meting out biker
justice, but something stops me mid-smack down. The old Morgan would have
unloaded on her in a heartbeat. I look at the girl again. She has a terrified
expression on her face. Instead of punching her I put both hands on her fake
chest and push her backwards into her friends.

“Hey,” she squeals as she stumbles backwards into the
arms of her friends.

“Now get the fuck out of here!” Shooter demands.

“But I’m with Eddie.” She protests

“Not anymore you aren’t.” Then Shooter turns to the other
girls. “You babes want to ride with the Disciples today?”

They all nod enthusiastically.

“Great, follow me.” Then he turns to a brother sitting on
his bike watching the proceedings. “Brother, take this bitch to the back of the
line, and I mean back behind everyone. If she still wants to ride she can ride
with the groupies.”

I catch her horrified expression as the other biker herds
her towards the back of the line. For a hanger on like her it’s the ultimate
diss. Shooter delivers me up to the front of the line without incident. Well,
that is until we reach Stacy. We greet each other with the expected smiles and
hugs but the tension in the air hovers over us like a sudden black storm could
that is threatening to rain or even worse, deliver a lightning bolt down on the
top of someone’s head.

“Morgan.” She says.

“Stacy.”

“How’s vacation treating you?” She asks me.

I can’t believe she actually brought up work at a time
like this.

“How are
my
clients treating you?”  I ask, with an
emphasis on the word my.

“They pay me well so I can’t complain.”

I open my mouth to fire back at her but shut it again.
This becoming a different person is a hell of a lot harder than I could have
imagined! It seems like there’s a chance for me to fuck up at every turn.

“Yes…sadly when it comes to people’s money there’s very
little loyalty, especially in this business. You just never know when someone
is going to place a call and end the relationship no matter how much money you
have made for them in the past several years.”

I just couldn’t pass up that opportunity to take a swing
at her. She made the call to my supervisor and swooped in and took my clients;
if only for s short time. Sadly, that short time can easily become permanent.

“Yes poor choices can be costly, can’t they?”

Once more Shooter intervenes before things between me and
someone else gets physical.

“Girls…girls, we’re all friends here right? Now simmer
down and let’s enjoy the ride.”

We both take a step backwards and fists unclench. I turn
on my heels without another word and push past Shooter to join Cade who is
perched atop his bike next to Eddie and his ride. This is going to be an
interesting trip to say the least.

“Hey, it’s Gimp! Good of you to join my little event.”

I clench my teeth and refuse to utter the first ten
things that come to mind. I don’t open my mouth until an appropriate thought
finally comes to mind.

“Interesting to see you as well Eddie,” I reply. Better
to keep it short and sweet. The more I say the more likely I will be to let
something slip out that I don’t want. I just don’t understand how Cade can get
along with Eddie after all that’s gone down between them.

Eddie turns towards his brother. “Ready to roll, little
brother?”

Cade nods and together they both fire up their machines.
The sound of several hundred motorcycles suddenly coming to life is both
thrilling and frightening. I can feel the rumble of the engines deep in my
chest. I climb up on Cade’s massive machine and shove my helmet further down
onto my head. This is the first significant ride I have been on with Cade. I
have been on a few short rides, but even with the walking cast on my lower leg
it wasn’t too comfortable. Now that my cast has been removed I can finally
enjoy my first official club event on the back of a motorcycle.

With a thunderous roar two hundred bikes and scores of
spectators, photographers, and the curious, kick it into high gear for our
annual charity ride to benefit breast cancer research. Part of the donations
over the next 3 days will also go to those suffering from breast cancer that
might not be able to afford treatments.

The summer air is fresh and feels wonderful on my face as
we speed down the highway towards San Jose and the Silicon Valley. In about
three and a half hours we’ll be pulling off the highway and into Monterey. But
for now I’m just enjoying the vibrations between my thighs and the exhilarating
feeling of freedom on the open road that only a motorcycle can bring.

A half hour into the ride and my endorphins are singing
the praises of my man and his machine. I remember how we first met in that
hospital room when I stepped out in front of him while I was talking on my
phone to a client. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined riding down
to Monterey on the back of his bike, and in front of about two hundred other
bikes. The feeling of speeding down the roadway is exciting as it is scary at
times. All I have to do is just look down beneath my feet and see the yellow
stripes on the highway passing beneath in a blur and it reminds me of how
dangerous a motorcycle can be, especially on the hands of an amateur; which
Cade is certainly not. In fact his first and only motorcycle accident was
because of me. How ironic is that?

By the time we pull off the highway and into Monterey I
am more than ready to get off. Unfortunately the logistics of getting our
massive collection of bikers and our followers is not easily managed. We’re met
immediately by several dozen police officers both in cars, bicycles, and
motorcycles. I know they’re intent was to escort us to our destination without
us causing major traffic jams at the many intersections we will be passing
through. Pretty soon it becomes clear that their presence just causes an even
worse snarl in the quaint seaside town.

Chapter Seventeen
Sacrifice

The first thing I am aware of is a sharp ringing in my
ears and a splitting headache soon followed by brutal pain in both my
shoulders. I decide to stand up and stretch and that’s when I realize the full
extent of the trouble I seem to be in. I can’t stand. In fact I seem to be tied
to…to a chair. What the fuck is going on here? I open my eyes but its pitch
dark around me. I wiggle and squirm around trying to get some relief for my
shoulders and after a minute of struggling it’s clear that my arms and hands
are both bound behind me; probably to a chair. Next I try to move my legs
around but I’m not having much better luck in that department.

“Relax already. You struggling is just gonna make the
ropes even tighter.”

Fuck! I know that voice. As crazy as it sounds, I seem to
have been kidnapped along with Eddie. Of all the people in the world I could be
stuck in this fucked up situation with, I end up with Eddie the scumbag! I
cannot have built up that much fucked up karma in my lifetime, no freaking way!
However, he is probably right. My struggling seems to have just exacerbated the
problem.

“I’m sure there’s a perfectly plausible reason you’re
here Eddie, but it doesn’t make any sense for me to be here with you.”

“Very funny Gimp. By virtue of you being here with me
that immediately drops our odds of getting out asses out of here by a good
fifty percent.”

“Yeah, I highly doubt that!” I bark back.

“Oh really? Well why don’t you tell me what you bring to
the table here, in terms of abilities and experience you have that pertain to a
situation such as this one.”

“Very funny asshole very fucking funny.”

“Hey, I’m just calling it like I see it.”

“Well you’ve got a funny way of seeing it,” I reply.

“Look Gimp, me and you, we’re never gonna see anything
eye to eye so why don’t we both just shut our mouths unless it has to do with
our getting out of here.”

“Agreed.”

“So let’s take stock of our situation.” Eddie begins. He
sounds like this isn’t his first time being kidnapped. I bring it up but he denies
ever being in this situation before.

“Here’s what we need to do.” He says. “We need to see if
we can loosen these ropes enough so that one of us can break free eventually.”

“Mine feel pretty damn tight. I was kinda pulling on them
right after I woke up.”

“Well here’s what I want you to do. We might be tied
together with the same rope or we may be tied separately. If it’s the same rope
we may be able to work together to loosen the ropes for one of us. See if
there’s anything you can do to make yourself smaller. Suck your stomach in and
maybe use your feet to force yourself back into the chair. Even a quarter of an
inch I can work with. If whoever tied us is not used to doing this we may have
a chance here.”

“Okay…”

I take a deep breath and attempt to shrink myself into
the chair. I can feel him struggling behind me. What felt like rope burns a
minute ago suddenly becomes unbearable. I clench my teeth to keep from crying
out. When he finally stops struggling I have tears in my eyes. I don’t know
what the hell is happening to me. I have this huge blank spot in my mind. I
remember being at this party with the club and having people putting drinks in
my hand or passing me joints and me having to pass it along without partaking.
Then I’m waking up with a splitting headache and my shoulders on fire from my
hands being tied behind my back so tightly.

“Well?” I finally ask.

“I think I can eventually get one hand loose but it’s
gonna take some time.”

“I can guess why you’re here, but why me?”

“What do you mean you know why I’m here? What’s that
supposed to mean?”

“Well you’re the president of a biker club so…”

“And you’re the ex-president’s old lady so…”
