“That’s the best news ever!” she yelled, jumping up and hugging them both. She went back to the couch and took a seat between Chase and Brad, and looked at her parents, a grin lighting up her face. Her father frowned.

“So which of these young men has the honor of being your suitor, Aspen?” he asked. Aspen held Chase’s left hand and Brad’s right in hers. She took a deep breath.

“Well, it turns out that on that day, all those years ago, I wasn’t bitten by one wolf, but by two! So, I’m actually the destined mate of both of them.”

“And you know this for sure?” her father asked.

“Yup.” Aspen lifted Chase’s hand and pressed it against the scar on her arm. As had happened before, it glowed neon pink. Her parents watched in amazement. Then she pulled her boot off and pressed Brad’s hand to her ankle. The little scar there glowed brightly enough to be clearly visible through her pantyhose. “The bites only react to the one that bit me,” she explained.

“Wow!” they both said.

“Isn’t that something?” her father added. “I guess we didn’t notice the bite on your ankle, since we were so fixated on the one on your arm.

“I never noticed it either,” Aspen said, fingering it happily. “Until a couple of days ago.”

“Well, you’re a lucky girl, Aspen,” her mother said. “You’ve got what every woman would kill for!”

“Hey!” her father said, slapping her mother’s knee. “You saying I’m not enough for you?”

“Ew, gross, dad!” Aspen said.

“Sorry, honey,” he said, with a cough. “It just slipped out.”

“Well, this calls for a double celebration,” her mother cut in before he had a chance to say anything else. “It’s a good job we bought two bottles!” She cracked the champagne open and poured out six glasses.

“To Aspen and her two mates, Chase and Brad. And to our imminent move back to Gila!” They all clinked glasses and drank a toast to the future.

“I’m sorry about mom and dad. They say some weird stuff sometimes,” Aspen said later that night, as she snuggled in between Brad and Chase. Her family had just gone to bed and she’d snuck out to the greenhouse where they had a mattress laid out. Her mother couldn’t understand why they’d chosen to sleep out there, but they said they loved being under the stars. There was that, and the fact that there was also more chance they’d be able to make love to Aspen undisturbed than if they’d been sleeping in the living room.

“You’re parents are great,” Chase said, wrapping his arms around her. “They’ve been so welcoming.”

“Especially considering what they’ve had to come to terms with,” Brad said, kissing her neck. “And don’t worry – it’ll be way easier meeting our families – they’ve been dying to meet you ever since we first got our teeth into you!”

Aspen looked up at the stars and grinned. She couldn’t wait to move back to Gila and get introduced to their packs.
