Writing is the hardest work I’ve ever done and
also the most exciting. Many writers helped me along the way: my mother,
Barbara Blair, who encouraged me in everything I’ve done and is now happily
writing her own stories; my late father, Bill Legg, whose zest for life taught
me to live; Lee Davis, the first to show me the meaning of “show, don’t tell;”
my grandfather, Wilbur Blair, who questioned logic in each line I wrote; Gene
Legg, for showing up during the hardest time in my own story; and my four very
different brothers (Blair, Bryce, Baughan and Brae) for four very different
reasons; Mollie Gregory for her brutal wisdom, caring critique and important
suggestions; Mike Sager for the nuggets of writing wisdom he has generously
given through the years; Harriet Greene for following the threads; Marty
Goldman for redirecting several scenes; mostly to Roanne Lewis, whose poetry of
such beauty and deep meaning inspires me; and finally Teakki, who patiently
waited while I wrote, instead of playing cars and trucks.

About the Author

Brandt Legg was a child prodigy who, after the
tragic loss of his father and crippling migraine headaches, turned an interest
in stamp collecting into a multi-million dollar business empire. By eighteen,
the high-flying Legg, known to the media as the “Teen Tycoon,” became ensnarled
in the financial whirlwind of the junk bond eighties, lost his entire
fortune . . . and ended up serving time in federal prison for
financial improprieties. Legg emerged, chastened and wiser, one year later and
began anew in retail and real estate. From there his life adventures have led
him through magazine publishing, newspaper writing, FM radio (behind the mic
and in the business office), and music production, including CDs and concerts.
Outview is the first book of his Inner Movement trilogy. For more information,
