“You’re so fucking hot. I want to fuck you until I can’t walk anymore.”

She gave him a flirty grin. “Do it. Don’t stop until neither of us can walk.”

That was all the incentive he needed. He pulled back almost to the point where he was fully out of her body. Then he rammed her hard with his cock.

“Yes!” Her moans of pleasure heightened his desire. Approval sounded in her words as she whimpered with every drive of his cock into her sleek, hot sex. Her vaginal walls gripped his dick in a silken, tight hold.

Beads of sweat formed on his back and upper lip. Temperatures rose as perspiration allowed for faster slides of flesh on flesh. He pounded furiously into her, as if it were the last time he’d get into her body. He fastened his lips on to a berry tight nipple and sucked down hard.

“Oh, my God!” Her pussy fluttered and tightened until he was fighting the stronghold to thrust and withdraw as she came.

“Fuck!”

Her muscles clenched and pulled on his cock, further enhancing his bliss. A lightning flash of pleasure rushed through him. With a groan and a curse, he came hard, grinding his hips into her clit and grunting in satisfaction. Jerking in wild spurts, he filled her womb with his seed until he was completely drained.

Shit, he’d been so involved in getting inside her he’d forgone the condom. He
never
forgot a condom.

“Chris?”

“Hmm?”

Brushing red strands away from her face, he looked into her lust-clouded eyes. “I’m sorry. I forgot to wear a condom.”

“Oh.” She stared at him for a long silent moment and then widened her eyes at the implication. “
Oh.
Don’t worry. I’m on the pill, and I’m safe. I stay on top of being tested and I’ve never been with anyone without a condom before.” She lifted her brows as she waited for his response.

No way in hell would he say what was really running through his mind—that he was the first man to get into her sweet body without anything in the way, and there would be no others.

“I’m safe too. I’ve always used a condom.” He looked toward the door. “We need to get out of here. There’s been some commotion in the entrance. Apparently, you’re not the only reporter dying to know what goes on in one of the Seduction Parties.” Her guilty flush made him feel like an ass. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that to sound like an accusation.”

“It’s all right. I know I messed up by coming here. Maybe if I’d listened to you, my ass wouldn’t have been displayed to all those people.”

If she hadn’t shown up, he wouldn’t have gotten her into his bed, and he definitely wouldn’t have gotten into her delicious body. He was glad she’d gone against his commands.

“Don’t worry about that. By tomorrow it will be old news. I’m not the first or the only person to hold these. They go by different names, but lots of wealthy people have these parties.”

She cocked her head and furrowed her brow at the information.

He stood. Curling one arm under her legs, he swiftly lifted her into his arms. She slid her hands around his neck in a loose hold. He enjoyed the feel of her soft limbs surrounding him. The sexy smile she gave him was enough indication of where her thoughts had strayed. His dick swelled. As he walked toward the bathroom, he realized leaving may well have to wait a little longer.

“What the hell is this?” He got out of his car and looked at her blue hybrid. The windshield had been cracked with something and now sported a small, circular hole. The vehicle hung low thanks to four punctured tires.

He scanned the area, looking for someone to blame for the damage. Anger and concern warred inside him. The powerful feelings turned his mind into a battlefield. He had to figure out how to fix this and ensure her safety. He might have been able to let it go as a teenage prank if it hadn’t been for the
nosy bitch
spray-painted in white on the side.

“Oh, come on. I don’t have time for this crap.” Although she sounded aggravated, she didn’t really sound surprised. That in itself was enough to concern him.

Walking around his car, he opened her door and helped her out. She peered into her driver’s side and then unlocked the door.

“What are you doing? We have to call the police.” He was going to strangle her. Was she deliberately trying to get hurt? Glass was everywhere.

She rolled her eyes and gave him a cheeky grin. “Relax, it’s no big deal. This is just some idiot I pissed off trying to scare me. Unfortunately for him, I don’t scare easy.” She leaned into the car and her sexy ass wiggled in her jeans when she reached for something.

After they left the mansion, they’d returned to the hotel to get her stuff. By the time she’d changed and checked out, it was already midmorning.

Stepping back, she pulled out a rock covered with a piece of paper. A triumphant smile slid across her lips. God save him from a woman with a death wish. She handed the rock to him. Their gazes met and held. Possession roared to life inside him. If someone was harassing her, he’d take care of it. Nobody would hurt her, ever.

“Call the police and do a report with your insurance while I take a look at this.” Apparently, it was too much to ask for her to follow his lead. He should’ve known that wasn’t going to work.

Folding her arms over her chest, she raised a questioning eyebrow and didn’t move. “Hurry up and open it so we can see what it says. I’m not going to faint in fright so get on with it.”

The paper was held over the stone with a rubber band. Once snapped, it easily came loose and off the baseball-sized rock.

WRITE THE SEDUCTION PARTY STORY AND YOU
WILL
REGRET IT.

Silence reigned for a long moment.

“That was a nice touch there with the glued words. Nowadays, most people just print stuff out. Gluing words has gone extinct in current stalking tactics. Oh look, they used a red marker to underline
will
.”

Alarm crowded his brain and made it hard to breathe. She wasn’t going to take the situation seriously. How often did she get these threats that she no longer worried? He was damn worried for her.

She pulled out her phone and called the police and her insurance company.

He knew she would need some sort of protection. Her safety was priority. There was no way he’d leave her to run around with some person gunning for her. Without a stalker she was reckless enough; with someone on her ass she’d end up dead in a few days.

Chapter Five

“Well, that’s it. If there’s anything else we need, we’ll call you.” After a quick handshake, the police officer left her front yard.

A rental would be delivered tomorrow and all would go back to normal. The worry in Drex’s eyes made her feel bad for him. Poor guy. He probably wasn’t used to getting threats. Although he was wealthy, he pretty much kept to himself and his businesses. Being in the public eye meant he got paparazzi attention, but he kept them at a distance. This was not the first time she’d gotten a threat thanks to her job, and it wouldn’t be the last. It was a daily event for most reporters, and she didn’t let it get to her. She worked for a reputable newspaper that had recently gotten a huge investment and upgrade into the digital media age. Everything they did was online, and that meant a lot of people read her articles. She pulled out her cell phone and sent texts to her two research assistants on the Seduction Party.

When she finished the text, she turned to Drex. “Relax. I’m sure it’s not as bad as whatever it is you’re thinking.”

“If you would’ve been in that car, you could’ve been hurt. Someone has a problem with you writing about the Seduction Party.” Waves of anger radiated off him.

“Yeah, well, think about it. There were about a hundred super rich, super famous movie stars and politicians in your little human orgy. Don’t you think one of them recognized me without my mask on? I’m sure once they see I name no one in particular they’ll let it go. Anyway, go home. I’m tired and need sleep.” What she really wanted to do was ask him to stay with her, but she would never push a man like him in that direction. He was the definition of “no strings attached.”

“Why don’t I—”

She shook her head and cut him off. “Let it go. I’m fine. I’m tired and I’m about to go inside and get my ass into bed.” If he didn’t leave soon, she’d beg him to come to bed with her.

For a moment she thought he might debate with her and ask to come inside the house. Instead, he curled a hand around the back of her neck, twined his fingers into her hair, and pulled her forward. He kissed her with so much hunger and passion her eyes glazed over. He delved his tongue into her mouth and pursued compliance. She whimpered and threw herself into the kiss with abandon.

Just as quickly as it started, he ended it. He pulled back and looked deep into her eyes. His dark aqua had turned a stormy blue. “Go inside and shut the door. I’ll call you later and we’ll go to dinner.”

As great as it sounded to see him again, she needed some space. Her head shook in a quick negative and his eyes narrowed.

“I have to write the outline of my article while things are still fresh in my mind. If you want to, we can have dinner tomorrow. I really need to write today—I’m sorry.” She nibbled on her lip and gazed up at him.

A terse nod was his only response. A moment later, he brushed his lips over hers. He guided her to her door and watched and waited until she’d shut and locked it.

Gulping at the knot in her throat, she glanced through the peephole and watched him head for his car. He studied her door for a moment before the engine roared to life and he drove off.

She gave a shaky sigh.

* * *

A painful crick in her shoulder made her wince and rub the back of her neck. What time was it? She lifted her tired eyes to the clock on the wall.

Her cell phone beeped next to her. A message. It was one of her research assistants at the newspaper.

Wanted to let you know I got some shots from a person who managed to smuggle a camera into the Seduction Party. Are you interested?

She wasn’t going to show photos of anyone in her article. She replied in a panic, fumbling over the tiny keys.

No! Lord, no
.

She typed her response and hit the send button.

A response came back right away.

Are you sure? I thought you wanted photos if we could get some.

She bit her lip and worked her stiff fingers over the phone keys.

Yes, I’m sure and, no, I don’t want any! No shots. I got my own angle for this. We’ll talk tomorrow
.

She took a breath and sighed. Thank God her research assistants were so reliable.

It was almost midnight, and she hadn’t had anything to eat. She saved her story on a flash drive and took it with her when she headed toward the kitchen.

She thought of her earlier conversation with Lacey. Apparently, the blonde had found herself a man. All Chris had been able to get out of her was that she’d had a fantastic time and that she’d done exactly what she’d set out to do, enjoy herself and prove she was not boring.

She placed the flash drive in a drawer and opened her refrigerator door. The sad contents made her pout. Damn, she was really hungry. With a sigh she reverted to her usual snack, cheddar cheese and a bag of crackers. Not nearly enough for the hunger pangs she was suffering. A Chinese menu on the freezer door caught her attention, and
24-hour delivery
in bold print made her smile. Jackpot.

She took a shower while she waited for her food to arrive. The hot water dissipated the aches her body had suffered from the long hours on her computer and the incredible night in Drex’s arms.

She got out of the shower and her cell phone rang. In a mad dash, she ran for her cell, struggling to wrap a towel around herself and not slip on the wet floor. By the time she answered the call, she was panting. Why was she going all crazy to get to her phone? Because she hoped it was Drex calling. A quick look and she knew the caller was only her brother.

She put the device on speaker and dried her body. “Hello?”

“What are you still doing up, brat?”

She rolled her eyes at the pet name and put on her cotton short set pajamas and a robe. “None of your business.”

“I see you’re still acting your shoe size.”

Flashing her tongue at the phone in a childish gesture, she giggled when she realized how silly she was acting. Cole gave a tired sigh over the line.

“What are you all huffing and puffing about?”

“I understand you showed up at the party last night. You might have seen stuff you weren’t prepared to see. I feel compelled to explain—”

“Cole, I was there for my article, and I ended up spending the night with Drex.”

“Drex?” Uh-oh. The roar on the other end of the line should’ve told her to end the conversation quickly. “What do you mean you spent the night with Drex?”

“Nothing, nothing. He actually helped me when I found myself in a binding situation. I stayed in his room.”

“What the hell did you do in his room? Did he touch you?”

Oh, for the love of life! The things he’d done were much too amazing to describe as mere touching. But it’d be a frozen day in hell before she told Cole that. “Nothing. I swear he only did what I asked him to do.” She grinned. Yeah, and she’d asked for quite a lot.

The doorbell had her sprinting toward the living room with her phone in her ear.

“What?” He growled.

“God damn it! Stop yelling in my ear. I’m a grown woman and can do as I please. And where the hell is my wallet?”

The doorbell sounded again, adding to her frustration.

She dumped all the contents of her bag on the table. There it was, slippery little sucker. “Like I was saying, I’m a grown woman—”

She pulled the door open expecting to see the food delivery person. Not checking the peephole would turn out to be a big mistake. A man dressed in black, wearing a ski mask hit and shoved her at the same time. A loud scream tore from her throat as his big, beefy fist made a beeline for her face. She took a step back trying to run from the hits, but he made a cracking connection with the side of her jaw. Pain exploded across her face. Tears filled her eyes, and she whimpered in pain.
