We stood still for a moment, close but not touching.

I straightened my top and Jake grabbed his belt loops to pull his jeans up, all the while our eyes were still locked together.

I finally broke the silence. "I had fun tonight, Jake. Thanks."

"Me, too. Wanna try it again tomorrow?"

No, I wanted to try it tonight! I want to try it…right…effing, now!

"You mean go out again?"

"What'd you think I meant, pretty girl?" His wicked smile told me he knew
exactly
what direction my mind had gone at his question.

"Yeah, I'd like that." My voice sounded calm on the outside.

On the inside? My brain was screaming, Yes, for God's sake, Please!

"Same time?"

I nodded, not trusting that I could hold back my internal squeals of delight if I opened my mouth.

I went with him to the door and received a sweet, hard but short kiss.

"Be good, Darlin'."

"Later, Jake."

It took me hours to get to sleep that night.

*.*.*.*.*

Jake turned back as he was getting into his car and glanced at Caitlin's windows. What he saw had him chuckling and leaning on his opened car door as he watched. There she was, his girl, silhouetted against the sheer curtains, her arms lifted above her head, making 'metal horns' as she yelled, "Score!" loud enough to be heard on the street, before she started dancing around her apartment in obvious glee. He was still chuckling as he made his way home seeing the image of her happy dance of joy.

It took Jake hours to get to sleep that night.

Chapter Seven

Jake was functioning on auto-pilot as he drove to Caitlin's house the next night.

While he maneuvered the car through the streets with calm efficiency, his mind was, as it had been over the last few hours, in knots. How was he going to keep himself from dragging all that clean sweetness, all that beauty to the floor and fuckin' her 'til she couldn't walk when she did something innocent, say, like just openin' the fuckin' door?

It took everything he had last night just to walk out and leave her with just a swollen mouth.

But, fuck, that mouth. The feel of her in his arms. Her mouth on his.

Help me, he thought, totally meaning it as a prayer.

He had even had to use his fist on himself fuckin' twice before he could even
think
about sleep.

Part of it he knew was because he had seen her almost-naked and had the memories of her unclad curves. Her body was made for a man's hands with her pert, full breasts, deeply indented waist and round, quivering ass.

Even her smell, God, thinking about the aroma of her arousal could send him right over the edge.

Luckily, last night he only got the barest whiff of it or he would've come undone. Although, he almost had when she had innocently, hesitantly, taken over the kiss and used his own moves on him. Jake didn't think he had ever been kissed like that. In fact, he knew he hadn't.

He had left her knowing that she wanted him, that she would've spread herself for him if he had made the slightest move, had given the slightest indication.

And he wanted to, fuck, how he wanted to.

But he meant what he said.

He really did want to go slow with her.

Although, he didn't know how long he was going to be able to hold the fuck out. Especially after catchin' her doin' her happy dance of joy. Over him. God, over
him
.

First time he'd done this, a second date. But then, on second thought, he hadn't really been on that many
first
dates either. Trollin' had been his style, walkin' through a club,
any
club and takin' his pick of any female that he found appealin', that caught his fancy.

And they never said no.

But they were never around when he woke up the next day as either he left her place or made goddamn sure that she vacated his place at the earliest possible moment when the festivities were through.

But he wanted a second date with Caitlin. Just wanted to be with her.

"This place really has the best burgers in town?" Caitlin asked as she looked around the diner attached to Greatway Lanes, the local bowling alley.

"Best I've tasted. Noisy as hell but…" Jake shrugged.

Their conversation didn't flow like it had the night before.

Both of them were too aware of each other, their eyes catching and skidding away only to come back to catch again. Jake found himself watching her movements, the way she gestured when she talked, how she fiddled with the paper placemat and the cutlery still wrapped in its napkin when she paused to think before answering.

She had worn her hair in a ponytail tonight and Jake wanted to release it, run his hand through the length of it, feel the heavy slide of it through his fingers. The casual touches of yesterday were gone as well. Every graze of their fingers, even just innocently bumping shoulders, seemed to stall their words.

He probably shouldn't have sat next to her like he had last night but he wanted her near, close. He tried putting an arm on the back of the booth and a blush moved up her face.

Christ, he knew exactly where on her body her blushes were first visible and he wanted, needed to place his lips there.

Caitlin leaned closer, tucking her shoulder under his arm while whispering, "Are you as uncomfortable as I am?"

Jake turned his head and tucked his chin to press his forehead against hers.

"Sure am, pretty girl."

"Good," she announced.

"Good?"

"Sure. Haven't you ever heard that misery loves company?" Her lips played with a smile.

Jake dropped his arm from the back of the booth to lay it across her shoulders. "You miserable, Cait?"

She seemed to take a minute and a deep breath before she spoke.

"No, not miserable," her head gently moved side to side, her forehead sliding against his to add emphasis to her words. She kept her head in contact with his, moving the side of her head, her cheek skimming his before reaching until her mouth touched his ear.

"I can't wait to be with you, Jake," she breathed.

Holy fuck! Now what was he supposed to do?

Their eyes captured and fused as his fingers moved and slowly pulled the elastic from her hair, allowing it the freedom to fall to her shoulders, down her back, and through his fingers. Jake felt his breathe catch at her gasp as he worked his fingers underneath its heavy fall to touch, stroke and felt the resounding pulse in his groin. He watched as she slowly closed her eyes and pressed her head back against his hand.

"Caitlin? Hey, honey, I thought it was you."

Caitlin poked her head around Jake and found Marianne standing at the counter. "Hey, Marianne, what's going on?"

Jake didn't know how he knew the cute blonde waving at Caitlin, but he knew her from somewhere, at some time. She turned back to the counter to place her order and sauntered over to the table.

"You guys having fun?" She asked her eyes on Caitlin, before moving to Jake as she leaned against the banquette. "Hi, Mr. Stanton."

"You know each other?" Caitlin asked glancing first at Jake and then at Marianne.

"He owns the accounting firm where I work," Marianne explained.

Ah, so that's how he knew her. Jake let out an inaudible sigh, happy that he only knew her in a
business
sense.

"You two going to bowl, or what?" Marianne asked. Her knowledge of Jake Stanton's personal life was nil. "We've got a little competition going that's three on three but we can add fourths if you guys are interested."

Jake's turned back to Caitlin again with the one eyebrow raised. "Your choice, babe."

"Think we'll pass," Caitlin said to Marianne, but her eyes were caught on Jake's. "Maybe another time."

"Wise decision. None of us bowled over a hundred the first game," Marianne admitted on a laugh. She turned back towards the counter. "My orders up. Got to go before the natives get restless!"

As soon as Marianne left, their orders of burgers and fries were ready and Jake sauntered up to the counter to get them.

He was right.

That was the best burger Cait had ever tasted.

The windows were completely covered in steam from the hot and heavy breathing in Jake's car, parked on the street outside Cait's apartment. They had been at it for a good twenty minutes and Jake was sure that their body temperatures had contributed to the fog of his now opaque car windows.

"Okay, pretty girl. Know you like playing follow the leader." Jake's voice was a gruff, panting, heavy whisper. "We'll alternate moves. I'll do something to you and you do the same thing back, yeah?"

"Wha'?" Caitlin's eyes were at half-mast and her breathing was heavy and deep. His girl was too excited to listen to him, to understand what he was saying.

When the kissing first started, they were each in their own seats. But unlike the night before, the kisses were anything but slow right from the get-go. They were hungry. Their mouths came together with heat; deep, wet, seeking, finding. Their hands clutched, pulled, releasing then grabbing to get closer, closest.

From the time he had cut the ignition and she had turned towards him, their mouths had fused and had refused to let go. Never stopping their tongue play for even a second, neither one of them was aware of Jake snagging Cait by her arm-pits and pulling her across the console to straddle his lap.

But Jake needed to slow things down. He didn't want their first time to be in a car. There were too many memories of his sex conquests from high school done in a car to make this special with her. For her.

But, he fuckin' wanted her, to sink himself root deep inside her.

He needed to cool things off, get back in his head instead zeroing in on getting into her body.

But, fuck, her body.

Her knees and thighs were hugging him tightly as she straddled him. Her breasts were glued to his chest and the little movements of her hips bucking, of rubbing against the fullness in his groin was driving him crazy.

And the sounds, oh God, the sexy little mewls when her rubbing connected to what he knew was her sweet spot.

His hands were on her ass, gripping her firm cheeks. It was all he could do not to pull her harder against him. To shove his hips upward and let the seam of her jeans provide the friction to send her over the edge. But he didn't want her jeans to give her relief. If Caitlin was gonna come then, by God, it would come from his fingers, his cock or his mouth and not a fuckin' seam.
