Chapter One

Catrina Carter gazed up at the nondescript
building. A small sign read “Debt Management Associates”. Such an
innocuous name, considering what the company did.

One night, over a glass of wine—or possibly
three glasses —she had been complaining about her money problems to
her friend Meghan, and Meghan had recommended she try out this
place. After another glass Meghan had admitted she’d been in the
program a few years before and since then her ability to control
her spending had been stellar. Catrina was instantly intrigued and
asked her friend more about it but all Meghan, her face bright red,
would say was, “Make an appointment. They’ll explain it there.”

But Catrina hadn’t taken that for an answer
and finally, after plying her with a fifth glass of wine, Meghan,
in slurred speech, had admitted everything. Catrina had been
appalled. Surely her friend was making up tales after having had so
much to drink? But it didn’t seem that way, the more Meghan talked.
No way would Catrina go that route. It was disgusting and
degrading.

Then, the very next day, she’d been served
with a shut-off notice for both her gas and electric, along with a
90-days late notice on one of her eight credit cards. When she’d
checked her bank balance online she’d verified what she’d feared.
Her account was overdrawn. She wasn’t slated to be paid until nine
days later, and then her rent and car payment were due.

Even if she could’ve paid the gas and
electric with a credit card, none of them had much available space
on them. Her gut twisted as she realized she’d well and truly done
it. There was no way to get out of a mess like this unless she had
help. With her heart in her throat, Catrina had called the number
Meghan provided, given them Meghan’s name as a referral, and now
had an appointment to meet with Raoul, whose job title, strangely
enough, was “trainer”.

She knocked on the door. It was opened after
a moment and, after verifying her identity, Catrina was hustled
inside by a tall, serious-looking man several years older than
herself. A moment later a stocky man, closer to her age, with olive
skin and dark hair appeared. Raoul, if her guess was right.

I can’t believe I’m doing this.
Catrina knew damn well she had little choice at this point, but it
didn’t make the bitter pill any easier to swallow.

Raoul jerked his head toward the hallway
from which he’d appeared. “Come with me.”

Dispensing with niceties, it would seem.

He brought her to a small office with a desk
and a guest chair directly in front of it, along with a large
ottoman, side cabinet and a couch shoved into various corners of
the room. Raoul motioned her to the chair and she sat, smoothing
down the skirt she’d been ordered to wear. She supposed they wanted
to give off a professional vibe, though considering what they did
professional wasn’t the first word that sprang to Catrina’s mind.
Seating himself behind the desk, Raoul spared her a quick glance
before opening a file folder in front of him.

“Catrina.” His voice was deep, and already
she was squirming. “You have a problem. A very
big
problem,
if your information is factual.”

She stared at the floor, her face hot as she
fought tears. “Yes.”

“And you’d like us to help you out with
it.”

“Yes.” Catrina barely got the word out and
took a deep breath as soon as she’d managed to utter it.

“What was that, girl?”

Girl?

“Yes, I’d like you to help me,” she
whispered.

“Look at me when you speak.”

Her gaze shot up. “What?”

Raoul’s eyebrows rose. “Didn’t you hear
me?”

“Of course I did. I looked up.”

“Then why did you say ‘what?’ as if you
didn’t? And that tone’s not very respectful.”

What does he want me to say?

“Um, I’m not sure what you mean.”

“You will call me sir.”

“Oh. Okay, sir.”

“Now then, let’s talk about your debt.
According to your paperwork, you currently owe slightly less than
one hundred fifty thousand in unsecured consumer debt.” He
whistled. “That’s a lot of money, girl.”

“Yes, sir.”

“We can help, but it won’t be easy for you.”
He sat back. “Are you prepared to accept the consequences of your
actions?”

That sounded ominous, but Catrina had
expected no less. She really had no choice here; she needed their
help, no matter how difficult the program was. “Yes, sir, I
am.”

“You know how the program works?” He glanced
back down to the folder. “Meghan explained it.”

“Sort of.”

“I’ll be blunt then, so as not to waste
either of our time if you aren’t prepared to do as we say. Meghan
was in our program for three months. You would be required to
participate for a period of one year.”

Catrina’s mouth fell open. “But—”

“No buts, girl. You’re in a load of trouble.
Did you honestly think we’d wipe out that much debt and only
require you to serve three months?”

“I-I don’t know. Sir.”
A year?
Oh,
God. I feel sick.

“A year, girl. Twelve months.
After
your training is complete and you’ve gotten a benefactor.”

Fuck.
She hung her head and nodded.
Then, when he said nothing, she added, “Yes, sir.”

“During that time, you’d be required to
serve your benefactor in whatever way he requires. Look at me,”
Raoul snapped. “Your benefactor, by the way, in case Meghan didn’t
explain it, would be the man who agrees to pay your debt and
therefore will be who you’ll owe your service to.”

What a nice way to put this whole thing.

Raoul went on as if they were discussing the
weather, not the undoubtedly horrifying ordeal she’d be placing
herself in shortly if she agreed to this crazy scheme.
Like I
have a choice.
“You’d be in training with me for a period of
two weeks and your auction, if we feel you’re ready, will happen at
the end of the training term. Your benefactor would take immediate
possession. You will live with him for the year, and then you’ll be
free to go back to your own life, debt-free. Do you understand so
far?”

“Yes, sir.”

“You are expected to be completely available
to your benefactor. That means you won’t be working. However, you
will complete some financial management courses under the guidance
of your benefactor. After all, we don’t want repeat offenders
here.”

Catrina nodded, feeling her manicured nails
biting into the skin of her palms as they fisted on her lap. Could
she do this? The words “no way out” boomeranged around in her
head.

Raoul pulled a sheaf of papers from the
folder. “This is our contract. It’s been tailored to you and your
particular situation. Read it. I’ll be back in a little while.” He
stood, handed her the contract, and then left.

Sweat trickled down the back of Catrina’s
neck, though it wasn’t warm in the room. She turned her attention
to the contract. Again, so innocuous-looking. Her stomach churned.
Things didn’t get better as she read.

After a short time, Raoul returned and
resumed his seat behind the massive mahogany desk. “Did you read
the entire contract?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Did you understand everything?”

“Yes, sir.”

“You learn quickly. The benefactors will
like that. It’ll help you on auction day.”

Auction day…

He motioned for the contract. “We’ll go over
everything before you sign it.”

Catrina handed it over and Raoul turned his
attention to it. “You understand exactly what ‘servicing your
benefactor’ means?” Her face heated and she started to look at the
floor again. “Eyes on me,” he snapped. “You understand that your
body would not be your own? That your benefactor will have
essentially purchased the right to use you as he sees fit?”

“Yes, sir.”

“With your amount of debt, as I said, things
won’t be easy for you. As part of your agreement with your
benefactor, you would be expected to not only service his needs,
but those of anyone else he commands.
Anyone.
” He tilted his
head. “Again, I’m going to be blunt. We want no misunderstandings.
Your benefactor will have the choice to fuck any hole he wants,
whenever and wherever he wants to. That, of course, means in
private
or
in public, barring anything that could get the
both of you arrested.”

Wouldn’t want that. God, how embarrassing
would that be?
Catrina sighed.
Probably not as bad as other
things that’ll happen to you.

Raoul continued. “And he can share you with
his friends, colleagues, and even total strangers—any part of
you—as he desires. And just so you know, at this debt level, he
probably will. The milder benefactors generally don’t reach the
level where they’re willing to deal with someone like you.” Raoul
folded his meaty arms over his chest.

Catrina pressed a hand to her stomach. This
wasn’t happening. A voice inside her head mocked her.
Yes, it
is, because you couldn’t control your spending. You had to have it
all.

“Your benefactor, at the time he purchases
you, will pay the entire sum of your debt to us and we, in turn,
will pay your creditors so the debt doesn’t get worse while you
serve your term. If you do not finish your term you’ll be
responsible for paying your benefactor back. We will also arrange
for the delivery of your furniture and other personal items to a
storage locker for a year. At the end of your term, we’ll assist
you in finding an apartment and getting everything moved back in,
as well as obtaining new employment, as you’ll begin training
immediately and will need to quit your current position. Do you
understand?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Good. Now we need to go over a few things
as far as your experience goes.”

“Experience?”

“Sexually speaking.”

“Oh,” she pretty much squeaked out.

“Again, I’m going to be blunt. Have you
sucked cock before?”

“Uh, yes.”

“It doesn’t matter if you’ve had vaginal sex
because that’s off the table. No benefactor wants to get a girl
pregnant, especially not one with problems similar to yours. Most
of them would never chance it even with appropriate
protection.”

“Geez, I get it.” Catrina huffed and Raoul
frowned. “Sorry, sir.”

“Have you had anal sex?”

“No.”

“Good. That’ll help on auction day too.
Benefactors love anal virgins.”

Catrina was pretty sure she didn’t want to
know the reasoning behind that. Raoul moved on.

“Have you been spanked before, either as a
child or an adult?”

As an adult?

“No. Sir.”

“Huh. All right then. You need to be aware
that nearly all the benefactors, particularly at your level, use
spanking and other punishments to correct and form your
behavior.”

Catrina was about to self-combust.
Other
punishments? What the hell does that mean?

As if he could read her mind, Raoul said,
“Examples of other punishments might be corner time, anal
punishments such as the insertion of large dildos or plugs, the use
of nipple clamps, and a variety of other things.” A ghost of a
smile appeared. “Our benefactors can be very creative.”
