He had bought the tickets before travelling to Kenya.

Tina was excited beyond words. She jumped up and down like an adolescent teenager. Tina called her siblings into the room and broke the good news. They were all happy, apart from the youngest of them all
who was quick to ask 'sasa ukituacha nani atanipikia uji?'(if you leave us, who will cook my porridge). They all burst into laughter. She assured him that she would get him a nanny to cook his porridge just like she did.

When time came for the two love birds to leave, they called the taxi driver who took them to the airport. Tina's siblings accompanied them to the airport together with the new nanny. It was an emotional goodbye as Tina promised her younger siblings that she would be back soon. She promised that after they finished their high school
education, she would relocate all of them to France.

Chapter Ten

Ted and his fiancée were tired from the flight. They slept through their first day together in the French city of Paris. The next day, he told Tina that he wanted to introduce her to his parents. He however warned her not to mention anything about her past to any of his family members.

He once again chose Sunday dinner as the best time for the introduction. They arrived on time to find Ted's mother waiting for them at the door. She gave them a warm welcome as she hugged her son and her daughter-in law to be.

Ted's father was seated at his favorite spot on the dining table, but was less enthusiastic than his wife with his greetings. All of Ted's younger siblings were at the table. Everyone seemed to love Tina apart from the father. After dinner, they had desert before Ted called for everyone's attention. He formally introduced his fiancée to his family before giving everyone a chance to say a word or two.

His younger siblings didn't have much to say and so did his mother. His father stood and looked his son in the eye. 'You are a grown man Ted. You are fully capable of making your own decisions. We have talked about this before and I hope you respect my opinion as your father.'

Ted stood and thanked his father. Before taking a seat, he added, 'What Tina and I have is true love, which is not easy to find. I hope you will respect my decision as your son even if you may have your reservations. Tina did not have much to say. She thanked Ted's family for accepting her into the family and proceeded to take her seat.

On their way back to Ted's house, they ran into Heidi in the company of a tall dark African man. She introduced him as her fiancée as Ted introduced Tina as his fiancée as well. Ted went ahead to congratulate Heidi on noticing that she was pregnant. She went ahead and informed Ted that Pierre had overdosed on pills a few weeks back and was no longer alive.

They exchanged goodbyes and parted ways. Ted wanted to show his fiancée how beautiful the Eiffel tower looked at night. Upon arrival, he grabbed her by the hand and led her to the right foot of the tower. He looked her straight in the eye, smiled, and told her in French 'Je t'aimerai toujours'….. I will always love you…
