Paco said he had found some information I needed to know about the girl, and that he had to tell me as soon as possible. Since I was in Maryland on business, I decided to meet him in the parking lot in Greenbelt where they were holding a carnival. Paco showed up ten minutes after I pulled up and had a box of popcorn in his hand that pissed me off. I was here to talk business not fuck around.

“How was Mexico?” He asked sliding into my car. Kevin stood outside to make sure no one would walk up on me. While Antony stayed behind the driver’s seats. Kids ran all around Kevin outside. “And how’s Rick?”

“Everything is everything. What about the news I needed you to get for me?”

“I found out who the girl is.”

“Who is she?”

“Her name is Jayden Phillips.” He said throwing a few kernels in his mouth.

Irritated because I recognized the last name, I grabbed the box out of his hand, rolled my window down and threw it out.

“So she’s Harmony’s daughter?” I said rolling the window back up.

Paco seemed mad but saved face. “Yeah…And they live at Concord Manor.”

“Concord Manor Mansion? In Fort Washington?”

“Yeah.”

“How she get back there?”

“I couldn’t find out, but she lives there. My source also said they saw some dude and a bitch in a wheel chair going in and out of the house, too. But they don’t know who they are. What you want me to do?”

Silence.

“Nothing. I got to check some shit out first. Don’t let anybody know that they’re there.”

Kali said he stayed in a mansion. But there was no way she would let him live with her after what he did to her.

“You know that ain’t even in the talk.”

“Keep it that way.” I told him. “Is your boy still seeing her?”

“I think so. As a matter of fact, I think he put her up in a hotel somewhere out Maryland. They seem to be getting serious.”
“Do you know which hotel?”
He seemed hesitant to give me any information at first, but he knew better than to keep it from me, too.
“Yeah…She at the Holiday Inn out Laurel, Maryland.” He paused. “You want me to tell Shaggy to leave her alone?”

I thought about what Kali said about him and Kreshon fucking Harmony. And how they could possibly be the father of Harmony’s daughters. If Paco did do me wrong, and fucked Harmony, and it turned out his son was fucking his own sister that would be on Paco not me. But if it turned out that Jayden was my daughter, I’d have to decide if I wanted to kill Paco instead.

“Naw. He seems to like her a lot, and I want to keep shit quiet right now.” I paused. “But I’m ‘bout to roll. I’ll holla at you later.”

“One.” Paco said giving me a pound.

When he left I knew I had to finally see Harmony again. I told people she stole from me because I wanted them to think that was the reason I wanted her. Truth was, I never got over her and I wanted to know about my kids. But if she was back with Kali, I may have to leave both of them for dead.

Not So Friendly High

Jayden

Jayden stepped into Friendly High School looking fly. She had a Gucci bag which hung from her arm, diamond earrings in her ears and a silk blouse on her back. Shaggy had definitely looked out for her. Still, he always made it known that they were not together. He had lots of girls he fucked on the side, and didn’t want people thinking the wrong thing about them. So they both agreed that she would act as if she didn’t know him when she saw him in the halls. And she had so much on her mind that she didn’t care. Besides, he put her up in a hotel, kept her fresh and let her have her own space. To top it all off, he still didn’t get no pussy and she was quite the virgin. So what more could she ask for?

When Jayden walked to her locker, she looked a little further down the hall and saw her sister Madjesty. A group of girls surrounded her and they pointed at the same thrift store dress Jayden saw her in when the caseworker was at the mansion. Jayden felt terribly when she looked at herself and than her sister’s clothes.

Going to her rescue, she rushed down the hall and pushed one of the girls confronting Madjesty. When Jayden looked at the girl she pushed, she saw Toni, the same girl she had a problem with at McDonalds.

“I swear, I can’t shake this bitch if I tried.” Toni said pushing Jayden back.

“Leave my sister alone!” Jayden said. “You always fuckin’ with somebody!”

“Jayden, stay out of it!” Madjesty said. “I can fight my own battle.”

“No!” Jayden told her. “She shouldn’t be fuckin’ with you! I had a problem with her when we first moved here from Texas.” Now a huge crowd surrounded them.

“If this is your sister, how come you got her lookin’ a hot ass mess?” Toni laughed, with her friends right by her side. “What kind of sister are you?”

Jayden was so mad at her comment, that she slammed Toni against the locker while Toni’s friend’s started jumping Jayden. Madjesty seeing them get out on her sister, grabbed a pencil out of her book bag and stuck it into the flesh of Toni’s leg.

Ahhhhh!!!! HELPPP!” Toni yelled.

Three security guards saw the incident and grabbed the sisters and took them to the principal’s office. While Toni was taken to the nurses office.

“You two stay right here and don’t move!” One of the security guards said leaving them alone.

Madjesty gripped her stomach and doubled over. “Are you okay, Madjesty? Did they hurt you?”

They didn’t get one lick off of me.” Madjesty said clenching her stomach again.

Then why is your stomach hurting? Every time I see you, your stomach is messed up.”

I don’t know. But it’s been bothering me a lot lately.”

You should ask mama to take you to the doctors. Something could be very wrong and it’s been going on too long, Madjesty.”

Jayden, I see your life has changed, but mine is still the same.” She said with an attitude. “When have you ever known Harmony to take us to a doctor?”

Can I do anything, Madjesty? Maybe I can get Shaggy to take you for me. He’s really cool and will do anything for me.” Silence. “Madjesty, please talk to me. You’re shutting me out and I’m not the one who hurt you.”

I want you to stay out of my life. Me and you aren’t family anymore.”

Her words hit Jayden like a sack of rocks on her heart and caused her to cry. “But…I…I don’t understand why. You’re my sister.”

And I hate you for it! You left me alone. You left me by myself to deal with her on my own. Do you know what it’s like to live with a mother who hates you?” Madjesty cried for the first time ever. “We said we’d never leave the other’s side, Jayden. And you broke your promise.”

I’m sorry. But…She put me out. She told me to leave.”

You lying!” Madjesty said. “Mama said that boy told you to go with him and you paid mama five hundred dollars to let you leave.” She cried harder.

That’s not true!”

You didn’t stop one time to think about me.”

Before they could continue their conversation, Mrs. Crimply, the school’s principal came into her office.

I don’t know how you two behave in Texas, but this type of behavior will not be tolerated at my school.” She said picking up the phone. “What’s your mother’s number? I need her to come get the both of you today.”

Jayden’s stomach turned the moment she walked into the mansion. Unlike Harmony, Jayden didn’t have fond memories of Concord Manor.

Madjesty, go to your room,” Harmony said with an attitude, as if she was a good disciplinarian. “I’ll call you when dinner is ready. And don’t bother turning on that TV since you’re suspended from school, you’re going to be suspended here, too.”

Then she walked to the kitchen as Jayden stayed in the foyer. “Jayden, come here.”

I’m about to call Shaggy to come get me. I’m not staying here with you.”

Come here now. I’m not asking you, little girl, I’m telling you.”

Jayden followed Harmony into the kitchen while Harmony took a can of spaghetti out of the cabinet, opened it with a green electric can opener and put it into a pot.

I see you’ve been taking care of yourself,” she said turning the eye to the stove on low. The heat hit the pan and the spaghetti crackled quietly inside. “That’s good.” Then she opened the cabinet over the stove and twisted a bottle of vodka and took two gulps. She didn’t bother using cups anymore.

I’m fine. If that’s what you’re asking.”

Harmony downed some more vodka and said, “Looks like you’re doing better than fine to me. I sure wish I could buy Gucci purses and stuff. Life has served itself to you on a silver platter, huh?”

What is this about? And what do you want with me?”

Money. I want money, Jayden. You are still my underage daughter, and you don’t get to do what you want.”

I’m not scared of you and you can’t run my life. Because I finally understand that you are nothing but a jealous old bitch!”

You know what, at first I may have denied that accusation, but maybe you’re right. Look at me and then look at you. You have my face.”

And yet you hate me the most.” Jayden combated. “Maybe that means you hate yourself, too.”

I’ve hated myself since my father died,” Harmony said stirring the food.

Then she reached into the cabinet and pulled out a knife. “I wonder how pretty your face would be, if I sliced it? Then we could have matching faces. Wouldn’t that be great?”

Jayden’s heart banged loudly in her chest and she backed away. “Don’t worry, I got something better planned for you.”

It was obvious that Harmony loved playing mental games on Jayden. Then she put the knife back in the drawer and reached under the cabinet to pull out a bottle of antifreeze. Then she took a spoon and stirred it into the food on the stove.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Jayden screamed.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh.” Harmony said with a finger over her mouth. “You can stop this if you want to. You really can.”

A tear ran down Jayden’s face. “Why are you doing this?”

Because I can.” Harmony said drinking more vodka from the bottle. “I brought her into this world, and I have the ability to take her out of it.”

Mama, you’re killing her. Don’t you care?” She sobbed. “She is your daughter.”

I know.”

Jayden hated herself for crying when she saw the pleasure in her mother’s eyes. She really was, mother monster. Not wanting to give Harmony any more satisfaction, she wiped the tears from her face. “How long have you been doing this? How long have you been putting stuff in her food?”

For a while.” She said. “But enough small talk. Let’s talk about what you can do for me, for a change. I expect you to give me a thousand dollars a week to allow you to live where you want to, and to allow Madjesty to stay here.”

You want me to pay rent even though I don’t live here?”

Exactly.”

Mama…”

If you don’t give me the money,” Harmony interrupted. “I will kill her. Slowly. It’s as simple as that. And if people blame me, I will put the blame on Kali instead. He’s not supposed to be here anyway after what he did to me, so it’ll be easy for people to believe me.”

What if I tell them you poisoned her?”

Then I’ll use this instead,” she said opening a drawer in the kitchen with a key, removing a gun. Then she dished out a bowl of spaghetti and placed it on the counter. “But be clear, if you tell anyone about this, anyone at all, including your little boyfriend, there will be trouble for you.” Having made her point, Harmony placed the gun back in the drawer and locked it.

Jayden put her hand over her mouth in horror while Harmony laughed. Then Harmony yelled, “MADJESTY! COME GET YOUR FOOD!”

Jayden and Harmony shared quiet looks, as Madjesty removed the poisoned food off the counter and went upstairs to eat it.

“I hope you know how serious I am.” Harmony said. “My money, or your sister’s life. What you wanna do?”

L.A

Kali

Kali walked and pushed Cherry through the gates of Massive’s mansion in L.A. It was quietly tucked into a part of city not many people knew about. Massive liked it that way. But Kali was quite aware of where he lived, considering he’d been working with him for many years. Jace and his crew didn’t know that Kali was responsible for every murder in Rick and Jace’s crew. He was even responsible for conducting the hits on Rick’s crew member’s family. Kali’s hands also killed both Herb Dayo and Sick Sense and their bodies would never be found. But lately Massive had been putting the pressure on Kali to kill Jace but he needed to weigh his options first.

Kalive, it’s nice to see you,” Massive said to him after giving his doorman the authorization to let them inside. “What brings you here?” They shook hands and Kali pushed Cherry inside of the living room, next to a couch. Then he took a seat and Massive sat across from him.

I wanted to talk to you about a few things. That is if you have a few minutes.”

Sure.” Massive said drinking a glass of very expensive bourbon. “Can I get you some liquor? Or coffee?”
