“Too far.” His hand came up to caress my breasts and I bit back a moan. “Bathroom?”

“Someone will come in.”

“Julia, we have to figure this out before there’s not enough blood going to my brain.”

I giggled and grabbed his hand as I headed away. We’d find somewhere. I didn’t even think about if anyone would be in the private area, if they’d see it. I didn’t care. I needed him and every second was torturous.

Fortunately, the space was empty save for the bartender who didn’t even glance in our direction as we went past. I pulled Rick out onto the balcony and over behind the screen, next to the hot tub. “This will do. If we’re quiet.”

He grinned wolfishly. “I’m not the one who likes to scream, sweetheart.”

“Shut up and kiss me,” I ordered.

Rick happily obliged. We came together again, limbs and tongues entwined, with my butt resting on the edge of the hot tub, totally invisible to anyone inside or on the balcony, as long as they didn’t walk right in front of us. The kiss was blisteringly hot, his mouth firm and demanding, mine hungry and insistent.

He reached inside my dress to stroke and pinch the tip of each breast before sliding down me enough to take one between his lips. My fingers dug into the back of his neck as he worried at the stiff, dusky peak.

I licked my lips and closed my eyes. “This is a bad idea, Rick.”

“Mm-hmm,” was all he said while continuing the delicious assault on my soft flesh.

“Secret relationships or arrangements or whatever the hell this is don’t work if we get caught and…” I trailed off as his hand snuck up past the hem of my dress and under my panties. Fingers grazed my damp sex and I forgot what I’d been saying.

“Let’s talk about that later, okay?” Rick asked.

“Mm-kay.”

His thumb nudged at my entrance and I gasped, opening my eyes.

Rick smiled. “I should make you wait. Tease you. Make you beg after that little show you put on downstairs.”

“Maybe. But I don’t think you want to. I think you want to take me right now. Hard and fast.”

“Always.”

“Hmm, then I guess I should apologize first, show you how sorry I am for my naughty behavior.”

He chuckled, voice husky. “You’ll never be sorry for being naughty. It’s one of the things I like about you.”

I stood up straight and turned us around, switching positions so he was leaning against the edge of the bubbling tub. “Here’s another to add to the list,” I said saucily before falling to my knees in front of him.

To make my intentions plain, I unzipped his pants and smiled. Rick sighed as I reached inside and wrapped my fingers around his length and squeezed. He lifted his arms and pulled off his shirt and I took a moment to appreciate the view of his muscular torso in motion.

Then I stuck out my tongue and tasted the blunt tip of his manhood before closing my lips around him and sliding the smooth length in deeper.

One of his hands fisted in my hair and I low, appreciative sound emanated from his throat. I lavished his member with attention from lips and tongue and teeth, varying speed and depth and rhythm based on the way his fingers tensed and his legs shook until his breath caught as he yelped, “Stop.”

I drew one last long pull on him before obeying. “Something wrong?”

Rick shook his head. “Right. Too right. I swear, you might be the perfect woman, Julia.”

I grinned and stood up. “I’m glad someone finally noticed.”

He chuckled and pulled me close, nuzzling at my neck. “There’s nothing about you I don’t notice.”

I wrapped my arms around him and started swaying to the music that played quietly as desire and a few drinks lowered my inhibitions enough to speak the truth. “I really only wanted to dance with you, you know.”

“Good,” he murmured, running his hands down over my butt, kneading.

Every inch of me came alive under his touch.

“Take your dress off,” Rick ordered me.

“What if someone comes back here?”

He looked around for a second and then grinned. “Get in the hot tub.”

I paused for a second, but then did as he asked. Shimmying out of my clothes and underwear, I braced myself against him to remove my shoes and felt Rick shudder. I loved that he got so turned on by me. That I drove him as crazy as he did me.

As soon as I was naked he shoved off the rest of his clothes too and hopped into the big tub, stretching out a hand to help me in. I climbed waded in, about to climb down the three steps inside when Rick stopped me. He grabbed my hips and sat me down on the edge so only my legs up to mid-calf were underwater.

“What?”

“Gotta return that favor, sweetheart,” he said.

At first I had no idea what he meant, and then I realized and smiled. “Won’t get any argument from me.”

“That’ll be a first,” he responded softly before sliding over between my legs. He spread my thighs open and lifted one leg onto his shoulder. I leaned back, balancing myself on one of the railings as the steaming water bubbled up, tickling.

But then Rick’s mouth descended to my sex and everything else disappeared. The stubble on his cheek abraded lightly, a sharp contrast to the soft warmth of his tongue as he licked lazy circles around my heated flesh, rounding tighter and tighter to my center.

I gasped as the tip of his tongue danced over my clit, sending shockwaves of pleasure radiating from that spot. He swiped over it again and again, faster and with more pressure each time and I swallowed a shout as I shattered into sharp shards of ecstasy.

“Rick, Rick,” I whined mindlessly.

He pulled back just long enough to grab something from his pants where they hung on the side of the tub, and then was back again. I heard the crinkle of a wrapper above the sound of rushing water and then felt him tug me down, and before I knew it he was inside, filling me, taking me, claiming me, completely.

As he thrust deep into my tender heat, I bit my tongue to keep from crying out. Every nerve-ending in my body was screaming with pleasure as he plunged inside again and again, ever so slowly, letting me feel every bit, stoking the fire inside me higher and higher.

Our gazes locked and the wild desire I saw in his eyes just made it better. I dug my nails into his neck and clasped my ankles tight around his back as we rocked together. Water sloshed over the sides of the tub and guttural sounds escaped from both of us.

And just when I was about to explode again, he stopped. Slid completely inside and froze.

“Wha-why?”

“Look at me, Jules.”

I blinked a few times to make my eyes focus. “What is it?”

“You. It’s you and me. And it’s perfect.”

“Oh god, Rick, really? You want to have a moment right now? Don’t be such a girl. Just fuck me.”

He frowned and then laughed. “Damn you, woman.”

He shifted his grasp, holding my hips and then started a series fast, deep thrusts that took my breath away. I wondered briefly if arguing would always be such a part of our sexual chemistry. But then he bent down and nipped at one of my breasts and I decided I didn’t care one bit.

I yelled something nonsensical and my core tightened. My nails raked his back, breaking the skin. He hissed and just kept driving into me harder and faster. The climax ripped through me, making me writhe uncontrollably, taking everything he had to give and returning it back, connecting us completely. I kissed him and bit down on his tongue, forcing pleasure and pain to combine as we rocketed to outer space together, wild and reckless and…perfect.

But then, minutes later when I could breathe and speak again, we came to the “what were we thinking” part of the encounter. By pure blind luck no one had come outside to catch the view or go for a dip, but now we were naked and in a hot tub above a packed dance club.

Rick and I looked at each other, our clothes strewn around and the rest of the balcony, and burst out laughing. It was a moment just as meaningful as any of the ones we’d shared before. Real, and funny and intimate.

“Well, shit,” I finally said. “How do we play this off?”

He shook his head. “Fuck if I know.”

I snorted. “Some help you are.” I slipped away from him and rested against the side of the hot tub.

“Give me a sec.” He sat opposite me, looking intently in my direction.

“Staring at my tits isn’t going to help you come up with a plan.”

“It might, just not the kind you’re looking for.”

In spite of myself, the flame of desire rekindled deep within me and I smiled. “Get us out of here with minimum embarrassment and I’m yours all night.”

“Well, why didn’t you say so.” Rick smirked and climbed out of the hot tub. He pulled his pants up over soaking wet legs, but left his shirt on the ground. “If anyone comes by, duck under the water. I’ll be back in a second.”

“Um, okay.”

He retreated around the privacy screen and then stuck his head back around. “Oh, and sweetheart, you haven’t been paying very close attention. You’re already mine. And for a long longer than just tonight.”

Then he was gone again I was left to try not to wonder why his cocky possessiveness was so appealing to me. But true to his word, Rick returned in under two minutes. He held a bathrobe in one hand and my purse in the other.

“I come bearing gifts and information.”

I smiled and climbed out of the hot tub, reluctantly. I pulled the robe around me quickly in the cool air and then turned to look at him. “What’s the information?”

“There’s an entrance to the bathrooms from out here. No one will see you until you’re dressed again.”

“That is good information. What about you?”

“I’m gonna hang out here. Do my brooding loner thing.”

I laughed. “Do you ever stop doing your ‘brooding loner’ act?”

Rick tugged at my hair where it hung damp behind me and then planted a kiss on my throat. “Only around you, it seems.”

I sighed and smiled, looking into his eyes for a long time before grabbing my clothes and following him to the door that would lead me into the shower area. As I got cleaned up and dressed, my thoughts were dreamy. After reapplying makeup and pulling my hair into a messy bun, I slipped into my shoes and left the bathroom.

By now, the super VIP area was occupied again. A few members of the crew were chilling by the glass, watching the party rage below. Becca was standing by herself next to the bar and something on her face prodded me to see if she was okay. But then I looked down at myself. A cursory glance wouldn’t reveal anything, but she was too observant to not notice my fresh makeup and wet hair. So, after tossing a questioning look her way, I kept striding towards the elevator. Becca just waggled her fingers in a distracted wave and went back to staring at nothing. I felt like a total bitch for not talking to her, but I didn’t even know what I could say. It had been a long time since I made a real friend and I was terribly out of practice. Between that and my need to keep what I’d been up to secret, my presence wouldn’t have helped her anyway. I figured I could call her in the morning and see if she wanted to have breakfast. Or lunch, depending on how late I slept.

When I exited the elevator, I wasn’t sure where to go. Back to the dance floor? To the hotel to wait for Rick? I had no plan, so I just kind of stood there for a while, feeling disconnected to everything around me, though not in a necessarily unpleasant way.

Then Dex stumbled over, clearly drunk out of his mind.

“Julia, my darling. I’ve been looking all over for you!”

“You have?” I asked incredulously, turning my face away when he slung an arm over my shoulder and hitting me with a blast of seriously overproof breath.

“Yes. Forever.”

“Well, you’ve found me. What’s up?”

“I need Becca.”

“Oh. She’s upstairs. I can go get her. Or call up there for you.”

“No, no, you don’t understand. I
need
her.”

I patted his hand. “Okay. That’s nice.”

He exhaled loudly. “You aren’t getting me.”

“I…no, I guess I’m not.”

“Bollocks,” he replied belligerently before pitching over forward and almost dragging me with him. Luckily for both of us, the security guard was there to catch Dex’s weight so I could stay upright.

“Sorry,” I told the guy. “Guess he’s partied out for the night.”

“No problem.” He held Dex with one arm and muttered something into his headset. “Someone will be coming in just a minute to escort him out the back. Or carry, if necessary. The rest of your party will be notified and there’s a car waiting.”

“Oh, okay. Thanks. Um, I can go back to our hotel with him. Make sure he gets to bed safe.”

“Good.” H spoke into the headset again and smiled. “Your ride is ready and waiting. I recommend putting him off to a side alone, if you catch my meaning.”

As if on cue, Dex groaned and slid to the floor in a heap. I rolled my eyes.

The elevator dinged behind me and Rick and Matthew stepped out. Rick had put the rest of his clothes on, but I could see a scratch mark from my fingernails along one bicep and his hair was damp.

I smiled at them both, trying to play it cool, and pointed at Dex. “Someone turned into a pumpkin tonight.”

Rick laughed and punched Matthew lightly on the arm. “You’re on Dex duty tonight, brother. I got puked on last time.”

Matthew groaned. “Swell.”

I updated them on the “get Dex out of there” plan and two giant club staff members appeared just as I finished. They picked the barely conscious bass player up under each arm and dragged him around the back of the wall and down a hallway.

I headed after them and Rick caught up with me. “Need me to help with him?”

“Nah, I’m sure someone at the hotel can help me get him to his…” I started at him blankly for a second, trying to figure out why he looked slightly annoyed. Then I got it. “Oh, yeah. It would be nice to have someone give me a hand. With Dex.” I arched an eyebrow and saw Rick was trying not to laugh.

“Fine,” he grumbled. “I’ll ruin the rest of my night helping this asshole. Some things never change.”

Matthew, who was the beneficiary of that performance, pulled even with us as we approached the back door of the club. “I can come along, if you want.”
