Chapter 1

Jackson

We had been on tour for three years, and although it was great fun, it was time to head home and settle for a while. I was looking forward to going back to Plushton, to see all the old faces, the busy little town, with several supermarkets, cinemas, a stadium and arcades (where I spent lots of money as a child).  And, of course, ‘The Archer’; my favourite bar. We were all so excited to be able to take some time, write some music and record some new tracks. We had a strong following of local people that were glad we had come back to share our music with them, and The Archer had already booked us for every Friday night for the next few weeks. ‘Flix’ were back in town! It was time for me and Cindy to get a place together and settle down. I knew some people would think we were crazy wanting to settle down when we were only twenty three, but she had been on tour with us as we couldn't bear to be apart. We were childhood sweethearts and we had been together for eight years. So it was time for me to go pick out a ring. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.

Today, we were rehearsing for tonight’s gig; we hadn't played at home in a long time, so this would be fun and the crowd was going to be buzzing. We performed our first show at ‘The Dome’ three years ago, just before leaving on tour, and we sold out then. The tickets for this show sold out in an hour; that was amazing. I loved doing big shows, but I was also looking forward to doing our weekly gigs at The Archer, where it would be a smaller crowd and a little more intimate.

My phone beeped and it was a message from my girl;

Hey babe, how’s rehearsals going? I’m looking forward to watching your sexy ass on that stage tonight!

Rick, our bass player slapped me on the back;

“Dude, what are you grinning at?”

“Just my girl.”

“Come on, man, let’s rehearse, this is going to be one kickass show tonight, who would have thought we would be back playing at a packed ‘Dome’!”

“Yeah, I know, this is going to be one hell of a rush.” I pushed my phone back into my pocket and picked up my microphone, I was the lead singer and always got such a rush singing to a crowd.

I was not happy that my so called friends were making me do this. I didn't want to go to a rock concert, let alone go to a Flix concert. I’d never really paid a lot of attention to their music, but had heard their concert tonight was sold out, so all I could picture was a bunch of rowdy rockers, with hundreds of girls following them, all trying desperately to be the one they picked to take home that night.

"Come on, Esme, get your head out of that book and let's have some fun." Marcy pleaded with me.

"It's not going to be fun, being pushed and shoved in a confined space!" I snapped back at her.

She stood there with her hands on her hips, clearly not taking no for an answer.

"Fine, ok, I'll go." Marcy squealed and jumped up and down in excitement.

We met up with Danni and Kate a couple of hours later and made our way to the concert.  To my complete horror, we had seats in the front row. All I wanted to do was go home and curl up and get lost in my book. I looked around and it was filled with loads of half dressed girls. An hour later and the warm up band had just finished and I was getting pretty bored, I just wanted this to end. Flix, the band we had paid to see had now come out on stage… Oh my God, I’m no longer bored. Jackson, the lead singer of the band, tall, tatted, in tight jeans and a tight t-shirt with muscles bulging, now had my full attention. I felt hot, like a deer caught in the headlights. I couldn’t take my eyes off him. He started to sing and I felt myself melt, he looked my way, winked and gave me a panty dropping smile. Oh. My. God. Was all I thought as I watched him do his thing.

"Where the hell have you been?" I snapped at Cindy as I paced around the back room of the venue.
The show had finished over an hour ago and this was the first I had seen of her; normally she would have be ready and waiting for me backstage, as she knew the buzz of the show wound me up, I was ready and gagging for it and she was no-where to be seen. I had lots of hot girls ready and willing for me, but she was the one I loved, the one I wanted to be with.

"Sorry, baby, I was just having some time with the girls." Cindy said walking over to me with that sway in her hips, she knew that got me every time. I felt stupid for acting so much like a pussy, I knew that she wanted me, I had nothing to be worried about. I grabbed her hips and pulled her close to me.

"How about I make it up to you for snapping by taking you to a hotel tonight, where we won't be interrupted?" She looked at me with desire in her eyes, biting her bottom lip, she slowly smiled and nodded.

“Don’t you have to go to the after party?”

“Yes, but after that you are all mine.” I grabbed the back of her neck and claimed her lips. She melted into me, rubbing herself up against my body.

“Let’s get to this party, I am in the mood to dance.” She wiggled her hips and I felt my dick jump in my trousers.

“Come on then, babe.” We made our way out of the venue, there was a car waiting for us and we jumped in.

“Where have you been? We have been waiting to go for ages.” Frank complained.

“Sorry, my fault. I got distracted.” Cindy shrugged. “Let’s go.” She called out, tapping the driver on the shoulder. The car took off and we headed for the after party.

I arrived home from the concert an hour ago and I couldn't get that sexy smile and wink out of my head. ‘What’s happening to me’ I thought; I didn't get bent out of shape over guys, they just messed with your head and at the end of the day they break your heart, especially rockers. They were looking for a quick lay, I wanted something more and knew I would never in a million years get to be someone like that. I was shy and quiet and never even really had a proper kiss.

"Esme!" Kate screamed from the front door of my flat. I went running thinking something was on fire.

"What?" I asked

"We are going out; Marcy has got us tickets to a club."

"A club? I don't want to go clubbing, I have just got my PJs on and got to a good bit in my book. Besides, I have nothing to wear." It was just after midnight, I was ready for bed and really couldn’t face going back out.

Kate smirked at me and held up a bag.

"Oh god, what’s in there?" I asked.

"A present for you." Kate smiled.

I took the bag from her and looked inside. I gulped when I pulled the dress out that was in there. It looked very short, it was silver and glittery. Not a lot to it at all. I swallowed, feeling a bit nervous.

"I can't wear that, look at it!" I had never wore anything like that in my life.

"Of course you can, you will look hot!"

"I don't want to look hot." Did I?

"Of course you do, everyone does, now come on. Marcy will be here any minute."

I knew that once Marcy got here I would have no choice but to wear it, so I took the dress, stomped towards my bedroom and started getting ready.

Chapter 3

We were at the club doing shots when some guys entered; they were all hot and tattooed and surrounded by girls. One guy had a blonde, skinny, fake breasted girl attached to his arm, she looked smug, like she had won the lottery. When I got a closer look I realised it was the band we saw tonight, ‘Oh God, this must be their after show party’ I thought to myself, and the guy that was attached to the girl was the lead singer, the one who made me swoon and get a little hot and bothered.

"Come on, girls, let’s dance, I love this song!" Marcy shouted over the music.

Kate and I both nodded and we walked towards the dance floor. We had been dancing for a few songs when I spotted the girl who was attached to the lead singer of Flix. She was dancing with another guy quite closely. Maybe she and Jackson weren't an item after all.

"I need a drink." I shouted to the girls; they both just waved their hands at me and carried on dancing. I made my way to the bar but it was so crowded, I couldn't get near. I threw my arms up in exasperation, and wondered why people came here and did this. There were too many people for my liking and I wanted to leave. I did enjoy having a drink and a dance but this place was over crowded.

"Hey, you ok?" I heard from behind me, I looked over my shoulder and was surprised to see Jackson. I was relieved, too, as I thought it was some guy hitting on me.

"I’m fine, just wanted a drink, but I can’t get near the bar." I replied, looking for a gap.

"Come with me." He said. I hesitated, not sure if I should follow him, he is a rock star after all, he could be taking me anywhere. Reading my thoughts, he smiled at me and said;

"I won't bite; you’ll be safe with me." He had a friendly smile and made me feel at ease so I nodded my head and followed him. He took me to what looked like a VIP area that had its own bar.

"Come and sit down, they will bring you whatever you want." I smiled at him and nodded, trying to stop thoughts of kissing him from entering my head, I never had thoughts like that. The waitress walked up to him, smiled and said;

“Hi, what can I get you?” Jackson looked at me and I ordered a vodka and coke and he ordered a Jack and coke.

“You having a good night?” He asked.

“Yes, thank you, I don’t normally do this…” He cut me off.

“This?” he looked confused.

“Oh, not this.” I said as I gestured between the two of us “I meant clubbing, I don’t go out a lot. I got dragged here by my friends.”

“Well, I’m glad you got dragged out.” He smiled at me and winked. I giggled and blushed.

I didn’t know what was wrong with me. I felt an instant connection with this guy and I didn’t really know him. Just as we got our drinks the blonde from earlier came over, sat herself on his lap and kissed him. I felt kind of awkward; I didn't really know where to look. I cleared my throat so they were reminded that I was still there. They broke apart and Jackson said "Oh, sorry, Cindy this is..." He stopped when he realised he hadn't asked me my name.

"Esmeralda." I added. "Esme, my friends call me." Cindy looked at me with disgust, grabbed Jackson’s drink from his hand, downed it and said "I’m Cindy, Jackson's GIRLFRIEND."

Oh, so she was his girlfriend, but obviously liked the attention she got from other men, if what I saw on the dance floor was anything to go by.

"Nice to meet you, I will leave you guys to it, thanks for the drink." I said as I stood up.
Cindy took no time in manoeuvring herself and straddling Jackson, so I turned around and walked away. I loved the way he smiled and winked at me, I knew there was nothing in it, he was probably like that with loads of girls. A way to keep the fans happy.

A couple of hours later, I was exhausted and just wanted to go home. I had joined Marcy and Kate back on the dance floor and my feet were killing me, I needed to get my shoes off.

"Guys, I'm going to make a move." I said to Marcy and Kate.

"No, not yet, just one more drink." Kate pleaded with me.

"Fine, you get it; I'm going to the bathroom." On my way to the bathroom, I heard some noises, coming from a dark alcove at the back of the club. My curiosity took over and I followed the noise. What I saw surprised me; it looked like Cindy, Jackson's girlfriend, and she was in a passionate embrace and it wasn't with Jackson.
