We woke up in the late morning. At first I was a little confused, not being able to focus on exactly what happened last night. Alexandra was still asleep so I thought I would go get some breakfast. I slid out of the bed and wrapped myself in a bathrobe. I dusted off my slippers that I never actually used and put them on my cold feet. I looked outside the window, and sure enough soft little flakes of snow were falling from the sky. That explains why it’s so bloody cold in here.

I walked down to the kitchen and tiptoed through the dining room as to not be seen. I grabbed some muffins and milk and soon realized that I couldn’t really carry much out. I ran-walked back to my room grabbing a platter from the wall along the way. This probably isn’t too sanitary, but I thought it was a cute gesture. When I got back to my room, the bed was empty.

I quickly made my way around my room, my walk-in closet and the bathroom – empty. I heard the door creak and spun around, it was her. I sighed in relief, for a second I thought that she might have left. She was wearing one of my long coats and high socks, her entire body was covered in fabric but she was still so appealing.

“So I was thinking” she paused, looking around the room as if she was searching for something and continued “I, if you would allow it, would like to spend more time with you, and ponder the possibility of us being together?” she blushed.

“Well, Alexandra, I think that we can most definitely ponder its possibility” I tried to speak nonchalantly but this seemed to leave a sour taste in her mouth “well really, what I mean to say is that we should try and give us a possibility to be together by spending time together” that was better.

She slowly walked up to me and grabbed the tray of muffins and milk and set it on the bed. I had completely forgot that I was holding these at this point, I’m actually surprised I didn’t drop them all together. She gave me a firm hug wrapping her arms and right leg around my body. I liked Alexandra, but one thing did bother me; her husband.

“Alexandra” she corrected me to Alex “Uhm, Alex, I do have to ask you one thing, and I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but I do need to ask about your husband” I paused and mulled my ideas over in my head “Where exactly do you stand with him, and how are we going to make us work when you are married to another man”. I hoped that this didn’t offend her.

“That’s a… very valid… question” she said excruciatingly slowly, I hope she was not hurt “A couple of days ago I told him I wanted to leave him and he hit me” she lifted her coat from her chest and showed me a dark bruise on her side. Odd, I hadn’t noticed it last night. “And so I left.” She concluded abruptly.

“Oh, I see…” I didn’t know how to respond to such an atrocity.

“Needless to say, I have filed for divorce. The only problem is that as soon as my parents find out they will probably already have another man lined up for me.”

“And if I was in the picture?”

“Well then they’d make you marry me” she said stiffly.

“Ok!” I retorted with equal stiffness.

“Ok??” I could tell that my rebuttal shocked her a little.

“Yes, Ok”

She walked to the window and stared at the white, lightly dusted ground. It had already stopped snowing but it was beautiful outside. Several long moments passed before she turned back to me.

“So you’re going to marry me? A woman you just met?” She seemed suspicious.

“I am going to need to wed at some point in my life, and the first girl that I ever have had feelings for seems like the best option” I said with a coy smile.

“Interesting” she said, and went back to the window.

I couldn’t tell if she was upset or if she was just scared. Maybe it was a mix of both. I really did have feelings for her, I just hoped she felt the same way and didn’t think that I was going too fast. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I would rather not practically propose to a woman I had just met the previous night, but what else was I supposed to do?

She smiled, as if she had a trick up her sleeve and merely said “ok!”

She went over to my bed and took one of the blueberry muffins. I opted for the carrot spice one, but soon realized that this was an error. Who in the name of God would put sunflower seeds in a carrot muffin? Rubbish! I poor us each a glass of milk and downed mine in a few seconds. She began to laugh which of course, in turn, made me choke on my last gulp of milk.

We began to speak about our future aspirations in terms of careers and family. She wanted two children, preferably a girl and a boy, or as she said
one of each
. She asked me how many kids I wanted and I honestly could not answer her question. I never even fathomed having to take care children, let alone have my very own. I said that two seemed reasonable and that it didn’t really bother me much in all honesty.

I couldn’t help but think how exactly the whole “divorcing my crazy-violent-husband thing” worked. I really wanted to ask her for more details but I didn’t want to pry. A knock on the door snapped me back to reality.

“Léopold?” Called out Yvette.

“Yes, Yvette.”

“Can I come een?” she asked and I turned over to Alexandra. She tightened my coat and nodded.

“Come in!” I chimed. She pushed through the door and stood at the edge of the bed.

“I’m appy you’re still ere! Alexandra, yor usband iz looking forr yew. Said dat Alexandra has paper to sign! Should I let heem in?” She looked worried.

“If you could, Yvette is it? Get the papers and I will sign them and give them back”

“Yes, certainly.” She left.

“Well” started Alex “I suppose that after I sign the papers I will be freed from him and my parents will soon be on my back about it”

“If there’s anything I can do to make it easier for you, please let me know sweetheart” This nickname made her smile widely.

We waited for Yvette to return in silence. To be honest, I was slightly bewildered by how quickly everything was happening. My thoughts drifted and I began to dwell on my parents and the poison that awaits them. Was I going about this the wrong way? Perhaps Alexandra and I could do our own thing and help people our own way. The thought of poisoning my parents, for the first time, began to disgust me. I didn’t want to do this, this wasn’t ok. My parents might not be ok themselves, in their actions I mean, but how does their murder make anything better?

My cheeks got hot and I feel like am I sweating. I zoned out for a short period of time before rising to my feet.

“I’m going to check on Yvette” I stated matter-of-factly.

Alex just nodded and I rushed out the door. I took the stairs two at a time, which I must say was a big feat when going down a winding staircase. I rushed to the coffee room and opened the tea cupboard. The pot of sugar was gone. I ran around the palace, looking for anyone that might have taken the sugar.

Sure enough, I found my answer, my brother had the sugar, and a coffee, half empty.

What had I done? I sat down in front of my brother and starred at him alarmingly. His pupils were dilated. He’s skin looked pale and dark blue circles had formed around his eyes.

“Could I have a coffee” I chirped.

“Here, have mine, it tastes funny” He said and left the room.

I followed him. What else was I supposed to do? He disappeared to his room and I returned to the kitchen where my brother had sat down for coffee. I diluted the drink and poured it down the drain along with the rest of the sugar. I found Chantal, one of my brother’s servants and asked her to tend to Arthur saying that he looked a little ill.

I sat by his doorframe for two long hours. Several servants came in and out, all I could here was a buzz of voices. Eventually, a medic came in and with that I ran away, in tears.

I got back to my room out of pure instinct, not really paying any attention to where I was going. Alexandra was in the bedroom, reading a large pile of paper. I wiped my eyes and sat behind her so that she couldn’t see my face. I was breathing heavily so I closed my eyes and tried to control myself.

“Is something wrong?” She asked

“No, I’m just feeling a little light headed that’s all” I didn’t know just how much I should tell her.

“Let me give you a massage. I’ll just…” her voice trailed off as she signed the final page of the pile.

She turned me on back and began to run her hands up and down my back. She peeled off my robe and pressed her palms deep into my lower back. She rolled up to my shoulder blades. At first, she prodded at my shoulder, as if she didn’t really know what she was doing. After a little while though, she developed a pleasant rhythm that made me feel a euphoric relaxation that I had never sensed before.

After several minutes of ecstasy she pushed me over onto my back and began to kiss me softly.

“Feeling better, honey?” She asked sweetly.

“Yes, thank you.” I actually was feeling a lot better.

I said that we ought to get ready to get those papers back to Yvette. I asked if she wanted to shower before I did but by the smile on her face I could tell she had other plans. She firmly grabbed my hand and ran to the shower. She took off my coat and struggled to peel off my knee-socks. She started the water without any trouble as if she had been already living here and pushed me towards to tub.

The water was warm and relaxing. She kissed my cheek and then made her way around my neck and around both shoulders. I felt very controlled by her. At first, this excited me, but I couldn’t help but think that my lack of experience must make her feel less than excited.

Out of pure instinct I turned her around and pressed her against the cold wall. She moaned in disapproval but my strong kisses on the back of her neck seemed to change her mind. Her breathing began to evolve into purrs that made me continue. I lightly bent her forward and kissed her bare back. I stood directly behind her and put some of my weight on her body. I slid myself into her as she roared at my actions.

I began to sway forward and back with a slow pace. She was fairly quiet at first but as I started to gain speed she got louder and louder. The tub was slippery and I had a hard time staying in control. Eventually, I gave in and stopped being cautious. I clamped by hands on her bare bottom and thrust myself deeper into her. My swaying turned into hard knocking deeper and deeper inside her.

My member began to pulsated and shake. I could feel it inside her and my body suddenly became rather limber and warm. In turn, she began to moan softer but longer and her knees unlocked. She slipped forward. I could feel her pulsating around me in unison with my actions. I couldn’t help myself and exploded inside her amazing body. I grabbed hard onto her back, needing some support in order to stay up. She slide away from me and I gasped as my penis slide out of her in one fast motion.

She slowly lowered me down to my knees and we kissed aggressively for what felt like hours. She grabbed my hair and my back, scratching at my skin. I couldn’t help but dig my fingers into her hips and pull her as close to me as humanly possible.

A few days passed. Alexandra and I got through a couple of hard days but things were looking up. My brother was rushed to hospital, they determined that he had a simple case of food poisoning, most likely from the chicken that was served at the dinner party. Some of the guest had complained that it was cold in the center, it had to have been caused by that…

We only had one more thing to conquer, our parents. Not in the sense you might think, I don’t me conquer as in to kill. We needed to tell them about our relationship. One thing about the Royal family is that we try to stay within the royal family. My parents for example are actually cousins. I don’t really think that this ideal makes much sense and I actually find it borderline-distasteful, but I suppose that now is not a good time to question my parents.

I can only hope that they will take a liking to Alexandra, but knowing them it could either go completely sour or completely perfect. There seemed to be no grey areas with my parents, every situation was always answered to by a simple yes or no.

“So Alexandra, tell me about yourself” My mother put an end to the awkward silence.

“Well, I am the eldest of my family of three sisters. Born in Liverpool but moved here with my hus… husky about three years ago.” At first I thought she had a dog she hadn’t told me about, but then I realized what was going on.

Weather talk soon followed and then my parents departed for a business meeting.

“That went… well.” I said as soon as they had left the room.

“Yah, sure.” Alexandra said quietly.

“They have no idea what is going on, you covered yourself well and I don’t want you to worry about it any longer”

She nodded. I took her hand and brought her to the foyer.

“I suppose there’s only one thing left to do.”

“Oh?” She said, puzzled.

“Meet your parents!!”

“Leopold, are you fucking kidding me?” She did not seem amused in the slightest.

“Sweetheart, we need to get this over with, please, I’m only doing this to help you.”

She mulled it over for what felt like forever before finally agreeing. I asked Yvette to call my driver and he arrived at the door by carriage to bring us to Alexandra’s parent’s home.

Our trip to her home was rather silent. At first I was fine with this but then I thought that it might have been better if we planned things out before we went to see them. I was going to suggest that we stop somewhere before our arrival to go over a game plan of sorts, but we arrived at their doorstep just as I was processing these thoughts

The home was very small but extremely well maintained. Its Victorian style suggested that it was fairly modern and that it was not built cheaply. Beautiful frosty vines wrapped around the home, especially on its side walls. What appeared to be rose bushes fenced off the property from the outside world. They had large windows with beautiful green-blue shutters. I couldn’t but think that they matched her eyes. The neighborhood was rather quaint but well-kept as a whole.

My heart began to beat quickly. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought I was going to have a heart attack. I really wanted to take Alexandra’s hand but I felt like this action would be inappropriate to this situation. A shadow appeared in the front door. I began to breathe heavily, I was honestly scarring myself. I briefly looked down at Alex, she was white as a ghost and I could only assume I was too.
Take my lead
she whispered.

The door opened, her mother was standing in the doorframe, puzzled.

“Hello mother, can we come in? I need to talk to you and Dad.”

“Of course” she said as she was sizing me up.

Her mother brought us to the living room without saying a word. She left the room for a few minutes and came back with a pot of tea and crumpets. She then shouted out for Alexandra’s father to join us.

“Mother” she paused “Father. There is something we need to discuss.”

“Go on” said her father, bewildered. I could tell that these sit down talks either didn’t happen often or symbolized negative things.

“I have divorced Robert.” Her mother gasped and she continued. “I say this with a very heart, considering you so kindly picked him out for me, but he just was not right for me. He was abusive.” She began to sob.

“Oh Alex baby, we had no idea!” Squealed her mother, upset.

Alexandra looked to me as if I should speak. I cleared my throat.

“My name is Leopold, prince and son of Victoria.” I thought that a formal introduction would make them feel better about me. “I met your daughter at a formal ball and know just how stressful this divorce might be for you. I am currently searching for a smart, kind and level-headed wife so that I can settle down. If you would have me, I would love to wed Alexandra.” I didn’t know if I should have been more discrete and work my way up to this statement. I looked over to Alex, she seemed to approve of my monologue.

“Well” her father began. “Leopold, normally I would offer you a certain amount of money to take care of our daughter, but her former husband unfortunately has left us high and dry in these regards. Given your status of course, I don’t think this would be too much of a problem” the thought of being paid to marry someone appalled me, but I didn’t think that now would be the time to speak up about this.

“Oh course, Sir. That is fine.” I replied.

“That would be all then, I hope to receive an invitation shortly.” He left the room.

“If you don’t mind, Leopold, I would like to speak to my daughter in private” stated her mother.

“Yes, alright.” Alexandra left the room with her mother and I was left all alone.

I couldn’t help but think that this entire situation was extremely odd. I mean, I suppose I shouldn’t complain, her father accepted me without any complaints, but still. I also was completely against the fact that her parents were going to pay me to marry her. As if marrying Alexandra was some sort of burden. This thought actually disgusted me.

Alexandra soon returned and told me that if I had no further questions we could leave. I went to the kitchen to say goodbye to her mother and thank her for the tea even if I had but a sip. I still couldn’t help but think how odd the entire situation truly was. First and foremost, I didn’t even get a proper introduction from there part. In fact, I don’t even know their names or anything about them. Secondly, they seemed to have no interest in me or the abuse from her husband. I also have no idea what Alex’s mother said to her privately and didn’t know whether or not to ask.

“Shall we return to the castle?” I asked as if nothing was wrong.

She didn’t say anything in response, she simply nodded her head. She didn’t look sad, just a little stressed. We went back to my home in silence. The ride back felt a lot longer than the ride up.

When we finally got back to the palace, she walked right to my room as if she had been through a daily routine for years. She didn’t take a wrong turn once, it was actually quite impressive.

“Leopold. This isn’t going to work, I just, I just don’t think that I can force my mother’s demands on you, I like you, I just…” she trailed off.

“What are your mother’s expectations? I am sure that there is something we can do. I’d do anything for you at this point and I can’t stress that enough!”

“She wants me to try to take the crown, Leopold. To do whatever it takes. And she wants me to start by carrying your child, as soon as possible.”

I took a few moments to think about it. It was definitely a big step, but she was more on the same page as I was than I would have ever thought.

“Together, we will work towards taking over the palace after my mother’s reign. And if it takes a child to make your mother happy, that’s what we shall do. You will be a great mother yourself, I just know it.”

She smiled and mouthed a silent “ok” before running up to me and jumping into a hug.

I didn’t know just how we would become the King and Queen of England, but Alexandra was my Queen and in this moment, nothing could change the love I had for her.
