I stand there like a moron, staring at the space where Roofie just ran from and try to stifle my giggle. I don’t giggle but the image of him rushing through a room full with people, men and women, has me doing it. The towel, if you could call it that, rose precariously high and the look on his face was pretty darn funny.

“What. The. Fuck,” Jase says from next to me as he holds his stomach, laughter spilling out of his mouth so loud that everyone is staring at us. “That was some funny shit.”

I can’t even form a sentence right now, I’m actually speechless for the first time in my life. Carlotta would be shocked that’s for sure. It’s not every day I’m stunned into silence. But saying that, my panties are sopping wet just from seeing his sculpted body that still shimmers with droplets of water falling from his hair. He looked embarrassed but really he shouldn’t have been, his body is built like a God.

“Gemma?” Jase clicks his fingers in front of my face to garner my attention and I smack him away. “You’re silent… that doesn’t happen. Ever.”

“Did you not just see that?” I point in the direction that Roofie rushed to. “Damn, he’s hot with no clothes on.”

“I fucking knew it!” Jase screeches in my face. God damn, he’s annoying. I feel for any woman that he eventually keeps around for longer than a week, they’ll want to punch him in the face repeatedly. He’s like a child at Christmas when he gets overexcited. It’s sometimes endearing but right now it’s irritating.

“Knew what, smartarse?” Even knowing the answer, I ask anyway.

“You and Roofie!” Seriously, Jase is an adult yet whenever he opens that mouth of his, he acts like an excited kid going to Disney World. “I knew you were into him, Gem!”

“Fuck off, Jase.” I laugh as I saunter back to the locker room to shower and change. The image of Roofie in just a skimpy towel is at the forefront of my mind the whole way through showering, changing and drying my hair. The guy is hot with a capital H. His sculpted chest and chiselled abs would make any women swoon. And I know what’s beneath that towel and that thought has my clean knickers soaked within seconds. I go from zero to sixty with him in a matter of seconds. God, how I can’t wait to have him again.

Needing a distraction from my overly sexual imagination, I leave the gym, jump in my car and head to Beast’s penthouse apartment to see Carlotta. The drive is boring and the weather is chilly as winter falls upon us. I turn my heaters on to full and rub my hands together as I sit in the afternoon traffic. What I love about Friday’s is Blissfully Inked is shut and I know I have the day to do whatever the hell I want. Though, I only really have Carlotta as a girlfriend, so doing things on my day off usually consists of training, housework, Netflix and Ice Cream. But the need to fill Carlotta in on the details of my morning takes top priority. I need guy advice and seeing as she bagged herself the biggest fucking dude in MMA, I’m hoping she can help me figure out my thoughts.

Finding an available parking space around this part of London is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Some days it’s easy, some days, like today, is fucking useless. I end up parking a couple of streets away and walking in the frigid afternoon air the rest of the way.

G: I’m on my way to yours, or Beast’s or watevz, be there in 2 mins x

I roll my eyes as my phone dings with an incoming text. She’s the quickest damn texter I know.

C: coolies. C ya in a few x

I shove my phone back in my bag and jam my hands into my coat pockets, cursing under my breath at it being winter when we hardly had a summer. I just want my blanket, the sofa and a bit of Jason Statham and I’d be happy. But no, because I can’t get Roofie out of my head and I have no idea how to take this further or if I should, I’m here actually willing to talk about my feelings.

I buzz up to the penthouse and wait, hopping from foot to foot in hopes of keeping warm.
Come the fuck on, Car, let me in
, I think to myself.

“Hello?” Carlotta’s cheery voice comes through the intercom.

“Let me the fuck in, woman!” I shout back. She chuckles and the door buzzes open. I don’t waste time pushing the door open and stepping into the warmth of the lobby. I salute the doorman, who could have just let me in anyway, and head the bank of shiny elevators lining the wall on the far side of the vast lobby. Pressing the button, I watch as one of the lifts descends slowly and impatiently tap my foot. I’m not impatient by nature but every time I’ve come here, the doorman always gives me weird vibes. Maybe it’s because of the way he stares at me like I’m his next meal or the fact I know he watches me on the cameras.

“Come on, come on,” I mutter to myself as I glance behind my shoulder. And what do you know, he’s staring right at my arse. I roll my eyes and turn when the ding alerts me to the lift arriving. “Thank Christ.” I clamber in and hit the button for the top floor repeatedly and as the doors close, I breathe a sigh of relief.

I keep my eyes trained to the floor and my butt against the side of the lift, knowing that creep is watching my every move. When the doors ping open, I rush to get out and knock on the only door on this floor.

“Hey, girl!” Carlotta squeals as she pulls me into the apartment. “What brings you to this neck of the woods?”

“You must be getting laid a fucking lot to be this damn cheery.” I laugh at her as she giggles. Can’t say I blame her, Beast is pretty fucking hot if you’re into those big, massive, guys that resembles the hulk, just less green.

“Shut up, Gem. Drink?” We head to the open plan kitchen and I have to hand it to Beast, his apartment is fucking lush.

“Coffee please, I have to drive,” I say as I place my bag on the breakfast bar and sit at one of the stainless steel stools. “I need advice.”

“Spill the deets, babe. I saw the twinkle in your eye when I answered the door.” She chuckles as she presses the button on the coffee machine. “Is it Roofie?”

“How do you know?” I give her a quizzical look.

“Gemma, everyone fucking knows. The way you two stare at each other makes it so darn obvious. Just jump the gun and fuck the guy.” She looks at me like I’m stupid and I frown. Have I really been that obvious?

“I already have,” I mumble into my hands.

“Yeah, like months ago and everyone knows how that went down.” She laughs as she continues making the coffee.

“No, I mean this morning.” I hide behind my hands as I say this and I can hear the gasp from Carlotta. Guess she wasn’t expecting it to happen at all after last night. I wasn’t either if I’m honest, but Roofie’s dick is something that no-one else will ever be able to live up to, even if I tried. I can at least admit that.

“You what?” Carlotta screeches. She pulls my hands away from my face and I squeeze my eyes shut. “Tell me you’re not joking?”

“I’m not joking,” I mutter, trying to wrench my hands back from her grasp, but she holds on strong.

“How? When? Where?” she spews out in my face, the look of excitement in her eyes has me chuckling.

“This morning, against the hallway wall in our, my, apartment, hard and fucking amazing. Happy?” I open my eyes and glare at her as I feel the blush creeping up from my neck and setting my cheeks on fire.

“Holy shit. After last night…” she trails off. She looks at me like I’m an alien and I have no idea why. It was just sex for fuck sake.

“Yeah, I thought the same. But it seems Roofie has a conscience. He came to apologise and it just happened.”

“It just happened? No, honey, that’s been building for weeks, even if you did want to chop his dick off and feed it to the crocodiles at the zoo; your words, not mine. With how upset you were, I didn’t think you’d even give him the time of day let alone letting him shove his junk in your lady garden.” She shakes her head as if she’s finding it a little hard to believe. Fuck knows why, she’s been pushing me to approach him for a while, but that little niggle of doubt from our first time always held me back.

“God, woman, it’s like you’ve never had sex before and are living through my tales.” She laughs and I continue, “I feel this spark of a connection when we touch, my pulse races and my skin heats. I can’t explain it any better but now I’m worried it’s going to be one sided. He’s admitted that he’s never had a relationship before.”

“You two will be so cute together.” I can already see in her eyes that she’s picturing babies and I glare at her. “What?”

“Don’t get ahead of yourself there, Car. I don’t know when I’m seeing him again, let alone if we sleep together ever again. I don’t know what to do and that’s why I came here. Not to get lectured or whatever.” I please her with my eyes and she nods.

Adding the sugar to our latte’s, she places them on the counter between us and takes a seat opposite me. “I think a night out with all of us is in order.”

“Who’s ‘all of us’?” I ask her as I take a sip of my coffee, the heat burns my tongue but it tastes so fucking good.

“Me, Beast, you, Roofie and Jase,” she answers, swirling her mug around. “We’ll go to Fusion in Soho. Get you all glammed up and operation Roofie will commence.”

“You’re a fucking strange one, do you know that?” I laugh. “Okay, let’s do it. I’m just as useless with relationships as he is as you well know. Sex I can do, but…”

“Don’t worry, Gem. It will all work out. You two will work out. We’ll get this ball rolling. If there’s a connection, then it’s meant to be. I should know, I felt it with Beast, I still do.” A wistful smile takes over her face and it’s contagious. I love seeing her so happy and even though I had my doubts about him, he’s really making her happy, and that’s all that counts.

“Okay, when shall we do this?” I ask her, gulping down a load of coffee. It pools in my stomach and I sigh as the caffeine washes over me, giving me a burst of energy that I didn’t think I’d have in me after training with Roofie.

“Tonight.” She’s already tapping away on her phone and I consult my watch. Plenty of time to get ready. “I’ll come back to the flat to get ready and get you all prettied up.” She winks at me and goes back to her phone.

My phone pings and I see that Carlotta sent a group text to us all. “We better leave now if we want to be ready in time.”

Finishing our coffees, Carlotta takes the empty cups to the dishwasher before saying, “Let me just grab some stuff and we’ll be good to go.” I watch as she saunters off down a long hallway and into the end room. And I just sit here, lost in thoughts of Roofie all over again.

Lounging on Jase’s white sofa, I take a swig of beer as we sit and watch the boxing. Both of our phones go off at the same time and we eye each other before checking.

“Carlotta?” I ask him.

“Yup. I guess she sent a group message. Fancy Fusion tonight then?” he asks, his ankle crossing over his leg.

“Sure, why not. It’s Friday after all.” I finish my beer and get up, heading to the kitchen area to put it in the bin. “I’ll meet you here.”

“Where are you going?” Jase asks, not making a move to get up.

“Home to get a shower. Where else would I go?” Fucking dumb shit question, but that’s Jase all over. Says shit that comes to his head before he thinks about it.
