But he kept looking directly at Maxine. I rolled my eyes and looked over at her, only to see she was actually eating up his shit. What the hell?

“You are too kind, Mr. Morgan,” she told him, and a shit-eating grin spread across his face.

I wanted to punch him in said face, actually. Just at that moment, things got worse. The brunette came swaying in our direction, linked her arm with Dexter’s, and smiled seductively at me. I felt Maxine’s eyes on her and then on me. I knew at that moment that this was an ambush. ‘Aw, shit.’

The four of us stood there and talked about nothing. But the brunette, whose name I still couldn’t remember, was smiling and flirting with me. She kept touching my arm or laughing a little too enthusiastically at something I said. Dexter was trying his best to impress Max; asking her where she was from and trying to connect their past and culture. He was pouring it on rather thick. What was pissing me off was that Max seemed to be buying into his bullshit. I wanted to expose the fraud, but I also had to keep fighting off the clear advances the brunette was giving me.

I started to feel my anger rising, especially when Dexter said to my date, “Hey, let me introduce you to someone that could probably get you started in your career. He’s in charge of the top sports rehabilitation center on the East Coast.”

I saw Max’s eyes light up. Because she looked at me with those eyes, I couldn’t and wouldn’t dream of saying no or interfering. So I was a very obedient boyfriend and simply nodded my okay. Then she left my side for the first time tonight.

I needed a stronger drink, and I walked to the bar with the brunette following.

“So is that your girlfriend or something?” she asked me.

“Yes,” I said simply, not looking at her as I ordered my drink.

I, of course, out of courtesy asked her what she was drinking. She told me white wine, so I ordered for her as well. When my Scotch came, I drank it quickly and ordered another one.

“Does she know about us?”

I looked in her eyes.

“There isn’t anything to know.”

She smiled at me until she looked in my eyes. I saw the confident smile on her face disappear quickly, but she didn’t move from my side. I resumed my stalking of my own girlfriend. I found her talking to Dexter and another man, who were both staring at her with hunger in their eyes. No, I’m not over-reacting either. The look in their eyes is the same look that is constantly in mine when she’s with me.

I was about to go claim what was mine, when I saw her part from the group and head out of the room. I let out a breath I was unaware I was holding. I saw Dexter watch her walk away, and the next thing I knew he was walking out too.

What the fuck?

Chapter 11
Maxine

I needed to take a breather from all of the attention I was getting. It was something I wasn’t used to, and it was a bit unnerving. What was also rather amusing was the jealously that was reaking from Mason. I could tell he didn’t care too much for Dexter, but I have to admit Dexter was very attractive. He was slightly shorter than Mason, but he had a very nice body, and a face that was chocolaty smooth and flawless with bright white teeth and full lips. His brown eyes were filled with mischief. By the way he was smiling at me; he was a decoy to get me away from Mason brought on by the brunette.

When I walked in, I saw him instantly. Damn he is stunning and a full-on without-a-doubt sexy-ass man. His dark suit fit him well. He exuded confidence and strength, and above all else, stature and money. What I didn’t like was the woman who apparently leached herself to him. He smiled at her, but the smile never reached his eyes. I did see a hint of intrigue from him, but I tried not to let that bother me. I’m confident in myself… Somewhat, anyway. I’ve worked on that for quite some time, so I hope that one night and one skank wouldn’t change that.

What helped was the gorgeous Donna Karan dress Mason sent me. I mean, the material was like silk. It was so soft against my skin. The dress was black. It contoured every inch of my curves, which I’m sure was Mason’s plan when he picked it out. It was long with a split up the front of the dress, stopping at my thighs. The shoes were black Jimmy Choos, with diamonds along the straps and up the heels. There were also diamond drop earrings and a matching bracelet along with the dress and shoes, which I knew had to cost a fortune.

I wore my hair straight back, sort of like what I had seen Halle Berry wear at some award show. I put light makeup on that made my eyes smoky and dark, putting emphasis on my light brown eyes and just a hint of gloss on my lips. When I arrived at the venue close to 7:30 p.m., I felt like I was going to the Oscars. I felt confident and, most of all, sexy. That feeling, however, almost faltered when I saw Mason with the brunette, until his eyes fell on me. He walked over to me while drinking me in, and all I wanted to do was melt in him. He looked at me as if I was the only woman here. He touched me and kissed me sweetly and so lovingly that I thought I was going to faint.

And throughout the night, he never allowed me to leave his side. I tried to be the supporting girlfriend. I smiled at men who otherwise would loathe me. I laughed at jokes that weren’t funny. I tried to seem as interested as I could, even though the things they talked about were over my head.

When Dexter stole me from Mason, I welcomed the break. What I wanted to do was drop-kick the brunette, but I didn’t. Instead, Dexter told me he could introduce me to Lance DeWitt from DeWitt Sports Rehab Center. That is where I would love to work. The Center is a prominent rehab facility for all sorts of professional athletes. Getting a job with him would catapult my career. Mason knew that, which is why he reluctantly let me go.

After I had spoken to Lance, and he gave me his card, I made my escape to the women’s restroom to freshen up. It was hell getting this dress up to use the bathroom. But after maneuvering a little, I accomplished my goal.

“So are you going home with Mason tonight?”

I heard someone say, and my ears grew hot. I quickly finished and flushed and exited the stall. I’ve seen in movies where the girl always hides when someone comes inside the restroom and talks about them or someone they know. I always said I wasn’t hiding, and I didn’t. I exited the stall and saw the brunette standing with some blonde.

The brunette smiled at me but said to her friend, “Oh I’m sure he’ll ask. I mean we were together just a couple of weeks ago.”

I washed my hands and looked at my makeup in the mirror. I didn’t give either of them a glance.

“Well, I heard he is a killer in bed. Is that true?”

The blonde clearly was oblivious to who I was, but the brunette wasn’t.

“Oh girl, yes. I mean he went on and on. He couldn’t get enough of me.” She then looked at me and said, “I mean he is definitely gifted, don’t you think?”

The attendant in the restroom, who I hadn’t noticed when I entered, gave me a towel to dry my hands. I reached in my purse and left a tip. Then I faced my new adversary.

“He definitely is,” I said.

“So listen. Just so you know, he and I have a history together. So be prepared when he comes home with me tonight. I mean no offense to you. I’m sure you are lovely. It’s just that he and I make sense. We fit together better than…you know…you and him….Well, I don’t need to tell you.”

I smiled at her. “Huh? Wow.” I shook my head, smiled my most brilliant smile I could muster, and said, “You know, I do agree you two do make more sense than he and I. But his dick and my pussy fit very well together…I mean, we’ve actually fit over and over and over.”

I rolled my eyes in the back of my head, just thinking of how well we fit. I then shivered;
really
shivered. I mean he hasn’t touched me all day, and just the anticipation of him touching me is turning me on. I opened my eyes to two gaping mouths.

I added, “So when I’m done with him, if there is anything left that is, you are more than welcome to him. But until then…
He. Is. Mine
.”

I confidently strolled out of the bathroom in search of my addiction that is Mason West.

“Allura, there you are.” I turned to find Dexter coming up behind me, fixing his pants. “Can I get you a drink?”

I looked at him suspiciously. I really don’t trust the man, and I didn’t want to be alone with him any longer.

I smiled though and said, “No, thank you. I need to find my date.”

I turned from him as he said something to me that I didn’t quite catch. I was concentrating on a brooding Mason by the bar with a glass of Scotch in his hand.

“If you’ll excuse me,” I said to him, keeping my eyes on Mason.

When I approached, he was still looking behind me.

“Where did you go?” he asked, not really looking at me.

I heard the band playing in the background, and all I wanted was his arms around me.

I said, “Dance with me?”

He looked in my eyes, and I saw how angry and jealous he was. I cozied up to him and wrapped my arms around his neck. I put my hands in his hair and looked him in his eyes.

“I was in the restroom. Now will you come dance with me, please?”

He nodded sharply toward the dance floor, and I took his hand to lead him away. He took the remaining brown liquid down and then let me lead him to the dance floor.

When we got there, he put one arm around my waist and reached for my hand with the other. He placed his and my hand to his heart and looked me in my eyes, as he led us around the dance floor. I touched his cheek, as I danced and smiled at him.

I told him, “There’s no reason to be upset or jealous. He can’t hold a candle to you.”

“I know that,” was all he said, which made me smile brightly.

I found myself absently humming the tune the band was playing. I looked in his now dark blue eyes and knew he was still angry, but he just kept me close and looked in my eyes.

He said finally, “Do you know this song?”

I nodded. He then went to the band and said something to the piano player. When he got back to me, he resumed dancing with me as I noticed the band discreetly start the song over.

“Sing it to me.”

The song that was playing was a slower version of Adele’s
One and Only
. When it was time, I started singing to him with just the amount of feeling and emotion the words needed. The words to the song fit who he was to me, and what I wanted to be to him.

I placed my hands on the sides of his head and just sang to him, not caring who was next to me or where we were. These words were for him. As I sang, I saw the blue i
n his eyes grow lighter… Amazing.

I kept my eyes on him, no matter how hard it was starting to get. The intense way he was watching me gave me butterflies, as well as the goosebumps I always have when he’s near. There was so much emotion in his eyes that I couldn’t look away, even if I wanted to. I moved back slightly and held both his hands as I sang the second verse, filling my voice with as much emotion as was on my heart.

When I got to the end hook of the song, I got startled when the band started backing me up sounding just like the song itself.
I smiled up at them, as they sang softly. I then turned to the man, who at that moment I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, and just told him to let me love him. I put my own twist to the song with ad libs and inflections. I sang the chorus again. By the end of the song, Mason had pulled me into him. Before he placed a sweet kiss on my lips, he said words I would never have thought I would hear from him: “I love you.”

I inhaled, deeply shocked at his confession. There were people applauding, but I didn’t focus on them. I placed my hands against his cheeks to kiss him deeply and with everything I had, without letting everyone here see our most private moment. He placed his hands on top of mine but never broke his kiss. When we finally pulled away, he placed his forehead against mine.

“Let’s go home.”

I wiped his lips first, and he did the same for me. When we walked off the dance floor, he pulled my hand to his chest and looked down at me the whole way out of the room. He said his goodbyes with just a nod and a smile. I felt I was floating on air. I caught a glimpse of the brunette, but I didn’t have the energy to smirk at her. He told me he loved me. I couldn’t stop smiling.

When we got in the elevator of the hotel, we were in a fierce lip lock. When we got into the limo, we continued our lip lock. When we got to his apartment, he brought me to a place full of red roses in vases everywhere. Candles lit the room, giving it a beautiful ambiance. One of my favorite songs was playing in the background. Ed Sheeran’s
Kiss Me
. That told me how much he loved me. Mason hates mushy girly songs like this.

“Oh my God…Mason…” I was speechless, and I looked up at him trying to read his thoughts.

“Dance with me.” He took my hand and moved me into the living room. I put my arms around his neck, and he put his arms around my waist and rested his hands on my ass. He shook his head softly, as if he was battling with his thoughts. He brought one of his hands around me and to my face.

As he caressed my cheek, he said in a voice that made me weak in the knees, “I never thought I would ever feel for anyone the way I feel for you. You mean everything to me, and I never want to be without you. I can’t breathe without you. My heart stops, and I feel lost every time you’re not around. I’ve been trying to find a way out of this dark cloud that I’ve been under for years, and it took just being with you to save me.”

I felt him wipe at my cheeks, and I just realized I was crying.

“Allura, I love you. I’m helplessly in love with you. You’re my reason for living.” He smiled shyly at me. “I’m so thankful for you.”

I touched his lips with my shaking fingers. I couldn’t take anymore. This man was spilling his guts to me, and I was being overwhelmed with love, desire, and lust. He picked me up so our eyes were level.

“I love you too, Mason.”

He closed his eyes and finally took a calming breath. I kissed him, as he held me in the air.

When I let him up for air, I whispered, “Take these fucking clothes off.”

He chuckled.

“Anything for you, my love.”

He placed me back down, and I wasted no time in removing his jacket from him. As he took off the jacket, I went to the buttons on his shirt. He watched
as my hands wouldn’t stop shaking. I mean I couldn’t understand why I was so nervous.

“You want me to do it?” he asked softly, and I bit my bottom lip and shook my head.

I then got fed up and ripped his shirt open. Buttons flew everywhere, and he looked at me with amusement. He removed his cuff links, and I removed his shirt off him. I then reached up and kissed him, as he wrapped his strong arms around me and held me close to him.

“Baby, I want you so much,” he said softly against my lips.

“Then get this dress off me,” I replied.

Then I felt his hands on my back, feeling for the zipper. I smiled.

“It’s on the side.”

When he unzipped me and my dress fell, I was completely naked. I wrapped my legs around his waist.

“Damn, baby. I really fucking love you. You were made just for me. I can’t wait to get lost in you.”

That night we christened each and every surface in his apartment. We made love to each other, and still had the energy to fuck each other’s brains out as well. I never thought there was a difference, until I met Mason West. Now I can’t seem to get enough. I’ve become insatiable, and he loves me.

Afterward, we were lying on the floor by the couch, trying desperately to catch our breath. I couldn’t move even if I wanted to, and from the looks of him, neither could he.

“Mason, can I ask you a personal question?”

He had his head resting on my thigh, and I was lying on my back looking up at his ceiling.

“Of course you can.”
