Lucien,

she whispered.

Without a word, he scooped her up in his arms and carried her back to the filthy brass bed.

Where is…the wolf? Did you see it, Lucien?

Lilac asked.

No, I didn

t see it, Lilac, I
was
it!

His voice filled was soft laughter.

But…how? I thought you were an angel?

She knew she sounded naïve and foolish.

Ah, my love, I can choose any form I wish. The wolf is beguiling, but there is danger, even evil in such inherent beauty
.
I killed the gator not only for your protection, but also, to show you my real nature. I am a predatory being. Why, I could kill
you
if I wanted to!

Lilac

s fear of him was palpable. Whether man or angel, he was
more than capable of choking the
life out of her in an instant. Still, she was drawn to him
,
bound to him by his exquisite good looks,
his lust for her
and her own desire.

She didn

t really know what love was
. She

d
felt unloved most of her life. Her parents were too busy with their own tumultuous relationship to pay attention to her. All those boys she

d been with sexually,
always hoping
hope
that one of them might
just
fall in love with her.
None had.

Now, she was in love with Lucien, would do anything for want of his love
. She was even willing to ignore
the fact that he was
n

t
human.

So, does that mean you

re
not an angel at all, but something…else?

No, my pet.

He gently stroked her hair.

My true form is that of an angel, but I can change shape
at will
. Enough talk, my love.

Silently, he turned her onto her stomach
and
roughly yanked her hips up so that she was on her knees, her face and upper body lying flat on the mattress.
She knew what he meant to do, and she

d let him.
There was no teasing, no begging, and no foreplay this time. Instead, he
just…took her.

Lilac cried out
,

Oh yes, Lucien, take me…I am yours completely!

He turned her over and again lay upon her, kissing her all over.

Love me…Lucien
!

she moaned
in the throes of a passion like none she

d ever felt.

When he

d finished,
he
placed a kiss on her forehead
.
Her
eyes were still closed and she sighed in complete and utter contentment.

You shall be my slave. I shall
have
you whenever and however I please. You belong to me,

Lucien whispered in her ear.

Yes, I will be your slave, I a
m
your slave! I love you Lucien. I

ll
do whatever you want.

Chapter 3
8

D
o you really believe me, Lily or are you just humoring me?

Gabriel asked, finding it difficult to fathom that she would believe that he had traveled through time.

I do believe you, even though it seems far-fetched, but if you want to know the truth of it, I don

t consider time travel to be impossible…at all.

She thought of
the many ways she

d found him: different, off.
Now, it made sense.

They were both quiet for a while
, as they looked out at
the horizon
. They watched
twilight turn to night. Watching as the cozy lights went on in the houses on the mainland. The sound of the ocean waves lapping gently against the shore was so soothing.

As Lily looked around the island, it was as she

d expected
,
the place was pretty much deserted. The beams from the light house continued to circle, revealing the vast ocean and the island as well.

Gabriel had opened up his heart to her
,
sharing his innermost secrets, yet, she hesitated to tell him hers. After all, he

d been convicted of witchcraft, sentenced to
die
because of it. He

d
told her straight out that he did not believe in witchcraft. How could she tell him what she

d always known, that she had abilities that others did not
. That she was actually
a very powerful sorceress
.
But, her powers were uneven and the outcomes were not always predictable.

She was glad to have a specific power at
that
moment
, the
ability to look into the heart of a person. She saw no malice or deceit in Gabriel, only purity and innocence.
And love.

There is more to it than just traveling in time, Lily. Lucien helped me. He led me to believe that he was an angel, sent to save me from imminent death. And…he burned Thomas Snow to a pile of smoldering ash, right before everyone

s eyes. He said he could save me, but the choice had to be
mine
. I went with him, ignoring my internal warnings that
it
was wrong
,
before I even knew what he really was…

So, what is he?

Lucien is a...
fallen
angel. I fear him and I believe he makes a mockery of the truth. But, I fear
less
for myself,
and more
that I

ve brought something evil and dangerous here.

What does he want, Gabriel? Is he…did he…take Lilac?

He wants my soul, Lily! And if I don

t give it to him, I am afraid of what he will do. Not to me, but too…others. Yes, he has Lilac. He keeps her as a slave to his lust. She believes she
loves
him. She has no idea what he is capable of, but
I
do!

Oh my God, we have to find her!

There is more Lily.

He sighed.

It is
you
he really wants. He

s threatened to take you in Lilac

s place
.
I have put you in danger, just as I caused the ruin of my entire family…

No, Gabriel,

she said quietly.

You did none of those things,
he
did. He is the cause of all that you

ve suffered
.
Him
and him alone. There are things about me that you don

t know, but one thing I
can
tell you, is I have a…gift. I see with a clarity others don

t
.
I see your soul and it

s
pure and loving. You

re
innocent, that

s
why he wants your soul
and
why he threatens to take me. He knows that you would give him your soul to prevent him from harming me
.

I will never let
anything
harm you, Lily
.
You have my word.

Suddenly, he pulled her close to him, wrapping his arms protectively around her. When she looked up, his mouth came down on hers, rough and demanding, in a way that he never thought he was capable of.

He pulled her down onto the
sandy shore
with him.
T
hey lay on their sides
,
their kisses
growing deeper,
more passionate
, and
urgent.

Lily
drew
him on top of her, running her fingers through his hair. His hand tenderly moved down to her throat and finally to her breasts. He did not hesitate or feel any guilt. For the first time in his life, Gabriel knew what it meant to be a man
in the arms of a woman.

She lifted up her arms and allowed him to remove her shirt. He marveled at the sight of her breasts, milky white, perfect, the nipples a pale pink. He kissed them tenderly, gently sucking them, his hand cupping each one as he did. She sighed with pleasure.

I

ve never, you know…made love to anyone, Gabriel,

she whispered.

Nor have I.

Those exotic, gray-violet eyes gazed into hers. She could get lost in them and she did. She would never tire of having him look at her the way he did right then.

Do you…want too, Lily?

Yes…I want you more than anything I

ve ever wanted in my life!

Are you sure? After all I

ve told you and the danger you may be…

Sshh
.

She put
a finger to his lips.

Surrender to me Gabriel, as I have already surrendered to you.

Slowly, they continued to explore the precious mysteries of one another

s body.

She reached down and slid her hand between his legs, finding his manhood
hard
and ready. He quickly removed his pants
and
she removed her shorts and they threw them aside.

He eased himself down onto her, marveling at the feel of her flesh against his own
, loving
the feel of her soft fleecy sex as he sank down into it
,
the
delicious
heat of it
. A whisper of a
moan escaped her lips. The sound drove him mad with desire!

When he entered her,
he could swear
at
that moment, he was in heaven.
They moved together in a tender rhythm, her hips moving up and down
and
swaying
from
side to side, enveloping him with this ecstasy.

They were as one. He kissed her mouth hungrily
. She wrapped her
legs around him, holding him tight to her as their rhythm became frenzied. The waves
crashed
to the shore
, they heard the roar of the ocean and felt
the cold water upon their feet
. And the
scent of the sea, the gentle swirling lights of the lighthouse,
all added
to this
incredible
moment.

Their passion came to a peak at the same time.
Both cried out, as the act of love making brought them not just the pleasures of the flesh, but the joining of their very souls.

After they

d dressed, she snuggled up to him, her head on his chest, his arm
s
wrapped around her as she listened to the steady beat of his heart. He felt at peace
. T
here was no guilt in him for what they

d done because he knew he would spend the rest of his life loving her
. For him, there would be no other.
