“Come here.” His chest rose and fell with each deep breath he took. Was he as nervous as she? Her hands felt clammy. She felt weepy. When she approached, he took the ring from the case and grasped her hand. He kissed her knuckles before sliding the symbol of love onto her finger. With a little jerk, he pulled her on the bed next to him. “I love you, Zoë.”

She cupped his face, holding back tears of joy. “I love you too.” Emotion gathered in her throat, making it hard to speak, but she still managed to say, “I’ve always loved you.”

He rolled her onto her back and covered her body with his. It felt so good—so right. With a gentle nudge of his knee, he parted her legs. Resting his hips against her sex, he asked, “When?”

“When what?” Zoë smoothed her palms across his firm ass, feeling muscles ripple beneath her touch as she caressed up his back. She spread her thighs wider, urging him to enter her—make her complete.

“When will you marry me?” He raised his hips, angled them so that when he finally thrust, he parted her folds and pushed in.

Liquid heat rushed through her veins. “Name it,” she said on a gasp. Anytime—any place. Her fingers dug into his biceps as she held on tight.

Drew withdrew, sliding back in an inch at a time as he spoke. “Tomorrow.” Anticipation made the moment so much better. She knew how it felt to embrace his cock. He slid farther in.

Damn, that felt good.

“You.” His voice was beyond sexy. “Me,” he breathed the word. “Vegas.”

She raised her hips, driving him all the way in. Oh yeah… They fit perfectly together. “Mmmm…” she hummed, loving the way he rocked and rolled his hips to send her into meltdown. “I could live with that.” On a second thought, she added, “What about Mom, Dad, Josh?”

“They’ll be there. I’ve made all the arrangements.” He latched on to one of her nipples, drawing it deep into his hot, wet mouth. He sucked, licked, scraping his teeth along the sensitive flesh.

Zoë arched, begging him to take more. “Pretty sure of yourself,” she breathed, meeting the rhythm of his hips as he moved in and out.

His mouth made a pop as he released her nipple. “As sure as I am that you’ll be screaming my name in— Oh, let’s say about two minutes.”

Zoë was about to challenge him when he pulled out of her pussy, kissing a path down her body. Her laughter died when he sucked her clit into his mouth and started rubbing his tongue back and forth before he nibbled.

“No fair.” Her protest melted as he started to pinch her nipples. He knew exactly where to stroke to make her hips come off the bed and her lips part on a cry. “Yes,” she hissed. Her body tensed, inner muscles flexing. Threading her fingers through his hair, she held him close. Her mind shut down, focusing on the growing pressure between her thighs.

Drew plucked a certain chord inside her and a heat wave exploded, swallowing her up. “Drew!” Her climax struck, hard and fast. Every muscle in her body seized. Powerful spasms tightened and released. Lost in the maelstrom of sensations, she was barely aware when he moved atop her. As contractions squeezed, one after another, she was filled with the most incredible fullness.

“Damn, woman, you’re tight.” Drew slammed his hips between her thighs. Over and over he thrust, driving deep and setting off another series of ripples inside her. Wrapping her arms around him, she held on—loving the friction between them and the musky scent that surrounded them.

His labored breathing whispered across her face. He stared at her with such intensity, and then he froze. She felt the tremor that assailed him. A throaty growl ripped from his throat. His cock jerked several times, spilling his seed as his eyelids slid closed. The fervor in his expression melted into a look of unadulterated pleasure.

Drew released a sated breath. “Mmmm…” He collapsed. His dead weight pushed her farther into the mattress. The sound of a horn beeping made him quickly roll off her and move off the bed. “Damn, we’re late.” He blew out the candle on the nightstand. Zoë heard a thump, knew he’d banged his knee on the edge of the bed when he said, “Fuck.”

She pushed into a sitting position as he made his way out of the bedroom.

He tugged on his pants, moving to retrieve his shirt draped over her bike. “Get dressed.” He disappeared beneath the material and reappeared, moving to switch on a light before he blew out the candles on the counter and kitchen table. Then he took a seat on the couch to put his socks and shoes on.

The horn sounded again, drawing his attention.

“Hurry.” He stood, tucking his blue polo shirt into his pants.

“What’s going on?” she asked, concern making the small hairs on her arms rise as she pushed from the bed. Drew was acting strangely. Instead of answering her, he opened the trailer door and was gone, slamming it closed behind him.

Chills raced up her back. Something wasn’t right. She yanked open a drawer and found a T-shirt, dragging it over her head. She shimmied into a pair of jeans from the next drawer. Underwear was the furthest thing from her mind at that moment. With hurried steps she made her way to the front door and swung it open.

Her breath caught.

Drew stood before a black stretch limousine with an armful of long-stemmed red roses. There had to be at least four dozen. In the center was one white rose. His smile looked a little strained.

Barefooted, she took the steps from the trailer to stand on the rough asphalt. “Drew?”

“Marry me?” He swallowed hard, sucking in a breath, revealing his nervousness.

Without pause, she nodded. “Okay.”

“I mean now.”

He had to be kidding. “Now?” she murmured.

“Let’s go to Vegas tonight. I’ve made all the arrangements,” he explained, removing her excuse that nothing had been planned.

Zoë’s pulse leaped. His smile deepened when he saw hers. He really wanted to marry her tonight.

“Someone will be by to drive your rig to your mom and dad’s,” he added.

The excitement surging through her veins froze. “Drew?” Would he realize how much it meant to have her family in attendance as they made their commitments to each other? She had left them out of her life for way too long. “I—”

The back door to the limousine opened and Josh stuck his head out. “Hurry, or we’ll miss the plane.” He winked at Zoë with a mischievous grin plastered on his face.

Her gaze darted from Josh to Drew. “Mom? Dad?”

Drew pushed the roses into Josh’s awaiting hands. “Inside.”

Zoë felt tears well. Emotion gathered in her throat. As if she had wings, she flew into Drew’s open arms. Warm laughter caressed her ear as he swung her around once before setting her on her feet to usher her inside the car.

“I’ll get your shoes and lock up,” he said.

“What about clothes?” she asked.

“Trust me. You won’t need any.” His sexy expression made her giddy. She was getting married—to the man of her dreams.

As Zoë climbed inside the car, the scent of leather rose from the seats. Happiness was in her family’s expressions as they each greeted her with a hug. Josh had already popped the top on a bottle of champagne. Her father handed her a flute of the golden bubbly. Her mother laid the roses on the seat beside Zoë.

It was unbelievable. When Drew slid in beside her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, Zoë knew it was real.

“Here, bro.” Josh handed Drew a glass of champagne, raising his high. As everyone’s glasses touched, made a tinkling sound, Josh said, “Here’s to two individuals that time could not separate. Find happiness in each other’s arms.”

There was a moment of agreement, and then silence as Zoë took a sip.

“Now, young man, when will you be settling down?” Their mother pinned her steely gaze on Josh.

Like always, Josh did his best to change the subject. “So when will there be a little Thompson running around?” The man was incorrigible. Grandchildren was a surefire way to kindle their mother’s passion. But she wasn’t falling for it.

“Perhaps you can answer that same question, Joshua Davis.” Her mother’s words faded.

Some day the right woman would cross Josh’s path. Zoë hoped she was there to see it happen.

As she sat listening to the people she loved, Zoë realized how much she needed them—needed Drew. If she had learned anything these past three years, she had learned that life was incomplete without someone to share it with.

“Happy?” Drew took her glass, setting it down before he wrapped her in a tender embrace. She tipped her chin up to receive his chaste kiss.

No words could express the depth of Zoë’s emotions. She nodded as a million sensations struck her all at once, moving beneath her skin. For the first time in three years she finally felt alive—knew she was where she was always meant to be—in Drew’s arms. Tonight she would be Mrs. Drew Thompson.

“I love you.” His eyes glistened with the truth.

“I love you too.” She sighed, cuddling closer. The moment was perfect—one worth dying for—but more importantly, worth living for.

Whispering Cove, Book 5

Tabatha Taylor has mooned over her brother’s best friend since childhood. For years she’s been chipping away at his cool façade, using the generous, all-grown-up assets God gave her to her advantage.

Finally she has a chance to work close to him on a project for the Fall Festival. Going nose to nose with him will prove her ideas have merit, even if she doesn’t have a degree. But she learns the cost to her heart could be bigger than she anticipated.

Tabby’s dark beauty definitely sets architect Reece McGrath’s pulse racing, but she’s an itch better left unscratched. The attraction that flares between them is hot and undeniable, but getting close means risking a friendship he values and a lifestyle he cherishes. Crossing that boundary isn’t worth the price he’d have to pay.

With one of the grandfathers of Whispering Cove pinpointing them in another matchmaking scheme, though, they find themselves inching closer to that line. And closer

Warning: This book gives new meaning to getting nailed. Nothing beats a man with a variety of tools at his disposal and a woman who is bold enough to take him on.

Morning came way too early. The sun barely peeked over the white-crested waves of the Atlantic, while fiery ribbons of orange and yellow stretched across the dusky horizon. A light fog circled her ankles like crawling snakes weaving in and out. Even the coach lights aligning the streets remained lit, casting a blue hue over the sleepy town.

Tabby yawned, wondering why the hell she had stayed at the Seaside Pub, Hauk’s bar, until after midnight. Of course, she knew the answer. One stubborn-assed man had suggested she call it a night after refusing to dance with her. Not that there weren’t plenty of men offering to partner her. With the influx of tourists and locals, Hauk’s place had been packed for a Tuesday night.
